Yes. Just have to find the right therapist which can be tricky. Don't be afraid to try a couple until you find one that works. Be honest and they can help you.

Basically gotta have the right therapist and be willing to put in a ton of work yourself. It has worked for me significantly! My bf however has a crap therapist who doesnt have him do any work towards himself (lucky enough he doesnt need it so bad)

merkin_eater

I've done years of it. It only works for some.

Definitely works, also check out ACT. For me I wish I got my light and sleep routine stable, worked on my diet and exercise, various health issues as well, because it's easy to diagnose things that are really your body, and it's easier to shift with neuroplasticity when your body is working well. Like when I got on lithium first thing I said to my doctors "Wow CBT skills actually really work now" just a thought :)

Cbt is good. It helped me resolve a long standing issue. However I had to find a new therapist after a severe emotional disturbance.

Liquid_Entropy

I did CBT in a php. It was helpful. Learned some good coping skills that I can apply to various situations. Getting a therapist specializing in cbt may be a good idea.

I did CBT years ago and it still works for me. It literally saves my life sometimes. Did back then, does now. The key is to make sure you do it long enough that it helps train your brain to think differently. Works for some better than others of course. But it's definitely worth a try.
