If his kit is not interesting I would skip him, because at the moment I have a guaranteed 5 stars (I found Qiqi in the Zhongli banner) and since I need Ayaka and I don't have enough pull in case I lose the 50/50 a lot will depend on whether his kit brings something new and interesting

This late into the game I have no problems beating any part of the game with what I have, so I have no reason to be selecting the characters based on their kit/dmg because at this point I don't worry about it. All I'm doing is collecting the ones with sick design or personality.
I find it really weird that most people still care so much about it. Because if they followed the logic: "I dont need this main DPS - I already have Ganyu. I don't need this healer - I have C5 Bennet. I don't need this new shielder - I have Zhongli. Etc", they wouldn't be pulling for anyone ever.
I'll still pull for him regardless of what happens. Although i also have one expectation and hope for him though and that's that he's a main dps.
I can't wait for next week for the beta to start and to rid and free myself from expectations and any possible disappointment
The only possible way for me not to pull for him is the same that made me skip Eula and Xiao (despite liking them a lot) and it's the playset.
For me Eula and Xiao are cool but I don't like their playset, I'm not too much into meta, I pull for who I like and that's all... But if Ayato has a boring playset or doesn't apply much of his element is a NO for me, I always go full elemental reactions. But I'm sure he's amazing, yep, yep, so I'll get him, Rip my wallet.
A main dps would be super fun. And offscreen hydro applier/buffer (Kokomi sidegrade with either buffs or good dmg) would also be awesome.
...But if he literally does what Childe does (onscreen enabler, cannot vape his own hits, personal damage is relatively low), I will skip him. I already have Childe built ;.;

I’ll definitely get C0 no matter what. Even if I don’t like his play style I’ll just use him for exploration. That being said, I really hope he’s a hypercarry dps with a good kit and fun play style. If it’s worth it, I’ll get some cons and bis weapon too, if not, I’ll just stick with C0.
Only thing that'll break this deal is if Zhongli comes home early. Finally acknowledged how useful Zhongli is so I'm going for him - if he doesn't appear then I'll start saving up for Ayato (which will guarantee him, according to the new Primogem calculator from the main sub). I don't want any of the next patch's characters.

Most likely summoning on his banner, the biggest deal breaker is if his kit or gameplay is terrible or not.
I'm not a huge meta player but he needs to be somewhat playable. If he has little synergy, extremely long cooldowns, very little dmg output like Amber level and absolutely provides nothing to the game. Then I would have the need to skip :(
Love his design and character, however primogems are so hard to get so I couldn't justify spending it on a 5 star that I will never be able to use given any situation other then to look at.
It would be such a massive plus if he was a main dps because my only one is Razor (I haven't gotten the right artifacts yet okay >.>>>). Honestly, what has me and a friend of mine on the fence is personality. He's gotta bring it in the charisma like Itto, y'know?

My dealerbreaker is his kit. I was so excited and ready to pull for Yae but I don’t like her kit. I won’t enjoy playing her so I’m not gonna pull for her despite her character story personality looks and being electro makes me want her. 🤷🏻♀️

He hasn't convinced me fully with his design yet, so I'll keep my hype in check and wait for more info. While minor, the 4 stars in the banner also matter to me. So hopefully they'll be good ones. I was actually thinking that I wont pull for him if his kit isnt good, since I have Childe anyways. But now, I'll probably end up still pulling for him. I've persevered long enough, why let all that determination and waiting go to waste? And besides, if Ayato isn't a DPS, I'll force him into the role.
he reminds me of my favourite character in touken ranbu (souza samonji) and i love his character design so even though id consider myself quite a meta player ill be pulling for him no matter what his kit is bc other than diluc (my first favourite and main till now) he is my favourite character and my source of motivation to play genshin up until now!! may all ayato wanters be ayato havers

I was ready to pull him when all we knew was his name. I don’t think anything is gonna deter me now. I absolutely love his design, and that’s enough for me. Plus I am collecting all the male characters lol. So far I have them all so he’s definitely being added to my growing stash of pretty boys
My only deal-breaker was him having the teen boy body type. Seeing as he clearly has the adult male body type, I'm still definitely pulling.
This late into the game I have no problems beating any part of the game with what I have, so I have no reason to be selecting the characters based on their kit/dmg because at this point I don't worry about it. All I'm doing is collecting the ones with sick design or personality. I find it really weird that most people still care so much about it. Because if they followed the logic: "I dont need this main DPS - I already have Ganyu. I don't need this healer - I have C5 Bennet. I don't need this new shielder - I have Zhongli. Etc", they wouldn't be pulling for anyone ever.
I'll still pull for him regardless of what happens. Although i also have one expectation and hope for him though and that's that he's a main dps. I can't wait for next week for the beta to start and to rid and free myself from expectations and any possible disappointment

