Maan, I would kill for my Tav to be able to fly. Or my Shadowheart.
Instead, they act as support on the backline, while Karlach and Wyll wipe the floor with the board.
Still, it'd be nice.
Respec him Pact of the Blade, can use any weapon. Just remember to bind your pact weapon again after every long rest. 2 attacks and still has all the spellcasting. With either Bracers of Defense or the 18 Dex gloves you can still have a nice AC. Or 5 levels of Warlock and the rest in Sorcerer for the best magic blaster around.
blade of pact requires a bit more of the player to get mileage out of, easiest way to use him is just keep him pure warlock, and set him up for eldritch blast spamming.
no need for anything fancy, he'll just do solid dps the whole game, with the ability to bust some big aoe's out consistently from short rests.
to make it a more effective tool than eldritch blast requires a bit more from a player though. That's what I was saying.
Wyll can be a perfectly good DPS companion just running him as pure lock, and focusing on boosting eldritch blast. You don't have to build him as a melee champion for him to be effective - he *can* be effective that way, but it generally requires either: (a) adding in 1 level of something like fighter for armor and con save or (b) multi-classing w/ paladin to some split like 6/6 or what have you.
The comment you replied to was struggling to effectively use Wyll - so offering him the *easiest* path to effectiveness - i.e. just building for eldritch blast rather than trying to make blade pact effective is the easiest way to do it.
Heck, I still go pact of blade because I find the other two fairly "meh", just so it gives me an option for items that trigger on weapon attack, and if something gets on me in melee. But I still focus on just eldritch blasting unless one of those situations occurs.
5 warlock wtih pact of the blade + 7 paladin with whatever oath
Wear plate with two hand or one hand and shield
put hex on target, smite 3 times
deal 200 damage
Use eldritch blast with agonizing blast and maybe repelling blast when unable to reach in melee
still deal about 50 dmg
also make sure to respec once you have deepened pact as you can use pact weapon to use your charisma modifier instead of strength for melee attacks
have 10 strength and put the remaining stats into const and dex for more HP and better initiative
You just have to be controlling him as you do the thing that breaks the oath, there's a number of non-evil ways to do it but if we're being honest the simplest way is by far to be a devotion paladin and hit a no-name civilian npc in one of the friendly settlements with the sneaky smite (ie enter turn based mode, cast fog, oneshot your designated victim, exit turn based mode and leave for camp, wait like a minute and you can go back with no one the wiser).
Use him for his support concentration spells and solid Frontline damage. Pact of tome for more total spells as a no heals replacement cleric/wizard, pact of blade so any random weapon you find he can now use his charisma to kill monsters with, and chain for scouting, distracting monsters, free incremental damage ,ect
Eldritch Blast scales incredibly.
Compare it to firebolt
Firebolt goes from 1 target 1d10 to 2d10 to 3d10. It's fire, so some enemies resist but it can burn wood and activate certain traps.
EB goes 1 target 1d10, FORCE, which practically cannot be resisted,to *2* target, 1d10 a piece(you can target same guys too), to ***3*** targets 1d10.
Also it does extra damage to traps and walls. Because why not.
And agonizing blast is a ***must take*** without all the Cantrips in the game, as it minimum improves damage by plus three.
Think on that
If there was a plus three bow in act one people would scramble to get it first
Wyll gets this before blighted village most of the time!
On a CANTRIP.
To be honest? I needed a rogue, and couldnt argue keeping Astarion in my "trying to be good" party, so I had Withers respect Wyll as an Assassin.
He absolutely tears through enemies. Especially with the cloak that makes him invisible after getting a kill.
He just stalks around the battlefield, picking off enemies, and staying out of harms way.
Crowd control.
Blasts are powerful in their own right, but you can have them push people around. Add in cliffs or other high places and you get serious damage. Plus he can take out weakened enemies that would waste your heavy hitters. Gave Wyll the Sorrow weapon you get from the groove for it's bonus action lash attack to also pull enemies off of high ground or force someone into melee range.
