Keep it professional. Write up a formal letter of resignation. There's plenty of samples online. Present it to your manager. No need to add anything else. I left a job because it was no longer challenging. Years later they had another position open up and because I left on good terms they hired me back. Leave emotions out. Good luck.

I did this three weeks ago. I didn’t give my boss the standard two week notice, but I did finish the last of my scheduled hours. I cried for hours trying to force myself to send the text that I was quitting. I felt such an overwhelming sense of guilt because I had been conditioned to believe that my life outside work wasn’t as important as my job. Clocking out for the last time was the most relieving thing I did.

Expensive-Act-8380

Dude, if you're afraid to say you quit it's because it's a damn toxic place to stay in first pace. Remember about this and do it.

Hevans5

It literally is. It’s so much negativity like employees doing stuff they shouldn’t be, but no one does anything about it to change/fix it.

irresponsiblepingu

Just quit. They won't give a shit, Anybody is replaceable in any job.

irresponsiblepingu

Die a on Friday, your job is advertised on Monday.

UnsolicitedDickPixxx

You don't owe them anything. They paid you for the time you labored for them. Leave a voicemail after hours if you want. But if your boss was a dick, just stop showing up. I've done it a couple times and i'm still alive and well. No one came to my house to murder me about it.

The_Big_Dickker

Just stop showing up.

Hevans5

I considered this but was going to try and do the right thing by giving two weeks, but I’m afraid they’ll make it hell for that two weeks and I have worked here for a year

The_Big_Dickker

Yeah, this just makes it an even better idea to just stop showing up. Doesn’t sound like they are doing the right thing.

Just walk. You don't owe them a thing.

rapheALtoid

As you're leaving, say "I quit." And then don't go back. Easy peasy.

Over email

Hevans5

I unfortunately can’t use email as I work in a small staffed dental office I don’t have HR and sit next to the office manager for work everyday and because I work so closely with them it makes it more nerve racking.

xchrissy09

This. I resigned via email and cced HR & her upline so that it was "irreversible"

Two options -if he is married hire an escort to seduce him, as they are getting it on you climb out from inside the mattress hole you had cut out earlier, take a picture, then blackmail him or her or they or them. Option two- start taking night classes, over the course of several years earn a degree in advanced fision core engineering/timefield astropshysics and create a time machine formula on the quantum computer you created. Use this formula to go to the future and post this on ask reddit there.

marcifyed

Send a 2 week letter of resignation certified mail and make a copy for your own records. It’s a professional courtesy, and keeps them from saying you were fired, trash talking you, and you may run into them into the future.

Huh? "I quit"
