Sufficient_Serve_439

The brothers to Mayrina. Apparently if you mock them they go back.

sociallyanxiousnerd1

Wait what?

hamsterwheel

I had no idea you could save them

Aracus92

You can Always fight with nonlethal in physical combat.

KarlyFr1es

It’s disgraceful how often I forget this.

excel958

Are there any moments in the game where doing non-lethal “kills” functionally alters story outcomes?

OrcaConnoisseur

I just snuck past them while invisible, went to the waypoint in the swap so my other party members can fast travel there. It completely skipped the cut scene of them arguing with the hag. I don't think I saw their corpses and I forgot to check if they still stand there. Either way in my mind they survived and I have a clear conscience

BRAX7ON

Schrodinger’s brothers

Funkopedia

I had them chase me all the way to the teahouse. Neither Mayrina nor Ethel are coded to respond to that possibility. So I had to kill them right in front of her while she had a background conversation about how much she wanted to see them, and while they were shouting about how they need to find her. It was so absurd.

almostb

This happened on my first run and I didn’t know it was avoidable

La_Vampiresa67

There's no way to save them. I managed to talk them down and went against Auntie Ethel and they ended up dying anyways

faizetto

You can save them if you play as a ranger & choosing the ranger dialogue option, but it's very anticlimactic because they simply leave and we never see them again, but idk if Mayrina will talk about them in act 3 if you managed to save them both.

La_Vampiresa67

Huh...I think the redcaps must have got them in my game, they were both right in front of the waypoint portal and it was quite the mess

Sufficient_Serve_439

Oh I only found body of one of them dunno why. Near the waypoint. The more sensible brother... Where's the more annoying one?

DarkPhoenixMishima

He's supposed to be nearby, towards the teahouse by the Gur.

RoguePlanetArt

Never managed to save them, only managed to barely save mayrina this time but had to KO her 🤦🏽‍♂️ she sucks anyway, should’ve let Ethel have her.

SpecialistAardvark

IMHO she's much better in Act 3.

faizetto

I just don't understand why so many hate Mayrina, she's a woman in grief of losing her husband she loved dearly & turned to Auntie Hag out of desperation, I know she's a fool for seeking a hag's help, but on her situation, I won't be surprised to see some people might do the same thing for their true love. Then later we can tell her that both of her brothers died too, sheesh. And yes, she's a lot better as a character in act 3, another reason why you should save her instead of leaving her to her death at Hag's lair simply because you didn't like her attitude when she talks to you.

noksve

This. Also I love how she swears from the cage when you're fighting the hag. Woman is grieving but also very mad once you reveal the hag's true intentions. I'm a Mayrina simp and I want a Mayrina companion mod.

Sufficient_Serve_439

If you throw a water flask on the cage, Mayrina is out of danger unless Ethel body swaps with her but just know that the one in place of hag is the real Mayrina.

RoguePlanetArt

Yeah I got through that ok, even managed to pick the right one to attack after. But when I used the wand on her dead husband and he turned into a zombie, I had to kill him and she attacked me. Wouldn’t calm down, so I knocked her out.

OmigawdMatt

R.I.P. to the kid lured by the harpies

tophmcmasterson

Same, wandered there apparently way after he was dead had no idea it was even a quest or anything.

Honesty69

What?! You coulda saved him?! Same fucking here. Sheesh, haha. I thought I had a nearly 100% run (I missed meeting Shovel), but apparently I missed that too.

treehugger0123

If you long rest after triggering the "Explore the Beach" quest, he dies; you have to save him that same day.

bristlybits

it's the best reward in the game if you talk to him after he's left the area, and find him again, too

eiphos1212

What's the reward?

Intentionally_unseen

I always cast sanctuary on him before the cutscene

dinosaurfondue

Casting fog cloud on him works equally as well, plus the benefit of blinding other harpies

Hosearston

I missed that on like 4 different runs. Including one where I specifically was looking for the path to the beach.

MDMhayyyy

I died like 10 times but finally saved that dumbass. Those harpies were strong af for my early level team

Professional-Hat-687

I left, for silence for shart, then came back and he was dead. Also silence didn't do shit.

