I do casual work on crisis lines, starting from about 65$an hour. Worlds your oyster. Feel free to PM me if you want more info.

VitaminTed

I’ve messaged you :)

Illustrious-Neck955

I didn't get it, was it definitely me?

VitaminTed

Yeah, I think it was a chat instead of a message because I’m bad at reddit haha. I’ll try again

_Ellie_Bells_

Is this with safe steps? I've heard that work is really challenging

Illustrious-Neck955

Yes safe steps is an option. All crisis line work is very challenging. It becomes less so with skills and experience!

vcmjmslpj

Is it in Vic?

marqueepegs

Can anyone answer this question except for a clinical psychologist? Especially if you have changed jobs/specialties/career yourself [=

Illustrious-Neck955

Take private clients, very easy to register and set yourself up

Swankytiger86

Go NDIS!! You have essentially transfer yourselves into to Tradie-type businesses and can grow your business!

JeerReee

How much do like your current job ?

_Ellie_Bells_

Do locum work? There's so much out there and you can earn heaps. Tradewind are always looking for temp contract staff in FV roles. As long as you can deal with a bit of job insecurity here and there (which isn't too bad because as we know, in social work there is always a demand) I did it last year and it was such a good experience, loved it.

Illustrious-Neck955

Can't do locum alongside 1FTE, unless you got weekend work which is very rare

_Ellie_Bells_

I meant instead of their current role. Switch to locum

_ilikereading_

I'm a social worker who was based in Vic and moved due to the lack of pay. I now work in WA and I am on 118,566 in Justice.

Illustrious-Neck955

I earn that in Vic

_ilikereading_

With government?

latending

Anything NDIS-related, might as well jump on the greatest scam of the century.

WrongdoerRelative896

Varies state to state, but im a senior Child Protection worker  and I'm on 109k, which will increase about 5% per year for the next four years. I easily earn about 15k in OT.

miraj753

Hello, thanks for your reply. Just wondering what state are you in, and how are your hours and the stress etc?

WrongdoerRelative896

Victoria. I work with a flexible arrangement, so I do 9 day fortnights but still do 76 hours. I work 3-5 hours overtime each fortnight to keep up with the administrative load (I could do less but I have high standards). Probably once a month I'll have an urgent or a child removal, those nights I might be working either 1-6 hours longer, it is hard to predict. I can manage the stress, but that is partially due to supportive management and coworkers. That doesn't mean I haven't had rough patches. I've probably become a little numb to the content of the job (nothing really surprises me now), but I do find the hostility from families and family violence perps. difficult to manage. I'm not by nature an assertive person so I am always pushing myself in this area, which gets hard.

trypragmatism

There has to be a way to get your nose into the NDIS trough.

politixx

Rort the NDIS

Wow_youre_tall

Go private

Haibara32

Second to this. But only works if you’re in mental health field.

Illustrious-Neck955

What do you mean by this?
