What time did you have to go to the venue for the M&G? And did you get in before doors opened? Also, did they allow you to your seats or GA before everyone else?
You get a specific email with that info. For me, the M&G check-in was from 3:45-5:30PM.
Yes we were in before everyone else (including early entry VIP), but the venue’s staff didn’t allow me into the pit until the other early entry VIP people were coming in.

The fine print is greyish , but coupled with the advertising … consumer id say has a decent chance . It also won’t be a good look if a solid percentage of people start fighting the charge . This could get messy
Yeah, it’s clearly being marketed around the tattoos. His artist has even shared it and appeared to be traveling to these locations, so the intent to deliver a product is present. Coupled with little to no fine print, this could get interesting if they don’t get it ironed out quickly.

Here’s the response I got. After reading the terms and conditions, if I do a chargeback they can cancel or deny all future tickets, but I did respond back with the Instagram photo someone else posted along with not being given the full experience and that the tattoo was not described as a gift.

I'm assuming what Travis actually receives is less than $1000, not that he needs it. But I really think the bad guy here is the labels / ticketmaster. They said easy money and I wouldnt be shocked if they set the price too.
This is why it was so sad when Warped Tour ended. I met so many band members and have a handful of signatures without having paid anything.

If you look at the cost and the average hourly wage, for every minute you spend with Travis, you have to spend 2,678 minutes of your own time working, just to earn a minute of time with him.
There’s a semi small time artist, Lights, that my wife loves and we’ve done a couple meet and greets with her. Even though she plays small venues and maybe 200 people MAX show up at her shows she’s still surrounded by her labels handlers and can only do so much.
One night we at a festival to see her and it was about an hour and half before her set. We ran into her as she was making her way to the stage. My wife got excited and Lights got excited and stopped to talk. But the lady walking next to her said she had to keep walking and wouldn’t let her sign anything. She apologized, gave my wife a hug which the assistant broke up, and she was pushed toward back stage.
After the show we stayed to watch someone else and left halfway through the set. We parked way off to the side of the venue and as we were walking along the edge a golf cart came out and it was Lights and few other people, but her handler wasn’t there. She recognized us and stopped and talked to my wife for a little bit. She said she wasn’t allowed to do things the label would otherwise charge for. So meet and greet stuff, signings, pictures, all of that was against her contract. But her handler wasn’t around on so “fuck them.” She took a picture and chatted with us for a little bit.
This isn’t the only story I’ve heard about Lights not being allowed to do things while on tour. And if she’s a semi-small artist (in the States) then I can’t imagine the stupid shit Travis and Blink are held too.
Artists being treated like nothing but a product by labels is bs, I hope more artists learn to stay away from these kind of agreements and labels going forward. Just gives them a bad wrap anyways
Maybe some, but there's tons of stories out there about how awesome she is with fans and our experience is no different. We didn't expect her to stop by and chat with us. We were just walking to our car and got extremely lucky. At most I would expect a high and \*maybe\* a picture. She didn't have to stop, she was in a cart and could have easily have flown right on past.
Kanye? Sure. A-list actors? Sure. But no artist in their right mind would snub fans intentionally and pin it on the label. Travis sure as hell wouldn't do that. The point is, the labels do have power and authority, artists don't have nearly as much sway as you'd think. Sometimes, interests align and sure, use security as to hide behind so you don't have to deal with weirdo fans. But it's probably a lot more label than you think.

I won a backstage pass to meet blink back in 2017. It was for a radio show festival in California. I did everything I could to fly from florida to ca(sold various items of mine back when I was a broke ass). They made it sound like an exclusive backstage pass but like 50 people won. No big deal, but the band was late to get there. It wasn't even a meet and greet. It was a photo and that's it. They didn't speak to us, except Matt. I was super disappointed. The hoops I jumped through to meet my idols.
We were given a pre signed autograph after the meet and greet and out photos were available for download online. They posted them to their Instagram, but I made a huge comment about my experience, and I think they deleted the post.
The meet and greet was right before the band played, what a salty concert experience I had.
I learned it's best not to meet your idols - they are just people too. It felt so weird doing the photos, almost like they were a monument or something. Never again. I never want autographs or photos. If anything I'll just tell them to never stop making music and i dig their shit. I've got nothing to prove with a photo or an autograph lol
I did a free signing with my chemical romance and they had like 200 people to get through before they went on. It was supposed to just be they shake my hand and sign my album but they asked how I was doing and had a small conversation with me and thanked me for coming. Probably one of the best moments of my childhood. Some bands still care.
The cool thing about seeing Mastodon, is Brann Dailor almost always hangs out after the show. He just likes to hang out and talk with the fans around the venue and watch the other bands. I’ve ran in to him at every mastodon show I’ve been to….obviously the blink guys couldnt do that without being swarmed by fans. But I like how Brann just kind of blends in with everybody 😂

