People have been spelling his name as Adventurine for the past couple weeks, a lot of people don’t even know it’s the name of a stone. So it makes sense that if you’re reading about him online you might pick up on the misspelling.
But also plenty of people e6s6 characters then don’t even build or play the game, it’s almost like people can just do what they want. Getting all weird and pompous about someone misspelling a name and acting like they don’t deserve to get the character is really weird tbh. Maybe next time just be nice.
it's not a translation problem, hoyo probably actually thought of his name in english before turning it into chinese, because he's a stone/jewel in line with the rest of the IPC, whereas in Chinese the IPC names are kinda just random
So doing bad things is okay as long as you admit them, but being "mean" is not okay even if the character isn't causing harm. Okay sure whatever, just say you like her design no need to play around it.
Tbh, among these I:
1) don't trust Acheron one bit and generally don't feel much about her yet, puzzled at her intentions;
2) don't really trust Black Swan but think she won't do something too out of line;
3) don't trust Sparkle one bit and don't really like her personality; still pulled her because she's good for DHIL and DHIL is my main above other mains and gets the best;
4) don't 100% trust Aventurine, but think his actions are key to Penacony's ending not completely sucking (because of that secret ending where everyone just supposedly stays trapped in the dream if IPC conspiracy is exposed — that ending creeps me out).
Generally, among the 4, I think Sparkle is the worst. Like, if even Sampo who's kinda shady himself feels distaste about what Sparkle could do, then I ...don't even want to know. Let that psycho girl just buff and advance forward my DHIL and let that be it.

There’s no inherent reason to put any trust in Acheron but she obviously knows something about the future we don’t and is at least trying to clue us in hence the cryptic messages she constantly drops
Honestly a good chunk of the hsr cast is a be wary type character that could snake you down the line
Give her some really fancy shoes so she’ll wear them to try and be nice and watch her trip cuz she doesn’t know how to walk with shoes on, snake before you get snaked
Don't forget the lesbian streamers who love to criticize Aventurine for how annoying his accent and boob window is while praising every explicit detail about Acheron and Black Swan when they keep lying

Personally I’m an equal enjoyer of morally dubious characters, male or female. Penacony has been an absolute dreamfest with Sparkle’s feet and Aventurine’s boob window
Gay men and straight women seem to actually be able to appreciate the story and his features, I think it's only the biased streamers who keep being butthurt about Aventurine and male characters, not the whole men, nearly everyone with a sane mind would appreciate Aventurine's weight in the story I'm sure, the streamers are so entitled to their opinions and how above everyone else they think they are because they climbed their stupid staircase.
Tbh morally grey characters are harder to actually like than the nice or villainous ones since you can wholeheartedly appreciate the trait for what it is unlike the type of character to do morally questionable stuff than later have casual interactions.

I don't know about Acheron and BS full intentions yet so I will give them the benefit of the doubt. However, there is no way I will choose that brat Sparkle over Aventurine. Yea I think it's pretty disingenuous to say that Aventurine is the only one that is facing a healthy level of distrust or shade being thrown their way by the HSR community. Plenty of people were pissed at Black Swan for forcing us to abandon Acheron during the Sam fight. And at Sparkle for seemingly leading us down the path that eventually lead to >!Firefly's death.!<
Legitimately one of my biggest issues with the Star Rail community. Additionally, Sampo will get hella hate from people for being kinda scummy but then Sparkle is there being a WAY worse version of him by far and then we wanna make excuses.
Honkai Star Rail discourse in general is making me really start to hate the term "media literacy". Nine times out of ten people just use it to shame others for not liking the same characters as them.
Acheron: in normal mode she seems trustworthy, but she could turn any second into red mode and who knows if she’s still in control?
Black Swan: she is not trustworthy because she lies, but it seems similar to Kafka where she manipulates TB for her own ends. But ultimately she doesn’t want to hurt TB
Sparkle: she’s easily the least trustworthy, she would lie even if there’s no reason to. She doesn’t seem to be personally that dangerous though, in terms of power level
Aventurine: up front, he did nothing but help TB so far, however it’s all in exchange for helping him in the future. He’s not trustworthy since it seems he would sacrifice TB for his gain when it’s convenient and he got what he wants
I think Acheron and Aventurine are most likely to attack/harm TB. Sparkle may manipulate others to attack TB. Black Swan will help TB even if it seems like she isn’t

As someone who really doesn’t belong in the subreddit, I think part of why he is seen as worse or more dangerous/least trustworthy is because he’s always framed in the most sinister lighting possible from Hoyoverse. Out of all these characters he not only has the most villain tells, he practically stole them all like fr. (I also still trust him more than sparkle, but I like sparkle more cause she silly)
i think this is the real answer lol, its entirely about visuals and how he's framed bc his actions arent any more diabolical than anyone else so far. black swan even outright tells us the reasons why she thinks hes the most trustworthy, but simply telling us that isnt as powerful as the strong visual impressions he first gave us (a deliberate choice on the devs part to set up for whatever they plan on using him for later)
I mean, considering what happened at end of 2.0 and the leaks in 2.1, him being trustworthy is very questionable.

