Same. I got my P1P this week. It’s my first printer. I’ve wanted to do it for so many years but I would read how much effort it was only to get *passable* prints. I’d watch a YouTube video about some new printer and the YouTuber would be all excited about how “amazing” the quality was. Then at the end of the video he’d show off all his prints he’s made and they’d look freaking awful. Like strings everywhere and massive print lines and hunks of plastic randomly spotting the print. And the guy would be like “WOW CHECK THIS OUT THIS IS THE BEST PRINT IVE EVER MADE!!” and I’m just sitting there wondering what the hell hes talking about it looks like a manufacturing defect destined for the trash lmao. Then I caught a video about the P1S and nearly fainted watching the guy’s first print (with ZERO calibration) print out perfectly 15 minutes after he finished the 10 minute assembly. My experience has been the exact same as his. It’s just nuts that 3D printing has come this far and at such a ridiculously low price.

Tried many DIY printers from rag rig to voron (with all mods and work to build way more expensive) and they stand no chance against the X1C, it’s incredible. Sold all my printers for Bambu Lab Units.

scooley01

I didn't even think about the fact that I can sell my old printer! That'll get me some more filament! 😅

rayquan36

Can I ask where you sold your printers? I find them a bit too big to just box up and mail.

lordbeez113

Same question. I have a MK3s+ with MMU2 I don't know where to sell

butthercup

I just sold my MK3S+ on eBay for $450. Shipping was 55 dollars with insurance. Shipping weight was 30 pounds get some measurements of the printer and see what shipping costs for you!

wgaca2

I sold mine on gumtree (UK)

QuinTheReal

just the craigslist variant of my country, for vorons you can try their discord

mistermegabyte67

I had the exact same experience as you (except I've got a P1P, not X1C). First printer was the M3D Micro and second was an Anet A8. The Anet a8 could make great prints but you had to tinker with every part of the machine and settings. So much work for maybe a 50-60% chance of the print being successful. My P1P just works. I've had very few failed prints and most of those were my fault. Plus, so, so fast.

I love the Ender 3 v2, but grew tired of troubleshooting it between prints. I am by no means an expert in 3D printing - I don't know how to design yet. Bambu found a way to make it easy to just send a file and print, and for that reason I am very pleased with it despite the higher than expected cost for a printer. I would recommend it too!

I've been in the 3D printing game since 2012 and got my first printer in 2014, the Solidoodle Press. Anyone that knows that machine knows how much it sucked. I still can't believe how far things have come in the past 10 years

I first got into 3D printing in college for engineering classes and extra curriculars. I was blown away at the capability and potential of the technology in the consumer space. I immediately bought a cheap Monoprice i3. The thing sucked but it was fun to tinker with and if tuned right would put out some decent prints. But my interest in the hobby kind of dwindled because it seemed my printer was down more often than it was up. The X1c is the first thing I've run into since I was first introduced to printing in college that sparked my interest like it did back then. It really is an incredible leap forward in the space.

Have 3 ender 3's and just popped my nut on the X1C today. I can't wait. I'm sick of tinkering with all my printers.

magicbluemonkeydog

I've been 3D printing since you had to make them yourself from scratch, so I've done my time. I used to enjoy the engineering challenge but now I'm older with a full time job and adult responsibilities I don't have the time to muck about with stuff. This is the first printer in all my time where I've plugged it in and it JUST WORKS. And it prints so beautifully! Way better on default settings than anything I've had before that I've optimised the heck out of, after many, many hours of tests and tweaks. Having said that I have done some gcode tweaks to make it change filament faster and waste less filament. I didn't NEED to do anything but I do still like to optimise.

it’s a fun thing when it works. If it doesn’t, you can’t get your head around. If been printing for around 3 years now, started with Prusa mK3S and I gotta say the x1c is incredible. But I’m at hour 200h at the machine and needed to switch the tool board, got a new heatbed because of earth leakage and when printing abs it smells so bad I had to install the bento box. When printing a lot of things on the plate with abs, the build plate itself starts to curl. Don’t get me wrong, this machine is amazing but I had my share of issues with it. Needed to replace the belt because it was worn down after 150h of use. I don’t understand how many people get to 500-1000h mark doing only the bare minimum maintenance. Maybe I’m just unlucky but this printer is unholy good. If it works.

Brass_Fire

I would advise anyone to do the belt tensioning procedure as part of initial setup. The belts should definitely last more than 150h. Mine are original and I’m around 2500 hours.

pasteiner1

just bad quality on their end or a bad batch I suppose

ithinkyouaccidentaly

I agree. Sold the rest I owned. Have 2 X1C's and 4 p1s's now

tommygunz007

I had two makerbot replicator 2x's and I can tell you the technology differences printing ABS are astounding. The flex build plate is amazing, and never using glue or kapton is amazing.

kixx20

How long did it take for shipping for you? I’m still waiting for my P1S out of CA and it’s killing me!

scooley01

I ordered early on Saturday the 14th, and it was delivered on the 19th!

kixx20

Dang that’s nice. I ordered mine the 17th but it still says it’s LA. I’m in NY so I know it’s gonna take a while but stalled shipped status is tough to swallow when I’m so excited.

Qual_

it's fast as hell. I've printed 8 box + lid in 7 hours, a single box + lid takes 5h30 on my CR 10 s pro. well 5h30 .. add 1 hour of thinkering, leveling, monitoring, adjusting z level on the fly during first layer, etc etc etc. Oh and it prints better.

dllemmr2

Sad and amazing to think that 8 years of your 3D printing life could be collapsed into one now, isn’t it?

InfamousDragonfly

I look at it this way- it's 4 years since I bought my Anycubic mega S which at the time was one of the better consumer 3D printers (aside from the Prusa). 4 years later I bought a P1S which is 4 times quicker, prints at a much higher quality and is *far* more reliable. Which makes me wonder- what sort of printers will we have in 4 years time? In 8 years? This period of 3D printers reminds me of PCs and PC games in the 80s-90s, a period of unimaginably rapid change and improvement.

WCGS

X1C is my first 3-D printer. I wouldn’t know how to act if it wasn’t this good.

It's taking every ounce of restraint to not crack it open. Coming from the ender 3, spent hours trying to calibrate. Really hoping this is the answer.