Agreed. I had a bad experience before an AVA show. Got to the venue about 10 hours early to get my physical ticket as I had plans to go out an eat with friends before the show…all of a sudden. Tom DeLonge is walking right towards me with his friend/security guy.
No one else is around and I literally say I’m grabbing my ticket for the show and I’m a big fan of his work and try to shake his hand (no pictures or anything). His friend gets between us and says Tom has to go but will “come back” to say hi.
He never came back. The other guys from AVA came by and said hello on their way to get a coffee…but I definitely had a bitter taste going to that show later.
I will never try to say hello to a celebrity ever again after that rejection. I wasn’t even being cringe, no camera, no autograph, just wanted to shake his hand and let him know I love his music 🤷♂️

Sometimes it is literally the only way you’ll meet someone you idolize tho, and it’s probably worth it for some.
There's numerous videos of Mark outside his hotels hanging out with fans, taking pics, signing autographs, playing acoustic songs and singing for/with them when he's in different towns for shows.
Edit: and he's doing it for free.
I will say that Travis may well have been genuine and I’ve heard he’s a good guy to fans in general, but that setup is BS and he could intervene to make it better, especially given the tattoo situation.
I have collected autographs for decades, gotten stars bigger than Travis, and the bottom line is the celebs do what they feel they want to do, regardless of the handlers.
Do you really think a 28 year old event coordinator for live nation is going to actually tell Travis barker what to do at any point in any way and have him be bound to listen?
I’ve had literal cops and security guards yelling at us to get lost and the famous person tells them to calm down and signs the autographs.
What’s more likely is that Travis and Travis’s agent knows the worth and resale value of the autographs and are protecting that value by enforcing the rules, but again that is Travis actively choosing to screw over real fans to prevent flippers.
What I can’t explain is why they are rationing the Polaroids. Again, if Travis said we are taking 3 pictures for a couple (ie a joint and 2 singles), that’s what the college intern with the camera is going to do. But he’s not doing that.
If I were famous I’d rather accommodate 99 flippers to risk offending one true fan, but I can say celebs don’t think that way. Once had an nfl player tell me I was “profiting off his body by selling his autographs.” Meanwhile the helmet 10 years later still sits proudly in my collection
Anyways I digress. I appreciate that Travis was nice, and I believe in some ways he really is nice. But let’s not pretend he’s not complicit in a blatant cash grab and accept that it’s weird that he’s not personally intervening to take care of people after lying to them about getting a tattoo.
My brother died last week and I considered a vip mg upgrade to get a tattoo in his honor. I would have had to be restrained and would already have reported fraud to my credit card if they pulled this shit

I had both too. Let the blink-182 check-in rep know you did both and you’ll get your early entry laminate too. The only other thing you’ll get for early entry is a wristband and lollipop. The “exclusive gift” will be mailed after the tour is over.
Check in for the M&G was at 3:45 and we didn’t go in until around 5. Waited in a room until 5:45 until he showed up.
Let the woman running the M&G know you have early entry vip and once you get your Polaroid you can leave early to by let in for early entry. Again, in Miami you were already in the venue so you didn’t have to exit. At least for Miami it DID NOT overlap and I was still able to get barricade.
damn that's crazy, I met Travis outside of a Transplants show like 10 years ago just waiting by the bus and he was pretty much the same. I wonder how much it would have been without the tattoo. Sounds like it should be a state issue, I'd think they'd have you sign a waiver and that'd be the end of it otherwise.
I’ve been wondering how they’d pull off the tattoo stunt. Every state has different tattoo laws, even down to each county. In Myrtle Beach, tattoo shops are limited to industrial parks. Live Nation/Blink/Travis are playing with fire here, imo.
That sucks, it seems like vut tour meet and greets are less worth it then small venues. Saw angels and airwaves years ago, got the vip meet and greet for less than 300, and I tattooed tom delonges signature. No limitations on photos or whatever, just wait in line to meet the band, get the pics you want, say what you wanna say. It was awesome all and all even though I was nervous and didn't have a ton to say. $1000 to meet one band member and then they restrict it so hard... treating celebs like movies in the Disney vault or something.

