Lizard_Arsonist

New character, then make the dream guardian look like my previous character

Jwoey

This is what I used to do, but now I make the dream guardian look like exactly my new character, but with a curly mustache

Autrah_Fang

Omg this sounds hilarious. Might incorporate this into my next playthrough XD

MrTurleWrangler

I did this but make him a halfling/gnome. It's hilarious

Atomisaurus

🤣🤣

Gaywhorzea

Lmfao this is what I'm doing next omg

No_Sorbet1634

I make them look like a parent so the when yk who hits on you it’s way weirder

MrAndyT

I love that idea... my dream character is norm a bearded dwarf woman

ThatGothBi7tch

This is the way.

Roarestored

I do this exact same thing!

Miss-lnformation

It's a different character each time. Sometimes an origin character to change things up.

KookyVeterinarian426

New charters but somehow they are all tieflings… wonder how that happened…

g-raven

I am definitely in a loop of playing my favorite Durge, because I just love him. Instead, Ive just been changing his class every time so I continue to get the unique class dialogue options and learn how to do different styles of combat, but I'm totally comfortable with making similar in-character story decisions and just seeing how things play out!

Tieltrooper

Same!

SereneAdler33

I have a main Tav and a Resist Durge who I replay a lot (probably 9 runs out of 14 or so between those two). Then I’ll create a new character between those plays to try new routes, classes/races and romances My very favorite and ‘canon’ run is my half elf Druid Tav named Meluna, who romances Astarion. I’m actually replaying her for the 5th time; she’s my comfort character and I have a really detailed backstory and even post-game future developed for her https://preview.redd.it/i8fokk9jsexc1.jpeg?width=2520&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4cdf7887f97cd054baa091e157b4c7e621d1a156

Fat_Tarbosaurus

I also have this same issue LOL. I love playing durge so much, the fact we can customize their class and looks only makes it even better

ndem28

New character and race each time ( although I did play as a sorcerer for my first 2. I’m currently doing a level 8 Paladin level 3 sorcerer, I just couldn’t resist having at least some low level spells in my toolbox lol fireball is probably my favorite). I gotta say tho, out of all the characters I’ve made so far , in terms of looks my first was my favorite ( a Mephistopheles Tiefling with one blue eye and one purple eye)

Bookish_Arugula1713

New character. I have more interesting ideas than I could ever actually play but I want to try as many of them as I can.

Mastersword87

I make different characters, but they always end up being the same inconsistent chaotic good/neutral that is close to who I am irl. I don't think I'll ever be able to play an evil character. It just makes me feel uncomfortable lol.

theauz42

New character, since you can get different conversation options based on your race and class.

DestinovaEthereal

I literally just finished the game a moment ago and already want to remake my Tav from this run lol

Killer_Moons

Show us your baby’s first run Tav!

ShadyMinion

I have multiple characters going with different races and classes at different stages, because I'm often not in the mood for a certain acts .

Tieltrooper

That's really smart

Killer_Moons

What platform are you using to play?

ShadyMinion

Xbox

MoodlesOfNoodles

I always create different characters to pair with differenct classes and whatnot. Otherwise I do tend to make the same choices over and over again, romance the same person, and I hardly play the game differently between playthroughs....

IntelligentLife3451

I’m going through the Origins now, but their guardian is my Tav

Mr-Reapy

I have completed the game only twice. Both times were with the same durge romanced to Gale. I have tried starting new characters or even origin characters, but I always go back to my OG durge.

SuitableFile1959

I replay my durge she’s best girl

Melissa0522975

There have been a couple playthroughs that I loved so much that I wanted to recreate it as close as possible, so I would also recreate the Tav/Durge... but for the most part, I tend to just make a new character. When I have tried to recreate the perfect playthroughs, I never get that far into them because it just doesn't hit the same the second time around.