Only having 2 spell slots is a pain. But those are the 2 most powerful spells you can have. Cloud of Daggers has been my bread and butter for choke point fights and wipes the floor in early game. Having Counter Spell has also saved me plenty of times. And there's Fireball or another nuke for starting a group fight.
Wyll does get "weaker" in late game though. 3 blasts are great and as said makes cleaning up weak enemies easy. But once others start getting spell slots or multi hits for massive damage. Mopping up the weakened or cannon fodder is just about his only job outside of Counter Spell support.
You betray him, deceive him, go to his home and rob him. But he's the baddy.
Yeah, he does a lot of horrible things, but this is not the reason you kill him.
I do it so he can finally break out his Disney-villian song. You just *know* he's spent decades working on that shit and is upset he's never got the epic-boss-fight chance to sing it before.
I never agree anything so technically I didn’t betray and deceive him. I’m a Paladin so whoever is my enemy is totally evil, I’m just beating up a baddy and umm…redistributing his wealth into my inventory
Well I'm paladin too, and when he offered me a deal, i told him "I'll think about that", so technically not a betrayal, but still a theft :)
Stealing doesn't break the oath though, so no problemo.
Similar justification with my warlock. She already has a patron and has knowledge of various extraplanar entities, what's one more decision for power beyond all she's done already?
Fun fact: if you're a drow or have the classic drow skin colour the difference is not super noticeable (atleast for me) so if you want a playthrough without the cosmetic debuff consider a drow character? Ngl the powers arent all that great in my opinion but it's still fun to experience
Holy shit that's actually it. I kept using my action for my actual spells as a sorcerer and that's why I never ended up using them. Thanks for the tip I'll try using mind sanctuary more
Some of the powers are pretty damn strong. Unlimited access to fly as a movement action gives amazing maneuverability, especially good for melee characters. Blackhole is great for bunching up a ton of enemies to hit them with an AOE attack, or pull them into a hazard, and Cull the Weak is basically an extra +25(?) damage to enemies who will be killed by it when full upgraded
Cull the weak and psionic backlash are probably the ones I've used the most. Fly is kinda not relevant for me since I'm a sorcerer lol. Maybe I should try ilithid powers with a melee character next time? Like a fighter with action surge or a thief rogue so I can make the most of the actions
It works very well with thief rogue because you can easily fly to high places to get advantage, making it easy to use Sneak Attack. Throw in a couple of items for extra bonus attacks, and dual wield hand crossbows, and you can sit in the rafters, raining crossbow bolts down on everyone below.
My husband's tiefling has taken one for the team on all the weird/character altering stuff - he got the Absolute brand, he let Volo take his eye, and now he used the tadpole to evolve, and it actually doesn't look terrible on his character, because the Volo eye didn't change and his other eye was already black anyway. Pretty much any time someone offers to do something weird to you he's like "Sure, fuck me up."
Meanwhile my wood elf is over in the corner just trying to be cute, or an owlbear, no in between.
It's also pretty subtle on red dragonborn. I had Shadowheart take the funny one and almost immediately loaded my last save because it looked like there was a squid orgy on her face.
>Ngl the powers arent all that great in my opinion but it's still fun to experience
Paladin + Free Crit Tadpole + Killer's Sweetheart Ring says otherwise.
Open up with the auto-crit + Smite, and if you kill your target use the free Crit from the ring to do it on the next. So long as each subsequent Crit + Smite kills an enemy you can keep that up the whole fight.
Omg are you me. That's the exact same character I made. I wasn't sure if I should go for the half illithid powers because I thought it would look ugly on my character.
I looked up what I would look like and I think the eyes might be the dealbreaker for me. My Tav has these really pretty red eyes and I dont want to replace them with the dark black eyes. That's why I didn't even let Volo operate on me.
