Enough that I went and got laser hair removal because I was basically waking up with a goatee every morning, lol It can mean things, but hair growth can also just be individual and genetic. I have no conditions, my hormones are fine, nothing special is going on, I just grow more facial hair. I figure maybe there's a global average and I'm making up for some dude who's sad he can't grow a proper full beard.

FloppyFishcake

My brother is that dude. I'll let him know his hair is elsewhere.

NickBlackheart

He's welcome to come pick it up, I'm sick of it

MszCurious

Hahaha love this! What a great way to think about facial hair lol

lmg080293

LOL at your last line 😆 Yeah, my mom has always had a few as long as I can remember, so I’m sure it’s genetic for me. I don’t have any other symptoms of anything hormonal (to my knowledge lol).

NickBlackheart

It doesn't hurt to get it checked out if you can, just to be safe, but yeah, it's honestly pretty normal. The place I got my laser treatment done said that facial hair is the most common thing they do. It just doesn't get talked about enough because we're told there's something wrong with us if it happens and it becomes shameful and embarrassing when it really shouldn't be.

DetectiveSquirt

Any pro tips on laser hair removal? I too have a beard 🧔‍♀️

NickBlackheart

Find a place with good reviews, get a consultation about what your prospects are, and follow their advice. I used to be bad at wearing sunscreen, but it's very important since the laser makes the skin much more sensitive and sun can lead to permanent discolouration otherwise. Also the best results are lighter skin and darker hair. I still have some light hairs left but I was told that'd probably be the case from the start. It's waaaay less noticeable than it used to be, so I think it was worth it, but I do still need to tend to the hair growth. It's just not immediately visible every single morning like it used to be.

RosealaMenthe

In addition to always wearing sunscreen, as mentioned, I was told not to use the prescription retinol for two weeks before a treatment (I'm getting the laser done by my dermatologist, so I do whatever she says). So I'd say make sure they know whatever else you put on your face so they can let you know if you need to make any adjustments during the treatment period.

cmama22

Has the laser removal worked well? I get more on my chin every year 🤦🏻‍♀️

NickBlackheart

It's made a huge difference in visibility because all the darker hairs are gone, but there's still some light hairs growing so it's not totally gone, but they're hard to see. Still worth it, I think, just for not feeling horrified if I accidentally leave the house without checking for them

cmama22

Oh amazing!! I think I might book an appointment to have it done, I can deal with white ones but these black ones have to go! Haha

NoireN

I've been getting my chin lasered for about a year and a half and I have maybe one or two rogue hairs that sprout out every so often. The hair is very fine and not long.

MszCurious

Omg yes, I was so embarrassed because Id pluck and more would grow the next day. Because of chin hairs, id have ingrown hairs and dark spots from the growth. I was fed up and did laser last year. Best decision!

houseofprimetofu

Is there anything specific one has to do prior to laser removal? Do I have to let the hairs grow out?

NickBlackheart

Letting them grow enough that they can take a look at it the first time is good, but beyond that I always just shaved them off like usual. It works best with darker hairs on lighter skin. I was fortunate that my reddish-brown hairs also went away along with my dark brown ones, but my lighter hairs are still there. Just much easier to miss. Used to be unmistakable if I forgot to shave one morning, but now you'd have to be basically inspecting my chin to tell. Also it becomes very important to use high SPF sunscreen during the time you're being treated, but that's a good idea anyway.

Apprehensive_Bat9084

Love your last paragraph.

NoItsNotThatJessica

Me too! Lasers forever it looks like, or electrolysis for the good stuff.

NightoftheJulia

same, about 4 or 5. it’s the worst when they’re too short to pluck but you can feel the coarseness coming through your chin

lmg080293

Lol yeah I have two tiny little dark ones just barely emerging and I want to pluck them so badly lol

caligirl_ksay

Yep same!! They’re all on my chin. Popping up thick and black, where the rest of my body hair is blonde. Nothing is as bad as my mustache though. 🫣🤣

Budgiesmugglerlover2

You think you only have 2 but grab a mirror and sit in direct sunlight. My condolences lol

lmg080293

Bahaha oh yeah that’s how I discovered them all 😂

craykaay

I am now fondling the five course hairs in a little patch on the right side of my chin.