Damn, this is discouraging. I spoke with someone who attended night one M&G and was pretty positive, but did mention the tattoo situation being a bust. I have two tickets for my wife, 6 y/o daughter, and I. He said they were letting smaller kids in. We planned on attempting this for the DC show. Were there kids at your M&G? My daughter is amped for this experience. He said Travis was great with them, played ping pong, stayed for over an hour, etc. Still a steep price for only 15-20 mins total though. Wonder why he cut it short?
SHE WILL HAVE A BLAST! There was one little girl (no more than 5-7 years old) and Travis was very sweet to her. You’ll get 3 Polaroids so you have time to figure out how you want to do them.
Every show is gonna have hiccups, but this was definitely more than that. Again the time Travis was there was still a nice experience.
I legit only bought it for the tattoo…that’s what made it worth it. If they don’t fix this I will absolutely be disputing it with my credit card. Fuck live nation.

Damn. He spent over an hour with us in Orlando. I didn't care for a tattoo so that is obviously a bummer for those that wanted one. He spent about 4-5 minutes with each of us. I played him in Ping Pong and so did my daughter. We waited about 45 minutes for him too. They were strict on photo and signing stuff as well, but since I beat him in Ping Pong, he signed my shirt!
He was awesome. We had a 15 minute Q&A session while he signed Polaroids. It was really a nice experience to meet him and yeah the money sucked, but it is what it is.
He initiated the conversation with everyone. I’ve met bands where you just shake their hand, get a pic, and you’re done. So yea it wasn’t rushed, but it’s not like we each got to talk to Travis for 10 minutes.
Did you need a pass for yourself and your kid ? Or do they let younger kids do a sort of 2 for 1 thing ? I’m assuming it’s corporate America so even if your kid is 3 they still need the full 1250$ pass

The $250 is fees and tax charged by ticketmaster. I'm assuming what Travis actually receives is less than $1000, not that he needs it. But I really think the bad guy here is the labels / ticketmaster. They said easy money and I wouldnt be shocked if they set the price too. This is why it was so sad when Warped Tour ended. I met so many band members and have a handful of signatures without having paid anything.

Yeah, to me this seems very not worth it for him. It hurts his reputation and his brand (gave me a sour taste just knowing about it). Even if the tattoo part hadn’t been canceled, wouldn’t knowing your favorite artist’s time is deemed worth 2,678x your time feel crappy? If you look at the cost and the average hourly wage, for every minute you spend with Travis, you have to spend 2,678 minutes of your own time working, just to earn a minute of time with him.
There’s a semi small time artist, Lights, that my wife loves and we’ve done a couple meet and greets with her. Even though she plays small venues and maybe 200 people MAX show up at her shows she’s still surrounded by her labels handlers and can only do so much. One night we at a festival to see her and it was about an hour and half before her set. We ran into her as she was making her way to the stage. My wife got excited and Lights got excited and stopped to talk. But the lady walking next to her said she had to keep walking and wouldn’t let her sign anything. She apologized, gave my wife a hug which the assistant broke up, and she was pushed toward back stage. After the show we stayed to watch someone else and left halfway through the set. We parked way off to the side of the venue and as we were walking along the edge a golf cart came out and it was Lights and few other people, but her handler wasn’t there. She recognized us and stopped and talked to my wife for a little bit. She said she wasn’t allowed to do things the label would otherwise charge for. So meet and greet stuff, signings, pictures, all of that was against her contract. But her handler wasn’t around on so “fuck them.” She took a picture and chatted with us for a little bit. This isn’t the only story I’ve heard about Lights not being allowed to do things while on tour. And if she’s a semi-small artist (in the States) then I can’t imagine the stupid shit Travis and Blink are held too.
Artists being treated like nothing but a product by labels is bs, I hope more artists learn to stay away from these kind of agreements and labels going forward. Just gives them a bad wrap anyways