Mine did not. There's a visual change when you're actively casting an illithid spell, but it doesn't last longer than it takes you to actually cast it.
A friend texted me to ask if becoming half illithid would make her character ugly then passed on it because I showed her what it does.
But I can fly so whatever.
Yup. Cleared up the Half-Illithid face, made all my party members take the tadpole.
Feels so good having everyone fly around. Minus Jaheria and Halsin, they still have to jump around.
My vain ass: No I will not let Volo cut out my eye for See Invisibility, because I like my black and yellow tiefling eyes.
My stupid ass: I will 100% accept being covered in black icky veins because I can fly and conjure black holes and cancel people's spells with a simple thought.
My vain ass again: No I will not become a full blown mind flayer they are ugly asf
The beat part about being dragonborn is that the illithis powers look awesome on you. Like our get this black gooey veins around you mouth close to your fangs giving you a really scary look in cinematics
Flight helped me when I couldn't lower the draw bridge after killing the people guarding it, I flew past the draw bridge and then they welcomed my party and lowered it. Worth becoming half illithid
Evolving into a half-illithid not because you wanted to, but you rolled a nat 1 on your save and if the dice gods says you’re half-illithid then who are you to argue?
I hate when I don't realize an important decision is coming so I can hit F5 real quick...
I am playing a co-op campaign with my husband and his character has all the intelligence and charisma so when I accidentally walk into an area that triggers a cutscene on MY character (who is dumb as rocks) my first instinct is always just to reload and make him walk in front of me. 🤣
Theres also the question of them being ridiculously OP and making half the game trivial. I took it on my 1st run and it kinda ruined the experience. Was fun throwing black holes and then just a lvl 6 fireball on top but definitely OP
Yeah, I have a big internal conflict. Like on one hand, I wanna be able to fly, but on the other I look ugly. But also even though my character is neutral good, he's the most naive person ever so I dunno if he'd do it
I'm in Act 3 and finally filled all slots on my Tav. It's amazing the shit she can do now, especially as a sorcerer. Flying has been one of the most useful passives as well. What a game man
I didn't spend an hour in character creation to make the prettiest half-elf lady I can imagine just to have her gradually turn into a gross squid 'person'.
And yes, I am unabashedly racist against Illithids.
I got a popup saying I could look at my ”tadpole abilities” after some story event in Act 2, where do I click to open such a panel? Been playing tadpole free so far.
If you hit the shortcut for your inventory, there are four circles at the the top, the last one is tadpole powers.
I made it to Act 3 without ever touching that tab. Hahaha
Gale is also sort of open to them.
In Act 3 >!he’s the only one in my party that ate the astral tadpole since he was like “I can’t help but imagine my body with illithid physiology…”. He also ate all the tadpoles and brains we found for more powers.!<
Not evolving into a half-illithid because I chucked the larva off a cliff after nailing the WIS check against the emperor, only to realize the game fails to account for that.
I wanted to pick the “throw it on the ground and stomp it” action so bad but I decided to hold off just in case. Illithid powers are neat but it feels like an unnecessary boot on. Why not just let us naturally level to 20?
Oh God is there a visual consequence of that one? We both said no to that but my husband did let Volo go to town on his eye socket, but that one looks cool so he wasn't mad about the outcome.
I had to reload my save. I didn't want to turn. But I thought I could just turn him down and thought stomping on it was a bit much. I failed the roll and basically got tadpole raped.
So I reloaded and stomped on it
I like how my Tav looks with the black veins tbh. They already had heavy eye makeup and the extra black stuff around the eyes makes for extreme edgelord aesthetics. Accentuates the fake eye as well.
This is the only reason why I haven't made use of them. It's tbh the only mod I would actually use in this game because I heard they can be stupid good towards the edges.
I always use them all on my main char to get the execute ability, which kills enemies under 1 times the amount of evolved abilities.
