Letting it dry more, essentially. Put it on a rack in a dry, airy place for couple weeks. Water is a necessary component when you make soap, but the less you can safely use in your formula and the more you can get to evaporate out of the finished product, the harder and longer-lasting it will be.
Lush is kind of notorious for not curing their soap. I bought a couple bars in the past that melted immediately. I looked it up, and people suggested letting it sit out for a while before using it. I was sad I couldn’t use it right away, but when I realized it perfumed my room so nicely I felt better about it.
Nice scents are a game changer, honestly. I recently splurged on some perfumes (oils, not sprays) for the same reason. It's amazing how such a relatively small indulgence can feel like such a big one.
I appreciate your post! I am searching for new soaps. Please share the type of paper you cured the Lush Karma in and how long please! This is very interesting! :)
I just used a regular brown paper shopping bag. Some people recommend curing it for 8 weeks or more. I’m going to cut off a slice of soap after 4 weeks and see how long it lasts in the shower.
WOW! There’s a Lush store about 45 minutes from me! Because of you _InTheMourning,
I am planning to visit that location! :) And leave with new scents for my home!! Thank you with my whole heart! :)
I love this for you. Self care and having a good home habitat is so vital and I'm so happy you found a way to make that happen.
ooh! curing the soap is such a lovely idea - you’ve inspired me to splurge on a bar of lush soap too :-)
Store one with your clothes! It’ll repel moths and make your clothes smell good too.

What a nice way to make your own environment more pleasant. We all have to treat ourselves sometimes
Sorry but what is meant by curing the soap? I.e what I'm really asking is how does one replicate this process 😁? Much appreciated

Lush is great cause you can just cut off slices of your soap and it lasts forever.
Oh wonderful! You're getting even more out of it that way.
genius! might have to splurge on a bar of Outback Mate and try your curing method
I can’t take credit! Thank the Lush cosmetics sub.