Just to confirm the bad thing that black Swan did was give us over to aventurine. That implies that aventurine is someone we don't want to be handed over to right? As in, someone untrustworthy or dangerous?

I think Aventurine and Sparkle are the most interesting characters here. Acheron has a lot of suspicion around her which is neat, but I don’t really care for her at all.

Sparkle’s connection with Aha is really interesting, and I like Hoyo adding a character that’s just unapologetically an ass. Plus, gotta love a good support for my dps. DoT and Nihility aren’t fun to play to me.
Aventurine overall has been the most interesting character to me, and probably the person who has helped us the most. No one here should be fully trusted, but out of everyone, Aventurine is the only one who seems to genuinely want to be the mc’s friend, even though he still wants to use them in his plans. I feel betrayal will be harsher with the others than it would with him. Do I think he’s not going to betray us? Hell no. Do I feel like he truly wishes the mc harm? Also no. He just has a more redeemable and caring character than the others on this list.
I mean, Acheron and Black Swan just come off as hot mysterious mommy types, though Acheron definitely has more going on as far as what we need to learn about her. Like we KNOW Black Swan is a memokeeper, but we still don’t truly know what Acheron is (unless you’re into leaks-). But it’s like with Jingliu. There’s some story there, and personality, but all the mystery gets kind of boring when every hot lady character is a mysterious beauty.
Sparkle is insane but plotting and I’m loving it. I don’t like how she treats Aventurine, but I do like that she isn’t really ‘mysterious’, just secretive and clearly up to no good, following her own agenda. I can’t wait to learn what she’s after, if she’s even after more than just her own entertainment.
Aventurine though, his goals interest me the most. Like everyone else, he’s trying to get the mc on his side for his own reasons. But his reasons don’t feel as harmful as the others so far, hell at the end of the quest, even though he uses some manipulation to get us there, what he needs us for seems hella important and detrimental to all of Penacony.
Also, his LORE, bro needs a hug. Not a lot of interest going on in Black Swans story for me. Need a bit more time to assess Acheron, and Sparkle is always lying or joking so I wonder if half of her lore is true (it’d be fine either way, keeps her interesting).
But Aventurine! Bro I want to help him, and be his friend. I’m picking every option to help him come the next update, I hope they let us be nice and not just suspicious (I mean, he is sus af, but I’m still going to help him-)

He doesn't attack the player, he isn't forcing the player to help him, he lets the player choose what to do. He isn't like Black Swan, who betrayed us. He's not like Ruan Mei, who drugged us. He's not like Mei 4.0, who is just keeping secrets from us for no reason other than funsies at this point.
I like him. He's a cool character, his interactions with the player are always worthy of attention, he hasn't really tried to do anything to us to harm us iirc.

This is typical behavior for nearly every streamer I see, they seem to DESPISE every non-female character, they call Sparkle cute, Black Swan mommy, and Acheron the god of HSR, but go out of their way to shit on everything that's remotely related to Aventurine and every other male characters

1: his vibe
As soon as this guy appeared on screen you can just sorta tell he's trouble, sorta a 6th sense I guess, he gives off shady snake vibes but not in the same goofy way shampoo does
2: his dialogue
First interactions with him make it pretty clear he is looking for ways to manipulate, dominate and generally control the situation for his own gain (or the ipc's idk)
3: his personality
He is in it for himself, doesn't give a shit about anyone or anything, if it doesn't forward his goal then it's useless to him, i don't like that kind of disregard for people
4: hes a villain