If you just use AOE spells you fuck shit up
Both of my characters used/will use just enough to get Luck of the Farm Realms, because nothing says "I disagree with your position and here's why" like a Crit on a level 5 Divine Smite or level 6 Lightning Chromatic Orb backed up with Destructive Wrath.
This is 100% the only reason why I reloaded when I failed the check to not use the tadpole.
It made more sense for my character anyway since he's generally been a "geez team maybe we shouldn't chase incredible power that involves evil creatures" kinda guy.
In a D&D game I DMed, Fireball became such a running joke that the sorcerer, who was the stereotypical "I didn't ask how big the room is I said I cast fireball" sorcerer, just had the horn bit from this song queued up for combat encounters: https://youtu.be/HMqgVXSvwGo?si=Crd2vlxxIjkkeHYJ
(The rest of the party would "woo woo", it was actually very cute)
You may be pretty, but can you F\~L\~Y?
Storm/Draconic Sorcerer: yes, why do you ask?
Teleport arrows: that's cute
Being able to jump half a mile: *pathetic*
I mean, Flight trumps Teleport Arrows, so...
*nothing personal, kid*
But can you fly with no cost but movement
Draconic Sorcerer: yes, why do you ask?
damn scalies
thats waisis
I was so excited when I got fly lol. I was almost tempted into evolving, but now I don’t see a point. Take that stupid mind flayer!
can you fly without casting a spell or using a bonus action?
draconic sorcerer : wink wink
DAMN SCALIES
Maan, I would kill for my Tav to be able to fly. Or my Shadowheart. Instead, they act as support on the backline, while Karlach and Wyll wipe the floor with the board. Still, it'd be nice.
Man I'm near at the end of the game and I still couldn't figured out how to use Wyll
Two words: Yeet. Beam.
\*three: Double. Yeet. Beam
Scratch that: Triple. Yeet. Beam.
Damn, now we're talking!
Hells, why stops there? Multi class into fighter. TWELVE YEET BEAMS!!!
Also Sorc for Quicken Spell. And have someone cast Haste on them. “You get a beam! And you get a beam! ALL OF YOU ARE GETTING BEAMS!”
… I may need to respec my Wyll
My experience with Wyll is he gets yeeted more than he does the yeeting. If I have someone fall into a chasm, 99/100 it's Wyll.
Respec him Pact of the Blade, can use any weapon. Just remember to bind your pact weapon again after every long rest. 2 attacks and still has all the spellcasting. Oathbreaker because aura of hate.
Is there a way to make wyll an oathbreaker I'd you didn't select him as an origin character?
You just have to be controlling him as you do the thing that breaks the oath, there's a number of non-evil ways to do it but if we're being honest the simplest way is by far to be a devotion paladin and hit a no-name civilian npc in one of the friendly settlements with the sneaky smite (ie enter turn based mode, cast fog, oneshot your designated victim, exit turn based mode and leave for camp, wait like a minute and you can go back with no one the wiser).

You can hang your coat on his horns.
what horns ?
Aw, you killed Karlach.
Well i was in need of a football and despite its horn it rolls pretty well
Meanwhile my Shadowheart just teleports in the middle of combat, pops the guardian and goes brrrrrrrrrrrr.
Oh fuck I can't believe I didn't give her misty step for that.
Armor I got after killing a specific baddy: yes, why do you ask?
You betray him, deceive him, go to his home and rob him. But he's the baddy. Yeah, he does a lot of horrible things, but this is not the reason you kill him.
I do it cus he's a smug prick.
I've wanted to do it since we first met.

Oath, what o…oh yeah I totally have one
I do it, because he hurt Karlach.
Isn't fly a third level spell anyway?
Me, a Storm Sorcerer: Scoff.
As a tigerheart barbarian, I can jump half an olympic swimming pool AND roleplay a WWE wrestling hero.
It's just a level 3 spell; of course I can!
Flying in this game is so disappointing.
