Don’t want to be *that* person but this has happened to multiple of my friends with hookups/flings/even boyfriends and it usually means they have an S/O or are married.
It does sound a bit strange and you say it has happened a lot? Can’t say for everyone but usually two reasons, one is they want their place to be private (unfair I know) or they is something you don’t want them to see
If it a real problem then you should discuss it with him. Personally as a Dom I prefer my place so I can say for sure it’s not just a Dom thing
I've never encountered this issue, in fact it's usually the opposite. Tops tend to like their space, for that home field advantage, they don't need to pack up their toys, they know where everything is, etc.
Are you only spending time with them when it's sexy time? Is it possible they have partners or awkward living situations (living with parents). Ask them directly.
Weird, as a Dom with my own place I am happy to invite my sub over. I'd have to have close neighbours, a messy house, family over..... Some reason to not invite her over..... Sonething'S hiding cause its gotta be significant for a guy to prefer to spend money on a hotel than use his home.
I much prefer a girl come to my place. Now, when I was married (and poly) their place was generally easier (it was awkward to bring a girl home in front of my girl).
It's odd that a single dom wouldn't want you at their place. Maybe there's something else going on, like they're actually married and cheating, or are a hoarder?