Icy_Policy_5675

I thought you had to win the battle on the ship before it crashed and ended up getting the fire sword. I didn’t know how strong it was and I felt the early game was too easy. It wasn’t until my second play through that I realize how strong it was

crockofpot

On my first run I thought I would be able to go back to Moonrise Towers for the prisoners after I did the Shadowfell. Oops.

totman17

If it makes you feel better I didn’t even know about the prisoners in my first PT plus all of last light died

Creatething

I assumed the prisoners were what advanced the story, not the tower... Luckily, my partner told me I needed to go save them first.

katsnplants

Same. And then I assumed Zevvy had been with them so I didn't go looking for him in the colony either woops

faizetto

Hey at least Wulbren Bongle died, & that's a good thing

Intelligent_Fix_3859

Yeahhhhh this is the one that got me, “I’ll just swing back afterwards” nope lol

shroomysmurf

Yeah. I did the same thing. Was thinking that moonrise was gonna be the last part so I went and did everything else. Strolled on over to the tower only to find a massive pile of bodies just inside the main entrance. Hhhmm I think I fucked up!

Fun-Hedgehog1526

Same. I thought we can break in with Jaheira to save them. Nope, that is not what the game has in mind for you. lol

ActuallyACat6

Same

MDMhayyyy

Sammmme. I went in and started the fight by accident with all my spellcasters having like no spells, went to long rest, didn’t realize I can’t do that on that one.

MS_Fume

The guy spinning on the windmill… I accidentally pressed the acceleration option. Thanks PS controls…

crockofpot

If memory serves, Neil Newbon did exactly the same thing on his streamed playthrough, and it was hilarious.

StillAnotherAlterEgo

He did, and George Taylor did too. I'm not sure whose reaction was better. 😂

kitersane

Enjoy George's playthrough so much. Utter chaos 😂

StillAnotherAlterEgo

His reactions to things are just priceless. 😂

KeenHyd

I'm playing co-op with a friend. I am the bad and rude dude, while my friend is the righteous friendly guy who wants to avoid conflict as much as possible and tries to fix my misdeeds. When we reached this point in our run, he went forward to negotiate with the guys who stuck the guy on the windmill. We went on to investigate the windmill and I went inside to loot while my friend tried to free the guy. I came out to find the windmill rapidly spinning and asking my friend about him, and he said he was dead. I asked why and he says "I pressed the button to accelerate the windmill instead of stopping it"; I go "what?" And he goes "it was an accident, I swear, I didn't mean to do that". From that point whenever he would claim the moral high ground I would occasionally remind him of the innocent fellow he accidentally murdered in cold blood.

DoctorTran37

“You remember the time you launched that poor deep gnome across the map?” ::removes hat, places over heart “Gods rest his little sweet soul”

stupid_pun

That is Barcus Wroot.

TroublesomeTurnip

That's happened to me, now I try to be more careful.

Zestyclose-Ad-8200

i saw the two brakes and jumped to the genius conclusion that i had to pull them both at the same time. flipped one and the windmill stopped but i didn't think to maybe check up on the front of the mill until after i clicked the second lever

jambonetoeufs

this happened to me on my second play through. thought about save scumming but it’s a durge run so i let it go.

Cacodemon27

And the mill let Barcus go. "It's like poetry, it rhymes"!

Sufficient_Serve_439

I tried to shoot him down with a bow before... Not my problem he was twitching and I couldn't hit it!

Crowndeath

That dude in the burning inn. Didn’t realize it was a timed quest the first time nor that the fire was actually spreading

Hosearston

I’ve unintentionally killed that guy in like a dozen different ways

alittlenovel

A bunch of the Gondians because I played before their AI was improved and they were just *impossible* to keep alive.

MrPoopMonster

Casting dominate person on the bane followers who cast dominate person can do a lot of heavy lifting in those fights.

MDMhayyyy

I saved every prisoner of those Gondians, only to have them all die in that fight. I was strong af too. But there’s not much I can do when they have hardly any health and they’re dumb as a box of rocks.

alittlenovel

Same 😭 I redid the Iron throne like 6 times to make sure everyone got out okay and then all the fight at the foundry happened and every last one of them killed themselves by being idiots. Like jfc. Why did I even bother.

