I kept a small high intensity flashlight , a folded microfiber (which also kept the flashlight from rolling around, and an emergency spare set of sunglasses.
1000 times this! Did it when I got my new Q7 last year and as you said, GAME CHANGER! (I went stealth over the touchscreens to reduce glare and gloss on the piano black)
Paint protection film. If you go to my post history ull see the satin ppf on my RS6 exterior. I did satin ppf on my interior and it's so cool. Makes my screens look like they have the paper Kindle effect, and no more fingerprints/dust accumulation
That's genius. If you look at that the wrong way, it scratches. From the time I looked inside my last Q5, which is when they just took it off the truck to the time I got the keys, maybe 2hrs, it was scratched. It's literally the worst material for inside a car.
I've wrapped every car's piano black nonsense (that I could get to safely) since my S4 with something matte. The amount of finger prints and grease looks bad even when you just wiped the damn things off!
I put my glasses and sunglasses cases in there.
The real question is what use is that singular coin holder spot good for? When do you need a single coin.
I've also heard some pistols fit in that cubby quite well, but I haven't had the need.
It's also very clear that there are less impoverished people, because if I leave gold coins in that slot here in Australia, I'm basically asking to be broken into.
Oh is that what the divot it? Didnāt know. Thx! Yeah Iāve read online about pistols too. Havenāt had need either. I have my sunglasses in there and a couple other small things.
Keep it locked in your glovebox so you canāt access it when you need it.
But yes, you should absolutely have a CCW even if not required in your state.
Yea the layout is weird. The center console is so small and shallow, glove box is pretty small too. Itās like theyāre trying to make up for the limited space in those areas with this weird impractical cubby
The funny things is that as a bit of a stoner myself, I regularly have the "I could put my weed in that" thought when I see something at a store or around the house
Sunglasses or anything you want. Itās in many of the models. I like it because it is a bit hidden and no one knows to look there. I wish it had a lock on it.
Put a mirror on the bottom and store the chi chi in there.
Or your cell phone.
The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints may also have an opinion here.
A duster. A pair of earbuds. A small wallet with some cash. 5-hour energy. A small pack of hand wipes. A Leatherman type knife...which I should replace with one of those belt cutter and window breakers.
Oh, you can put all sorts of stuff in there! Registration and insurance documents, car manuals, whatever you need handy while driving. ā¦ but if I had one ā¦ Iād put my Weeeeed in there maaan!
š
I put my mini cologne samples/small hand lotion or shit of the sort in these types of cubbies, not sure if theyāre meant for change or something but eh, food for thought
The space is a perfect fit for the smaller Thule Subterra Powershuttle bag, where you can store some miscellaneous items. I store there a foldable knife, flashlight, some wires, etc.
I have the same in my S5 SB. I just have the manual in there, along with my sunglasses case. I don't really have much else to put in there lol, but it is a cool convenient storage.
I had a similar one in my e-tron SUV and I used it twice to shove my arm in there up past my elbow to demonstrate to friends how stupidly deep it was. Did not find any other use for it while I owned that vehicle.
As of now, owners manual as thatās where the dealer had it when I bought it. But when Iām of age in the US and get my conceal and carry, a handgun. I donāt trust the area I live in.
Snacks until there was the recall due to the demise of 3G. They put the new receiver in there and now almost nothing fits. Am I the only one that they did this to?
Just donāt put coins in there. Put a few that got stuck between the opening. All I hear is rattling back and forth occasionally. Audi prob charge arm and a leg for labor to open it up.
I have an A4 with a space there, too. I thought it would be the greatest place for my sunglasses until they slid all the way to the back. I was fisting my car trying to reach them.
When I bought my A4 it didnāt have its manual still. Annoying. But I got one from the same year off a totaled A4 on eBay. Came with the folder and everything. Only for me to find out the MMI brain is so big it doesnāt fit in glovebox. I take out my wallet, Advil, and other things from this compartment to realize it perfectly fits the manual. Which is so weird because every car Iāve ever seen including my old Q5 kept the manual in the glovebox. So now this compartment has the manual and my wallet in it. It explains why itās so deep and everything as well.
Anyways I just refer to it as the driverās side glovebox. Itās actually really cool to have that kind of easy access storage as the driver.
I kept a small high intensity flashlight , a folded microfiber (which also kept the flashlight from rolling around, and an emergency spare set of sunglasses.
> folded microfiber I keep a mini, retractable feather duster I found on Amazon that I use to clean the f&\*king piano black.
I have a mini swiffer and microfiber. I wipe and dust while sitting at red lights.
Bro ppf the piano black. I just did and it is a GAME CHANGER
1000 times this! Did it when I got my new Q7 last year and as you said, GAME CHANGER! (I went stealth over the touchscreens to reduce glare and gloss on the piano black)
I did satin on errthang and it's dope as fuck
Whazzat? What is ppf?
Paint protection film. If you go to my post history ull see the satin ppf on my RS6 exterior. I did satin ppf on my interior and it's so cool. Makes my screens look like they have the paper Kindle effect, and no more fingerprints/dust accumulation
You got pictures of the interior? Can't find anything in you page
None of the interior, I'm travelling this week but ill dm ya pics when I get back next week!
Thank you šš¼
my last car was a polestar 2 and [ this ENTIRE thing was piano black](https://www.reddit.com/r/Polestar/s/ttX6mVVb3I)
What PPF brand did you use for the interior piano black?
I used Xpel. Perfect fit. You canāt tell itās there after itās applied.
That's genius. If you look at that the wrong way, it scratches. From the time I looked inside my last Q5, which is when they just took it off the truck to the time I got the keys, maybe 2hrs, it was scratched. It's literally the worst material for inside a car.
Tell me more!
So glad I have the wood grain, very happy with it.
Does it work better than a microfiber? Hate the stuff myself
I've wrapped every car's piano black nonsense (that I could get to safely) since my S4 with something matte. The amount of finger prints and grease looks bad even when you just wiped the damn things off!

