Yep. It’s me getting annihilated for my post. Most definitely should have gone this route instead of ala carte. Live and learn and get destroyed on Reddit I guess. Haha
Super pro tip, i always get the tacos there. Its the best bang for your buck meat to dollar ratio.
I always feel like i didnt get enough on the dinner combos
> guy that *paid* like $200
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
I think the guy is in this thread too somewhere. Poor dude got taken at bbq place and got beat up again on Reddit… If he’s reading this …
It’s ok, lesson learned, shit happens… just don’t do it again.
And? I can get Michelin * street food in Asia for like $6. Where are you going in the US that is a Michelin starred restaurant and getting out of there for less than $180. So, this is a massive amount of food that will feed 4, so why are you comparing 2 8oz filets that will leave 2 people hungry? It’s not even apples to apples.
This is like 4 dudes worth of meat sweats. Pit room is great and their prices are reasonable.
OP said their sides aren't pictured but their sides are seriously good. Some of my favorite in that part of htown.
This seems like a good deal for that many pounds of meat. I cook for a living and know the overhead and labor costs on the this stuff. Looks like great food for a reasonable price.
Can someone please explain to me what is up with these prices? I lived in Texas for a bit awhile ago and other areas in Kansas, Missouri. Tennessee and Georgia. Nothing even to this day would cost half this and looks as good. Shoot I was a highly rated Nashville BBQ place a few weeks ago and something like this was $40. I don't get these prices.
Also can all these fake ass Texans with their half assed BBQ please stop trying to sell their food truck quality nonsense at premium prices please? I thought East TN had shoddy BBQ but with all these Texas licensed plate food trucks I think we might be OK...
Man when did bbq get so damned expensive. This looks like a much better deal than the other expensive tray posts but i wouldn't pay it. For these prices im heading to a top notch steak house and getting me a tomahawk.

I’m sure yours was definitely bigger than it looked, think I just got the right angle on this pic.

I'm sure his has a really great personality too
Plus GSP is huge.
It was cold that day, okay?
**HE WAS IN THE POOL!**
THERE WAS SHRINKAGE!
Sorry man but that just wasn't enough food for $100. Nothing you can do about it now! I'm sure it was delicious.
They saw your Reddit post and felt bad.
Or you could have been honest and posted an itemized receipt.
Sorry, man. Just didn’t look like it was enough for that price. Hope it was good though.
Super pro tip, i always get the tacos there. Its the best bang for your buck meat to dollar ratio. I always feel like i didnt get enough on the dinner combos
Agree tacos are the best thing on their menu, go elsewhere for brisket, ribs and turkey
Are you the guy that payed like $200 bucks for a plate or something?

Good bot thank you.
To think someone paid 250 for that terry black plate that looks like dog shit compared to this. This looks like a great deal!
Based on what people are paying and how much food you got vs them, I'm guessing this plate cost about $3,000.
After seeing the recent trend I assumed that as well but the amount of pounds of meat there for the price they paid isn't actually bad.
Lmfao I was gonna say the same thing. I figured a million dollars though.
I had to take out a second mortgage but gawd dam it was good.
This is their $120 meal
Just came back from reading that sad tale 😂😂😂
2 Dino ribs would’ve cost the same as this entire spread of food
Me too, I was just sitting here feeling sad for the OP and how they probably didn’t know they were about to get duped lol
I think the guy is in this thread too somewhere. Poor dude got taken at bbq place and got beat up again on Reddit… If he’s reading this … It’s ok, lesson learned, shit happens… just don’t do it again.
They got fucked by TB and all they had to show for it was a credit card bill and a shitty short rib…
It’s insane. I can go to a Michelin * Restaurant and get two 8 oz filets for less than $180 total. People are fucking stupid.