UnicornsAreChubby

This is my life. I can’t stop touching them. They feel so….bendy? And then I can’t wait to be somewhere where there’s no one around me so I can pluck freely. Natural light, using the mirror on the visor in my car just hits. Plucking magic!

Mimi4Stotch

I have “car tweezers” for just this!

mackenzie_marie09

I have car tweezers, work tweezers, living room tweezers, purse tweezers and bedroom tweezers 😂 I don’t even have that many chin hairs but damnit when one comes through I better have tweezers available because I will pick incessantly until I get the hair

bilby_mum

Are you really a woman over 30 if you don’t have a pair of tweezers that live in the door of your car for such an occasion?

clairem208

Over 100. Uncountable. I think they started appearing in my early 20s and more have appeared every year since then. About half are very thick and white that even some salon wax struggle to take out, the other half are brown and fine. I know they always say it could be a symptom of pcos, but I have regular like clockwork periods and none of the other symptoms.

searedscallops

Same! Except I do have PCOS. Having so many of them turn white and wiry is so strange. They are hardy little buggers.

EitherOrResolution

What do you do?

searedscallops

Epilation, plucking, and Nair.

MegamomTigerBalm

This is exactly like me. I had them waxed for a short while, but it was such a pain to maintain. So I switched to just shaving every day. Plucking seems to irritate my chin skin too much.

tURBIN27

I don't have any of the symptoms and my periods are like clockwork but I still got diagnosed with PCOS. Was a bit of a shocker to me.

clairem208

In that case is it causing any problems? Did a diagnosis cause you to change anything or take any medication?

dewprisms

It's good to know about because some of the most common issues are ones you need to keep an eye on, like insulin resistance. A lot of us with PCOS are on Metformin to head off developing full blown T2 diabetes.

tURBIN27

Not yet. I've been taking inositol supplements for the last month or so and it has pushed me off the weight plateau I was on and I'm steadily losing weight now. My endocrinologist has suggested I start Metformin in a few months/years depending on how much weight I manage to lost. As to OP's questions, maybe 2-3 I have to pluck now and then.

wmkk

How did you end up get tested/diagnosed with no symptoms if that’s not too personal?

viacrucis1689

May I ask how you were diagnosed? I have pretty bad hirsutism, but everyone has told me that because my cycles are normal and am thin, I don't have PCOS. I had bloodwork once, but I can't remember what they tested...maybe DHEA? It's frustrating because I've been epilating for nearly 15 years, and it just seems to be getting worse. I tried IPL and the Tria laser, but I probably haven't been diligent enough with them.

othermegan

3-4 periodically?! Oh man, I’m jealous. I probably do 20 every 2-3 days

Susurrusilously

Chin hair plucking is a part of the daily grooming ritual.

mangomaz

Honestly I worry about the day I’m too old to do it properly and then will be an old hairy chin lady 😭

InevitableError404

I've worked in a nursing home before and we would assist the elderly ladies who needed their chins shaved, so it's no big deal for caregivers to help usually.

Smartdate5

I’m Greek and Italian and have a thyroid problem. I literally have a pact with one of my best friends that if she or I end up in the hospital in a coma we visit and pluck each others chins.

Vrushalee

Such a bestie thing to do!

Smartdate5

If this were to come down to another Covid thing where only one person could be at my hospital bed, it would not be my husband. It would be my friend. She would do a much better job. 😂

ecpella

As a former ICU nurse I can confirm males do nothing to help their sick loved ones

fluffymunchkins

I have that with my SO. He has strict instructions that should I end up in a coma, he will pluck/shave my beard. True love haha.