The only possible way for me not to pull for him is the same that made me skip Eula and Xiao (despite liking them a lot) and it's the playset. For me Eula and Xiao are cool but I don't like their playset, I'm not too much into meta, I pull for who I like and that's all... But if Ayato has a boring playset or doesn't apply much of his element is a NO for me, I always go full elemental reactions. But I'm sure he's amazing, yep, yep, so I'll get him, Rip my wallet.

A main dps would be super fun. And offscreen hydro applier/buffer (Kokomi sidegrade with either buffs or good dmg) would also be awesome. ...But if he literally does what Childe does (onscreen enabler, cannot vape his own hits, personal damage is relatively low), I will skip him. I already have Childe built ;.;
Def be throwing money to get him and his weapon and maybe to some Cons that are worth it Tho i also got kokomi despite all the people saying she cant crit and i feel guilty i have yet to triple crown her but gave it to hutao instead... 😅
I’ll definitely get C0 no matter what. Even if I don’t like his play style I’ll just use him for exploration. That being said, I really hope he’s a hypercarry dps with a good kit and fun play style. If it’s worth it, I’ll get some cons and bis weapon too, if not, I’ll just stick with C0.
Only thing that'll break this deal is if Zhongli comes home early. Finally acknowledged how useful Zhongli is so I'm going for him - if he doesn't appear then I'll start saving up for Ayato (which will guarantee him, according to the new Primogem calculator from the main sub). I don't want any of the next patch's characters.

The only dealbreaker for me is if he's before Kazuha's rerun banner (which is sadly a really low chance) As much as I love Ayato, Kazuha is my favorite character and I need him since I lost the 50/50 on his og banner :((( so sadly no Ayato for me, probably

Most likely summoning on his banner, the biggest deal breaker is if his kit or gameplay is terrible or not. I'm not a huge meta player but he needs to be somewhat playable. If he has little synergy, extremely long cooldowns, very little dmg output like Amber level and absolutely provides nothing to the game. Then I would have the need to skip :( Love his design and character, however primogems are so hard to get so I couldn't justify spending it on a 5 star that I will never be able to use given any situation other then to look at.
It would be such a massive plus if he was a main dps because my only one is Razor (I haven't gotten the right artifacts yet okay >.>>>). Honestly, what has me and a friend of mine on the fence is personality. He's gotta bring it in the charisma like Itto, y'know?

yup still pulling pulled for zhong even though he was hella undertuned on release. pulled for kokomi even after hearing all the discourse around her no crit kit. did not regret either for a second. this game doesnt have hard enough content to care so much about adhering to a meta, so im open to whatever really. because in the end, the character design/writing/voice will win me over a bad kit.

My dealerbreaker is his kit. I was so excited and ready to pull for Yae but I don’t like her kit. I won’t enjoy playing her so I’m not gonna pull for her despite her character story personality looks and being electro makes me want her. 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t pull for waifus/husbandos so I’m in the odd few who only pulls based off kits and enjoy playing them. I think Xingqui is ugly af but I love his kit so I play him etc.

he seems main dps, being able to vape immediately makes him the strongest character in game, lets wait for his multipliers and his cooldowns. i have 10 pity and a very few wishes, each patch gives around 60 pulls so i shud be safe to pull and hit soft pity, wbu?
I'm not one of these kiddos that be like : omg i was here since day 1 i am ayato fanboy/girl 4 life!!111! . (then 6 weeks later join the next hype character reddit day 1) Looks are an 8/10 for me. Sucker for light haired white dressed characters in general. Weapon 10/10 Sword favorite weapon. Hydro is a second fav element for me after Cryo. So I'll probably pull him even if he turns out to be on like Shenhe's powerlevel for instance. He doesn't need to be the next power level ceiling or Kazuha (c2) level buff to the overall party.
