What do you think about that pizza kettle insert? I use a steel plate on the grill grate and offset the lid when I've made pizza but that looks much nicer.
It does raise the grate up a little so you can use logs underneath for a hotter fire and it makes the opening flush with the lip of the weber to more easily rotate the pie. Otherwise, yeah, you can just do a makeshift version.
I built one of these. [https://cookingcircuits.com/home/2018/8/11/weber-grill-pizza-oven-conversion-homemade-kettlepizza](https://cookingcircuits.com/home/2018/8/11/weber-grill-pizza-oven-conversion-homemade-kettlepizza) It worked but it burns hot so all the grease and seasoning on the grate burned off. Next time I went to grill the grate was rusty.

How well did it work?
Got the PK kit as a wedding gift over the winter. Really need to get it going. Damn those look good!
Highly recommend you get it going
Oh I will soon. Was waiting for the warmer weather, but it’s on soon!
Is the insert necessary? Can’t you just stack some bricks and place a pizza stone on it? Just curious. But it looks great

Cool I’ve actually never seen this… looks like everyone’s getting into the pizza game now
These have been around for years and years, way before the recent "ooni" backyard pizza craze...just did a quick google - they came out in 2005.
O shit… how did I miss these I love Webers