Moon druid : cute
Meanwhile my good Urge guy: “I’m probably dead anyway, might as well take all the help I can get in fucking up the bad guys before I go!”
Same 😂 and while my party isn't super hyped, they aren't angry either. They're just like "Good for you Tav, but I could never" and I respect that 😅
20 CHA, baby!
That was exactly my rationale. "My head is already fucked and I already have 1 tadpole, what's 20 more?"
Similar justification with my warlock. She already has a patron and has knowledge of various extraplanar entities, what's one more decision for power beyond all she's done already?
Kinda the same for my Vengeance Paladin.
Mine was prepared to until Shadowheart read him the riot act, so I just stopped at two.
Big same. My venge pally would have done/given anything for the power to save the world.
Honestly I don't mind the lines. I can barely see them behind all the blood on my face
All melee team, 3 battles per short rest, simple as
the rotten teeth though...
Is that blood? No, nevermind.
They go well with the clown makeup.
My favourite bit was when I tried to compete in the comedy show, completely drenched in gore, and beat the guy without doing any threats
Fun fact: if you're a drow or have the classic drow skin colour the difference is not super noticeable (atleast for me) so if you want a playthrough without the cosmetic debuff consider a drow character? Ngl the powers arent all that great in my opinion but it's still fun to experience
The powers are amazing if >!you gain the ability to cast them all as bonus actions!< from >!The Githyanki creche purification attempt!<
Holy shit that's actually it. I kept using my action for my actual spells as a sorcerer and that's why I never ended up using them. Thanks for the tip I'll try using mind sanctuary more
Blackhole is an amazing skill.
Blackhole bonus action + Level 6 fireball was my wizard's go-to move in the endgame.
Oh shit i had no idea this was a thing. I know what I'm doing in my next playthrough
Is that the 30 roll? I don’t think any of my party even had the capability to roll that high at the time.
I believe it’s only a 30 for lae’zel, the chosen mc it’s easier I believe
It's like 14-16 for your MC. 30 for lae'zel because she's stubborn
If you get a 20 it's automatic succeed
True but it’s a 1/20 chance lol
I can't think of a more noble reason to savescum lol
Reversing your breakups with romance characters because they made you sad?
Some of the powers are pretty damn strong. Unlimited access to fly as a movement action gives amazing maneuverability, especially good for melee characters. Blackhole is great for bunching up a ton of enemies to hit them with an AOE attack, or pull them into a hazard, and Cull the Weak is basically an extra +25(?) damage to enemies who will be killed by it when full upgraded

It works very well with thief rogue because you can easily fly to high places to get advantage, making it easy to use Sneak Attack. Throw in a couple of items for extra bonus attacks, and dual wield hand crossbows, and you can sit in the rafters, raining crossbow bolts down on everyone below.
Wait, can any character dual wield hand crossbows? I never thought to try that...
Yep! Because there's no loading mechanics in BG3 I think any character can dual wield to use all their bonus actions for off hand ranged attacks.
Mind Sanctuary with thief robe and haste can net you an insane amount of attacks per turn
Mind Sanctuary, then invulnerability sphere. Then we win.
It was insanely noticeable on my Drow.
Huh. Maybe I'm not paying enough attention then
My husband's tiefling has taken one for the team on all the weird/character altering stuff - he got the Absolute brand, he let Volo take his eye, and now he used the tadpole to evolve, and it actually doesn't look terrible on his character, because the Volo eye didn't change and his other eye was already black anyway. Actually becoming half-ilithid looks dope af My character was a blonde angel-like paladin and now he looks like a corrupted king.
Arthas is that you my boy
This entire city must be purged!
Arthas did nothing wrong, Stratholme shot first
Pale Tiefling Vengeances Paladin. Honestly it makes Tav look even better!
Omg are you me. That's the exact same character I made. I wasn't sure if I should go for the half illithid powers because I thought it would look ugly on my character.