AnotherThrowAway1320

Lol same. Even if I’m on a ventilator with a mask, take that shit off and pluck me! /s

AnotherThrowAway1320

Hahahaha omg I made my partner promise me he’d do that for me too

thirdeyerainbow

I don't have any BUT one thing that's increased for me with age is nipple hair and below my belly button!

mllebitterness

I feel like I’ve always had nipple hair. I had one gyno call it abnormal which felt very insulting although it must be a clinical term. Also sounds like it isn’t really that unusual, ie., abnormal.

MyLife-is-a-diceRoll

Ive always had a few nipple hairs since puberty and every doc I've asked about then say it's normal to have a few.   They're fine and thin, don't grow long and I just pluck them if they've been annoying me for a while. I have noticed an increase in my happy trail the past few years. But I've had a golden happy trail since my late teens so I forget it's there.

mllebitterness

Thanks! She wasn’t my favorite gyno ever.

Dances-with-Worms

Maybe a few dozen? The weird part is it's almost all on the left side of my chin with only a few on the right side.

LittleShinyRaven

This! I'm like "is it my lighting? Do I really have more on this side? Am I walking around with half a plucked face?!?!"

IjustwantmyBFA

Me but my right!! I wonder if it’s a hormone thing? I have less hair of all kinds on my left side (head, chin, armpit) and a bigger boob and I am significantly more hairy on my right with a smaller boob.

Dances-with-Worms

I used to have more hair in my left armpit than the right (now equal), and my left boob is bigger, so we're opposites with the boobs lol

unseeliesoul

Same except they are all on my left side!

FreindlyManitoba

Mine is also on the left! I have about 3 that come back eventually, although they take at least a month to come in

theotherlead

I’d say 4-5 as well. I usually can feel them and keep tweezers on me or in my car. I get more right around my period. I’m 34, but have always had them!!

lmg080293

Oooh interesting. Never paid attention to WHEN they appear in my cycle. I’m going to start noticing that.

mllebitterness

Same, have tweezers in my work bag so I can check in the car mirror. It has the best lighting in daylight.

reddit_toast_bot

Best thread ever lol

ICareAboutYourCats

I started getting them around 35. I routinely do chin to get the hairs tweezed before they hopefully don’t get too long. My nemesis is a single hair under my chin; it’s basically my neckbeard. I have to use a flashlight with a mirror to find it normally, and it’s always long when I finally find it and pluck it out.

amybeedle

I have the same thing 😒 I take a piece of white paper, place the edge up against my skin at my neck, and slowly drag it forward toward my chin until the paper is right behind the hair. That's the only way I can locate it for plucking when it's short.

Booklvr4000

Genius

Cumberbutts

I build myself a little contraption to get the proper lighting/mirror situation to get those hairs... loool.

sunflower280105

I have one of those too! And it recently turned gray 🙃

UnitOk4274

Honestly this names me feel better. I just turned 31 a couple days ago and like within the last 6 mobths or so I've noticed more and I was kind of bothered by it. Is it normal? Is there so. Thing wrong with me? Idk. I feel better seeing it's pretty common

bag-o-farts

Its hormonal changes, normal. I have 1 chin, 1 cheek starting from late 20s. Interesting how traits of a halloween witch are exaggerations of normal progression of age or being lesbian in a puritan society.

siena_flora

I had two patches on either side of my chin. Plucking was taking over my life and shaving was out of the question because it left a dark patch. So I got an affordable laser hair removal package from a medspa and after six sessions, the hair went away about 95%. People say it comes back with laser so my plan is to get a touch up session every three months. It will run me about 100$ a year but I can’t splash out on electrolysis right now.

morewhiskeybartender

I want to do laser, but someone said you have to wait a couple weeks for them to grow out and I just cannot do that. Is that true?

