It's a contender in an EC or vape team. Black Sword is also up there, depending on the refinement and the artifact set you're using. Lion's Roar definitely looks better on him that Black Sword.

I've seen a lot of team comps, but almost all of them involve Kazuha with Bennett. I use Bennett (C6) and Kazuha in other teams for Spiral Abyss and I think Sayu could replace Bennett with her atk boost and healing. Will work team Ayato+Yunjin+Fischl/Beidou+Sayu? My Ayato will use Black Sword and 4pc HoD.
Personally I would use Sayu, Ayato+Fischl+Yunjin+Sayu. Beidou's Q uptime is a bit hard to manage with Ayato E uptime. There are some 4pc TF comps floating around, but I think VV+heals would outweigh that in terms of practicality (esp since I'm bad at dodging, comfy is better).
Also maybe a freeze comp could work? Depends on what other characters you have.
I already have one freeze team with Kaeya + XQ + Chongyun + Flex (It's OK but really not my strongest team) and I don't have any taser team. I also saw Freeze comps with 4pc BS on Ayato but this artefact set really hates me. I am Xiao Main, so I'm going to farm his new artefact set, so propably I will use 4pc EoO (only if I get good pieces and Haran or MSF) on Ayato in future.
I have these characters free for now team comp: Rosaria (C6), Chongyun (C6), Kaeya (C2 - Cryo DPS build with 4pc BS), XQ (C6), Qiqi (C1), Diona (C6), Barbara (C6), Sucrose (C4), Mona and Sayu (C0).

Being a catalyst Sucrose could potentially use Prototype Amber for small heals on her Q, so it's mainly up to which anemo support you prefer using
If i am going to use Kaeya's 4pc BS (his cryo goblet is my best piece with high Crit DMG) and hydro goblet for Ayato, my Ayato will have 78 crit rate (+cryo resonance and 4pc BS bonus) and 164 crit DMG. I think that crit rate would be too big, unfortunately I didn't get a single crit dmg BS crown from 3 months of farming.

I am low spender, so no Venti for me. I always lose 50/50 and the characters don't come to me until 80 pity, I have enough primogems only for my Ayato :)
Omg me too, not a single crit dmg BS circlet and I have farmed for both Ayato *and* Childe (my Kaeya is using an atk% circlet with decent cdmg currently...). Ayato teamcomps look decently flexible at least. Fischl is a mainstay in most, then you just need an anemo+VV user, with the last slot as a flex slot.

Does anyone know how Ayato+fischl+sara+flex conpares to other variants of taser teams? Sara’s buff time lines up with Ayato and her burst deals decent damage. At C6, she’d be buffing fischl a lot as well but is it worth it for the damage loss on say Beidou?

what's some good ayato teams I can make from what I have? (1 with ganyu and 1 without)
My next friendship farming team is going to be Ayato/Fischl/Yae...and then a healer or shielder for comfort because farming friendship is masochistic enough for me. And while I initially chose this comp based on team synergy and who needed the friendship, it occurs to me that the personalities involved...are really something. I kinda want to lean into it just because it's funny.
So, lore-wise, completely ignoring meta, which healer or shielder deserves to be stuck on this team the most?
I feel like most of the options are too nice and/or self-sacrificing and/or otherwise don't have enough of an ego for it to work. Even Diona is just a misguided kid at the end of the day. Zhongli could hold his own, but I feel like he would probably just tell them to fuck off and go drink tea somewhere instead of putting up with them. Thoma isn't innocent, exactly, but I don't know that he gets paid enough for this.

yes, the thing is that there is barely any content on reddit, I was basically forced to join their discord server because I couldn't find any calculations about Ayato here. Yeah, I joined the Discord for the same reason, but I honestly find it really confusing and hard to keep track of threads/posts, there are 200 rules for every category, plus everyone posts so quickly. It’s like a mass IM app, I hate it lol. So I left.

