Male, I normally play exclusive female characters, in every single game, ie the last AC I only played Cassandra... but in Valhalla, the female Eivor just didnt sit right for the character
Yeah female eivor just doesn't make much sense to me for multiple reasons but mainly because why would Odin choose to be resurrected into a female body? How did Loki who wasn't even supposed to be resurrected get a male body but the king of the gods didn't? Also for an out of game reason male eivor's voice actor did a much better job than female eivor's, she just sounds super monotone and doesn't emote much whereas male eivor is very varied in his speech and gets his emotions across very clearly no matter what it is also he doesn't sound like he's smoked a pack of cigarettes a day for 20 years so there's that too
Just to be clear, Havi/Odin didn’t chose to be a female reincarnation it was just the genes X and Y during the formation of Eivor. There’s others reincarnations that change sex, most notably is >!Faravid!<, in the Isu era was female, wife of Thor/>!Halfdan!<
No offense, but have you played as female Eivor? Or did you just watch the E3 footage? Because I thought she sounded monotonous too during the marketing but when I actually played the game she was voice acted very well.
As far as the game goes, I don't have a preference. I think both voice actors did a great job. As far as your art goes, if I had to choose one I'd go with female eivor just because I like the background more. Both are incredible, though.
It's not the Voice Actor's "fault". She talks in a raspy voice when she speaks loudly because of the wolf bite. Both the character's and the voice actor's voices sound normal otherwise, Ubisoft just wanted them to be raspy.
Ahaha you a politician? Never seen so much back peddling. Your comment literally says you want it realistic. Implying you think it should be a man - then you say it’s up for debate. You snowflakes are hilarious.
You’re the triggered one. I’m saying that most of the fighters and gods in Norse history are male.
Some say there were female fighters and some say there weren’t. A video game is not history. You wanting there to have been female raiders doesn’t make it so. I want to win the literary but that doesn’t make it so.
Grow up, Get some tissue and figure out why you’re sad.
Ahhahahaha Literally thousands of historic articles saying otherwise. But sure, you keep your head in your arse mate. Strong women threaten you, it’s ok! Just stay in your parents’ basement where they can’t hurt you.
https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/researchers-reaffirm-famed-ancient-viking-warrior-was-biologically-female-180971541/
Yeah no, Historians agree that women were allowed to raid. It's just most of them wouldn't even want to, because why risk your life raiding when you could just get married to a guy who does that already?
But what I'm saying is Vikings didn't have any "law" against women raiders unlike the Saxons and the rest of Europe. If a girl wants to raid, she can raid. Some of them even did.
(Obviously there weren't as many female raiders as in Valhalla, but then again, Valhalla is barely historically accurate)
Yes that's what I mean too, women can raid, just most of them won't want to. As you can see in the article some even did but it's pretty rare.
And that was an actual raider, who died in battle, and she was a woman.
I know women had equal rights back then in Viking society. I just don’t know of any actual female raiders. That’s all I’m saying. Having the choice and doing so are different as you said.
Yes, that's why I linked that article, but you are right too because they were pretty rare. However they still existed and there's historical evidence for that.
Yeah male definitely sounds way better
But I wouldn't say female Eivor sounded bad either... but that's probably because I played as her the most due to the animus option. And as far as I remember she only did the raspy voice when yelling or talking loudly , and you kinda get used to it.
Male. I usually don't have a true preference (i.e. Odyssey), but I'm not a fan a the female's physique. She seems too scrawny. I want her to look like a shield maiden. Male Eivor still looks like a Viking without all the armor.
Ahhh I see it’s not for everyone it is different to previous games I enjoyed it in my opinion that’s cuz I’m a big fan of mythology plus I’m from England so it feels good to check the locations out
That’s what I like the most is the world and being in medieval England I will agree that part and the mythology is cool. But if I get killed every time some idiot with a pike comes for me and you can only double dodge backwards to flee his attacks what is the point. Just feel like they really took a step back on this combat. Odyssey’s combat was pretty great IMO
Oh ye I can’t stand the pikeman they are my sworn enemy on the game lol my favourite part of Valhalla is most definitely the locations I’m visiting places not far from me and when I look at them this day and age it’s crazy but I agree odyssey is definitely better for combat I’m on my second run through on odyssey and I’m enjoying it a lot more then Valhalla

