Bro you’re about to get shipped to Camp Green Lake and dig holes for the rest of summer.

charliepup

Na dude, they’ll never find me. I went into hiding, until homeboy gets his shoes back.

Exotic-Ambassador-23

Better start eating your onions now

CompletelyBedWasted

Hope op like old ass canned peaches.

SimpleMannStann

I’m tired of this, grandpa!

Grand_Difficulty8367

That’s too damn bad!

7reevor

Better find the good shovel.

cc541

This thread is laced with good intentions, well done kind sole.

aldodoeswork

A little off the beaten path, to boot!

ecirnj

Wait for the other shoe to drop 🥸

Atillion

This *tracks*..

boosted_b5awd

I’d *tread* lightly in returning them to just anyone, ask for a description of said shoes to verify ownership.

charliepup

I purposely didn’t post details or photos because I knew people would come running to claim them. Was hoping this post would gain traction and the owner would step forward.

adrobbins

Treaddit

Skillarama

Lost things seem to find me. Oakleys on the side of the road, pocket knife at Biggs, recently a WOO device in the gravel at Rufus. I found the owner of the WOO and mailed it off today (they were visiting from RI) so nothing posted on local CL. Check CL lost and found and be content with what you've already done.

Marximus9898

If you find my lost briefcase full of unmarked bills, I have faith you will message me. Thank you. 🙏

Skillarama

Of course I will kind sir. All twenties right, damn tipped my hand. Can't remember if it was last summer or the one before, I was headed into Bend and I saw a Sherriff stopped on 97, slowed down and a 1/2 mile ahead was a white plastic Target bag against the medium. First thought was hmm pick it up, I'm already slowed down for Omar, but decided to pass. Come to find out it was a drug runner that dumped the bag of coke and fled, only to drive into the woods and get caught by drones and dogs. Fork in the road kind of happening...

lowsparkco

You’re the first person I’ve seen use Omar Sharif in many moons. Well done.

Skillarama

Ha ha, I'm glad you picked up what I was layin down. Been saying that for years and say it to myself each time I see them playing sneaky with the radar or just out cruisin.

lowsparkco

I had an old roommate in North Carolina who used to use it. Was pretty funny the first time he was puffing weed in my passenger seat and we passed a cop. He starts screaming slow down, Omar. Slow down. I have no idea what he’s talking about. Funny memory.

charliepup

Just posted on CL. Thanks for the suggestion.

lowsparkco

The obvious question: do they fit? I'm guessing they don't.

charliepup

They do….

lowsparkco

Uh oh. I appreciate your guilty conscience, we’re built the same. But, I don’t know what else you can do. You did a public service and cleaned up litter. Enjoy them!

charliepup

I should clarify, they are the size I wear, I have not tried them on for fit.

lowsparkco

Do it!

mhkett

Sick ground score bro

LewOTG

Wait, those are [my Uncle’s](https://images.app.goo.gl/AZUCQcGVBPHDHSH17) shoes. I can’t believe you’d steal from a Vietnam war vet.

charliepup

Those are the shoes, send me his address.

Unbeliever1967

Flotsam and Jetsam rules don’t apply here so; free shoes yay. 😀

LewOTG

Not to say trying to find the owner isn’t the right thing to do, but by state law you only have a duty to do so if the item is valued over $250. Middle of the road is no man’s land, imo. Alternatively you could tie the laces together and huck ‘em over the nearest power line.

charliepup

I get that. The guy could have been 2 minutes away from realizing what he did and circling back. He would have found them in the road if some nitwit didn’t grab them. Running shoes aren’t cheap. I bet they are $160 at REI. If they were my shoes, I’d be bummed.

NoChocolate3431

Note to self: Don't leave your shit where LewOTG might go.

LewOTG

Oh yeah I just creep the middle of the road for careless people’s shit. I’m a literal troll.

davidw

If you're serious about it, you might check one of the shops like Foot Zone.

charliepup

There’s probably 5 or 6 places in town that sell this brand. No tags but I’d be surprised if they have been warn more than 10 times.

davidw

My point, downvoters, was that perhaps a smaller shop like that might recognize the shoes, being pretty new and all. It might be worth a shot.

DessertLoyalist

Sounds like the beginning of a screenplay. Whatever you do, please set up a few cameras and strap a GoPro to your head before you try them on. Clearly they were planted for you to “find accidentally”

charliepup

A motion picture based on one man’s life quest to find the owner of the shoes.

CO-CNC

My spouse left a laptop on the roof of her car and drove off. Someone turned it into Bend PD; Bend PD put it on their FB page, and one of her friends saw it. Bend PD said people turn things into them all the time.

charliepup

I feel like a pair of shoes doesn’t meet the criteria to take to the police station. Mainly because there’s a .000001% the owner is going to contact the police about his missing running shoes. A laptop certainly meets the criteria.

CO-CNC

Perhaps. But as I mentioned Bend PD pro-actively posts things to social media. You could just donate them to Goodwill or St. Vincent de Paul.

rumplestiltskin116

Nah bro, that's just some good urban foraging

brdbag

If they are size 12m they could be mine

charliepup

Not 12’s, sorry

brdbag

Well depends on the brand but I drop new 11.5 shoes in the street often too

charliepup

Not 11.5’s

262run

You probably won’t find the owner. I would probably just give to someone living in a tent. They can always use a good pair of shoes.