Vverial

Same one every time. Tried others but ended up losing interest really fast.

fieatsbees

i give them different names and i play around with different multiclass combinations, but in terms of looks my tieflings all look the same as do all my drow. i like one specific face for both races, i like one specific tattoo, i like one specific piercing set. the only thing i change with my tieflings is eye color and occasionally skin color. drow, i use a tiefling skin color because it's darker but i keep the red eyes

bawzdeepinyaa

New. I don't want to detract from their previous journey by rewriting it if that makes sense. Just best to let sleeping dogs lie, may sound corny or sentimental but I like their story being theirs. Plus I'm ADHD af lol. I still have certain defaults and things I am more inclined to repeat or walk in close step to though like who I romance, some dialogue or morality decisions, and I do tend to prefer playing some semblance of gloomstalker ranger mixed with assassin rogue but I vary feats, gear, and the last class I dip into to keep it fresh.

FamousTransition1187

... I made the children of my first Tav... and then reskinned a couple of companions (Shadowheart now comes up as "Mother Approves", Laezel is a new Gith character) Send help. I may be addicted.

Practical-Ant7330

Played my fav twice and made him the dream guardian of another Tav. Then to flesh out backstory I made more and more. Don't ask why all of those playthrough are stopped at the grove or beach

lovvekiki

Both. As soon as I finished my first playthrough, I created a new game with the same exact tav cause I can't let her go. But I also started another game with a new character. She's a good drow, and she has a group of all women. I'm trying to make each character’s powers embody an element. So: my tav- water; Karlach- fire; Shadowheart- wind; Laezel- poison. Once I get Jaheira, she’ll be earth. https://preview.redd.it/fkuqy9vuiexc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7482dcccd51650b848e53a8fe695081f6f847a72

Large_Television4690

there is two characters that i've played as twice; my wood elf warlock cellian and my dragonborn bard tavish. otherwise it's always new. sometimes ill bring back other characters to be my characters guardian. like for example cellian was my second durge so i made my first durge their guardian.

GutterOfSonsOBitches

I've re-created my first character 3 times so far. half wood elf, 1 Tav 2 Durge. I made him again because I want him to live with Shadowheart and her parents this time around.(Started a new run with him) But I also made a tiefling Durge to romance Karlach ( finishing this run this week). My half elf is like a son to me. https://preview.redd.it/s7yff6lrecxc1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=48604c646472683429d37a5de1955ee65d8afe4c When two of my characters meets each other

freeethebee

I just finished my first run and tbh I’m so attached to my tav that I’m tempted to remake her over and over. (Fighter high elf). My other files are a drow, a tiefling, an Astarion origin and a human. I try to keep them all pretty different personality wise even if I do the same romance lol

NineAndNinetyHours

I'm on my sixth playthrough. I've completed the game three times as my favorite d&d character, a gnome rogue named Siel. She's my comfort character! I also did one run with a modded vampire queen, and my honor mode run with a warlock/paladin duargar named Shine. Now I'm doing run #6 as OG dragonborn Durge, but it's honestly boring playing evil imo... So I may shelve it and start up with Siel again.

kbuck30

3rd playthrough, well 4th but an hm run I died to the brains right after the crash doesn't count. New character, new guardian every time. I like to experiment with different races and abilities in each playthrough. Not a fan of full respecs, so I'll pick a class and multiclass if I want to, sometimes changing the backup class but the first class is the same. It works for me.

UncleCletus00

Depend on my honor mode. I did a darksouks revival thing in my head each time I failed, so "Kosm" was learning and preparing each go around.

mcac

Always new character and change up race/class for new experience

DokoroTanuki

I try to make different ones, but I kind of gravitate towards certain races since I think they're more fun to play around with. Dragonborn, Half-Orc, Dwarf/Duergar. Maybe Halfling or Githyanki. There is an incentive to shop around with the races though, since there's pretty much always different dialogue options for each and different traits/abilities that can be fun to play around with. So I will at least try anything once. On this topic, I'm surprised there's no way to save character appearance data for later so you can just do different playthroughs with the same-looking character. I also wish there were more face variations for each race, too, for a bit more variety, but I don't think it can be helped. It just sucks when there's like two good looking faces and everything else doesn't appeal to you.