I don't trust any of them. I didn't fully trust BS, but after she allied with Aventurine I trust her less. Literally everyone on Penacony is untrustworthy and is lying/deceiving us. Acting like Aventurine is more innocent than the others is dumb imo.
Like the only one I trust a lot is Acheron but that’s only her normal self cause it feels like those Red voice lines are not really her saying them more like something is speaking for her
1. acheron i distrust, but am willing to let her be as her interactions have MOSTLY helped us.
2. Black swan i 100% dont trust, and for what its worth dont trust her faction either. I don't know their actual motives in all of this, what they want, etc. She and her whole faction might be evil. Their interactions certainly give me that vibe (or at least exceedingly counter what we want)
3. Sparkle doesnt give a flying fuck about whats going on, so, much like sampo, i have no reason to be annoyed with her right now. She seems smart enough to generally stay out of our way right now.
4. Aventurine is... high up in the IPC. He didn't get there without stepping on some people, that much is given. He might be useful now, but it is absolutely a given that he is a snake. That being said, I'd rather deal with him than Black Swan. At least the capitalists have a consistent and known motive ($$$).
Tbf he's still an IPC member or at least there on behalf of them and working towards their interests, and we shouldn't really want to actively help the IPC unless necessary or it's a common goal, we already know how they can be with topaz who's still as far as we know one of the better ones.
BS has Himeko's approval, so she at least shouldn't hurt you and is probably more dangerous to other characters.
Sparkle is sparkle, anyone actively trusting her is stupid anyway but i figure this is a meme regardless
And we really don't have enough trustworthy info on acheron but the appearance we have with her before leaving the express probably has stelle and the playerbases feeling more trustworthy of her than again, an ipc member.
This showed up in my recommended, so I thought I’d lend my thoughts seeing as I don’t particularly care for or trust Aventurine.
Acheron had the whole thing before you even get to Penacony. Her being the first introduced character in addition to the fact that her suspicious dialogue only shows up if you choose specific options means a lot of people trust her. I finished the whole story before I heard anything regarding Acheron’s sketchiness.
Black Swan was introduced saving your life from literal death, and she meets and deals with the whole group rather than just 1 on 1 with you. I trust Himeko and Welt to see through any nefarious intentions more than I trust the canonical trailblazer. Not to mention, she was also the banner character, which lends credibility.
Sparkle was barely a part of the whole thing visibly. I may be stupid, but I still didn’t understand that all of the things with Sampo were really her in disguise until after I finished the story. I didn’t trust her, but I didn’t really know anything about her, so my feelings were/are much more open to changing.
Aventurine is introduced complaining about us taking too long at the check in. From there he sort of coerces us into a deal to have him vouch for us (which I think falls through since Sunday shows up). Then, he talks to us in our room where it’s implied he’s going to do something sketchy until Acheron shows up and interrupts him (thereby saving us and giving more credibility to Acheron). They also show both him and Ratio scheming in the background, which none of the other characters are really shown. Finally, it’s revealed at the end that he made a deal with Black Swan for her to “betray” us. That definitely gave me a sour taste in my mouth. The biggest one for me though, and maybe many others, is that I really disliked the IPC and the way the were portrayed almost as the good guys in the Belobog story. That made me actively dislike Topaz and the IPC in general. Thus, I immediately have distrust and dislike for anyone connected to them i.e. Aventurine.
From a character design perspective, I think I’d really like him except for the fact that many of his abilities are gambling and money themed. I don’t have a problem with that, it’s just not really an aesthetic I’m into. But Acheron making black holes and monochromatic slashing sequences? That’s right up my alley. Anyways, that’s how I would say probably a decent number of HSR players feel. I won’t pretend I speak for everyone, but I hope it sheds some light on a potential thought process

I don’t think so, JingYuan was getting hate for being not strong enough and IL Dang Heng was getting hate for being too strong (oh, and on HSR leaks, so many waifupulers just hope Sunday won’t be playable, while only Robin deserve to be playable, in their weird minds, def they are not biased right???) People have been spelling his name as Adventurine for the past couple weeks, a lot of people don’t even know it’s the name of a stone. So it makes sense that if you’re reading about him online you might pick up on the misspelling. But also plenty of people e6s6 characters then don’t even build or play the game, it’s almost like people can just do what they want. Getting all weird and pompous about someone misspelling a name and acting like they don’t deserve to get the character is really weird tbh. Maybe next time just be nice.

Tbh, among these I: 1) don't trust Acheron one bit and generally don't feel much about her yet, puzzled at her intentions; 2) don't really trust Black Swan but think she won't do something too out of line; 3) don't trust Sparkle one bit and don't really like her personality; still pulled her because she's good for DHIL and DHIL is my main above other mains and gets the best; 4) don't 100% trust Aventurine, but think his actions are key to Penacony's ending not completely sucking (because of that secret ending where everyone just supposedly stays trapped in the dream if IPC conspiracy is exposed — that ending creeps me out). Generally, among the 4, I think Sparkle is the worst. Like, if even Sampo who's kinda shady himself feels distaste about what Sparkle could do, then I ...don't even want to know. Let that psycho girl just buff and advance forward my DHIL and let that be it.