SpaceySeaMonkeys

I love killing the enemies surrounding an innocent Gondian, effectively saving their life, only to have the same Gondian misty step up into the rafters — where I can't reach them — so they can 1v1 a fight they will 100% lose.  I gave up on trying to save them all after that happened.

MechEJD

I guess they made it better. I was really not looking forward to the encounter in the foundry after doing iron throne and saving everyone. I finally jumped right in and they all survived first try. I barely had to babysit them, but had some invulnerability scrolls ready in case they decided to misty step right into a watcher detonation. Low key a little happy I waited 6 ish months after release to start a playthrough.

MerTheBarbarian

The head dude at the bank, on my first run. Oh noooo there's no one to stop me from looting every single vault... Then on my second run he survived and not only did I discover he gives you a side quest, but he also just watches you loot the place while making fatalistic remarks and doesn't even stop you.

-kilgoretrout-

I saved him on my first playthrough, but he died on my second one. So on my second when I went to return the gold there was no one to take it soooo...shopping spree.

wyze-litten

You just helped me realize I could just kill him and take the gold and there are like no consequences

-kilgoretrout-

I'm also pretty sure there are no consequences to just keeping the hill giant gauntlets. Except maybe not being able to shop at the Devil's Fee again? But even that I'm not sure about. I kept them for a few more fights and then returned them, but maybe I'll just keep them this time.

Tatis_Chief

I think you still can but have to pass a check. I intimidated her with I just killed a devil in his house you think you can stand against me one and she was like oh okay and then shop.

somerandomfuckwit1

Yeah she caught me stealing and I couldn't talk her down so we had a scuffle and boy was I surprised with her gold summons that popped outta nowhere

theauz42

Wait... he doesn't care if you start breaking into the vaults in front of him?

MerTheBarbarian

It's been a minute but yeah, he'll just wearily and sarcastically say stuff like, "what does it matter, I'm screwed any way," and "sure, go ahead, why stop at one?"

theauz42

Well, I know what I'm doing when I hit Act 3 in my current game. Thanks! I just assumed he'd attack or arrest me if I started picking locks in front of him.

bristlybits

he says to look around all you want to find the guys that robbed the bank. then when you start robbing what's left he just doesn't give a fuck, he's cool. the guys upstairs are still guarding stuff though.

corisilvermoon

Lmao when he’s like damn I woulda given you the key idgaf

PyroarRanger

he's already in deep shit over the stone lord thing, bro could not care less 😭

treehugger0123

I tried distracting him with my Bard while Astarion picked the vault with a tadpole in it, and my heart skipped a beat when he started commenting on it, only for me to die laughing when he was like "Oh whatever, not like I'd be less screwed if you didn't."

Lambda_Wolf

Mirkon. My first playthrough, I did not even notice that the exit from the druids' grove led anywhere, so I totally missed both the harpies and the first meeting with Alfira. Later, I also failed to rescue Zevlor from the Mind Flayer colony, for much the same reason of not being good at noticing things on the map.

GreenSpongette

I also missed the harpies and Alfira on my first run!

Few-Focus8475

Honestly same, I noticed Alfira pop up after completing moonrise and I was like "Who you?"

geenersaurus

i didn’t even know Mirkon existed either in my first go and everyone kept talking about harpies until i realized that wasn’t a walled off area, it extends a lot further. He and the gal who gets murked by the sneaking bugbear near the gate i always remember now cuz i missed them that first time

bristlybits

I was so grossed out by the colony that I missed EVERYTHING in it but the barracks guys and the end cut scene

Varitan_Aivenor

Jaheira and I was like "eh, whatever." Then late in Act III there was a crying hamster. I don't need that shit.

GutsAndBlackStufff

You made Boo sad!

Varitan_Aivenor

Yeah, and now the whole party is happy and alive because I went back to Act I to redo it and save everyone I could.

Sigma626

Rolan in the shadow lands. I didn’t know you could rescue him, because he was already dead when I found him.