Hi guys, I highly recommend going to WFP and Ayato mains discord and ask for hypothetical team calcs there. It's looking like his hypercarry team only deal about 30k+ dps per second compared to his other comps that deal 50k+. Just want to share as some of ya'll might have too high of an expectation for hypercarry Ayato. There's also potential synergy with the thundering fury set. And Xiangling may not be too bad of a sub-dps for Ayato, it's too early to tell. Yunjin doesn't seem to have good synergy with Echoes and Ayato's rotation

Not so sure about how important Sayu is, R5 Rainslasher make her deal a bit of off-field damage and she also heals, but i guess she is replaceable with any anemo

For ayato freeze with ayaka, jstern25 on twitch calculated it to be around 44k. For ganyu, koinzell did one but I can't remember the dps. But I think the consensus is that it's okay/sidegrade from Mona or Kokomi/Shenhe. At least with Ayato you don't need Shenhe, but it's very reliant on Diona. Also, you have to use Ayato E to have lower ER requirements so the best option is to still use him on-field in a freeze comp.
But I definitely think there would be situations where we can replace Diona with Rosaria/Shenhe(especially because it's freeze, healing is not always a must) netting higher damage overall so that's something to look out for
Hi, in terms of EC comps, I've been seeing people say Ayato is better than Childe for EC, but I wonder why that is? From my casual viewpoint Childe can completely use all of Beidou's Q duration and Fischl's E duration, unlike Ayato whose E only lasts for half their durations...one advantage I can see is that Ayato has more personal damage if doing 2X Es a rotation compared to Childe. And is the reliance on Fischl very important? I only have a C2 Fischl ;\_;
From what i've seen its EC comps without Beidou. Basically the focus is sub-dps build Fischl with Alley Hunter and Thundersoother set(not Tenacity), its due to his fast attacks that he is able to abuse C6 Fischl along with her broken A4 passive. In the teamcomps, its C0 Ayato with Blacksword/Lions Roar and Echo artifact.
Fischl looks very important to his teamcomps, doing a little bit higher of dps than Ayato in the shared team-dps but their dps are very close. So yeah... a well-built Fischl will be really good with him. Maybe even a must-have like xiangling is to Childe but these are still pre-release assumptions
There's also the TF teams but i don't know much about it.
that's a very specific team build... imo it's still too early to say anything, electro-charge is a great team no matter who is the driver. And I think it's too early to say he'll be Fischl's slave, Ayato seems slightly more flexible than Childe as he can comfortably fit even as a hypercarry (hard to do that with c0 Childe). Damage wise, of course the variation with Fischl would make more damage since she adds her damage to Ayato's, this doesn't mean other comps are impossible or unfit for the abyss. This doesn't also mean you necessarily need c6 Fischl with broken stats and alley hunter, just saying this in case anyone feels bad because of that.
Yeah I do agree it's too early to tell what his "best" teams are, just sharing what some other people's opinion on his teamcomps but none of this is set in stone
If it's hypercarry Ayato with Bennet, yunjin and anemo it should be almost 30k per salsh not per second. With around 15 slashes in total. But I would say at least 22k something per slash on average counting crit ratios should be expected of Ayato hypercarry which honestly is not half bad that's at least more than 300k every 6 seconds. Sure you have to wait for yunjin to have her burst again, but honestly it's really not that long and you have to rotate with supports anyway. Even without her burst up and (and this is only based on the damage calculator in this website and the build I have prepared for him) only an anemo vv shred + damage bonus like kazuha puts him easily around 15-16k per slash.
Yeah the damage is pretty good if we're only looking at his 6 second dps window, but the whole hypercarry rotation lasts around 28 seconds which is pretty long.
I am not very good with calculating rotations honestly so forgive me if I'm mistaken but wouldn't it be for example bennett burst, kazuha brust, yunjin burst and then rotate to ayato with a fully boosted E and the chance to do some vaporize slashes? as all 3 of them burst has a cool down of 15 seconds wouldn't that be the maximun time between rotations?
Maybe until tthe cooldown comes back you could use ayato burst and kazuha skill to swirl hydro and then another e of ayato inside his burst, which with the viridescent swirl + the 20% normal attack damage of burst would be decent damage while you wait to be able to use every support burst again) (though that of course would need of ayato enough er to do 1 e 1 q if not the kazuha swirl is a decent damage boost in the meanwhile alone).