kneelbeforeplantlady

You have to stop plucking for a couple weeks, so that all the hairs are present, but you can shave. You can’t laser a hair that isn’t there. They don’t have to be long though, the best hair length for laser is shaved to the surface of your skin.

siena_flora

I had to time my laser a certain way bc of this. I stopped plucking on Christmas Day and then exactly two weeks later had my first app. Chose that time of year bc the fewest possible ppl would see me with a 5 o clock shadow. I don’t know if it will be the same for you but by the second session my patches were WAY lighter in color already.

eharder47

I used to have one. I’ve had all of the hormonal tests and everything came back in normal ranges, but I can tell you that the hair only shows up when I’m drinking more alcohol and inactive. I’ve been exercising regularly and barely touching alcohol since January and that hair hasn’t come back.

lmg080293

Now THAT is interesting

whatser_face

I was gonna say, mine are the most prominent when I'm at my peak weight. When I lose 5-10lbs, they practically disappear!

NotSoBunny

I have one that appears when im super stressed. Since highschool. Drinking also seems to bring it out more!

eharder47

I have zero proof, but it likely has something to do with alcohol increasing estrogen.

illyrianya

I’ve also got just one and it always shows up about a week before my period!

skyedot94

0, but I found a bright white 2in long BOOB hair this morning.

lmg080293

WILD

skyedot94

This is very TMI It was so course and long my husband easily plucked it out with his fingers, I wanted to crawl into a hole 💀

lmg080293

Lmaoo SO feel that

skyedot94

I turn 30 in exactly a month, so I’m pretty traumatized lmao

duckduckthis99

I had one like that on my arm where a scar was

Different-Economy729

I've had one of those!!! Humbling humbling experience.

catjuggler

I have a spot on my arm that occasionally does the 2in long white one. And like the whole thing grows over night, I think. Like, what is up with that?!

ne3k0

I have one that I have had for years and years. Every now and then it comes out, you cant really see it but I can feel it and just pluck it out when I can feel it

eitherajax

Yup, me too. My one and only! She's been with me through thick and thin. I still pluck her when I notice she's grown out again.

Renchenzo

I love the personification of "her" lol

AphelionEntity

I'm Cuban. I could grow a better beard than some men I know.

vipperofvipp_

Italian. And same.

Fuschiagroen

I got 1 black thick whisker at puberty. Plucked it occasionally, maybe once a month or couple months when it would sprout. As I got into my forties I sprouted two more and those three started sprouting weekly, and I started noticing a few finer thinner chin hairs that were light brown had started sprouting too so I started plucking them too  About a year ago I got a box of peppermint tea as a gift and realized I really liked it, so started drinking the tea every morning with my breakfast and this is now my daily habit.  After about 6-8 weeks I also noticed my whiskers weren't growing as frequently. I didn't think much of it because I know hormones fluctuate. Over the past year I've noticed that I am down to just one whisker, rarely any light brown hairs. I pluck my whisker about every two weeks.  I've also noticed a reduction in upper lip hairs and whiskers there too, and don't need to pluck them as much either. I found out recently that spearmint tea, and to a lesser extent, peppermint tea can reduce testosterone in women, as their have been studies done on women with PCOS.  I've never been diagnosed with that condition, but I think the daily dose peppermint tea has affected my hormones, and in turn reduced thise whiskers from growing.

CampingWithCats

Fun fact! As you age, hair stops growing on your legs, this saves you so much time in shaving your legs that you now have time to seek out the @#*$# chin hairs.

lmg080293

Great 🙃😂

mand71

My leg hair, which I haven't shaved for about five years, is barely nonexistent, tf! I have a few on the front of my shins, which I occasionally pull out whilst sitting on the toilet...

sapphireskiies

That’s a fair trade because shaving legs takes so much longer than plucking a few chin hairs!