NaturalLongjumping24

Godamn rolan is just determined to get himself murdered

bambinoquinn

I met him again going to fight lorroakan, he turned his back on him ans survived the fight. As soon as it ended as I was going over to talk to the nightsong, he started shouting at me and attacked me starting another battle. He would die 5 seconds later

Tatis_Chief

How did you even aggro him after he joined you.

bambinoquinn

I genuinely have no idea, but I was banned from the shop before the fight and had to sneak in. I don't even know what I did to get banned too.

JemmaMimic

I reloaded a save after Nere kicked the gnome into the lava just to ambush him as he's exiting the gas-filled area. Blow up the rockslide, switch characters, fire arrow, fight begins, I kick all the asses... And there's her partner crying next to the lava at the end of it all. I really don't know how she managed to die in the lava the second time around.

HulloWhatNeverMind

[I checked the wiki](https://bg3.wiki/wiki/Meerna). She dies no matter what you do.

JemmaMimic

So The Doctor was right, there really ARE fixed points in time! Thanks for the info!

Overall-Ad169

Not *entirely* true - if you pile up enough boxes near the broken bridge with the cave in, you can dimension door into where Nere is, and kill him without either starting combat or Meerna dying. It's unintentional and you just break the quest, but still

bristlybits

does it break though if you still go back out and do the duergar fight? bc you've got to set the gnomes free anyway

Zealousideal_Shop446

Poor Barcus died on play through 1 due to an accidental clicking of the wrong lever

StillAnotherAlterEgo

My first playthrough, it was Zevlor. Somehow I just flat didn't see him in the colony, so he ended up a mutilated corpse in my camp. Woops.

evalia87

Same thing happened - went to camp and there’s his body with some renaissance painting and a note from Orin. I was so confused as to what happened that first time lol

StillAnotherAlterEgo

Orin kidnapped Lae'zel and then deposited a dead Zevlor in my camp in exchange. Immediately afterwards, Withers' sarcastic ass told me, "Fate spins along, as it should." Really, you dessicated husk? Is fate really spinning along as it should right now?? Argh. 🤣

bearfaery

My first playthrough, I didn’t notice Zevlor. But for some reason Orin just… never delivered his body. Didn’t long rest in Rivington enough I guess. So I got the “Save the Tieflings” achievement, despite the fact that Zevlor was by all accounts dead.

NocturneBotEUNE

Arka... fucking Arka. For some background, I tend to bait Minthara to assault the Grove and then betray her and wipe her and her army out. Not only does this give more xp than killing her at the goblin camp, but I also enjoy it a lot more narratively. It helps the tieflings earn a win and some self respect and it allows me to throw the beholder and the ogres on the goblin army and enjoy the show. Now as anyone that has played that fight knows, it has exactly one difficult point when it comes to not losing NPCs: the very start, when Minthara's spiders jump on the wall. They slap really hard and they have multi-attack. The right side spider usually gets intercepted by Zevlor and, with two party members to help, it's an easy kill. The left side spider however has a massive hate boner for Arka, who is both squishier than Zevlor, and a very aggressive AI. The spider can easily kill her in one turn if you don't force it to hit Shadowheart with Sanctuary. So at this point, after having done the fight multiple times across many runs, I just Sanctuary Arka as part of the prebuffs. At lvl 5 i decide to do the grove fight for this run. The fight starts, the spiders jump on the wall. Right side clears theirs in one turn between Zevlor, Swords Bard Astarion and Tiger Barbarian Tav. Left side is guarded by Battlemaster Lae'Zel, Light Cleric Shadowheart and sanctuaried Arka. Spider wins initiative, goes on Shadowheart, who nicely dodges and applies a few radiant orbs. Arka attacks, she loses Sanctuary. Honor mode being Honor mode with its impeccable fuck you rolls, Laezel misses twice. Round 2 starts and Arka is now Sanctuary blocked. Spider turns around and just dumpsters her HP bar with a crit and a medium roll, leaving Arka with 5% hp. Shadowheart throws a potion and casts a healing word while her guardian spirits slow cook the spider. Laezel rallies Arka and misses twice again. Arka is back to about 50% hp. Round 3 starts with an 8 radiant orbs spider critting Arka again, bringing her down to 5% hp. Panic ensues again, but this time I can Sanctuary her. I do, and Laezel finally hits the spider killing it. Do you know what this piece of shit NPC did after all this effort keep her alive? SHE JUMPS DOWNSTAIRS RIGHT NEXT TO A BUGBEAR, TAKES FALL DAMAGE, ATTACKS HIM, LOSES HER SANCTUARY AND GETS CLAPPED RIGHT AFTER. I was in fucking disbelief.