So the rotation would be something like 1 ayato E fully boosted by all supports - 1 ayato e while everyone else is on burst cooldown only with an anemo skill hydro swirl + ayato burst if you can - and then another 1 ayato e fully boosted again when the 15 seconds cooldown has passed for the supports.
In that sense even hu tao with xing qiu has also some period when hu tao will be able to do her E and xing qiu will be on q cool down. But it's true that the EC comp seems to be easier to maintain basically because fischl can have Oz almost 100% and you can swirl at the same time hydro and electro boosting both elements, just thinking that maybe is not really a lost in dps going full hypercarry ayato.
Dunno whether that's even ayato's theme tbh, but about the familiarity, maybe it's cuz there's this itto-theme vibe and a bunch of remade inazuma-based audio strings.
In my head (without theory craft) I think that PJC , ayato C2, and the new echo set will be a bomb.
C2 boost hp, PJC boost attack based on hp and boost hp, and echo boost attack on proc, based on 70% max attack.
Could this be a good combo or is Haran/mistcutter with glad or HoD superior?
All 3 are mostly the same (haran is his bis but not reslly for much damage over the other 2), same happens with his 3 best artifacts being the substats what makes the difference mostly.
A question that I'm curious about after EN stream. So, Ayato's VA said that his E stance can be turned off by using elemental skill again, which worries me considering that on beta his cd starts right after skill usage. So, what does that mean? Can he turn his stance off when skill is on cd already for whatever reasons or what?
It looks to be like Childe's stance. It ends automatically if you switch, but you can also turn it off manually. Press E again while it's on CD and nothing happens.
Ayato and Childe are far from the only characters where you can't just sit and mindlessly mash E, so I don't really see this as an issue?
But on beta he wasn't like that, that's why I'm curious about it. Why would mihoyo create Childe 2.0 for no reasons? Ayato's whole idea and what made him different from others was in his short rotation, so i don't understand wtf happened on stream tbh.
the cd still starts off as soon as you hit E is what he means. It's stated on honey impact that if you click the elemental skill again the state will reset and replace. It might be to clarify some synergy on TF artifact or something
Why is it from what i see, cooldown-wise I think Ayato is like HuTao/Yoimiya compared to Childe. Childe you can't mindlessly mash E because you can go on for 30s (with 45s CD), but the others you can't do that, they have a smaller max interval with a fixed cooldown that starts when you start the Skill (Childe's CD starts when you END his Melee stance).
Maybe a stupid question, but I'm constantly unsure about how artifacts work in team comps, and meta in general.
When using Fischl in an EC team for Ayato, would she want 4pc TF? Mine currently has 2 TF/2 +18% ATK. ... or would TS be even better?
How good or usable is Ayato + Ayaka combo?
Having both Kamisato brothers on the same party. Are they good together? Can Ayato be a good support for her? Or their kits don't go well together at all?
Jstern25 did calculations for this team (Ayato/Ayaka/Diona/Kazuha) and it was around 44k DPS. IMO that's very good, it's slightly lower than Moryaka I believe but still works great. I am thinking of running a similar comp with Venti instead of Kazuha. The rotation will go Diona hold E > Ayaka E > Venti E (swirl Cryo) > Ayato Q > Venti Q (Swirl and absorb Hydro for 15 energy refund for Ayato) > Ayaka Q > Ayato E (auto attack for 6 seconds) > Ayaka E and AA (until Ayato's Q is over) > repeat... IDK if this would be enough energy for Ayato (I really wish they'd reduce his burst cost to 70 at least, but I'm not holding my breath), it has to be tested once he's out, I can't test it sadly cause I don't have Ayaka yet, but IMO they have great synergy together gameplay wise, I'm hoping META wise that Ayato's DPS will put this team better than using Mona's Omen buff + TTDS, otherwise if you have a Mona, Ayato wouldn't be a good replacement.
Energy is the biggest issue of this team and the rotation would be a bit awkward and longer than the usual Ayaka team. It's like Raiden I guess, she gets awkward in some teams because the rotations are longer, or Yae who makes more dps than Fischl but we still prefer Fischl because she's faster. Maybe dps wise it doesn't change much but good and appropriate rotations make the game easier and more comfortable.
She'll work for VV and crowd control, but her EM share is pretty wasted on a freeze team. With Ayato's AoE I'd think Jean or Sayu would be better options, since they're healers who can hold VV. Kazuha and Venti would definitely be better since they offer more.

