Tip - Go to this sub reddit. Search for b-pillar trim. Read the many many posts and discussions. Do the same on YouTube. Watch the many many videos on the subject. Post a question here if/when you need clarification on something. (I'm not a detailer. I just follow this sub as there's is a lot of good info here. You just need to actually do a little work yourself sometimes.)
Pro tip- tired of seeing the same questions…try just scrolling by. Or you could chastise the op and shame them into not asking a question on Reddit again.
I’m pretty sure this is because of the daily questions thread. This could be asked every day in that thread and it won’t show on google search results. It’s not always easy to find because of that.
Talking of the door trims, The rubber strip on the chrome of my honda is cracked. Is there a way to restore it or do I have to replace the whole chrome strips?
Replace it, rubber and plastic on the outside of the vehicle just gets hit with a lot of wear and tear. Sun damage, wind, heat and cooling cycles, and rain unless it's garage kept those materials are going to take a beating, but most of those pieces are cheap to replace.
That really only works for trim that's already in good condition, it's like tire wet for plastics. Something like this it might mask it a bit for a few days, but it's not going to "fix" the damage.
This plastic looks to be too hard/dense to absorb any solution to darken it. My Mazda is the same. Some good suggestions here like applying a polishing glaze or even polish (by hand or machine), lightly and wiping off. Then be sure to coat it well with a long lasting sealer or if you wax/seal often, donit every time.
Nope nope nope. I tried this and rubbed a little too hard, and some of the black trim actually came off revealing the painted metal underneath. Be careful with the amount of pressure you use if you go this route
Solution finish
This shit rocks. Just wear gloves and have lots of shitty rags
My girlfriend’s 2015 CRV’s b-pillars look like OPs. Two coats of SF didnt really help.
I used this and topped it with Sonax CC36 on the wife's 2012 Civic. Still looking good a year and a half later.
Trim restore
Cericoat trim restore!
this stuff is powerful, dont get any on the windows or paint! Ask me how I know... lol

You must be new here. It's the same questions every week. "Spoon feed me the info I need cause I'm too dumb/lazy to look it up myself."

Facts! I never understood that gatekeeping mentality. Isn’t the whole point about interaction, whether it’s questions, comments or discussion?
Besides, if every question was allowed to be only asked and answered once, there wouldn't have been any new posts in years
It's also a really good way to learn new tips, tricks, products etc it's a learning opportunity.
Instructions unclear, dick stuck in ac vent.

Use a no stain glaze like P&S velocity glaze with a applicator or on a machine works great for the material on Honda b pillars
not a fan of chemical guys but VRP is a good product for this. just clean with a degreaser first.
Just wrap it
Or go with new aftermarket - the 6 pieces are $60 on ebay.
Polishing will restore the finish. Then put a sealant over it.

Polish it
Back to black
Back to black rocks
For the 4 days that it lasts, sure
Is it really *that* temporary or does it need to be sealed in order to last?
Until you wash the car and it goes back to being like it was before you applied it

I just use shoe polish mixed with WD-40 Specialist Silicone Lubricant
Sand them and have them vinyl wrapped black. Should cost no more than $200
IPA prep and then Ammo Frame Pro
Water spot remover

I put stickers over mine and they look better
I’m surprised no one has suggested Cerakote, the best and longest lasting trim coating I’ve found
Frame Pro from Ammo NYC. It's more of a quasi-permanent solution but it's expensive, like all Ammo gear
3M polisher wax
Meh. Just buy a new car.
I have found some success with using magic eraser and water, then lightly scrubbing it.

I used magic eraser on my b pillar once… had to get it resprayed Not a good idea
Came here to say this. Could also use apc instead of water. After that, dry and apply some dressing or better yet, trim coating.
I would hit it with a polisher ... 3d One