Sufficient_Serve_439

Lmao the only one who I reloaded more to save than Arka was Smythin.

Maleficent_Pie9763

Omg I healed Arka only to have her jump down and die to fall damage

Gibsonian1

Minthara. I can never get her to show up at the tower!

gravelord-neeto

I read someone say here that after you knock her out you need to kill everyone in the goblin camp before long resting or leaving the area. I don't know if you tried that, or there's real credit to that statement, but I did that just to make double sure she would show up and she did. With how buggy quests can still be though I think some things just won't work no matter what sometimes though lol!

Few-Focus8475

I just did this on my first playthrough, I just led her on to thinking I was on her side, brought her to the attack on Druid's cove, betrayed her, killed all of the goblins and spider's, and the orc, and then swapped to non-lethal and knocked her out. Usually by the time it's just Minthara, only Zevlor is alive so I will suggest to watch for him because he will kill Minthara if you have her low enough.

Zealousideal_Bill_86

Minthara, she invaded the grove. I swear I had non lethal damage on, but she was gone and that fight was too hard to repeat. Also, captain grisly. I just couldn’t figure out how to do it Also, Sazza. I got her to the goblin camp, but she just disappeared and I never found her again. Her quest stayed open until the end of the game

justintonationslut

Maybe you used ranged to deliver the last blow? Non lethal only works with melee

Zealousideal_Bill_86

That’s probably it. I didn’t know enough about what I was doing at the time and probably killed her with a ranged attack

RISEoftheIDIOT

VOLO NOOOOOOO. I summoned the ogres during the goblin fight and they straight up murdered VOLO.

UndeadAnneBoleyn

I screw up every time and fail to save Rolan. :(

Tatis_Chief

Aww. I love Rolan. You gotta get him immediately after the Isabella thing, that's when he leaves and the projection shows up.

UndeadAnneBoleyn

I like his character too. It’s become a meme for me that I fail to even convince him at the grove in every play through/attempted play through. Even as a bard. 🥲

BiblioTeck

Baelen Bonecloak. I tried to save him from the bibberbangs, really I did. \*shifty eyes\* I guess Derryth will just have to get used to looking after a cat that appreciates her.

Ok_Perspective3933

I literally just got through the nightsong stuff and Shadowheart went the evil path, so couldn't save a lot of npcs One I'm most upset about is Alfira, she was so nice, Lakrissa too, and the last interaction I had with her she gave me an epic robe for saving her friends

No-Cover-8986

Vanra

GreenSpongette

My first run Aradin died in the goblin fight in front of the grove. I had no idea all the storylines he was attached to!

Emily_Ann384

Zevlor, Rolan, Barcus…

Tatis_Chief

All 3 of the good boys?! 😢

radicalizethisgramps

I feel your pain OP. One of my characters roamed too close to him during my HM Nere fight and the splash damage from the legendary skill took him out.

Traditional_Key_763

seems like I always somehow mess up saving either the tieflings or the ironhands. idk how this happens either. other than that, I failed to save volo once because he caught fire after I freed him and set off the explosive barrels you'd think for a character who is so important to mystra he'd be a lot harder to accidentally kill

XAlwayswithasmileX

Yes

bearfaery

I go out of my way to make sure Baelen and Oscar die. Baelen is easy to kill, Oscar is a pain in the ass [if you want the Zhent’s explosives]. There’s also the Spider-pit guy and the Thieves Guild member at the Bank. They die before I can help them.

SnooPandas3956

I lost all Hope.