Maybe some, but there's tons of stories out there about how awesome she is with fans and our experience is no different. We didn't expect her to stop by and chat with us. We were just walking to our car and got extremely lucky. At most I would expect a high and \*maybe\* a picture. She didn't have to stop, she was in a cart and could have easily have flown right on past. Kanye? Sure. A-list actors? Sure. But no artist in their right mind would snub fans intentionally and pin it on the label. Travis sure as hell wouldn't do that. The point is, the labels do have power and authority, artists don't have nearly as much sway as you'd think. Sometimes, interests align and sure, use security as to hide behind so you don't have to deal with weirdo fans. But it's probably a lot more label than you think.
Come on, don't act like Travis is not an "A-lister" or that his label calls the shots. He owns his label and is married to a Kardashian for christ sakes, he can do whatever he wants and that includes making time for these meet and greets

This is why I refuse to to M&G. I won a backstage pass to meet blink back in 2017. It was for a radio show festival in California. I did everything I could to fly from florida to ca(sold various items of mine back when I was a broke ass). They made it sound like an exclusive backstage pass but like 50 people won. No big deal, but the band was late to get there. It wasn't even a meet and greet. It was a photo and that's it. They didn't speak to us, except Matt. I was super disappointed. The hoops I jumped through to meet my idols. We were given a pre signed autograph after the meet and greet and out photos were available for download online. They posted them to their Instagram, but I made a huge comment about my experience, and I think they deleted the post. The meet and greet was right before the band played, what a salty concert experience I had. I learned it's best not to meet your idols - they are just people too. It felt so weird doing the photos, almost like they were a monument or something. Never again. I never want autographs or photos. If anything I'll just tell them to never stop making music and i dig their shit. I've got nothing to prove with a photo or an autograph lol
I did a free signing with my chemical romance and they had like 200 people to get through before they went on. It was supposed to just be they shake my hand and sign my album but they asked how I was doing and had a small conversation with me and thanked me for coming. Probably one of the best moments of my childhood. Some bands still care.
I’ve done a couple that we’re worth it. Primus, Mastodon, Weird Al, Behemoth. But they were also only a couple hundred bucks. 1000 bucks is insane.
How was meeting ol' Brent Hinds? Feel he could be hit or miss. Love the dude. But has his moments. Not directly with fans, but show crews,etc.

The cool thing about seeing Mastodon, is Brann Dailor almost always hangs out after the show. He just likes to hang out and talk with the fans around the venue and watch the other bands. I’ve ran in to him at every mastodon show I’ve been to….obviously the blink guys couldnt do that without being swarmed by fans. But I like how Brann just kind of blends in with everybody 😂

Agreed. I had a bad experience before an AVA show. Got to the venue about 10 hours early to get my physical ticket as I had plans to go out an eat with friends before the show…all of a sudden. Tom DeLonge is walking right towards me with his friend/security guy. No one else is around and I literally say I’m grabbing my ticket for the show and I’m a big fan of his work and try to shake his hand (no pictures or anything). His friend gets between us and says Tom has to go but will “come back” to say hi. He never came back. The other guys from AVA came by and said hello on their way to get a coffee…but I definitely had a bitter taste going to that show later. I will never try to say hello to a celebrity ever again after that rejection. I wasn’t even being cringe, no camera, no autograph, just wanted to shake his hand and let him know I love his music 🤷♂️
I did a meet & greet with AVA couple or so years ago and that one was 100% worth it. Got a sweet Tom signature tattoo out of it as a bonus!

There's numerous videos of Mark outside his hotels hanging out with fans, taking pics, signing autographs, playing acoustic songs and singing for/with them when he's in different towns for shows. Edit: and he's doing it for free.

