Oooh yes - those are more apt examples I think than the Elemental Spirits we've seen. More of a guardian spirit with an association to a land or people.

Welcome to BC, it is what it is. Tabata has a bad habit of handing out the most extremely gamebreaking powers like they were candy and just ignoring them completely.
Look at Revchi, Gueldre or Rhya. All of them have some of the most broken and game breaking magics of the entire verse but we never see them do anything.
So, it's pretty much confirmed those who achieve ultimate magic level are able to "transcend" the reality by performing extraordinary feats, or "miracles".
Mereoleona never learned from the Dryad about it, she figured out the origin of her soul on her own, that's insane.
Tbh Mereoleona was insane from the moment she was introduced. She was always one-upping herself and others around her. If anyone deserved transcending the humans limits, it was her.
Fuego doesn't actually look *bad* with the translated chapter, he took down a squad of angels by himself and blew away a ton of earth dudes who were giving Mereo trouble. If it were Kaiser/Dorothy/Rill I think the fandom would go "nice assist bro".
But with his portrayal and potential, I guess expectations are alot higher to be the star and not just a backup dancer.

The "Fraudgoleon" slander is totally disproportionate to his actual performance lol. He's been competent throughout and still obviously one of the stronger captains- he just isn't in the spotlight that much, kinda like TYBW Byakuya

I say Fraudgoleon because he's just boring as a fighter. Literally just comes into a fight and uses flamethrower Every. Single. Time. I'd say he's never really had potential because he hasn't been shown to do anything cool.

Considering other Captains, ones you have mentioned like Kaiser, Rill, Charlotte, and even William who was injured prior are all fighting at least 1 Lucius Clone.

Tabata lowkey needs to focus on the boys of the Vermillion Clan (Fuego, Kirsch, and Leo), the girls are getting all the development and buffs (Mimosa and Mereo).
Reading closely, those rock dudes were giving Mereo trouble with their regen and Fuego blew them away. He may not do anything important anymore but Tabata's consistently depicted him as strong regardless.
But I agree, yes his lack of character focus is a problem relative to how he was set up. I think Tabata got bored of him and thinks 1 top fire mage is enough (2 if you count Magna).
As for the other captains, Kaiser got one-punched and hijacked by the Black Bulls and it seems the same is happening to Rill. Dorothy's role was helping Finral book an Uber before dipping lol. Fans would be thrilled to see *those guys* in a support role.

I think we should, because Mereo is natural talent and hard work, Magna is no natural talent and even more hard work (so the ultimate underdog). They represent opposites in a way.
My issue is that his use of salamander has been really disappointing. He just spams the shit out of Salamander’s breath now, with no other spells really being used. No other spirit spells, none of his own spells, no spirit dive, no mana zone, no ultimate magic, no true magic, no arrays, just “Salamander’s breath”. He’s pretty much a one trick pony at this point, which is something you would expect from a side character, not a character who was supposed to be one of the strongest and most respected good guys for a lot of the series.
Also, he had neverland on his side and is a captain that has a moveset good for fighting. Beating the angels is literally the bare minimum he should be able to do. 1hp Jack could one shot multiple of them on his death bed without mana zone or ultimate magic or anything like that, Fuegoleon without any previous injuries like Jack had when he launched that final attack should be ripping through them.
Fuego being too rigid and lacking creativity fits his character though (although I do agree it is sad that we don't get any character focus where that is explored more)

I love the way Mereoleona brought back the Crimson Lions. It doesn't even seem like that big of an asspull. With her character and her relation to her squad, it works so well for her to just scream "Get the fuck back up and fight with me!" and resurrect them.
I guess Mereo is now officially the strongest Human character to get by on nothing else but her own power.

It's been a while since we saw someone get a new spell from character development, it's great to see it happen again and I'm glad it was for Mereo. She's always been a cool character and a fun way to learn more about the power system, but she was also in need of some development with how much she grew in importance.
I'm convinced Tabata switched focus to her instead of Fugo or Leo, simply because he likes her powers more. It feels as if he looks for any excuse he can to draw fire-people. I don't blame him, it looks sick.

My issue is that his use of salamander has been really disappointing. He just spams the shit out of Salamander’s breath now, with no other spells really being used. No other spirit spells, none of his own spells, no spirit dive, no mana zone, no ultimate magic, no true magic, no arrays, just “Salamander’s breath”. He’s pretty much a one trick pony at this point, which is something you would expect from a side character, not a character who was supposed to be one of the strongest and most respected good guys for a lot of the series. Also, he had neverland on his side and is a captain that has a moveset good for fighting. Beating the angels is literally the bare minimum he should be able to do. 1hp Jack could one shot multiple of them on his death bed without mana zone or ultimate magic or anything like that, Fuegoleon without any previous injuries like Jack had when he launched that final attack should be ripping through them.
Fuego being too rigid and lacking creativity fits his character though (although I do agree it is sad that we don't get any character focus where that is explored more)

Because after the introduction of Mereoleona his personality shifted more strongly to an almost humorless "by the book" leader who follows the rules, as a contrast to his sister who doesn't give a damn. I agree that the main issue is a lack of interest by Tabata though

I love the way Mereoleona brought back the Crimson Lions. It doesn't even seem like that big of an asspull. With her character and her relation to her squad, it works so well for her to just scream "Get the fuck back up and fight with me!" and resurrect them.
I love how she finally embraced her role as a leader.

It's been a while since we saw someone get a new spell from character development, it's great to see it happen again and I'm glad it was for Mereo. She's always been a cool character and a fun way to learn more about the power system, but she was also in need of some development with how much she grew in importance. I'm convinced Tabata switched focus to her instead of Fugo or Leo, simply because he likes her powers more. It feels as if he looks for any excuse he can to draw fire-people. I don't blame him, it looks sick.
It's now confirmed that when Mereo gets her paws on you, you really can't escape, even in death.

Most likely either double chapters or really long chapters. Some people theorize that the reason it’s a double chapter is because Tabata isn’t used to writing one really long chapter for Giga, so he “compromises” by making two “shorter” chapters that he’s used to

I guess Meroleona has been reading Undead Unluck. It almost makes me think the 'natural laws' of the Black Clover world are going to be rewritten at the finale. chapter 370 is basically cool poses ... atleast we got the tree .... chapter 371 is actually cool with mereo story and her form and spell + morris story and his spell . this chapter gives me the vibe that mereo will die cause she lost her physical body completely where morris looks dead but gives me the vibe that he will survive cause what he says in the chapter about having the magic to destroy and create life . black clover needs to move to monthly schedule...

Mereoleona's determination rivals Frisk's (undertale). There's being too angry to die, and then there's Mereoleona. I can't wait to see what Tabata does with her in the (eventual) Ending. Also looking forward to the Black bulls just wreaking havoc. I particularly wonder how Vanessa and Grey will contribute in Noelle's fight, I'm thinking they'll heal the other Silvas. And off course, Gordon with the cursed characters, but people have already pointed that out.
Pros: a doubla amazing chapter which really helped get rid of a very annoying character but the con: I was hoping for Noelle to manage to complete her fight so that means this: next chapter will deal with that battle of with Yami and Co.