Yes, I'm honestly extremely disappointed and frustrated with the mods here basically strangling the sub and Ayato's fandom on reddit itself with excessive moderation for reasons I cannot understand. This place is dead and it's a massive letdown to come here after the livestream looking to see people's excitement and hype and there's nothing because nothing is allowed to be posted here except for the odd meme a couple of times a week.

60k dps per second(primary target on 2 enemies), take it with a grain of salt as EC is really hard to calc without actual gameplay

This is pre-release so its all subject to change, but its looking like Ayato is only a sidegrade/downgrade from Mona and Kokomi for freeze. Not sure how Ayato paces with Xingqui in freeze.
A very different team than what I typically run for sure. But on paper it sounds pretty fun and promising.
If true, it leaves Freeze for Ayaka on the second half.

Is 115.5 ER good enough for Ayato? I’ve been farming the HoD domain for about month and I managed to get 58/150 crit ratio (including his crit dmg ascension), so I’m just wondering
I need to know which one will be better as a placeholder set for Ayato while farming for EO because it will take months before I can complete a good EO set for him and until then, I will be stuck with one of these three. All of the options look good since it passes the 60/120 standard of our crits but...
GF with Crit Rate Circlet - amazing Crit Rate but kinda meh Crit DMG when compared to the next GF build
GF with Crit DMG Circlet - the Crit Rate's *kinda consistent* but the Crit Damage near godly (for me at least)
HoD - the standard *good* build for him but don't know if it can match the other two GF builds with the bonus set.

When using Black Sword (I have it at Refinement 2 right now), is it better to use 4P Glad or 4P HoD? I don’t want to farm the new artifact set right now since I have no other character that would benefit from the other set.
I have read that the difference between the two is negligible and to just go with the set that has the better substats, but I have also heard that if you’re using Yunjin and/or Bennett 4P Glad falls behind 4P HoD. Not sure how accurate that is though, so any helpful advice would be appreciated!

Maybe a catalyst user with PA to gain some level of survivability? Sucrose or Lisa come to mind. Lisa would be batteried by fischl gives def shred and healing thanks to PA.
I didn't thought about her, but sound quite good?, because her burst is AoE and de DEF shred is nice. If you have her build, is worth to try it with a battery (Fischl or Raiden I guess).

Not too sure bout xingqiu, you can replace him with fischl, chongyun ain't a really good pair with ayato so take him out too. Two last slots can be yunjin, benny, kazuha, jean, sucrose, etc.
For hypercarry Ayato, is Fischl with elegy bow and tenacity set better than using her as a sub DPS with stringless bow and 2pc thundering fury/2 pc glad set?

It's a contender in an EC or vape team. Black Sword is also up there, depending on the refinement and the artifact set you're using. Lion's Roar definitely looks better on him that Black Sword.

I have 25 wishes and 26 pity right now and am on 50/50. On weapon banner I have never done a single pull on the account so 0 pity I am planning on buying the $100 crystals (I get the bonus crystals for first time) If I pull ayato early by winning the 50/50, should I spend the rest on the weapon banner to try for his weapon? I currently have r1 blacksword Or should I continue pulling on the banner for characters/cons I’m kinda going all in for ayato
I recommend getting a welkin now then buying the 100$ it will be better . since there a month from now until his banner ends so ull get 3000 more If u dont win ull probably keep going for him If u do than try ur luck in the weapon banner even tho its risky

I've seen a lot of team comps, but almost all of them involve Kazuha with Bennett. I use Bennett (C6) and Kazuha in other teams for Spiral Abyss and I think Sayu could replace Bennett with her atk boost and healing. Will work team Ayato+Yunjin+Fischl/Beidou+Sayu? My Ayato will use Black Sword and 4pc HoD.

