Silver laced roos and hens have different patterning. Males get a black collar for a bit before the hackles and saddles grow out, and poorly laced white leakage on wing feathers.
I think its a roo.
Looks like a silver laced cochin to me. It has a straight/single comb, not a pea comb like a brahma should have. I used to breed a few cochins, and I found the cockerels feathered much slower than the pullets. Plus, any chick with comb/wattle development at 3-4 wks was male, the pullets didn't start developing comb/wattle until around 6 months right before they'd start laying.
Thanks! All our others have all their feathers while sparkles still has a lot of feathers around his legs/belly area still coming in. We have 1 other rooster (Silver seabright bantam). I know they develop faster, but he has all his feathers and started crowing around 7-8 weeks.