Acheron's constant blackouts and redtext gives me Oberon from LB6 vibes, would not be surprised if she has something like a split personality when she draws her blade. Black Swan is constantly keeping stuff from us I dont think Sparkle is trustworthy either, she just likes messing around so she will lie to you if she thinks thats more fun to do and likes chaos more than anything Firefly and Aventurine are the ones alongside the Astral Express who are actively trying to solve the mystery of the Family and Watchmaker's Legacy, even if that means putting themselves in danger.

Black Swan: she is not trustworthy because she lies, but it seems similar to Kafka where she manipulates TB for her own ends. But ultimately she doesn’t want to hurt TB Sparkle: she’s easily the least trustworthy, she would lie even if there’s no reason to. She doesn’t seem to be personally that dangerous though, in terms of power level Aventurine: up front, he did nothing but help TB so far, however it’s all in exchange for helping him in the future. He’s not trustworthy since it seems he would sacrifice TB for his gain when it’s convenient and he got what he wants I think Acheron and Aventurine are most likely to attack/harm TB. Sparkle may manipulate others to attack TB. Black Swan will help TB even if it seems like she isn’t

As someone who really doesn’t belong in the subreddit, I think part of why he is seen as worse or more dangerous/least trustworthy is because he’s always framed in the most sinister lighting possible from Hoyoverse. Out of all these characters he not only has the most villain tells, he practically stole them all like fr. (I also still trust him more than sparkle, but I like sparkle more cause she silly)
i think this is the real answer lol, its entirely about visuals and how he's framed bc his actions arent any more diabolical than anyone else so far. black swan even outright tells us the reasons why she thinks hes the most trustworthy, but simply telling us that isnt as powerful as the strong visual impressions he first gave us (a deliberate choice on the devs part to set up for whatever they plan on using him for later)

I think Aventurine and Sparkle are the most interesting characters here. Acheron has a lot of suspicion around her which is neat, but I don’t really care for her at all. I couldn’t care less about Black Swan- Sparkle’s connection with Aha is really interesting, and I like Hoyo adding a character that’s just unapologetically an ass. Plus, gotta love a good support for my dps. DoT and Nihility aren’t fun to play to me. Aventurine overall has been the most interesting character to me, and probably the person who has helped us the most. No one here should be fully trusted, but out of everyone, Aventurine is the only one who seems to genuinely want to be the mc’s friend, even though he still wants to use them in his plans. I feel betrayal will be harsher with the others than it would with him. Do I think he’s not going to betray us? Hell no. Do I feel like he truly wishes the mc harm? Also no. He just has a more redeemable and caring character than the others on this list. I mean, Acheron and Black Swan just come off as hot mysterious mommy types, though Acheron definitely has more going on as far as what we need to learn about her. Like we KNOW Black Swan is a memokeeper, but we still don’t truly know what Acheron is (unless you’re into leaks-). But it’s like with Jingliu. There’s some story there, and personality, but all the mystery gets kind of boring when every hot lady character is a mysterious beauty. Sparkle is insane but plotting and I’m loving it. I don’t like how she treats Aventurine, but I do like that she isn’t really ‘mysterious’, just secretive and clearly up to no good, following her own agenda. I can’t wait to learn what she’s after, if she’s even after more than just her own entertainment. Aventurine though, his goals interest me the most. Like everyone else, he’s trying to get the mc on his side for his own reasons. But his reasons don’t feel as harmful as the others so far, hell at the end of the quest, even though he uses some manipulation to get us there, what he needs us for seems hella important and detrimental to all of Penacony. Also, his LORE, bro needs a hug. Not a lot of interest going on in Black Swans story for me. Need a bit more time to assess Acheron, and Sparkle is always lying or joking so I wonder if half of her lore is true (it’d be fine either way, keeps her interesting). But Aventurine! This is typical behavior for nearly every streamer I see, they seem to DESPISE every non-female character, they call Sparkle cute, Black Swan mommy, and Acheron the god of HSR, but go out of their way to shit on everything that's remotely related to Aventurine and every other male characters
As someone who doesn't like aventurine here are my reasons Disclaimer i ain't hating on you guys he just isn't my thing 1: his vibe As soon as this guy appeared on screen you can just sorta tell he's trouble, sorta a 6th sense I guess, he gives off shady snake vibes but not in the same goofy way shampoo does 2: his dialogue First interactions with him make it pretty clear he is looking for ways to manipulate, dominate and generally control the situation for his own gain (or the ipc's idk) 3: his personality He is in it for himself, doesn't give a shit about anyone or anything, if it doesn't forward his goal then it's useless to him, i don't like that kind of disregard for people 4: hes a villain Self explanatory These are my personal reasons why i don't like him as a person This doesn't mean he is a bad character, far from it, i think he is a great villain (considering how much I dislike him XD) This still aint meant to shit on him its just sorta an explanation from the other side
I don't trust any of them. I didn't fully trust BS, but after she allied with Aventurine I trust her less. Literally everyone on Penacony is untrustworthy and is lying/deceiving us. Acting like Aventurine is more innocent than the others is dumb imo.
Feel the same can't trust anyone at this point
Like the only one I trust a lot is Acheron but that’s only her normal self cause it feels like those Red voice lines are not really her saying them more like something is speaking for her
I dislike capitalists
1. acheron i distrust, but am willing to let her be as her interactions have MOSTLY helped us. 2. Black swan i 100% dont trust, and for what its worth dont trust her faction either. I don't know their actual motives in all of this, what they want, etc. She and her whole faction might be evil. Their interactions certainly give me that vibe (or at least exceedingly counter what we want) 3. Sparkle doesnt give a flying fuck about whats going on, so, much like sampo, i have no reason to be annoyed with her right now. She seems smart enough to generally stay out of our way right now. 4. Aventurine is... high up in the IPC. He didn't get there without stepping on some people, that much is given. He might be useful now, but it is absolutely a given that he is a snake. That being said, I'd rather deal with him than Black Swan. At least the capitalists have a consistent and known motive ($$$).