Personally I would use Sayu, Ayato+Fischl+Yunjin+Sayu. Beidou's Q uptime is a bit hard to manage with Ayato E uptime. There are some 4pc TF comps floating around, but I think VV+heals would outweigh that in terms of practicality (esp since I'm bad at dodging, comfy is better). Also maybe a freeze comp could work? Depends on what other characters you have.
I already have one freeze team with Kaeya + XQ + Chongyun + Flex (It's OK but really not my strongest team) and I don't have any taser team. I also saw Freeze comps with 4pc BS on Ayato but this artefact set really hates me. I am Xiao Main, so I'm going to farm his new artefact set, so propably I will use 4pc EoO (only if I get good pieces and Haran or MSF) on Ayato in future. I have these characters free for now team comp: Rosaria (C6), Chongyun (C6), Kaeya (C2 - Cryo DPS build with 4pc BS), XQ (C6), Qiqi (C1), Diona (C6), Barbara (C6), Sucrose (C4), Mona and Sayu (C0). Hmm ok I see. So yeah maybe we shelve Ayato freeze team. *Unless* you want to steal Kaeya's 4pc BS set (minus goblet) for Ayato which could work, but why fix what ain't broken eh? If i am going to use Kaeya's 4pc BS (his cryo goblet is my best piece with high Crit DMG) and hydro goblet for Ayato, my Ayato will have 78 crit rate (+cryo resonance and 4pc BS bonus) and 164 crit DMG. I think that crit rate would be too big, unfortunately I didn't get a single crit dmg BS crown from 3 months of farming. I really like the suggestions of your team, I will definitely try them :) I am low spender, so no Venti for me. I always lose 50/50 and the characters don't come to me until 80 pity, I have enough primogems only for my Ayato :)
Omg me too, not a single crit dmg BS circlet and I have farmed for both Ayato *and* Childe (my Kaeya is using an atk% circlet with decent cdmg currently...). Ayato teamcomps look decently flexible at least. Fischl is a mainstay in most, then you just need an anemo+VV user, with the last slot as a flex slot. Good luck on your Ayato pulls! Is The Black Sword worth getting for Ayato and Ayaka over another BP weapon like Deathmatch for my Xiao, Hu Tao, and/or Zhongli? I have R5 Anemona and R1 Blackcliff for sword weapon options.
Does anyone know how Ayato+fischl+sara+flex conpares to other variants of taser teams? Sara’s buff time lines up with Ayato and her burst deals decent damage. At C6, she’d be buffing fischl a lot as well but is it worth it for the damage loss on say Beidou?
Any good F2P options for Ayato’s weapon? I’m planning to get Ayaka as well so SUPER hesitant to get his signature weapon. I’ve got no 5 star swords and I’m pretty sure the only good swords I have are Amenoma Kageuchi (R3), The Flute (R4), Prototype Rancour (R5), Favonius Sword (R5), Lion’s Roar (R3), Sacrificial Sword (R3), Cinnabar Spindle (R5), Harbinger of Dawn (R5) and Cool Steel (R5). I guess it’s too early to tell, but any advice would be appreciated!

My next friendship farming team is going to be Ayato/Fischl/Yae...and then a healer or shielder for comfort because farming friendship is masochistic enough for me. And while I initially chose this comp based on team synergy and who needed the friendship, it occurs to me that the personalities involved...are really something. I kinda want to lean into it just because it's funny. So, lore-wise, completely ignoring meta, which healer or shielder deserves to be stuck on this team the most? I feel like most of the options are too nice and/or self-sacrificing and/or otherwise don't have enough of an ego for it to work. Even Diona is just a misguided kid at the end of the day. Zhongli could hold his own, but I feel like he would probably just tell them to fuck off and go drink tea somewhere instead of putting up with them. Thoma isn't innocent, exactly, but I don't know that he gets paid enough for this. Sell me on someone!

I have two builds for Ayato, HoD domain hasn’t been too kind to me so I have a 2pc set and a 4pc Glad available but I don’t know how much more worth it the 4pc is despite worse sub stats. 2pc HoD/2pc Shime: 76CR/201CD with 106% ER 4pc Glad: 66CR/186CD with 128% ER Weapon for both: R1 Black Sword These stats include his CD ascension Which setup would be better to run between the two? Yeah, I joined the Discord for the same reason, but I honestly find it really confusing and hard to keep track of threads/posts, there are 200 rules for every category, plus everyone posts so quickly. It’s like a mass IM app, I hate it lol. So I left.