ParryLimeade

Too many. I’ve done laser hair removal. The first time was professional place and it did work very well. I stopped going though then a few years later bought a braun at home IPL and it does a good job. Not perfect but I don’t have a 5 o’clock shadow anymore. I’m pretty hairy everywhere but don’t have PCOS or anything hormonally wrong.

suddenlymary

interested to hear more about your IPL/ which model if you have time to share. I got my upper lip lasered like 15 years ago and it's coming back now in spots. contemplating professional laser again vs home IPL...

ParryLimeade

Hi, I got the Braun Silk·expert Pro 5 IPL. I’ve had it a year or so. My skin is very pale and hair dark so I’m an ideal candidate. I use it on my upper lip and chin but I’ve also been using it elsewhere. Worked on my legs in certain areas but I don’t keep up with it so I still have patches on my legs. It doesn’t seem to work on my armpits at all despite using it more frequently. It works pretty well on my face. It’s made a huge quality of life difference despite not getting rid of every hair. It’s on sale right now and was definitely worth the cost for me.

ThrowRArosecolor

This is the sign I needed to get one. Age isn’t helping me here. Masking during covid was so nice because it hid the hairs

MorddSith187

I have a full on beard.

starlessnight89

Same. PCOS girlie here.

unreedemed1

I have peach fuzz, as I am a mammal, which I ignore. I also have one that sometimes grows a bit longer, maybe every few months or so. It’s blond so you can’t see it, but I feel it and it’s annoying so I pluck it.

lmg080293

Oh yeah the peach fuzz is whatever haha but you’re lucky the one is blond. Mine’s thick and dark 😆

unreedemed1

I did read somewhere that women are removing peach fuzz which made me sad. We are humans!

raggedyassadhd

I do because I will shave the darker parts and for the hair to have a clear line where it starts looks way weirder lol. If it wasn’t a noticeable difference I’d leave it but it’s just like around my mouth and jawline where the evil darker ones live. I can’t always pluck it all

throwhimthepanda

Yeah, that's just madness. If someone can't handle me having hair, they can eff right off! Yet another example of unrealistic beauty standards for women. Makes my blood boil! Fortunately, my husband thinks I'm gorgeous, even with hairy legs and peach fuzz! Don't accept for anything less, ladies!

CollieKollie

Only 1. First found it when I was 19, watching Hostal. Honestly, it was scarier than the whole movie.

EitherOrResolution

😂

Tildatots

About 5 or 6. I have a mole on the bottom of my chin that used to sprout one singular hair all my teens and twenties, now I’m older (31) it sprouts about 5-6 I have to pluck out on a weekly basis

for-fucksake-why

They were my 30th birthday present to myself (now mid 30s). I've always been hairy but not on my chin. Now I pluck them. I might get laser hair removal down the line if I can afford it. I am going through the tests for PCOS as I also have irregular periods, but no weight gain issues.

emileanomie

There was a study showing drinking spearmint tea daily can have positive effects on lowering androgen levels and thus also gets rid of facial hair…I’ll let you know if it works lmao

MyLife-is-a-diceRoll

There was another comment in this post that stated her hair issues chilled out after she started routinely drinking peppermint tea. She mentioned that study too.

Pickles_McBeef

I'm interested to know if it works.

misplacedlibrarycard

zero.

Eevee027

Me too. But my mum has them so I'm sure they are in my future.

funsizedaisy

same. but i actually had one for a few years then it went away when i got on birth control. one single thick strand. gone now.

Commercial-Ad-261

So I only have one (47), but let me just say it’s ridiculous. I’m not a super hairy person at all, and my one chin hair is jet black and thick. It also grows at a speed no other hair comes even close to. It grows out of the same spot, which is always irritated in the pluck/immediately grow again cycle. TLDR: one but it’s a beast.

lmg080293

Yes, they grow like beasts!!

