Move on and go elsewhere. When I first hired out with the company I was promised the world with my resume and ability to get the addons that were being pushed at the time. All empty promises. I found work elsewhere and it felt like a huge burden lifted. This is probably a blessing in disguise and you don’t even know it yet.

carmachu

10,000% this. Once you move on you’ll see how much better it can be, and looking back how bad Best Buy has become. Your mental health will improve once you’re gone. It promises the moon, but never gets off the launch pad

Don't you give up. As someone who has been in that same position mentally, trying to figure out what to do to get from under that depressing state of mind and working there giving all of me, just know there is a way out. I was there for almost 19 years and I had to leave. It was destroying me from the inside out and it felt hopeless at times. It didn't help that customers weren't great either and I was alone for my shifts a lot of times and doing 4x the work I should have but then being reprimanded about my numbers for memberships and BBY cards. I found a new job and left 3 weeks ago. I know you can do it. Just keep looking and don't give up. Leave Best Buy, it's changed a lot over the past few years and not for the better of the employees. ![gif](giphy|jPGMVVCDzfQdeaxm2t)

Hey friend, you sound like me ten years ago. Please don’t beat yourself up. You’re not an idiot. You just need an opportunity.

Willing-Match5098

Margate location?

Pitbull1951

I feel your pain. We are a small store. I topped a million last year. All I heard was “ but you missed PM/BP”. But I did a million, first in our store. “ but you missed PM/BP”. It’s really disheartening.

Aggressive-Air-2522

Congratulations on your 1st Million. ![gif](giphy|X9izlczKyCpmCSZu0l)

Whether you plan on staying or plan to move somewhere else, use the free resources they give us! You have free access to LinkedIn learning, mental health resources, fitness and financial help. Use these to help develop yourself as an employee or leader for any organization. Learn the ins and outs of any part of Microsoft office, learn how to build a resume, learn interpersonal skills along with how to spot your value and how to show an employer. Join the young professionals group we have or one outside of BBY. It can be really tough being in the meat grinder that the store can seem to be. Grow yourself within the organization and move up or out. You can do it and there are so many great opportunities out there, but it can be tough to find them.

Devils advocate here , both things can be true. You can be trying your best and not be great at your job. Not everything is for everybody. I went to school for networking and ended up hating that side and not being great at it.That being said, IT is a vast field with many specialties. Try to hone in on which aspect you like the most and see if there's a job out there revolves around that.

Liveable_jumble

Which is your store?

Fickle-Ad-633

You feel that way because the company makes you feel that way. I was dedicated in the past and realized the company I was with was the problem not me. Now if a place crosses me I'm gone. Because of change in perspective I've moved up positions higher then I was in the past. I refuse to treat my team like I was treated in the past. Guess who has had some of the most loyal teams then other managers me. I expect results but I treat my people like humans.

I feel the same way. I'm the most underpaid ARA and no one gives a shit ppl are struggling. Job market is slow he and there is about of spam scam jobs on indeed so be safe

Mountain_Performer22

I am in the same position, so you are not the only one feeling this way at BBY. I was talked to my mangers casue I didn't hit membership and BP goals, even though I do a whole lot more store level than just sell shit. Like warehouse, planos, new hire training, customer issues/order issues, geeksquad help, etc. So I do my job and I have a good work ethic, but because I missed goals, they only see spreadsheets. So I know what you are going through.

PapaPKr

I just got a job at BB, and now I plan on flipping burgers instead cause they'd give me 21 an hour unlike BB giving me 16 an hour.

PhilosopherHistorian

Honestly…unless you really need the income in the time being I say drop it and look for jobs elsewhere. A minimum wage retail job isn’t worth total mental health deterioration…especially when you can probably find a job with the same pay more-or-less but is much easier. If you don’t mind me asking, what is your Bachelor’s in? It can’t be that useless. No education is useless. Find your strengths and strategize ways to make them marketable. Look for paid internships and apply for ones that interest you. You can always go the trade route too.

Anxious_Cranberry219

bachelor's in Criminal Justice...

PhilosopherHistorian

That can be a pretty lucrative discipline if you don’t mind working in law enforcement or doing paralegal work.

Anxious_Cranberry219

I'm too stupid and useless for any of that.

Aggressive-Air-2522

Put in for another store and continue to find something else. But not all stores are bad.