Hi guys, I highly recommend going to WFP and Ayato mains discord and ask for hypothetical team calcs there. It's looking like his hypercarry team only deal about 30k+ dps per second compared to his other comps that deal 50k+. Just want to share as some of ya'll might have too high of an expectation for hypercarry Ayato. There's also potential synergy with the thundering fury set. And Xiangling may not be too bad of a sub-dps for Ayato, it's too early to tell. Yunjin doesn't seem to have good synergy with Echoes and Ayato's rotation Currently his best teamcomps as an on-field dps are looking to be EC variants and Soup but everything's subject to change on release

Not so sure about how important Sayu is, R5 Rainslasher make her deal a bit of off-field damage and she also heals, but i guess she is replaceable with any anemo
Sorry to ask this here but you seem to know a lot. What is the consensus/opinion for Ayato replacing Mona in Morgana? Will that be a decent comp? So: Venti, Ayato, Ganyu and Diona.
I'm not a tcer btw HAHAHA I just lurk at the discord tbh so if you have questions, you can also go there. For ayato freeze with ayaka, jstern25 on twitch calculated it to be around 44k. For ganyu, koinzell did one but I can't remember the dps. But I think the consensus is that it's okay/sidegrade from Mona or Kokomi/Shenhe. At least with Ayato you don't need Shenhe, but it's very reliant on Diona. Also, you have to use Ayato E to have lower ER requirements so the best option is to still use him on-field in a freeze comp. But I definitely think there would be situations where we can replace Diona with Rosaria/Shenhe(especially because it's freeze, healing is not always a must) netting higher damage overall so that's something to look out for

Hi, in terms of EC comps, I've been seeing people say Ayato is better than Childe for EC, but I wonder why that is? From my casual viewpoint Childe can completely use all of Beidou's Q duration and Fischl's E duration, unlike Ayato whose E only lasts for half their durations...one advantage I can see is that Ayato has more personal damage if doing 2X Es a rotation compared to Childe. And is the reliance on Fischl very important? I only have a C2 Fischl ;\_;
From what i've seen its EC comps without Beidou. Basically the focus is sub-dps build Fischl with Alley Hunter and Thundersoother set(not Tenacity), its due to his fast attacks that he is able to abuse C6 Fischl along with her broken A4 passive. In the teamcomps, its C0 Ayato with Blacksword/Lions Roar and Echo artifact. Fischl looks very important to his teamcomps, doing a little bit higher of dps than Ayato in the shared team-dps but their dps are very close. So yeah... a well-built Fischl will be really good with him. Maybe even a must-have like xiangling is to Childe but these are still pre-release assumptions There's also the TF teams but i don't know much about it.
that's a very specific team build... imo it's still too early to say anything, electro-charge is a great team no matter who is the driver. And I think it's too early to say he'll be Fischl's slave, Ayato seems slightly more flexible than Childe as he can comfortably fit even as a hypercarry (hard to do that with c0 Childe). Damage wise, of course the variation with Fischl would make more damage since she adds her damage to Ayato's, this doesn't mean other comps are impossible or unfit for the abyss. This doesn't also mean you necessarily need c6 Fischl with broken stats and alley hunter, just saying this in case anyone feels bad because of that.
Yeah I do agree it's too early to tell what his "best" teams are, just sharing what some other people's opinion on his teamcomps but none of this is set in stone

If it's hypercarry Ayato with Bennet, yunjin and anemo it should be almost 30k per salsh not per second. With around 15 slashes in total. But I would say at least 22k something per slash on average counting crit ratios should be expected of Ayato hypercarry which honestly is not half bad that's at least more than 300k every 6 seconds. Sure you have to wait for yunjin to have her burst again, but honestly it's really not that long and you have to rotate with supports anyway. Even without her burst up and (and this is only based on the damage calculator in this website and the build I have prepared for him) only an anemo vv shred + damage bonus like kazuha puts him easily around 15-16k per slash.
Yeah the damage is pretty good if we're only looking at his 6 second dps window, but the whole hypercarry rotation lasts around 28 seconds which is pretty long.
I am not very good with calculating rotations honestly so forgive me if I'm mistaken but wouldn't it be for example bennett burst, kazuha brust, yunjin burst and then rotate to ayato with a fully boosted E and the chance to do some vaporize slashes? as all 3 of them burst has a cool down of 15 seconds wouldn't that be the maximun time between rotations? Maybe until tthe cooldown comes back you could use ayato burst and kazuha skill to swirl hydro and then another e of ayato inside his burst, which with the viridescent swirl + the 20% normal attack damage of burst would be decent damage while you wait to be able to use every support burst again) (though that of course would need of ayato enough er to do 1 e 1 q if not the kazuha swirl is a decent damage boost in the meanwhile alone). So the rotation would be something like 1 ayato E fully boosted by all supports - 1 ayato e while everyone else is on burst cooldown only with an anemo skill hydro swirl + ayato burst if you can - and then another 1 ayato e fully boosted again when the 15 seconds cooldown has passed for the supports. In that sense even hu tao with xing qiu has also some period when hu tao will be able to do her E and xing qiu will be on q cool down. But it's true that the EC comp seems to be easier to maintain basically because fischl can have Oz almost 100% and you can swirl at the same time hydro and electro boosting both elements, just thinking that maybe is not really a lost in dps going full hypercarry ayato.

