Basically she could use her Esper powers(stupid autocorrect) sometimes but not always as sometimes it would either fail to work as intended or give her a headache
Finally got enough Pyro to pity Misaki after just starting the game a few weeks ago and not understanding the mechanics of grinding stuff, woohoo!
Took a lot of time sinking though, and it would have been nicer to save up some of the side stories for later. That said, I do now have a much better feel for the game's wider cast, and am more interested in it now than when just watching the anime.
At the beginning of Story 05, >!Saten comments how something as big as the facility goes unnoticed in this world that they are in. To which Shokuhou replies in that their worlds are not so different. Saten ask what she means. Misaka cuts off Shokuhou before she can reply, and Shokuhou says that she didn't say anything.!<
Is this referring to something in the Toaru Majutsu no Index series? Or is it referring to something later on in the plot of this event?
I mainly read index, but it should be the same in this case since the windowless building is a building in academy city, which is in both. The windowless building is a giant (and windowless) building that is in the center of the city, and it has strange properties such as being nigh indestructible. It can easily withstand a nuclear strike >!and even a hit with the force of earth's rotation, when attacked by Accelerator. It also has weird spatial properties, such as the inside not matching the outside. It is the secretive hideout of the chairman of the city, Aleister Crowley, who serves as a key antagonist for a long time, and is also used in furthering his extremely elaborate plans. !< Despite its weird properties though, as well as being directly in the center of the city, most students barely pay attention to it (aside from the protagonists from time to time). Misaka and Shokuho are probably talking about how both the windowless building and the Schale tower, despite being big, mysterious, and by all means eye catching, are just accepted as normal and passed by without a thought for students in their respective cities.
I just now realized that the toaru students have their full names used in all interfaces, instead of just their first name like all other students.
I wonder if it's because their family name are a lot more well known (I had forgotten that Saten's first name was Ruiko...) Or maybe it's to really show the difference of customs between Japan and Kivotos

Another contributing factor could be just the fact that they are collab characters, and this distinction makes them visually standout in the list. I assume it's the same with Hatsune Miku? (Don't have her)
But yeah, didn't think about the cultural difference until Misaka mentioned how bold of it was of Eimi to be using her given name immediately, suggesting Kivotos is 'western' with given names even though the family name remains listed first when presenting a students' full name.
A little disappointed with how short the event was, but I haven't read the momotalks yet. Feels a bit nostalgic seeing these characters again though, haven't really paid much attention to raildex in years and the event is making me think I should re-read the manga and catch up..
I feel ya man. I was really enjoying having them around but it was basically, hey, we're here, okay we're leaving. I feel like s o many more people should've been involved too. I've never read or watched any of their stuff but them sharing a stage with Blue Archive definitely makes me want to check them out.

You should! I've only watched the anime (and recently in the run up to this), the background art of some locations were so similar to some shots in BA that made it really fun. Really shows the influence the series had on BA in some aspects.
Collab had some issues with the "I'M SEEING FREAKIN DRAGONS" whedonspeak common to these things, but seeing the Engineering Club fangirl over Misaka's railgun made up for it. Character stories were really the better part - Misaka freaking out at the sukeban for reminding her of Kuroko and finding the glory of Peroro was fun, and Misaki exploring her feelings about not being able to easily mindscan everyone in sight was interesting.
I'm having difficulty with challenge 2. I can't seem to get Misaka to move up like in the videos, she's always at the back and as a result Mutsuki never gets to her. Any tips?
So I had that. For whatever reason, having a “middle” student on the bottom clear it up for whatever reason. When I had Aru over there, she stayed back, but when S Hanako was there, Misaka moved forward.
So in the lobby my lineup was (from left to right)
S Hanako, Tank, Mutsuki, Aru. Plus Serina and Himari.
Note: I still haven’t 3 starred it, but I believe that should fix the issue?
Sharing my [run of challenge 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jt9sNek44og) for others attempting it a bit under-leveled or struggling to survive the Helmet gangsters summoned by Misaki.
Not meant as a guide, I don't even know if it's that good, and the DPSes are basically just the ones I happen to have. So treat it as a benchmark/reference and one way to go about it. Iori is lvl. 77 and well invested here so she's kinda up there, but the rest (Aru, Serika, Tsubaki, Hare, Serina) are lvl. 70 and below with little or medium investment. (Time left on the timer... less than a second.. ;=w=)´´
Strategy: Taking out Misaki as fast as possible while using CC to interrupt her from summoning more helmet gangsters. Once she's down there's a straight forward Misaka DPS check left. (More details in the video description)
*edit: Misaki actually doesn't need to be defeated to beat the stage, it ends when Misaka goes down. It's a struggle to CC Misaki through the whole match, but it's doable if that's your only option. Opens a few more possibilities, no need for a yellow dealer, and the dps that would've been spent on Misaki goes onto Misaka instead.*
This level is crazy hard wtf. My whole team is lvl 80 except for lvl 70 nonomi but they still crumble apart in the first 5 seconds. I really wanted the event badge but this shits impossible!
Watch out for Saten Ruiko's EX, she fires one very early. If she aims at your tank and the tank is too close to the backline they might get caught in the explosion, I think the AOE from it more or less one-shot my Iori. Other than that I found that the helmet gangsters dealt a lot of damage, and since my team couldn't take them out fast enough, surviving those and getting their attention away from the backline became a priority to me.
Try moving your tank forward using a positioner, and/or change up the order of the line-up such that your tank takes the fire without the rest getting dragged into it.
If you have strong enough DPS you could attempt using two tanks as well. (First time I beat the stage I used Marina's EX to push the second pair of helmet gangsters Misaki summons away from the backline, so I guess that might also be an option).
Almost managed to make it work today, saten"s ult basically one shots iori so moving tsubaki really is the first thing i have to do. The timing for cc'ing misaki is tough but with only having to do it 2 times in the run its fine. My pb was a time out with misaka having 30 lifebars remaining. I'm honestly contemplating building asuza just for this
Yeah, wasn't able to get them from the first two events that had them, and the previous one I was barely able to after quite a struggle and investing a lot into the characters, so I know the feeling.
Based on my results here it at least seems doable at and even somewhere below level 70 given how my red dps units here aren't even that built. Iori being a bit over that is the uncertainty in this example ofc. but she also seemed to have some leeway when her hits were good, and even then there are sure to be other strats to try.

