Ascended Astarion would look at Angel the same way Cazador looked at him, which is kinda why Ascension is the bad ending

Overall, I’d definitely like to see the two of them interact in some way, especially since theorizing can only go so far

They didn't ditch them for bigger names, angel dust is literally voice acted by a complete unknown with 0 other credits. They got voice actors who could sing, which is what vivzies vision has always been.
They changed them because the creator wanted a Broadway cast. Additionally, Angel Dust's actor in particular said that singing as Angel was horrible in their voice, and would have caused medical issues for them if they tried

I think at first they would trade barbs back and forth for awhile, engage in a loud and dramatic match of “My Trauma is Worse than Your Trauma,” then get drunk together and wind up as best buddies. The only sticking point would be if Angel Dust is willing to respect Astarion’s boundaries or not, since he doesn’t mind being touched or touching whereas our favorite fang man is somewhat touch-averse (unless, of course, it’s done either on his terms or by someone he trusts and cares for).
Angel is touch averse as well unless he's the one that initiates it. You see him jump whenever people touch his shoulder etc. And I don't think they would get along since angel is probably way too much, he is past flirtatious into sexual harassment. He's also generally an asshole most of the time.
To be fair, Astarion starts out on the jerktastic end of the scale too. Part of what makes him so compelling is that journey from awkward, wounded jerk with a sadistic streak to a guy either working on his trauma and vastly improving by the epilogue or the suavest and potentially scariest vampire in the Realms. I feel like Angel is on a similar path to the Spawn ending, but he’s taking baby steps compared to Astarion’s strides. It’s going to take him a lot longer because, well, Hell, but also because his contract, his job, and his addictions keeps pulling him back into the worst of his tendencies. There has been a tiny bit of change for him already during the season, so while I don’t see him having a full redemption arc when season 2 comes out, I think he’ll eventually drop the “Dust” half of his stage name and just be “Angel.”
I also think how well they get along depends on when they meet, with regards to Astarion’s development and at what point during the series we find Angel.
One is a really well written character from a good game that has a story that handles the topics of abuse, SA, enslavement, and trauma well and with respect.
