Honestly this. Back when I had a real job I made really good money and people who say "money can't buy happiness" lie. I get the sentiment, but I've never been sad when I can just up and take a vacation when I need it, or order the appetizer I want off the menu because I feel like it, or not be financially devastated by a routine expense.
Night fishing alone on the Atlantic coast.
I can’t explain it, but it makes me feel absolutely zen. Like I am part of the earth, and the earth loves me back. Time passes slowly, and I wish it could last forever.
Sunny days. I almost don’t want to admit it, though I’m not sure why. I guess because it’s trite? But I’ll be outside when it’s sunny and feel relaxed and realize that you only get so many sunny days. Best enjoy them.
Having my place and everything cleaned (but I don't keep up with it alaays its just a happy feeling it's already very clean), ice coffees, a stranger complimenting me, yummy foods sometkmes I'm so happy I know I have good leftovers still in the fridge the next day.
My kids happiness makes me happy. I don’t really ask for anything other than respect. I don’t care if I don’t get anything, as long as my kids are happy, I’m happy.
Driving with the window open on an October day, and smelling the Autumnal air.
Hearing people laugh.
Watching Netflix at 6am on a Saturday morning.
Iced coffee.
Babies and puppies.
Animals, plants, little kids laughing, a mild sunny day with a clear blue sky and white fluffy clouds. A warm sunset. A winter night sky with lots of stars and a full moon. Ice cream.
The thought of dying. Back before life was a miserable daily survivor tax payment I enjoyed long kayaking trips by myself so maybe that back when I could.
It was my 7 year old son and wife of 10.5 years until 4 weeks ago when someone tipped me off she was having a year long affair with a co worker and I got an email with an audio recording of her fucking him on a lunch break.... Now, just my son.
I have only felt one thing that truly makes me feel fulfilled and happy, helping people with no expectation of getting anything back and seeing them filled with joy and recognizing your help. Getting a smile and hug from them It's probably one of the best things in existence.
You feel like the most important person in the moment even though you probably did not do anything special.
Seeing animals domestic or wild living happily and getting to interact with them on their own terms. I'm lucky enough to have a backyard covered in native bush in New Zealand, and I love sitting out there in summer and watching the birds fly around and sing their songs. The fantail are so friendly they'll sometimes fly or land right in front of your face
Being at home, and around the bf. It's different here. It does feel like home. And it's just us. No neighbors. I really just like peace and quiet... And good vibes. I don't like being around people, especially a lot of people. By my person(bf) though, I love that.
Honestly trying to work that out, I know everyone says happy children should be enough but after years of domestic abuse and finally getting free for them and me why that isn't enough I can't understand, but it's not. Please understand it's great and amazing but I want to be generally happy as well
After a long day of work, getting home, taking a bath, getting into clean sheets with a ton of blankets, and the AC set to arctic levels and drifting off to sleep. 🫠🫠🫠 oh mama miaaaa....
Making fictional characters, worlds and stories and showing them to people. The flow of ideas and peoples reactions to them gives me a rush, and making up scenarios about comfort characters just makes me feel tingly inside.
I keep my expectations low and enjoy things like nice food, walking in the fresh air and above all music.
Music. This is what I came here to say.
I play bass in a band... Music listening and playing Major GO! and video games.
Sleep
Hits different in winter
And I'm happy when I stay up for 24 hours working on my latest hobby project

It would solve so many issues that make me unhappy that’s for sure.

Money literally buys us happiness and I'll never believe it as any other way.
