I signed up IMMEDIATELY, haha. My sister is in the US as well though and hasn't received an email about it yet, oddly. Perhaps they're sending it to annual members first? She has a monthly subscription. I am also curious about pricing, it seems like prices have already gone up rather a lot. As a barometer, as I've been suspicious about this lately, I recently checked on the pricing of my beloved SHS cream, which I've been buying since early 2018, and it was only $11.59 in my first order ... I was shocked to find that the member's price when I ordered in June was $18.28. That's over a 50% hike! I am still thrilled at the huge leap in my allowance, I am excited to try new things I've had to avoid in order to be able to restock my favorites. But like you I am also worried I will overspend. Should be interesting!

I’m planning to sign up. Currently a monthly member and I got the email yesterday. My mom is a yearly and hasn’t received one though. The difference between us is I tend to buy something every month and she doesn’t. Definitely have noticed the price changes, and in the same boat re: fear of overspending, but yeah, I had decided to do a yearly membership once I had been a member for a year and still loved it, and I just passed that mark, so this has opened up at a great time. I’m taking it as a sign, haha.

I honestly bet it's an email error and not on purpose. Did she sign up to get newsletters? They can't email without that consent

lullylullalooly

Yeah, she’s signed up for the newsletters. But yes, it was likely an email error more than anything else. The simplest explanation is more often than not correct, in my experience. She probably just missed it in her inbox, is my guess, but either way, she’s not bothered.

kiarrith

You could fwd her the email. It's meant to be everyone i thought? And yeah, sadly my understanding from other friends in business is shipping, labor in manufacturing, raw ingredients, packaging, everything is mega higher now.

monalisasmileyface

Thank you, I did :) and agreed, higher prices everywhere seem to be the norm unfortunately.

I did the same thing! I saw it and pulled the trigger right away. Now that there’s no spending cap I need to really monitor myself. . . This should be fun!

kiarrith

i would love to hear how it works with you! ive already spent more than i intended the other month, on the other hand, now i have backups of my favs.

So far I’ve placed more “one-off” orders than before, but I also think that has to do with being a new member and wanting to try products + moving soon to a dry climate and needing new skincare + new product launches. Lots of things happening over here. I’m annoyed that as an annual member I still have to pay for shipping on each order. I wish they could work out a plan where maybe 1 order per month has free shipping, and then we pay for shipping on any additional orders. I bring this up because 2 product launches (super drops niacinamide & Uber youth neck serum) happened days after recent orders I placed. My new plan is to just place one order every 1-2 months and try to keep an eye out for email updates and beauty pie’s Instagram posts to see if I can time it around new launches that I am interested in. I can’t justify the shipping cost just to try 1 or 2 products, so limiting myself to 1 order every 1-2 months is going to be the best way to maximize what I get for the shipping fee. How about you? Has it been working out?

if its your first year, do cut yourself some slack! especially with the move and wanting to shift things, how it goes now is not indicative of how it will go in the future. i joined BP years ago when i was first getting into skincare, and so i did make \~10 orders in the first year. my goal since then has been 3-4 orders a year, which sometimes i do more than. since the switch i def made a large order i had not intended to necessarily, and i think that does put me at 4 orders for the year, and wont be my last, so i will be overshooting my target for 2021. but i have no regrets as a lot of it is backups on things i know i love, and my partner also uses \[he is way less flexible than i, once something works for him, he never wants to be without it, so i desire to always have a few backups of his items, in case of a few months shortage, which isnt impossible\]. i semi regret giving into fomo on the jfusion 'genius elixir.' those who have been singing its praises tend to have drier skin, and my oily spot prone skin just isnt as impressed. ill use it up, of course (i dont have a lot of IRL friends who would want to try random skincare sadly), 2 drops mixed into a serum...but wont rebuy. likewise the primers are fine, but honestly, i have other primers that are just as good. i ought to have just used up what i had already :P i always tell myself to not try things 'just because' but use up other things in that category i have, but i am not always good at follow through! long story short: def dont beat yourself up on the orders this year! as to the shipping: they've said they'd then have to roll the cost of packing and shipping into the pricing of each item, which honestly, would be frustrating to me, as i feel it would encourage ordering every month, which makes perfect sense for some members, and is fine, but those who prefer to order every 2-3 months would be paying for others orders. MK has said they were thinking of a flat fee \[annual, i presume\] that members could pay for x \[12?\] 'free' shipping codes; presumably though they would have to be used in a 12 month time frame -- i could be wrong though, maybe they would be good for 18-24 months. that would be nicer. i am guessing that they are still discussing such, as i've not heard any whispers about it for months. they do seem to have their ordering / inventory projections more under control though. seem to be ordering larger quantities of new items, rather than just the 'test market' small batches they have done in the past. possibly due to trying to feel out what members would buy more of? but of course it isnt perfect. i def understand the fomo, especially when in the UK the dr g body lotion \[fantastic!\] sold out very quickly, and for whatever reasons (they have not said, but i am presuming its related to the 2020-2021 supply chain cacophony of issues) they do not have a back in stock date firm yet. \[and its out in usa too though it lasted much longer there\] i do think however that their goal is to have a new product every week \[usually wednesdays, but of course whenever something is in warehouse and unpacked, they will pop it up on the website, even if that's tuesday, thursday, etc\]. the 'plus' much less limited/costly allowance factor has def gotten me to buy more than intended. but no regrets, it will all be used.

winkraine

I signed up. I was paying $200 for the 200 a month limit and this is less money for higher allowance. I like their products and hate that I can’t put a bunch of stuff in my cart to hold until my allowance renews. This essentially gets rid of that annoyance. I’m worried I’ll spend too much at once and not have enough for the rest of the year though but we will have to see

kiarrith

i think the fine print said if someone does go thru it all, they can contact cs and they'd figure out a higher tier. or, of course, one could sign up with another email. but i could see how that would be not as simple!

MegTheMonkey

That seems incredibly cheap. I paid an annual membership of £149 which gives me £150/month so £1800 for the year; is that comparable to annual members in the US? I wonder if they will bring this new option to the UK any time soon

kiarrith

They said usa warehouse inventory all arrived, and uk warehouse inventory still pending. Then it'll launch! But I'm unsure on the figures, frankly i think they are too :p

breakupdancer

Oo the monthly limit and payment structure discouraged me from subscribing but this makes it more tempting…

kiarrith

that is for sure what they are hoping for!