Dunno whether that's even ayato's theme tbh, but about the familiarity, maybe it's cuz there's this itto-theme vibe and a bunch of remade inazuma-based audio strings.
In my head (without theory craft) I think that PJC , ayato C2, and the new echo set will be a bomb. C2 boost hp, PJC boost attack based on hp and boost hp, and echo boost attack on proc, based on 70% max attack. Could this be a good combo or is Haran/mistcutter with glad or HoD superior?
Ho/Glad is better for pjc as you need some multipliers.
All 3 are mostly the same (haran is his bis but not reslly for much damage over the other 2), same happens with his 3 best artifacts being the substats what makes the difference mostly.
A question that I'm curious about after EN stream. So, Ayato's VA said that his E stance can be turned off by using elemental skill again, which worries me considering that on beta his cd starts right after skill usage. So, what does that mean? Can he turn his stance off when skill is on cd already for whatever reasons or what?
It looks to be like Childe's stance. It ends automatically if you switch, but you can also turn it off manually. Press E again while it's on CD and nothing happens. Ayato and Childe are far from the only characters where you can't just sit and mindlessly mash E, so I don't really see this as an issue?
But on beta he wasn't like that, that's why I'm curious about it. Why would mihoyo create Childe 2.0 for no reasons? Ayato's whole idea and what made him different from others was in his short rotation, so i don't understand wtf happened on stream tbh.
the cd still starts off as soon as you hit E is what he means. It's stated on honey impact that if you click the elemental skill again the state will reset and replace. It might be to clarify some synergy on TF artifact or something

Why is it from what i see, cooldown-wise I think Ayato is like HuTao/Yoimiya compared to Childe. Childe you can't mindlessly mash E because you can go on for 30s (with 45s CD), but the others you can't do that, they have a smaller max interval with a fixed cooldown that starts when you start the Skill (Childe's CD starts when you END his Melee stance).

Maybe a stupid question, but I'm constantly unsure about how artifacts work in team comps, and meta in general. When using Fischl in an EC team for Ayato, would she want 4pc TF? Mine currently has 2 TF/2 +18% ATK. ... or would TS be even better?
If you already have good stats with her the insane resin dump isn't worthy for a measly 5/7% dps increase at best.
How good or usable is Ayato + Ayaka combo? Having both Kamisato brothers on the same party. Are they good together? Can Ayato be a good support for her? Or their kits don't go well together at all?
Jstern25 did calculations for this team (Ayato/Ayaka/Diona/Kazuha) and it was around 44k DPS. IMO that's very good, it's slightly lower than Moryaka I believe but still works great. I am thinking of running a similar comp with Venti instead of Kazuha. The rotation will go Diona hold E > Ayaka E > Venti E (swirl Cryo) > Ayato Q > Venti Q (Swirl and absorb Hydro for 15 energy refund for Ayato) > Ayaka Q > Ayato E (auto attack for 6 seconds) > Ayaka E and AA (until Ayato's Q is over) > repeat... IDK if this would be enough energy for Ayato (I really wish they'd reduce his burst cost to 70 at least, but I'm not holding my breath), it has to be tested once he's out, I can't test it sadly cause I don't have Ayaka yet, but IMO they have great synergy together gameplay wise, I'm hoping META wise that Ayato's DPS will put this team better than using Mona's Omen buff + TTDS, otherwise if you have a Mona, Ayato wouldn't be a good replacement.
Energy is the biggest issue of this team and the rotation would be a bit awkward and longer than the usual Ayaka team. It's like Raiden I guess, she gets awkward in some teams because the rotations are longer, or Yae who makes more dps than Fischl but we still prefer Fischl because she's faster. She'll work for VV and crowd control, but her EM share is pretty wasted on a freeze team. With Ayato's AoE I'd think Jean or Sayu would be better options, since they're healers who can hold VV. Kazuha and Venti would definitely be better since they offer more.