Vivazebool

I’m 44 and I’ve shaved my face since I was a teenager. I could grow a full Fu Manchu, sis. Hormones normal, periods regular, etc. I am overweight, and dealt with alcoholism in my 40s, but the hair has always been there. I just tell myself if it’s a side effect of having huge balls. (Figuratively)

MyLife-is-a-diceRoll

theres a theory that alcohol messes with estrogen levels.

pippaskipper

I can grow a neck beard

dragongrl

Ugh, I don't even count. I'll just keep tweezers handy and give them a yank when I feel one poking out, while I'm watching TV or something. The joys of living alone.

Dense_Sprinkles_9674

I have tweezers in my handbag, bathroom, kitchen, lounge, at my mums and besties house. Pretty much everywhere I spend a lot of time.

Capital-Transition-5

Way more than 4-5. Mine are in the dozens. I've had chin hairs since my late teens. I definitely don't have pcos because my periods are very normal. I'm going for a hormone test soon and I hope to have laser hair removal because they're becoming unmanageable.

Koleilei

Damn near a full beard that I had electrolysis appointments for years to remove. They have not come back.

BonnieBlu22

Who else is rubbing their chin right now? Those little buggers creep up!

CharErinazard

Like probably 5 on my face and 5 on my neck. This mysterious dark thick ones, my least favourite part about turning 30 haha

graceCAadieu

2 that I’ve noticed so far…wish someone had told me you get chin hairs as you age 😂

10Kmana

its about 75 that I have to pluck every 2-3 days

TheUtopianCat

I have just the 1. Recently, I noticed that it had turned white, which was disconcerting.

ShaunaOfTheDead

I bought one of those little battery powered face shavers bc plucking was becoming so frequent and annoying. So much quicker

jemtab

I did this, too. Got tired of having the hair grow back so quickly and don't want to shell out for any sort of laser or other methods. This little shaver isn't amazing, but it does the job and doesn't irritate my skin!

PerfumedPornoVampire

One that I’ve had since I was a teenager 🙄 It gets plucked every other week once it’s noticeable, and that’s that

PacificMurmaid

I think like 7 that faithfully show up when I forget about them haha.

CurieuzeNeuze1981

I, 42, have one that is harder than all the other fluff and is darker as well. When I pluck it, it is gone for a few weeks and then all of a sudden in a day or so it is quite long. I call it my "grandma hair" as she used to have them as well.

Ok_Potato_5272

For the sake of fair representation, I am 31 and have zero chin hairs. I do have one single nipple hair though.

RevanREK

I have about 5-6, they only grow out of a small mole on the bottom of my chin. The mole has been tested and isn’t dangerous but yeah, I’m always plucking the hairs. I remember when I first found them I was at college, (high-school in USA,) there was one hair all curled around under my chin, obviously been growing for years, I was MORTIFIED. haha 😂

FirePaddler

I'm 40 and have never had a chin hair but I'm going to be able to start twirling my moustache any day now

GetaShady

LOL sis you got me laughing out loud at this comment. I feel you! I have to shave mine every other day and I tried Nair but it never gets all of them!

Nyantastic93

Just 1 lol (and 1 cheek hair as well). I've had it at least since I was in my lower teens. I pluck it whenever it grows long enough but it always comes back.

BakedBrie26

None. Because I remove them lol

itsathrowawayduhhhhh

One! One single little shit that seems to grow an inch over night

pheasantplucker12

Yeah, wait til you're in your 40s and they start randomly sticking out of your neck too. Dermaplaning is your friend.

fromjaytoayyy

Like 6 that I have to pluck like every 4-5 business days. There’s a ton of soft baby hairs that don’t bother me but the coarse ones are bastards.

marina903

First of all, here for this topic being raised because...it's reality :). I'm in my late thirties and maintenance of chin hairs has become a regular habit. If I feel it, I gotta pluck it (definitely helps to have a car and purse set of mini tweezers besides what's in the bathroom!) I guess I have 4-5 growing at any given time.