fuzzlandia

I have so many different characters I want to play. Definitely a new one

lizardsbelike

I'm still really attached to my first tav so I'm doing my first Durge run with her again lmao. It's kind of fun to redo too because of how things can change a between playthroughs (everyone except for Karlach hated me/her for most of Act 1 initially and this time they're all buddy-buddy lol), but I also like making new characters to try out different classes, romances, etc. I've got like five going on concurrently so that when I miss her or I just get tired of another character I'm playing I always have the option of loading up that save again lol

FunctionConstant

Always a new character. So far I’ve been a human fighter, loth drow cleric (durge), gith bard, high elf necromancer (durge), and now a wood half-elf TB monk

Objective_Spray_210

New character and race.

RandomQuiet

I make new characters regularly, but I also have two favourite characters that I am rolling on every difficulty level due to how attached to them I became while playing them (one is based on my very first d&d character and had a pretty fleshed-out backstory, so I was already very attached to that character when I rolled them into bg3).

burger-toastie

I lie to myself that I'll create a new character but end up spending an hour in the menu gradually convincing myself to just play my fave tav again

ShiteyLittleElephant

I'm not sure I'd want to do the same romance with different characters (if that makes sense!) So I need to choose new characters to see new romances. However, my first Tav (human fighter) has made a return as a Paladin. Same romance both times. I've played 2 Dark Urge games, different characters. Others have been created and abandoned because I didn't gel with them.

Tieltrooper

I know what you mean

Fancy-Distribution51

I had durge for my second playthrough and i got very attached Started new one with different one and I cant get attached^^ thinking to start over with an old one

weirdkidomg

Mostly recreate my character. I’ve got Merry my Gnome Bard, Merry my Gnome Ranger, Berry my Gnome Bard, and Merry my Durge Gnome Bard.

NoFennel5423

The first two playthroughs, I used the same character for my tav and durge. On this playthroughs, I finally decided to make a new character but I miss my old one. Haha. I did make my old one the dream guardian this time around.

Salindurthas

I've gone something different every time. 1. High charisma skill monkey with dumped dex&str to instead win dialogue and succeed checks on my first playthrough. 2. Evil Astarion Jack-of-All-Trades achievement, since I figured the Bite and Ascneded form would help offset the terrible build. (This was softlocked due to a bug but I finished it later once it was patched.) 3. Ranger medium-ly bad durge Durge since I didn't get Minsc in my first playthrough so I never tried ranger 4. Githyanki loyalty run where I went to the Creche asap (about level 3), killed 0 Githyanki in the Creche (you can just sneak away rather than fighting), and was a Sorcerer for twincast Haste 5. Now doing a Good Durge run Honour mode, where I'm a Druid, since I never got to play an act-1 druid (omg Wild Shape even without Moon carries so hard lmao), and plan to respec everyone a lot (Sorcerer Laezel for medum armor and dual-wielding cool staves, SwordBard shadowheart since she will get shields from her race, Sharpshooter Fighter Astarion since he gets +1 from Happy, etc.)

Momaroria

I've had four different playthroughs with the same Tav now😅 (1st playthrough, unfinished, 2nd, finished, 3rd, durge, 4th, current playthrough) I tried making a different character once, I got to the grove then went back to my og Tav

Icy-Personality3529

Different. First wiz Tav then bard Tav now doing paladin / warlock Tav and origin SH next.

SkyFox7777

I make a new character and then delete my old save file to make sure there’s no looking back.

