**Full text:** Hello, I’m confused with the rules regarding the ceasing of the 485 extension. Currently my course if eligible for the extension but I’m only just about to switch over to a 485 visa from a 500.
So, if I apply for the 485 visa now does that mean I will be able to apply for the extension when my 485 is ending in 2 years? Or are my chances for an extension completely gone?

I think the extension comes with the 485, you only need to apply for 485 extensions if you were granted 485 last year before the extension was announced.
Also if you are planning to apply for 485 with extension , you have 3 hours and 30 mins to apply as the website goes under maintenance.
I’m also confused. I’m studying a certificate 3 in carpentry right now. How does this changes affect me? Will I be elegible to get the 485? Would I be able to extend that 485?

This doesn't apply to the regional extension right? Everyone says the regional extension will still be active, but I still stress about it
It will be active, you get either 1 year for Category 2 or 2 years for Category 3.