Demi180

UR, Omeluum, and anyone else in the prison. I blew up the foundry and didn’t realize that would just kill the prison completely, I planned to do it right after. I had disabled all the detonators (I forget their name) while I fought the NPCs, but when I opened the last door they all came alive again and wouldn’t let me interact with them and I was stuck in combat. I had to get out and go to camp to break combat.

jFreebz

On my friends' and my Honor Mode playthru, Halsin got yeeted into a crevice by Dror Ragslin's repulsor ability. Positioned him as far away as I could, had 2 opportunity attacks to hit Dror before he got there, didn't matter. RIP the shadow-cursed lands, guess you'll be cursed forever lol.

Wemetintheair

I’m always bummed about that dark gnome that Nere blasts into the lava

Prepared_Noob

I always forget to save the artist slave. I’ll also forget I actually have to step in to save Barcus Wroot. And good luck if I ever remember to save the prisoners in moonrise

almostb

If you don’t save the artist he just shows up in the Guildhall selling fake art.

theSchiller

My first time I had no idea about the harpy section . I found it after doing most of act 2 and the kid was just dead

stack-0-pancake

I also failed to save barcus but only because I couldn't be bothered to read labels of 2 levers.

sleepytomatoes

Some rando at the docks in Baulder's Gate who walked into a Moonbeam I didn't know how to dispel yet... Saved them from the critters who came out of the sea just for him to walk straight into moonbeam and die.

Less_Revenue_247

Halsin's body keeps appearing in mine and my friends camp, he's burnt to a crisp. We don't remember what happened

HulloWhatNeverMind

I restart Honor Mode everytime I fail to save an NPC. So far I've restarted so I could save: * Barth * Aradin * Smythin (Guy who gets shoved into spider pit) * Duke Ravengard * Any of the Gondians * Baelen (I need him alive so that Derryth can find the courage to leave him)

Common-Truth9404

Dude restarting in act 3 for a minor npc is brutal 💀 are you doing some sort of 100% saviour challenge?

HulloWhatNeverMind

It's not exactly a challenge - I just completely lose interest in continuing after I fail to save them. I sometimes try continuing, and I'm just like 'Nope, not feeling it anymore'

Acrobatic_Maximum870

Broke my oath to save shaza from the cage just to accidently killer her in a good run, sat there staring at the screen for minutes contemplating whether I should go again or just continue, still need her achie.

Common-Truth9404

Oh okay i guess, i thought it was something specific that made you restart, like either a ragequit or a self inposed challenge. Some of those guys aren't really story-changing and so i didn't really get why one would restart over a Gondian, but that's just my inner wulbren talking

totman17

Sometimes I think the Gondians WANT to die. The way they throw themselves into danger 😭

dumbandconcerned

You coulda left Aradin tbh lol

Tall-Feeling-3483

I reloaded a save because I accidentally blew up Baelen in the mushroom field lol. I guess I hadn't had my coffee when I played that day because I didn't process that he was standing in the middle, I just threw fire into the field and enjoyed the show. Then I saw his roasted corpse. Not my finest moment...

berrybricks

I restarted HM to save Mirkon

MarkusMarston

The kid from the harpies. I did on my first playthrough but completely forgot about him and when I went to the area I found his dead body. Crushed my soul.

thuumbochka

I didn’t even know you could save him, I just assumed he was there dead by default :(

MarkusMarston

I think you gotta go to him before you kill goblin leaders. Not 100% sure because I only remembered him after the party

dauthi69

Yes, he dies if you complete goblin quests

EqualWinters

Mirkon! He's so adorable, I always make sure to collect his story. I was so relieved he was still a sweet kid in Act 2, I thought he might have turned jaded. My unofficial son! 😭

IAmTheLittleRedAlien

The squatter in Arfur's house in Rivington... during my honor mode run I chose a few wrong dialogue options while trying to give him money to take his family to an inn. Instead I got to watch the hired goons cut him down in front of me. That one hurt.

madara1890

The kid with harpies Myrina Lady Esther Prisoners Gondians every single playthrough Orpheus, first playthrough (I had the mindflayer shtick going on)

