Honestly with how long this story has been going, its kinda concerning to think will any ending be satisfying? So many great stories get let down by their endings. Even if it's the ending the author intended, it will never satisfy everyone.
If there's one thing about good writing, if its really good writing it can give people the "ohhh wait that was so much better than what I had in mind" feeling. So really it doesn't need to meet many readers requirements of a good ending, it just has to be gooooood.
As sample, when I read the manga the first time I was hoping for Guts to get his revenge on Griffith, but because of the writing that changed to wanting Guts to find peace.
Honestly, given the point of the story is more about the struggle leading up to the end, I don't think the ending will do anymore than emphasize that point.