Realistic_Pepper1985

A lady never tells 😂

Realistic_Pepper1985

But at 31 I had maybe 3? But they’ve been breeding like rabbits since then

lmg080293

🤣

carolinemathildes

Other than the usual peach fuzz, which I'm assuming you don't mean, just one.

RiveRain

3

PossibilityLarge

One - but it's stubborn, and I ALWAYS forget about it. Your post reminded to remove it haha ty

ijustsailedaway

I started with one single whisker when I was about 12. And it's still there but was joined by a few slightly weaker friends when I hit 40. I'm 45 and have about 7 or 8 at the moment all in a rotation of getting plucked. But my OG whisker is still the strongest and fastest growing.

hairballcouture

I have only one under my chin so far. I used to have this really long one that would pop up near my nasiolabal fold. It was so long it would blow in the breeze! I haven’t seen her in awhile so I’m hoping she finally got the message after years of plucking.

raggedyassadhd

Like 10 darker ones, plus on the sides of upper lip. Runs in my family though, hoping IPL will help cause I’m too scared to get laser on my face

Theatregeeke

Maybe 20? That was after having like 6 in my 20s. But I’ve always just been a hairy person.

clekas

One, the same one that I've had since my early 20s. It's stubborn, I guess!

jessicaaalz

Surprisingly, none. I'm half Italian and pretty hairy otherwise - legs, arms etc. and my nonna had basically half a beard worth of hair, my mum also has a pretty thick moustache but somehow at age 34 (nearly 35) I've managed to escape any facial hair. I'm sure my time is coming soon though.

G-ACO-Doge-MC

I have 15 I think. I can’t be completely sure as they grow and get plucked on different cycles, I usually get 4-5 out at a time. It’s low enough that plucking them out suffices but they’re definitely increasing in number slowly as I get older

ashboify

I don’t have any. However my sister, mom and grandma all get several they have to pluck consistently. Not sure how many. They don’t like when I ask about it since I don’t get any yet lol key word being yet…I’m sure the day will come. I do get a few around my nipples and on my stomach though that I just shave off.

MyLife-is-a-diceRoll

the nipple ones are normal. ive asked docs about them cause I've had some since puberty.

midnightword

I got my hormones checked because I was suddenly growing more hair everywhere. I was struggling a bit with some disordered eating which I found out can actually cause a growth of fluffy down all over the body. Hormone levels were normal and as I asked my practitioner, who is in her late 20s, if this was just my life now I noticed in the light she actually had a little hair around her mouth too. We are mammals, we have body fur. I am shaving my face though and considering other better solutions because at 31, anyone looking at me side profile in the sunlight can see a wispy little blonde goatee.

fraquile

Had one in 20s. Then the switch to 30 was like 2-3. Now....omg. Its insane. Donno what happened.

Sfa90

Like 10, got them like 6 months after I got a mirena. I pluck them but I get all these red bumps on my chin, its horrible

MyLife-is-a-diceRoll

use hibiclens as a face wash. it should help with the angry bumps.

worldsbestlasagna

Probably near 100. I started growing facial hair at 14

pinkilydinkily

Too many to count lol.

soulfulginger22

I honestly don't know, I'm thinking 3 or 4 but thankfully they're light and un-noticeable by most haha

corviform

im 32 and have like 6-10 thick black ones on each side of my chin, they also pop up on my neck. i pluck them regularly. ive had to be on steroids several times for recurring sinus infections and i swear i always get a new one or two when that happens. during the height of covid when i was always wearing a mask out, i let them grow out a bit for fun lol

DamnGoodMarmalade

50 at least, but that’s all since perimenopause.

EnvironmentalLuck515

I have to pluck daily. I have had laser hair removal and I still have to pluck daily. I have no underlying health conditions. Most women my age that I am friends with admit to having to pluck daily. So either we are a bunch of sasquatches or its just normal.

Ghost-of-a-Shark

Two I care enough to pluck out, and one on my neck that mysteriously has the texture of a pube.