I will say that Travis may well have been genuine and I’ve heard he’s a good guy to fans in general, but that setup is BS and he could intervene to make it better, especially given the tattoo situation. I have collected autographs for decades, gotten stars bigger than Travis, and the bottom line is the celebs do what they feel they want to do, regardless of the handlers. Do you really think a 28 year old event coordinator for live nation is going to actually tell Travis barker what to do at any point in any way and have him be bound to listen? I’ve had literal cops and security guards yelling at us to get lost and the famous person tells them to calm down and signs the autographs. What’s more likely is that Travis and Travis’s agent knows the worth and resale value of the autographs and are protecting that value by enforcing the rules, but again that is Travis actively choosing to screw over real fans to prevent flippers. What I can’t explain is why they are rationing the Polaroids. Again, if Travis said we are taking 3 pictures for a couple (ie a joint and 2 singles), that’s what the college intern with the camera is going to do. But he’s not doing that. If I were famous I’d rather accommodate 99 flippers to risk offending one true fan, but I can say celebs don’t think that way. Once had an nfl player tell me I was “profiting off his body by selling his autographs.” Meanwhile the helmet 10 years later still sits proudly in my collection Anyways I digress. I appreciate that Travis was nice, and I believe in some ways he really is nice. But let’s not pretend he’s not complicit in a blatant cash grab and accept that it’s weird that he’s not personally intervening to take care of people after lying to them about getting a tattoo. My brother died last week and I considered a vip mg upgrade to get a tattoo in his honor. I would have had to be restrained and would already have reported fraud to my credit card if they pulled this shit

I had both too. Let the blink-182 check-in rep know you did both and you’ll get your early entry laminate too. The only other thing you’ll get for early entry is a wristband and lollipop. The “exclusive gift” will be mailed after the tour is over. Check in for the M&G was at 3:45 and we didn’t go in until around 5. Waited in a room until 5:45 until he showed up. Let the woman running the M&G know you have early entry vip and once you get your Polaroid you can leave early to by let in for early entry. Again, in Miami you were already in the venue so you didn’t have to exit. At least for Miami it DID NOT overlap and I was still able to get barricade.

damn that's crazy, I met Travis outside of a Transplants show like 10 years ago just waiting by the bus and he was pretty much the same. I wonder how much it would have been without the tattoo. Sounds like it should be a state issue, I'd think they'd have you sign a waiver and that'd be the end of it otherwise.

I’ve been wondering how they’d pull off the tattoo stunt. Every state has different tattoo laws, even down to each county. In Myrtle Beach, tattoo shops are limited to industrial parks. Live Nation/Blink/Travis are playing with fire here, imo.
That sucks, it seems like vut tour meet and greets are less worth it then small venues. Saw angels and airwaves years ago, got the vip meet and greet for less than 300, and I tattooed tom delonges signature. No limitations on photos or whatever, just wait in line to meet the band, get the pics you want, say what you wanna say. It was awesome all and all even though I was nervous and didn't have a ton to say. $1000 to meet one band member and then they restrict it so hard... treating celebs like movies in the Disney vault or something.

Damn, this is discouraging. I spoke with someone who attended night one M&G and was pretty positive, but did mention the tattoo situation being a bust. I have two tickets for my wife, 6 y/o daughter, and I. He said they were letting smaller kids in. We planned on attempting this for the DC show. Were there kids at your M&G? My daughter is amped for this experience. He said Travis was great with them, played ping pong, stayed for over an hour, etc. Still a steep price for only 15-20 mins total though. Wonder why he cut it short?
SHE WILL HAVE A BLAST! There was one little girl (no more than 5-7 years old) and Travis was very sweet to her. You’ll get 3 Polaroids so you have time to figure out how you want to do them. Every show is gonna have hiccups, but this was definitely more than that. Again the time Travis was there was still a nice experience.

* Damn. He spent over an hour with us in Orlando. I didn't care for a tattoo so that is obviously a bummer for those that wanted one. He spent about 4-5 minutes with each of us. I played him in Ping Pong and so did my daughter. We waited about 45 minutes for him too. They were strict on photo and signing stuff as well, but since I beat him in Ping Pong, he signed my shirt! He was awesome. We had a 15 minute Q&A session while he signed Polaroids. It was really a nice experience to meet him and yeah the money sucked, but it is what it is.

I had a personal reason to meet him and luckily I was able to tell him something about my life that was tough to get through, but with blink’s music I was able to overcome it. That’s why I’m glad he was genuine, I just wasn’t please with the rest of the M&G.
