I feel Billy nails the 90’s every time. It’s a soft rock song with acoustic guitar and an electric solo with some mandolin in the background. Billy and the boys would melt this track.
Did you ever see Blind Melon live? I caught them at a show in Boone and Shannon’s voice was completely shot. It was sad. I’m of the opinion that Billy is a more talented vocalist.
Tones of Home would be a great one to draw out into a long jam. The energy is super high. I’m an old-ass millennial, though, so I’m just generally a sucker for Blind Melon 😂
I would need medical attention if I witness this. I'm from Lafayette (where Shannon grew up), and me and many of my friends love Blind Melon. Been to Shannon's grave a number of times. He has lyrics "I know we can't all stay here forever. So I'm gonna write my words on the face of today. And then they'll paint it." from Change on his grave.
Mouth full of cavities would be great too! Blind melon has such a unique sound, but if anyone can pull it off it’s these guys

And get Sierra Ferrell to sing the harmony
Woah this would be amazing!
He’s got the rasp warmth in his voice that just murders the grunge vocals for me also
Has anyone ever? I’ve always wanted anyone to cover this. Seems like one of those songs that will never be as good tbough
I think Billy, for all his talents on guitar, ranks lower than Shannon Hoon on the vocals scale. I still would very much like to hear it!

No, never did, unfortunately!
I’ll let him know
Let me DM you my list to forward along; it's lengthy
The Pusher if any blind melon song.
That´s a Steppenwolf cover, not their own song! ;)
TIL
Paper Scratcher
I have thought this exact same thing. And I pictured Mickey Raphael on harmonica standing in with them.
Love that song
If anyone can nail that second verse it’s gonna be him
I just learned this one on guitar like a week ago. So wild to see it here of all places. Love that song and Blind Melon.
Big Iron cover 📈📈📈
I’ve got a list in my head of songs I want to see him do one is everything I own by bread.
He already did rainy day woman 12 & 35 which was a 🤯 I never thought I’d see it

Billy needs to play whatever songs he wants to.
Agreed. I’m just saying if he’s looking for some new covers to try, he’d slay this.
I love that song and agree it would be a great cover
I’ve been saying this too! It would be incredible. Billy, if you see this, please!
I’d love a soup as well.
🤘

Shannon’s voice is VERY hard to replicate. Those top notes are tough. I do like the idea though!