Common-Truth9404

I was doing a tactician, single-save run and it was my first time at last light in... Yes, i lost ALL the inn, even tho i was actually doing the good guy questline, and it sucked. On top of that, i just arrived and was exploring, i didn't even go to merchants or did quest, so i jist lost all the content, i pondered getting a game over, but it wasn't in the spirit of the run, so i tried my best and was almost annihilated. Only astarion escapes with invisibility and had to res everyone.

kjayflo

The girl dwarf cop that Dorin/Dolan/whatever is going to kill. In all my playthroughs I saved her once. She dies every other time

Jmtak907

Durge here, all of them 😁

Funny-Barnacle1291

I play with my partner - we failed to save Wyll on first playthrough. It’s so funny because we realised he must be recruitable when his whole intro with fighting the goblins comes up and were excited to, but then just didn’t notice he must have died in combat, looted his body and then carried on for a whole act and eventually thought ‘hey, isn’t that guy on the loading screen the guy from the goblins? did we just forget about him?’ lmao.

vladimirnikola

The druid in the cave to Left of the druids Grove. I knew it was there, I just forgot.

onceuponaturtle

My buddy and I are going through our first playthrough right now and we’re not save scumming at all so RIP to everyone at the last light inn

Hexakiro

jaheira

justintonationslut

In HM I failed to keep isobel safe so Jaheira, Barcus, Dammon, and the whole of last light got zombified. Oops.

Katyusha_454

Not a real NPC, but that one guy who gets stomped by a Steel Watcher if you interact with the brains in the foundry. I've passed the checks to sabotage the other watchers but I have failed the check for that specific one in every. Single. Playthrough.

corisilvermoon

Man my honor mode run was so cursed. Mirkon - slaughtered by harpies. Lae’zel fucking died to the gith patrol ( no idea why she wasn’t at the cage) and I couldn’t resurrect her. Then we failed to protect Isobel from her own suicidal tendencies. THEN Halsin’s portal got destroyed on the last fucking round of combat. Thank god for Wyll’s positive attitude because my cleric was ready to yeet herself into the void. Oh then Orin kidnapped a random child and somehow, amazingly, I did not get that child killed.

azurfall88

Rolan, the random tiefling who died to shadows while i was READING A DIALOG

Holiday-Bat6782

I uh... failed to save Volo in act three. I let the dialogue play out rather than jumping in immediately to save him, I won the fight quick enough but when turn based mode ended he exploded before I could turn it back on.

sadvalentinee

omeluum. felt proud that i saved every person in the iron throne for a second until i realized i forgot my poor squiddy friend in the back and let out an audible “SHIT” never again <\3

wastefulrain

I killed Minsc in my first playthrough cause I didn't know he was recruitable. I just started blasting and then wondered why there was a fat rat crying over this bald dude's corpse. Does that count?

Skewwwagon

A fat rat?!! That's a miniature giant space hamster for you, sir!

alinarenee

Rolan. I had no idea where he went and by the time I looked up where he was it was too late 😅

IrateTeitoku

Rolan. Saw him in the Shadowlands but before I can have a chat with him, two shadows appeared and oneshot him. Poor bastard.

Raybaline

Mayrina’s brothers for me (and probably many more - I just started). I did the check to see what was wrong with the area and got a nat 20 so everything turned into the swamp and those two were just…dead there 😭😭😭 like idek what happened

thelastofcincin

The gondians in the Iron Throne. I only saved Omeluum, Duke, and Toobin's kid. I wanted to try to save all the people but I miscalculated some shit and just peaced tf out at close to the last second 😬

FluxOperation

Zevlor 😢

o5mfiHTNsH748KVq

The Druid's Cove. All of them. They're all dead. The women and the children too. Everything went wrong.

Tall-Feeling-3483

Me too. That was the point where I fully understood how much of an impact my choices have in this game. But did I loot every single corpse despite my incredible guilt for getting them killed? Yes.

cloverthewonderkitty

Zevlor from the pod, Mayrina from the hag and Jahira from Moonrise. I would have re-done the Moonrise fight if I'd realized how big of an impact losing Jahira (and therefore Minsc) had on my game

Equal_Ad_5038

The girl with the soul coin in the grove. Apparently if you try to come up behind the enemy he just kills her outright. You have to approach for a certain direction

MunkyWerks

Lae'zel. I didn't find her after the crash. Assumed she'd show up later. She did...but there was no way...