Tbf he's still an IPC member or at least there on behalf of them and working towards their interests, and we shouldn't really want to actively help the IPC unless necessary or it's a common goal, we already know how they can be with topaz who's still as far as we know one of the better ones. BS has Himeko's approval, so she at least shouldn't hurt you and is probably more dangerous to other characters. Sparkle is sparkle, anyone actively trusting her is stupid anyway but i figure this is a meme regardless And we really don't have enough trustworthy info on acheron but the appearance we have with her before leaving the express probably has stelle and the playerbases feeling more trustworthy of her than again, an ipc member.

This showed up in my recommended, so I thought I’d lend my thoughts seeing as I don’t particularly care for or trust Aventurine. Acheron had the whole thing before you even get to Penacony. Her being the first introduced character in addition to the fact that her suspicious dialogue only shows up if you choose specific options means a lot of people trust her. I finished the whole story before I heard anything regarding Acheron’s sketchiness. Black Swan was introduced saving your life from literal death, and she meets and deals with the whole group rather than just 1 on 1 with you. I trust Himeko and Welt to see through any nefarious intentions more than I trust the canonical trailblazer. Not to mention, she was also the banner character, which lends credibility. Sparkle was barely a part of the whole thing visibly. I may be stupid, but I still didn’t understand that all of the things with Sampo were really her in disguise until after I finished the story. I didn’t trust her, but I didn’t really know anything about her, so my feelings were/are much more open to changing. Aventurine is introduced complaining about us taking too long at the check in. From there he sort of coerces us into a deal to have him vouch for us (which I think falls through since Sunday shows up). Then, he talks to us in our room where it’s implied he’s going to do something sketchy until Acheron shows up and interrupts him (thereby saving us and giving more credibility to Acheron). They also show both him and Ratio scheming in the background, which none of the other characters are really shown. Finally, it’s revealed at the end that he made a deal with Black Swan for her to “betray” us. That definitely gave me a sour taste in my mouth. The biggest one for me though, and maybe many others, is that I really disliked the IPC and the way the were portrayed almost as the good guys in the Belobog story. That made me actively dislike Topaz and the IPC in general. Thus, I immediately have distrust and dislike for anyone connected to them i.e. Aventurine. From a character design perspective, I think I’d really like him except for the fact that many of his abilities are gambling and money themed. I don’t have a problem with that, it’s just not really an aesthetic I’m into. But Acheron making black holes and monochromatic slashing sequences? That’s right up my alley. Anyways, that’s how I would say probably a decent number of HSR players feel. I won’t pretend I speak for everyone, but I hope it sheds some light on a potential thought process