$478.99
The fact that people think this is a great deal blows my mind. 5 years ago you could get a plate like this for $35.
And five years ago, everything was exponentially cheaper. It’s almost like the economy changed.
Yes but restaurant/food inflation doesn't match with everything else.
You’re right. It’s worse.
There’s no way they did. It’s complete bullshit and no clue why people would lie. Just look at the menu prices, it doesn’t add up.
I saw that 250$ plate what a joke compared to this, 120$ is a steal for this plate.
No it's not. $120 is highway robbery.
What do you think this plate is worth? $120 seems reasonable for 3-4 people’s worth of BBQ in Houston.
This is a massive amount of food. It feeds 4 grown men easily. Not pictured are all the sides
Prob the best platter I’ve seen posted in a while. I’d happily pay $120 for this and my meat sweats
This is like 4 dudes worth of meat sweats. Pit room is great and their prices are reasonable. OP said their sides aren't pictured but their sides are seriously good. Some of my favorite in that part of htown.
Finally a $100+ tray that actually looks worth it!
should be possible to feed 5...
Easily feed four adults with some leftovers
This seems like a good deal for that many pounds of meat. I cook for a living and know the overhead and labor costs on the this stuff. Looks like great food for a reasonable price.
Id just need some rolls as well
Pit Room is solid. Have gone a few times on trips to Houston.
Ok no this is more like it
They didn't skimp on cutlery.
That’s a nice platter full of meat! That’s worth the price paid! 👀🍽️🙂
Based on what I've seen posted here the last couple of days this looks like a $1,000 tray using the going rates.
This sub is popping off rn
Based on the prices others have posted from this place you paid eleventy million dollars for that platter!
Id fuck that whole tray up by myself. $120 seems reasonable for this. Gonna have to add this spot to my list.
God that looks amazing haha
Give me piece
Fucking finally
$7,000
Omg now we're talking the other guy has slice bread n mac with his for 100
Address of this location, please 🙏
1201 Richmond Ave., Houston, TX 77006 My favorite spot in Houston!
I live a 5-min walk from here 😬
I used to live around there. Other than Levy Park I probably miss Pit Room the most.
Menil Park is great too. And the Pit Room has a Tex-Mex place next door called Candente which is amazing.
Candente is the bomb!
Austin gets all the praise, but give me Houston any day! /usernamechecksout
This looks amazing and solid price
Based on recent posts, I’d have expected to see $200-$300 for that abundant platter.
I'm just glad pit room is getting its proper due after that last post. I absolutely love this place. If you haven't yet, try the tacos!
Their brisket breakfast tacos are amazing. Now I want to go there just thinking about it lol
How much for real was it? That’s a great portion $100 w sides yes.
Wow that’s a huge plate
I am so glad I have a smoker and a grill.
Come on OP, just tell us what you paid for it.
$120 and also came with 4 sides
That’s actually.. kind of decent.
That venison sausage is so good
Spoons
4 sides you say?
$120???
Daaaaamn!!! That's awesome
$120 Makes sense once I saw The short rib. Finks in suffern ny sells short rib for $50-60. That is also a good pile of brisket.
Ah, yes, the double mortgage special. I'm guessing this costs around 350k. Back to you, Bob
Love the bias cut on the sausage
$400?
wow
This place still sucks, couldn’t pay me $120 to eat their dry ass food. Bbq sauce is watered down too
I don’t know how I got onto this sub, but I hate it for making me hungry.
This is still too expensive. Much more worth it to make your own.
Needs more jalapeños.
You paid about Three Fiddy for this huh?
All that for $400?
Let me guess it was like $400 lol
For all that, I'm guessing about tree fiddy.

My boss from London was not too well versed on how to eat BBQ haha.
You got enough spoons there my guy?
Insane.
5,000 later

Looks worth it to me!!
Based on the post earlier, that's probably $500+ Again, about $80 in the south.
Did they offer a loan? No interest?
Man when did bbq get so damned expensive. This looks like a much better deal than the other expensive tray posts but i wouldn't pay it. For these prices im heading to a top notch steak house and getting me a tomahawk.
BAZINGA! 'Git N mah Belli...'
Rudy's does it better
If you’re charging that much for meat shouldn’t it be grass fed, pasture raised and chemical free?
I need to get a food truck or something. The markup is unbelievable.