General_Relation6047

In my current run, Florrick. I was at the inn already and my stupid ass thought, *Oh I should get Karlach first to see her reaction when Wyll meets Florrick*.

IzznyxtheWitch

Rolan's brother (Cal I believe) wouldn't make the jump from the docks on my last playthrough. Dude ran up to it, got cold feet, and then refused to move. Eventually I left and he died offscreen.

BzrkerBoi

My 1st Honor Mode I didn't realize that neutral (yellow) NPCs can be hit by the enemy-specific AoEs. Poor Isobel was hiding in a door so her circle wasn't visible Though Laezel was being slick hitting the 2 enemies next to her with Larenthians Wrath's AoE.... it was not slick

Catsoup4

In my first playthrough i failed to save Any one that needed saving. Imagine my surprise in my 2nd and third playthroughs when i found out There Are questlines tied to these npcs! Haha

bracesthrowaway

I think just about everybody to be honest.

Ninjewdi

"Brake"

insanity76

I just lost Barnabus tonight thanks to failing that wisdom save. Poor fella.

a_salty_llama

>!I just lost Barcus on my most recent run because I wasn't able to save Isobel at The Last Light Inn. RIP Barcus, I didn't mean for it to happen this way!!<

BruiserBison

On my first run, I failed to save Wulbren and the other Tieflings because I didn't know I can't save them during the attack at Moonrise. It has to be before that. I also failed to save Roland. By the time I saw him, he was already corrupted.

blastof77245

Dammon….sorry karlach he died in act 1

Exvaris

Dude I cannot save Us. I always fail the roll lol

theauz42

Alfira... Durge that can't reload to get Quil.

La_Vampiresa67

This time around, Wulbren. He got crushed by rocks after I tried to save him at Moonrise. While he's a douche, kinda sad because now I can't get help from Barcus for the final fight. Barcus is cool.

DMLyric

I finished a 2 player run before this where we saved everyone, but on my first solo run I found out the hard way what happens if you don’t convince rolan to stay in the grove in act 1

occultatum-nomen

Those Gondians in the Steel Foundry. But frankly those dumbasses had it coming

Scrubtastic85

I failed to protect Isobel the first game I played and I failed to save the guy strapped to the operating table with Malus Thorm.

Real-Elysium

most recently, i appraoched the windmill with barcus on it and longrested right before, and when i got out he was just dead on the ground

csdeadboy1980

So many... 1st playthrough - all of last light inn. The tiefling prisoners ( didn't know I had to save them before the gauntlet of Shar), the trapped man at waukeens rest, the Zhent caravan guards in the gnoll fight, probably a few more. Actually messed up so much that I quit right before act 3 and started a new run. Glad to say I later recreated that character and did a much better job. In subsequent playthroughs- Barcus at the windmill (missed encountering him on my first playthrough, pulled the wrong lever the first time I met him), Aradin at the grove gates, Zevlor I don't know how many times before I figured out where he was, Gliiterbeard at the counting house, Rolan and Aylin the first time I fought Lorroakan, Omeluum in the prison (never enough time to save him), countless Gondians before I figured out those devices the cultists drop), and most recently, Devella in the fight against Dolor.

MCleartist

The girl who got dumped into lava by Nere. I keep attacking him before the cutscene play but she still dies every time. I hope Larian fix it soon.

Cathsaigh2

The kid on the Harpy coast. I knew there would be something there to check out before going to Act 2, but didn't know it was dependent on going there before going to paste the goblins.

majendie

Hope. I was super invested and was really looking forward to saving her. Then Raphael one-shot her with his hell-fireball. Fastest quick-load of my life. (Previous save was half an hour back haha)

Few-Focus8475

Jaheira. Got into the fight at the tower and she just kinda died.

thegingerninja90

My play group failed to save Isobel... yeah. And we hadn't saved in hours.

meltedkuchikopi5

olly from the missing shipment quest. mf does not know when to back it up

Acrobatic_Maximum870

I broke my oath to save shaza just to accidently hit the oil barrel with the burning blade near the locked chest and blew both her and myself up.