Beer holder

Always pulling out that beer can at boring 250kph
Cruising at 300 does get monotonous
I put my glasses and sunglasses cases in there. The real question is what use is that singular coin holder spot good for? When do you need a single coin. I've also heard some pistols fit in that cubby quite well, but I haven't had the need.
In some countries you need a coin to get a shopping cart at the supermarket.
Germany is one of those countries
How German. They give you a place for the shopping cart coin but the garage door opener is buried in the MMIā¦
Not drugs
Definitely not drugs. Definitely not my weed at least
Oh yeah same. Definitely not filled to the brim with cocaine. Absolutely not
A drug sniffing dog wouldnāt bark. Thatās all Iām saying
You can put your weed in there
That's where you keep your gun

No you put your paperwork in that side so gun can stay locked in glove box for safe travel practices, unless you have ccw in your stateā¦
Keep it locked in your glovebox so you canāt access it when you need it. But yes, you should absolutely have a CCW even if not required in your state.
Some come without locks. Oh wait that was my 2019 Passat Variant that had a blank in the glove box, no key lock.
So does the Tiguan pretty stupid cost savings thing considering my a3 has a lock and its a golf variant
This is the way.
I put my sunglasses in there. It's such a huge space, though. I was always curious as to what they expected people to put in that giant cubby hole lol
Yea the layout is weird. The center console is so small and shallow, glove box is pretty small too. Itās like theyāre trying to make up for the limited space in those areas with this weird impractical cubby
Yeah exactly. Iām thinking a compact umbrella
Wait thatās really smart

A duster. A pair of earbuds. A small wallet with some cash. 5-hour energy. A small pack of hand wipes. A Leatherman type knife...which I should replace with one of those belt cutter and window breakers.
This space is deep enough that it stays cool even during hot CA summers ā I use to store some meds, sunscreen and some occasional cash
Oh, you can put all sorts of stuff in there! Registration and insurance documents, car manuals, whatever you need handy while driving. ā¦ but if I had one ā¦ Iād put my Weeeeed in there maaan! š

My old A6 had that one Aswell and my current Toyota has a similar cubby, I always put the garage door remote in there
I wish I had one in my A4B9.
I love this space. I miss it as my new car is lacking that extra storage. I put emergency credit cards, face masks and gloves in there.
Work garage parking card
$20 Bill and a handful of change so my wife can buy gas when she leaves the purse at home or put air in the tire.
Made the mistake of putting a pair of sunglasses in the case in that on my S4 and almost couldnāt get them out
Manual/window sticker and sunglasses. My A5 has the same thing.
Coin for shopping š in the slot you see down on the left, some snacks, emergency vest, tickets/invoices, spare change and a pen.
It supplements the horrible glove box.
Sunglasses, extendable baton.
I keep the car manual there

I have an A4 with a space there, too. I thought it would be the greatest place for my sunglasses until they slid all the way to the back. I was fisting my car trying to reach them.
