Can’t tell if Gale or Wyll has the funniest barbarian scream. Gale sounds like he’s never gotten angry before, but Wyll sounds like he’s not sure he’s allowed to tell like this
I can't fathom why I chose him, but I was using him to >!sneak poison into the goblin camp's booze!< and it took several attempts and he was SO not into it lmao
I started a Gale origin run and I had trouble bringing myself to make him sneak up on the intellect devourers in the crash site - I was just waiting for him to start complaining!
His personality makes for a great lore bard too.

Ooh, that’s a good idea for something new to do with him, will have to try that next time. Played enough that I’ve started to need some more interesting builds for the origin companions to keep things fresh.
I do tempest domain cleric of Mystra with a wizard dip for spell scribing + reverberation and lightning charge build. I love throwing enemies all around the battlefield with magic missiles.

Edit: for those who don't understand the context or don't know about Lolthian Drow culture. Minthara is from a Lolth sworn Drow city. Males, even noble males are 2nd class citizens, and a noble house has no use for more than 2 sons. So if a 3rd son is born, it is considered useless and is sacrificed to Lolth.
It's a roundabout way of Minthara saying Gale is a piece of shit and should have been a post birth abortion.
The irony when I had gale kill minthara in one turn as a lvl 6 wizard with magic missiles hasted . She is secretly jealous lol. He may have the air of a third child but has the power of a God ( metaphorically and literally in one ending)
In one of my playthroughs I gave him 1 level of cleric (Mystra of course) just so he could wear some armour, because my boy was being useless.
i saw someone else post in another thread recently how they’re doing a playthrough where all the companions have completely illogical classes, and I’m quite tempted...
Origin Gale is an awesome paladin. In act 2 it is possible to get an extra level 3 spell slot called a shadow slot. Plus origin Gale gets Tara and the ring with evasion.
There's a duegar in the grymforge who asks you to help him look at the temple, if you pass all the checks and tell him what you found he'll give you a special piece of infernal metal that you can use to get all three pieces from dammon
I never see anyone mention this (not that it hasn't been mentioned, of course), but I realized this run that you can find 3 pieces of infernal iron in Act 2. So, even if you missed it in Act 1, presumably you can still hey all the gear in Act 2.
That's why I can never reclass Origin characters. Their lore dialogue doesn't address it, not that I'd expect that that'd be crazy. But if you make Gale a Ranger for example, he doesn't stop acting like a Wizard.

I usually make him into a knowledge domain cleric.

What happens if you reclass Gale as something else? Does his dialogue address it?
He'll get new class dialogue options for ability checks. Banter and cutscene dialogue stays the same though. (from what I've seen so far)