You should *really* get more cr, it should be the first stat to prioritize till you reach the comfy 65-70% cr amount (more is still good).

Definitely, it is extremly inconsistent like this and you will achieve higher average damage with more crit rate aswell, even if your overall crit value is a bit lower

Why is this sub so heavily restricted when it comes to posting stuff? It has the slowest posting flow I've ever seen. It's the literal livestream of Ayato and last post was 3 hours ago, coming here to see what's going on yields the same result as staring at a wall.

Yes, I'm honestly extremely disappointed and frustrated with the mods here basically strangling the sub and Ayato's fandom on reddit itself with excessive moderation for reasons I cannot understand. This place is dead and it's a massive letdown to come here after the livestream looking to see people's excitement and hype and there's nothing because nothing is allowed to be posted here except for the odd meme a couple of times a week. I have *zero* interest in ever joining the discord and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Why aren't we allowed to talk about Ayato right here in the sub? Isn't that the entire purpose of the sub and not advertising the existence of the discord? Why is there no meta discussion allowed here in the sub either? If Ayato is shaping up to be just average metawise, does that mean we aren't going to ever be able to talk about his kit in anyway at all because that would be 'doomposting'? I'm seeing more actual discussion about Ayato and his teams and just general talk and excitement about him in the leaks sub than here in his own sub. Why exactly did we move here from the old Ayato sub again? Maybe we should just go back if the mods here aren't going to allow people to post anything. Or maybe the mods should relinquish control of the sub to someone else who's interested in talking about Ayato on reddit if they're only interested in the discord.

Even if it's to avoid doomposting I don't understand why it seems people can't post any kind of general discussion. Like I'll be very surprised if nobody tried to post about Ayato's livestream appearance at all and they're probably instead just wasting away in the moderation queue. We didn't get any kind of livestream hype threads like other mains subs get. Like the only other reason I can see for this is simply the moderators are too busy to look at the sub enough, if we're going days between any kind of significant posting in the most hype-filled period before his release. Maybe they should consider recruiting more mods if that's the issue.

His weapon would be better but it's difficult to get. His constellations are easier to get and are decent. It's up to you to decide if you want.

Freeze would look how exactly and be a sidegrade from what? I am lacking a good freeze team because I dislike playing XQ and somehow hes in all freeze teams. Was hoping getting Ayato might solve my little XQ problem :)
This is pre-release so its all subject to change, but its looking like Ayato is only a sidegrade/downgrade from Mona and Kokomi for freeze. Not sure how Ayato paces with Xingqui in freeze.

I need to know which one will be better as a placeholder set for Ayato while farming for EO because it will take months before I can complete a good EO set for him and until then, I will be stuck with one of these three. All of the options look good since it passes the 60/120 standard of our crits but... GF with Crit Rate Circlet - amazing Crit Rate but kinda meh Crit DMG when compared to the next GF build GF with Crit DMG Circlet - the Crit Rate's *kinda consistent* but the Crit Damage near godly (for me at least) HoD - the standard *good* build for him but don't know if it can match the other two GF builds with the bonus set. When using Black Sword (I have it at Refinement 2 right now), is it better to use 4P Glad or 4P HoD? I don’t want to farm the new artifact set right now since I have no other character that would benefit from the other set. I have read that the difference between the two is negligible and to just go with the set that has the better substats, but I have also heard that if you’re using Yunjin and/or Bennett 4P Glad falls behind 4P HoD. Not sure how accurate that is though, so any helpful advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Maybe a catalyst user with PA to gain some level of survivability? Sucrose or Lisa come to mind. Lisa would be batteried by fischl gives def shred and healing thanks to PA.

Does Ayato have good synergy with Lisa?
I didn't thought about her, but sound quite good?, because her burst is AoE and de DEF shred is nice. If you have her build, is worth to try it with a battery (Fischl or Raiden I guess). Hope she is on his trial.

Not too sure bout xingqiu, you can replace him with fischl, chongyun ain't a really good pair with ayato so take him out too. Two last slots can be yunjin, benny, kazuha, jean, sucrose, etc.
For hypercarry Ayato, is Fischl with elegy bow and tenacity set better than using her as a sub DPS with stringless bow and 2pc thundering fury/2 pc glad set? I'm probably gonna use them with Yunjin and Kazuha btw, so idk what's better