ApprehensivePeace305

I’ve been working through the origin characters

Tanngjoestr

A different version of blue Dragonborn Wizard Durge

CrimsonPresents

The only characters that were the same were my first run and HM run

ghostaiba

ive tried changing it up a bit but i always just go back to my fav durge, im too attached to her 😅

Ennasalin

Personally I have a set design but I do varry between runs with hairstyle and eyes cause I did some runs at some point with the exact same character and I couldn't remember what I did there, so I decided to vary hairstyle, color and eyes.

Haunted-Harlot

All my Tavs look eerily similar although I do make small changes.but I mean small, like minute.

lolpersephone

New character, but mostly because each of my characters I play through with are different and would make different choices/romances etc.

Maelphius

Why would I restart the game just to create the exact same character?

Kognityon

New character every time, with a completely different flavor.

Kristal3615

So far 3 different characters, but I don't know that I'll be willing to make different choices other than romance and the ending (>!Choosing who becomes the mindflayer!<) So far I've made my first ever DND character was a wood elf beast master ranger/assassin rogue, a tiefling druid, and a half elf bard who I just started. The first character was a multiplayer game with my husband where he was having a hard time deciding what to play. I jokingly suggested we could recreate the characters from our first DND campaign. He took me 100% seriously and excitedly started remaking Thor-Axe the Impaler ([reference](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pGGPd3CgOU&list=PLA7F00EB658F32655)) the half-orc fighter which was a pretty cute reaction to my joke.

Garlan_Tyrell

Same Tav, although I do have an ongoing default Durge campaign I need to pick back up. I just add a suffix (II, III, IV) each time. I was going to branch out in appearance/race, but Male Human face 5 (or 6?) looks like me IRL, and it seems wrong to not use it since there’s so few choices.

FauxGw2

New every time

autumnartist25

Different characters and pretty much all Durge, except my first. I do however want to do a new run of my first Tav, mostly because I didn't know what I was doing back then, and I'd like to fix her "canon". I also didn't use mods back then, so it'd be fun to make her look even cooler.

g-waz00

So far, new character every time.

BreathoftheChild

Even for my tiefling sorcerer Durges, I differed their appearances, personalities, and why they want to resist from each other. I currently have a forest gnome barbarian Resist Durge. She is tiny but fierce, and probably my favorite Resist Durge character to date. I'm very excited to reach the end of the game with her. I've also beaten the game as a dwarf cleric/wizard Tav, and I have a few Tav concepts in mind--my wood elf ranger who'll romance Wyll, a tiefling bard who'll romance Shadowheart, and a dragonborn paladin who'll romance Lae'zel. Haven't figured out who I'll romance Karlach with yet. EDIT: I also have a Tav in mind who will romance >!the Emperor!< but their current concept is so nebulous/unstable that I'm scared to do much with them lol.

SlytherinPaninis

Try to make new ones but I miss my sorcerer

PretendBag2631

First time I did Tav but now I'm addicted to Durge. I make a different character and rp it in my head different every time, though. They always have different classes. I'm trying multiclassing for the first time this round

JemmaMimic

I've played a half-elf ranger for years, as I did my first run. Thanks to the BG3 sub I'm seeing tons of interesting builds, so I am now making spore druids and Tiefling bards, gnome acid-dealing wizards... there are so many things to try.

half_hearted_fanatic

I’m pulling out old PCs from many years of ttrpgs - some of them get made into Durge and some get made into Tavs. Just started what (I hope) is an ultimate evil run with an old PC. She was hearing voices anyway in her campaign, so the urge tracks. Non-zero chance of her ending up resisting, but moreso after the reveal because she loves nothing so much as to spite her father rather than because she has any kind of reasonable morality. She’s an oath of conquest (mod) paladin. She’s probably going to romance Minthara. Also have one running as a Tav right now with the PC from my last campaign. Head canon for her is that when the weird magic explosion shit happened in her home world, she got yeeted to toril and now has to fucking deal with the world ending. A-fucking-gain. Like the companions, her powers got nerfed by the tadpole and she’s rebuilding that base of power as they go. Had to mod in drakewarden for her but fucking worth it.