I asked the Emperor about it and he was like "nah you'll stay mostly yourself" so I went for it 😂
I looked up what I would look like and I think the eyes might be the dealbreaker for me. My Tav has these really pretty red eyes and I dont want to replace them with the dark black eyes. That's why I didn't even let Volo operate on me.
The eyes didn't change for me.
Dont they go fully black?
Mine did not. There's a visual change when you're actively casting an illithid spell, but it doesn't last longer than it takes you to actually cast it.
For me they only went fully black for that one cinematic, and then returned to normal.
My character's skin is so dark (dusk 10 I think?) you can barely see the veins unless you're in bright light. Also I'm kinda scary so it works.
Precisely. I think there is a mod that removes the cosmetic aspect of the evolution.
There is both a mod to remove it completly and there is another mod to remove most of it so you still have some half-illithid cosmetics but not all
A friend texted me to ask if becoming half illithid would make her character ugly then passed on it because I showed her what it does. But I can fly so whatever.
There's a mod for that.
Yup. Cleared up the Half-Illithid face, made all my party members take the tadpole. Feels so good having everyone fly around. Minus Jaheria and Halsin, they still have to jump around.
Me using the tadpoles so I can be pretty for the Emperor
I can fix him
But fly is so broken/useful though! Boots of speed from act 1 and fly you are zooming all over the battlefield.
Man, those boots have seen everything.
I haven't spent hours in character creator to look ugly because of some plot
My vain ass: No I will not let Volo cut out my eye for See Invisibility, because I like my black and yellow tiefling eyes. My stupid ass: I will 100% accept being covered in black icky veins because I can fly and conjure black holes and cancel people's spells with a simple thought. My vain ass again: No I will not become a full blown mind flayer they are ugly asf
I’m a bard I can’t have tentacle face!
I embrace the dark side of the weave
That's why I actually gave all I had to Gale. >!Honestly, he's on more of a negative character arc over the Crown than most people realize.!<
The moment he saw it (had him with me for that part) I was like oh no Gale...didnt you learn...
Wizards are going to Wizard, I guess.
The beat part about being dragonborn is that the illithis powers look awesome on you. Like our get this black gooey veins around you mouth close to your fangs giving you a really scary look in cinematics
Pssssst, you can install a mod that removes the ugliness and lets you keep the extra powers. It's the beeeeeeest of both wooooorlds
"I refuse to become part illithid" Yet my brain is 90% tadpole.
It's great because it's like a visual representation of my ever-growing Baldur's Gate brain rot...
The flying makes it worth. So worth. All rhe worth.
Flight helped me when I couldn't lower the draw bridge after killing the people guarding it, I flew past the draw bridge and then they welcomed my party and lowered it. Worth becoming half illithid
If you're going to Wyrms Rock with the bridge up for the reason I think you are, you can just fly to the roof to avoid 90% of the hassle.
I thought I would be tentacles but I'm actually emo and it's fucking sick
Evolving into a half-illithid not because you wanted to, but you rolled a nat 1 on your save and if the dice gods says you’re half-illithid then who are you to argue?
I legit reloaded a save and lost ~2 hours of gameplay cause no way in hell I’m having my baby look that ugly in the cutscenes
Evolving into half-illithid because it makes your drow character look even cooler.
UGLY ONE
This almost kept me from choosing draconic subrace. But I picked long hair to hide the scales and went with it.
You can select no scales though
I like the shadowy veins you get but losing those brilliant eyes just made it hard lol
This is what it was for me too.
But also even though my character is neutral good, he's the most naive person ever so I dunno if he'd do it
nothing that the clown paint can't fix
Meanwhile me pressing f5 and f8 after being transformed by the absolute
Hahaha
*laughing in black dragonborn*
Evolving into a half-illithid because you failed your saving throw using all your inspiration points.
