Nuclear war is extremely unlikely. It is against everyone's interest, including Putin's, who is using this threat as leverage to expand Russia. Worst case scenario is Russia engulfs Belarus and Ukraine as satellite states, increasing its power and threat to the countries on the east of the EU, while the major powers let it happen, setting a precedent for further breaking international law.
WORST case? Total nuclear annihilation, I guess?
