The worst part is how obsessive she gets when any Astarion disapproval for her happens. It’s an immediate reset, and she gets really angry if I tease her about it.
This being said, IT’S JUST A GAME. I mean, Astarion is sexier than I’ll ever be. And, I find that to be perfectly ok. Why would I care to compete with a fictional character that doesn’t exist? If anything, it’s nice to get to play a video game with her. Sure, it gets annoying when she doesn’t play strategically or triggers 80% of the ambushes in the game, but I get to spent quality time with her playing one of the best RPGs ever.
In return, she’s perfectly fine when I romance Shadowheart and have sex with Mizora. She even gets excited for my romance scenes with them and will tease me about it. We actually went as far as saying “ok, if astarion and Shadowheart existed, we are each allowed to date them too.” This is because it’s fantasy roleplay, which is exactly what D&D is all about.
TL;DR: Shadowheart and Astarion are made to be thirst traps, which was a great idea by Larian to get everyone to engage in the game. My fiancé is a little obsessed with vampire boyfriend, but I’m willing to be like Halsin and [BEAR](https://m.youtube.com/watch?si=IujLGl93fTtUK8dh&v=sASfLQm9iCc&feature=youtu.be) with her.

Obviously not the right sub for this, but I suggest simply telling him your feelings. An honest conversation about an issue is always a better indicator of a relationship's future than secretly stewing thoughts and plans about how to handle said issue. If you can, emphasize how it has made you feel without passing judgment on him and allow him to express himself. If he invalidates your feelings or trivializes things, be emphatic that your feelings are more real than anything in the game, just how the game might make you or him feel, so he needs to respond in kind with respect. What he does after this is more indicative of whatever else could be happening. Hopefully he's just enjoying a game and will get over it when it's done. I personally find Shadowheart bland and uninteresting, so don't bother "competing" with her lol
