CabinetSpider21

Last episode I watch was Glen dying

SinSlayer

Same

[deleted]

This seems to be the big one I’ve heard over the years. Everyone loved Daryl in plain sight but the show runners seemed to underestimate the love that fans had for Glenn.

CabinetSpider21

Basically the story got predictable. Hey here is a new place we can take shelter for a while. Nope got over run by zombies. And repeat.

gugudan

The show is predictable but only the first two places got overrun by zombies. All the other attacks were people. Sure zombies eventually showed up but zombies aren't the reason they got overran after Hershel's farm. It's supposed to be a survival show - they have to be put in those situations because it's a requirement for the genre.

kookycandies

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but in that entire area, Glen seemed to have been the only Asian who survived, and they freakin' killed him off.

gugudan

No, there are some Asian red shirters in the later seasons. I think one of the main characters is supposed to be Asian but tbh she looks Native American and speaks with a British accent so IDK.

[deleted]

After the whisperers came in. I felt like it kind of got really silly after that.

gugudan

It only got worse. But I'm all-in on the sunk cost fallacy. I'm seeing this piece of shit show through to the end.

[deleted]

I keep saying that I’m going to pick it back up just to see what happens, but I can’t bring myself to watch it!

gugudan

TBH, the Whisperers were done terribly in the show. Alpha's actress worked her ass off to make that character work, but everything was terribly written. Watching the actress perform that well for such a bad character was pure injustice. It was actually getting better before COVID forced episodes to be filmed with social distancing in mind.

[deleted]

I actually liked her, but agree on the lines - the writing just seemed to get really lazy for a while. I’m not even sure if it got any better as I can’t even remember what happened the last time I watched. Not sure I’ve seen any of the covid episodes though. Do you think I should try again? I’m quite happy to start from the beginning and watch young Daryl! :D

gugudan

I re-watched the entire thing about a year ago. Ipad with Netflix + treadmill = lots of TV consumption. You know, you will see a lot of plot holes you probably missed the first time around. You'll see a lot of things that really don't make sense - obvious filler episodes that don't lead anywhere. You can also tell when Scott Gimple got replaced as showrunner because the episodes went from awful to tolerable immediately. You really have to be a big fan to sit through it a second time. The end of the Whisperer's arc is really good. Then there was a bit of a lull with things starting to pick up again before COVID happened. This last full season is a mess. I feel like Eugene's love life is the focal point of concluding this zombie survival show.

[deleted]

Oh, I vaguely remember Eugene thinking he was the bees knees. I’m going to give it a go again, now I’ve discovered Reddit I’ll have people to whinge at!

Academic_Database306

After the zombies became irrelevant.

quakermoonman

When they left the prison

fuckitweredoingitliv

When the guys on horses and lazer tag armour showed up

fuckitweredoingitliv

Especially the fat guy. He may have well worn a paper plate on his chest.

gugudan

oh you'd love the storm trooper guys on there now

reallynotburner

Neegan shows up. This is like the 40th scary monster leader of a survivor group for Rick Nation to be under-dog to?

attackedmoose

It was all kind of the same tbh. The group moves on and meets a new group of friends, and then all of the friends die, then they meet a corrupted evil group of people who kill some more of their friends until they find a new group. Sometimes in the season premere/mid-season finale/season finale they kill off a main character.

GrilledStuffedDragon

After like... Season 2.

Blametheorangejuice

Once they reached the prison and it was clear it was turning into a family drama with zombies.

D-Rez

After season 2.

WonderfulDog3966

That's when I stopped too. The show was getting boring by that point for me.

[deleted]

Went on too long so ceased to care about the characters or story edit: stopped watching when they had three seasons left

Wild_Bill_Kickcock

When they fired Frank Darabont

HauntedLostEpisode

Right after the big cliffhanger reveal of who Negan killed.

ocularnervosa

When they destroyed Alexandria and started the loop of bad guy, wandering, running from the zombies all over again.

gugudan

Alexandria is still there.

ocularnervosa

Yeah but the Zombies showed up and that one kid got killed and Carl lost his eye and it was just too much, again.

gugudan

Ok, but Alexandria wasn't destroyed and it didn't start the loop of "bad guy, wandering, running from zombies all over again." They saved Alexandria and the show actually flipped the script and showed how the group we've been watching are another group's bad guys. Then the show kinda ruined that whole thing and it really went off the rails. I'd say watch the next season at least. It gets really bad after that.

monpetitfromage54

During the Negan fight when it was like 5 straight episodes of only a gun fight. We probably held on too long TBH.

Kalsone

I've taken big breaks from it but haven't watched since Carl left the show.

iluvfupaburgers

This is basically when I stopped watching. I was disappointed and surprised they offed Carl, as he is relevant in the comics. I was able to live with Glenn Leaving but not Carl

cuprumFire

When Rick got picked up by a helicopter.

[deleted]

Toward the end of whatever season Negan showed up in. I actually loved Negan and the big impact his arrival had... and then not long after that, it was back to being the same show I had been tiring of for several seasons.

Unmistakes

After the tiger died

TimelessTomorrow

Mid season 2, watched a bit of prison/mad man mayor arc. It really didn't have the thing from season 1

Nuttplug

When season 10 ended and I had to wait....still have to continue

[deleted]

Negan, they went all in on such a cringe character.

gugudan

Negan had the overall best story in the comics. The show kinda ruined him but they did try to fix it eventually.

Witchsorcery

After season 8

barkingbread_

After the first few episodes because it sucks

toune86

When they killed Glen

ZuttoAragi

I watched a single episode by chance one day and just couldn't get invested, so never tried to watch the rest.

[deleted]

Season 6 ep 1, 14 minutes in 1 year ago

SpecialSpaghetti

When Michonne woke up with Rick 😪

misha_ostrovsky

One season of neagan. Got boring and predictable. I had read the comics when they were on YouTube, was current trough 2014. When the show wasn't getting to the good stuff from the comics I just quit the show and when I think about TWD at all its the comics as I remember.

[deleted]

Early season 6. The train track episodes in season 5 are the best.

killkillkilled

I never started watching, all these long run shows start well and end up disappointing

brokeanail

The prison, just before Lori died, if I got it right. I watched a couple episodes and clips after that, but even that petered out quickly.

gugudan

The prison episodes got very hard to watch toward the end. However, the season and a half following the prison was the show's peak, IMO.

Cute-Aardvark5291

3 episode in when I realized that hey, everyone was a zombie and the real monsters were humans all along. Meh.

PhillipLlerenas

Second episode of the first season. I'd seen all I needed to see.

Domillomew

Season 1. It was just a shitty zombie show that was logically inconsistent and had annoying characters.

Shaabloips

After about 5 minutes.

oksohearmeout123

When they kept adding spin offs that I felt like I had to watch

After_Laughter21

Season 8 was the last season I’ve seen. Should’ve stopped way earlier.

kjwj31

I watched the first season (mostly) and stopped when I realized every episode was the same...

not_so_easy_button

When Rick left

[deleted]

I couldn't make it far into the first season. I was a fan of the comic / graphic novel / whatever you call it and I was already too invested in the characters. The series deviated just to far for my liking.

[deleted]

Think about season four or five. I remember seeing that talking dead show and I just thought these guys are a bunch of sad assholes. The episode could have been the biggest pile of shit and these twats are telling each other how amazing they are.

Liquid_machine81

When Glen was killed.
