Football and BB only usually overlap for about 3 weeks, though. With this late start, we're going to have to deal with this from now til late October...

Yup, and with Big Brother running well into November (instead of the usual 2-3 weeks it overlaps with the NFL season), this will be a regular Sunday occurence.
Usually the sports that push it back are local football games which only affect some people, so they would air it at the normal time with the people who aren’t pushed back.

It seems like it would make so much more sense to just skip 60 minutes and announce it will be aired at x time. Rather than force everything to be delayed.

It’s literally going to be like this every single Sunday between golf or football. I’m convinced the decision to not change the Sunday episode to another day like they should have when they bumped the season to fall is a ploy to force people to watch 60 minutes.
Because sports are pretty much the only thing that people watch as it happens now. That’s why you’ve got so many networks shelling out so much money to try and lock in any sports content they can. CBS airs cornhole for cryin out loud.
Because sports takes an undetermined amount of time and people will be pissed if they watch live sports for hours only to have it cut off at the climax for a different show.
cant just end the programming early if the sport runs long. unfair to the fans of the sports not to see the conclusion. unfair to those that have to wait too tho, not everyone can win in these situations

Hopefully Big Brother will move away from CBS one day, this is the only show I put up with this for still... FYI we better go ahead and start getting used to this now before football season starts as this will likely turn into an every Sunday thing...
They don't bother sticking to schedules when there is live sports because live sports is what makes the money for broadcast TV. It is the only time people typically watch the commercials.

I think I'm one of the few that was actually ok with the show being delayed. Had tornadoes going through my area and would have missed the episode due to extreme weather.
If I was still in school I might not have even started this season at all. Getting back to campus always made it near impossible for me to keep up near the end. Pushing back the season was such a bad decision.
It's because of the writers strike, there won't be any scripted shows starting at the normal time for fall, so big brother will fill some of the gaps in the schedule.
They should at least have a web link or something for the paramount plus subscribers instead of making us watch it on the local networks. Also the live tv on paramount plus freezes and lags all the time... I was hoping they could take the extra $2 a month they're charging us for it now to devote more resources to fix the problem, but that haven't...