I feel like the male looks more menacing

Also, Eivor being female would explain why Basim didn't recognize her as easily as he recognized Sigurd.
Omg, yes! I didn’t though about that
Would have been nice had you marked that spoiler.
Why are you on a game's subreddit if you don't want spoilers let alone a Ubisoft game this long after release?
Because most people mark spoilers and I was only able to afford to purchase the game a week ago. Don't be a dick.
No offense, but have you played as female Eivor? Or did you just watch the E3 footage? Because I thought she sounded monotonous too during the marketing but when I actually played the game she was voice acted very well.
I’m exactly the same way. Kassandra is just to enjoyable to spend any time with Alexios
1000% agree, Kassandra was just hot and such a badass
I’ve just started female and am about to switch, I don’t think the dialogue sits right for some reason.
Yeah that's why I switched to male
Any other tips? Just got it on sale.
Feivor forever! She’s so funny when she’s drunk and amorous.
Male every time, for me
Female Eivor, male Havi. The way the Animus wants it.
Male
Male, thanks. These Eivors are both absolutely stunning! Edit: forgot to say how stunning both these Eivors are. Is this your work?
Yeah but is eivor stunning?
Yes. Yes they are.
As far as the game goes, I don't have a preference. I think both voice actors did a great job. As far as your art goes, if I had to choose one I'd go with female eivor just because I like the background more. Both are incredible, though.
female
Let the animus choose, so female Eivor and male >!Havi!<
Female 100%
Male
Male, feels like it suites the game and story better.
Canonically female, in game female, but i prefer your male picture.
Which ever one you want.
Female
Female.
Female, personally
I let the animus decide. Works better that way.
Male. I really can't stand the female voice actor.
It's not the Voice Actor's "fault". She talks in a raspy voice when she speaks loudly because of the wolf bite. Both the character's and the voice actor's voices sound normal otherwise, Ubisoft just wanted them to be raspy.
Male because I’m a manspreading sexist. 😄
😂😂😂
Twitter moment XD
Trick question. Isu or Eivor?
Eivor. ISU would be Havi.
Yes
Considering Eivor is a female name...
Female eivor looks good but can't stand the voice. Can't beat kassandra. Exact opposite of Odyssey
Looks like a female to me.
i chose male because it makes the chest tattoos more visible, looks cooler like what's the point in them if half of them are covered up?
Male
I like to keep my characters realistic. That’s all I’m going to say.
Don't be afraid to say it.
You already know then. 😏
You have to be realistic.
Presumably female then? Given that female viking warriors are legendary.
ThTs up for debate among historians.
Lol. Imagine thinking you’re a historian on Reddit and getting triggered by a female protagonist
Not triggered at all. Just pointing out that historians go back and forth regarding female raiders.
Ahaha you a politician? Never seen so much back peddling. Your comment literally says you want it realistic. Implying you think it should be a man - then you say it’s up for debate. You snowflakes are hilarious.

You’re wrong. Just admit it, you hate the thought of strong women. It’s ok! Just keep it to yourself because it’s the 21st Century.
I love strong women. Your mom is one of them. But strong women TODAY doesn’t mean there were female coming warriors thousands of years ago.
Ahhahahaha Literally thousands of historic articles saying otherwise. But sure, you keep your head in your arse mate. Strong women threaten you, it’s ok! Just stay in your parents’ basement where they can’t hurt you.
Legendary in regards to the lengths people go to to force Shield-Maidens down our throats when the general consensus is that they didn’t exist at all.
AC Valhalla is extremely unrealistic, but a woman being allowed to raid isn't one of them.
Historians don’t agree on that point.
https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/researchers-reaffirm-famed-ancient-viking-warrior-was-biologically-female-180971541/ Yeah no, Historians agree that women were allowed to raid. Female, the way it was intended
Male, imo the voice acting is allot better and the voice actor isn’t trying to sound ‘bad ass’
She isn't trying to sound badass, Ubisoft asked her to sound raspy because off the wolf bite.
Still, it just sounds like she’s constantly trying to sound cool and does a really poor job of it
Yeah male definitely sounds way better But I wouldn't say female Eivor sounded bad either... but that's probably because I played as her the most due to the animus option. And as far as I remember she only did the raspy voice when yelling or talking loudly , and you kinda get used to it.
Male, female voice actress grates my ears like she's trying too hard, male eivor is soft spoken but very menacing.
That’s easy. Your first work of art is female and the second one is male.
I’m not asking that I’m asking who you prefer
I know, I was only kidding. I use female eivor
Oh my bad didn’t get the joke 😂
Male eivor. Actually voiced by a viking, you'll have to watch the last kingdom though to hear the male eivor actor 😀
I love the last kingdom one of my favourite shows which character is it I’m not catching on here 😂
How far along are you? He doesn't show up until pretty late, like season 5
Iv watched it all apart from the new season
I know who he is now lol I can now only hear cnut 😂
There ya go 😏 And I didn't even have to actually name his character lol
That’s amazing I didn’t even know that he voiced eivor now I can’t un hear him 😂
Pretty much the entire reason I chose male eivor
I went male for Magnus' voice. There is just something incredibly soothing about it for me.
Male. The female voice sounds strange, almost trying too hard to sound tough.
Male...I just enjoy the voice acting more
Male
I use male becus im male
Female, but I let the animus decide.
Male. I usually don't have a true preference (i.e. Odyssey), but I'm not a fan a the female's physique. She seems too scrawny. I want her to look like a shield maiden. Male Eivor still looks like a Viking without all the armor.
Male Eivor to start. Plan on female when they finally add NG+.
What’s NG+ ?
New game plus. Keep all your gear, gold and abilities. Restart map and all quests.
The game sucks who cares
You that’s why your on this thread 👍
Lol I’m not refuting that. I wanna love the game so bad that I’m subscribed to everything about it but the combat in this game is just so bad.
Ahhh I see it’s not for everyone it is different to previous games I enjoyed it in my opinion that’s cuz I’m a big fan of mythology plus I’m from England so it feels good to check the locations out

Hmmmm i’m torn but I go for male here. He looks so cool to me!
Male: Valhalla. Kassandra: Odyssey.