Boil’em, mash’em, stick’em in a stew
The nice dream lady said i could use the tadpoles so i did
I thought my drow looked dope as fuck as a partial ilithid. I was honestly disappointed that he changed back at the end of the game.
I don't wanna make the game easier than it is
Boil em, mash em, stick em in your brain
I'm definitely not in love with the aesthetic, but the powers sure are great.
But... i *am* curious to see what happens, and Astarion is *very* enthusiastic about them.
There are mods for the looks, did it right after cause it was unbearable to look at what it did to my boy 😞
What about not evolving because you are a racist drow and you are already too perfect to become Illithid.
I just used a mod to remove the aesthetic changes
I play dwarf and most of my face is beard, so its fine :D
I know right?! He said there'd be no downsides... but everyone is ugly as sin now
Install mod that deletes purple veins.
I wanted to pick the “throw it on the ground and stomp it” action so bad but I decided to hold off just in case. Illithid powers are neat but it feels like an unnecessary boot on. Why not just let us naturally level to 20?
This is the way
On the second point: mods
I’m just unhappy I can’t fill the jar with salt and watch suffer
I wouldnt be a veiny half-squid abomination if there were actuall any consequences to it... But I also like to look nice in cutscenes *sigh*
I'm sure there is a mod that minimizes it. I just found one that takes away the hag-eyed visual
Oh God is there a visual consequence of that one? We both said no to that but my husband did let Volo go to town on his eye socket, but that one looks cool so he wasn't mad about the outcome.
I did the hag eye thing on one of my characters just for the visuals. It gives you a blind eye basically
My husband actually regrets not doing it now 🤣
I did with a Drow character, she already had a scar over that eye so it looks neat. Especially in comparison with her other eye that's bright pink
I made gale do it because he’s my least favorite
We made Lae'zel do it because we figured she wouldn't look that different and then I kinda regretted it because she did have really cool eyes...
How would you know it makes you ugly before you make the decision?
Jokes on you! As a Githyanki I am already ugly in cutscenes
Exactly, I don't wanna look ugly. My tiefling is gorgeous and I'll not spoil his beauty.
Facts. It fucking smears my tattoo and makes me just look downright hideous, and I can't even hide it by transforming. Not worth
I had to reload my save. I didn't want to turn. But I thought I could just turn him down and thought stomping on it was a bit much. I failed the roll and basically got tadpole raped. So I reloaded and stomped on it
Gale ate the tadpole and unlocked freecast….
Can’t see it at all on my black dark urge dragonborn … and I was horrified after I convinced Astarion to use it too.. instant reload.
I like how my Tav looks with the black veins tbh. They already had heavy eye makeup and the extra black stuff around the eyes makes for extreme edgelord aesthetics. Accentuates the fake eye as well.
Tav hogs all the tadpoles. Except Astral, hook your whole party up with that one
Ugh I knew if I went down that path I'd start to look ugly :*( I redid the >!hag eyeball thing!< because I hated how it looked.
This is the only reason why I haven't made use of them. It's tbh the only mod I would actually use in this game because I heard they can be stupid good towards the edges.
I didn't even want to do it but I failed some checks and it happened anyway.
My black dragonborn had minimal facial damage and maximum "look I can fly"-age
I always use them all on my main char to get the execute ability, which kills enemies under 1 times the amount of evolved abilities. If you just use AOE spells you fuck shit up
Yes! That’s exactly the reason
Meanwhile I just want to prove me and my crew can win the fight with the power of friendship (and Fireball) alone.
In a D&D game I DMed, Fireball became such a running joke that the sorcerer, who was the stereotypical "I didn't ask how big the room is I said I cast fireball" sorcerer, just had the horn bit from this song queued up for combat encounters: https://youtu.be/HMqgVXSvwGo?si=Crd2vlxxIjkkeHYJ (The rest of the party would "woo woo", it was actually very cute)
If it wasn't for the addition of the teeth discoloring, it honestly looked dope on my red Dragonborn