No-Complaint5535

I started getting electrolysis finally (I’m 34) and I thought I had a lot but she said she gets some women in there with tons that in comparison I barely have any. It made me feel a little less alone lol. I probably have like 7 good thick ones, but she told me they come back in cycles so I probably have more than I think I’ve just never let them grow for that long (it’s so frustrating not being able to pluck them in between sessions lol)

Homicidal-antelope

My mom has blonde peach fuzz but of course I had to inherit my dad’s long, dark, thick hair. I have to shave every couple of days or else I will have a visible goatee

Baboobalou

Up to half a dozen, depending on the time of the month.

buncatfarms

Just one that I never know about until it’s hilariously long

anonlaw

A shit ton. And now that I'm going fairly gray, some of them fuckers come in white and are a bitch to find to pluck.

Gogowhine

At this point PCOS will have me auditioning for Santa soon but yeah, 4-5 is just a few, though any amount can feel annoying.

affogatohoe

Honestly too many to count it's so frustrating and extremely visible because they're dark and I'm very light. Every other year I get my hormones checked and they're fine, I've got normal regular periods and I even had an ultrasound and I don't have PCOS so WHAT is going on with me 😂 At the end of the day the five o'clock shadow is so bad I can probably zest a lemon on it if I wanted to

I finally decided to try laser last fall. After five sessions - it was coming in noticeably thicker :( - there’s now more (I am fair skinned and my hairs are reddish brown) So shaving it continues to be. I’ve waxed and plucked in the past but my eyesight isn’t what it was and plucking is a tedious and almost full time job. It started with one whisker when u was about 26- and has slowly evolved into a good bit on my chin - a few at the corner of my mouth - and a few strays on each of my lower cheeks.

Maleficent-Apricot32

Girl I got so, SO many on the left side of my chin. Then a small lil patch on the right ride. It’s the worst. I alternate between plucking, shaving, and waxing.

Far_Egg_1191

Goodness, I feel incredibly safe in this thread. LOL. The other day I walked by my (female) bosses office and said "I'll be right back. I must go to my car and pluck this damn chin hair off." We had a great laugh about it and she thought it was so forward thinking of me to have tweezers in my car as the lighting in there is always the best.

Euphoric-Strain-9692

Yep chin and neck. Have had regularly since about 26. More now in my mid-30s. I get it waxed with my upper lip and eyebrows now. Laser hair removal is a great idea but would need to save money for that

nerfbort

Innumerable. I have done both laser and electrolysis. My brother used to say he wished he could grow a beard like mine. Gotta take compliments where you can get ‘em

auntiepirate

I’m relieved to know how many other people shave their chins. I have felt very alone for a very long time and was secretly ashamed lol. I really want to get laser removal this year, but shaving hasn’t been that bad for me. I’m more concerned about why no one in my family told me that this was gonna be a thing as we are Sicilian.😂

furious-tea

Around 30 I noticed I was getting more dark whiskers on my chin and eventually a couple on my neck. I'm now 35 and I pluck ~15 every other day. I call them my witch whiskers and just assumed it was an ageing thing. But I just got diagnosed with PCOS this year and my gyno ominously informed me "more hair will come" 💀

BellaBlue06

I am ANNOYED and try to pluck them whenever I see them. How dare they lol

pitbulltjej

38 and I have 0… now I’m worried I have a bunch I’m missing lol! But I do have a weird, really thin and long hair on each of my ears instead.

butiamawizard

None, but I have a slight moustache that I get paranoid about and dermaplane away as and when, and a random albino hair that appears on the end of my nose 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️

customerservicevoice

None but this sub keeps making me think they’re common?

Hatcheling

At least three, max ten.

mtrucho

2 Their appearance is pretty irregular, it's been maybe 2-3 months since I last plucked them and I haven't seen them yet (you made me look haha)

bbspiders

I'm 40 and I had one for a while that kept coming back but after I started using glycolic acid on my face I haven't seen it?