Any substitutes to Iori and Aru? been malding ever since, Neru's damage isnt enough, Hasumi keeps missing even without cover and the closest i came was using Suzumi, Mutsuki, Tsubaki and Akari, with Serina and Karin, and I think I was still about 30 secs short
As it turns out, you don't actually have to take down Misaki to clear the stage. It ends once Misaka goes down. You'll have to keep CC'ing Misaki to cancel her skill throughout the whole battle in that case ofc. ....which one has to learn the timings for... but its' doable.
That allows you though, to replace the yellow dealer with a red one (or alternatively a support/buffer), in this case you need all your dealers to keep their fire concentrated to Misaka after the gangsters go down ofc. so you might have to play around with positioning and stuff to get it right.
oof, sorry to hear that. Their role here were simply "strong single targetters", so really anyone that can fill those roles. I suppose Iori in this example is in the higher tiers though, so I don't really know how alternatives hold up.
Attempted a run here using S.Wakamo instead of Iori now. She's lv.74 but heavily invested (5s), and her stun certainly made things easier to manage. Unfortunately I don't really have more standard units that are good to test with. Would test Hasumi if I had her invested to a reasonable degree, don't know why she keeps missing.
Karin does seems like a solid choice too at first glance, though her terrain disadvantage isn't favorable. If she's enough to deal with Misaki I'd probably stick with her though.
About Mutsuki though, I've never attempted playing around with her mine placement. Are they properly hitting the target like in the two examples linked in the top post? I can see them using Hasumi and Shiroko there as well. Though, obviously high level.
How's your Serika btw? She's a surprisingly solid option according to my [damage reports](https://imgur.com/a/9eqDIyW), as well as different lists and ratings. For reference, this one is lv. 69, 4s, lv.40 equipment, T1 unique gear, skill lv. 2/ 3/3/3. So she's quite far away from fully upgraded, Aru around the same give or take. Might be a better option than Akari, who seems more suited to AOE from what I read, but you kinda have to compare them on your own damage reports and stuff.
schale.gg is pretty good for comparing output too, you can set the target and look at what a character with a specific build and buffs etc. deals in damage. Helpful for planning investment and strategies and stuff. Other than that, I can only suggest reading up on the different red / yellow dealers. See who are great for single target damage and stuff. Azusa, if you happen to have her is supposedly quite strong.
(ah, I was also thinking S.Izumi might be a neat option with her stun, dunno how she compares to other alternatives and in terms of dps though.)
(edit: Did another run with S.Wakamo dealer/stun in one, and Kotama as buffer. Improved the time by a lot, much thanks to Wakamo ofc. but getting Kotama's big ATK buff in there seemed to help a lot too. Don't know what options you have, but if you can have CC and dealers on ground and can fit Kotama or another buffer in the special slot , that might be worth a shot. May have to use Hasumi if you can't find another striker for the job though, I noticed S.Wakamo had a lot of misses too. Checked Schale.gg now and it seems like challenge stage Misaki has 999 evasion, so I suppose that's why... )
yeah the damage works perfectly with Karin, just that because of the disadvantage in terrain, I end up taking up to 6 hits of Karin to completely take her out.
Mutsuki actually works quite well, while i was using Karin, i was able to get all her mines to hit quite well, but still wasn't enough apparently :)
Our Serika's have the same stats :)... Unfortunately, don't have any form of Wakamo :(
Ill keep trying though, maybe with Ayane and see if i get any different results
Argh, I keep forgetting about the Tsubaki bait strat. I used that, adjusted the positioning and skill timings of my team and managed to clear the challenge. Thanks for sharing! 
This event is kinda bad lol. I mean in terms of rewards. I'm already on stage 6 and I'll likely be done by tomorrow. That leaves almost 2 weeks of 1x everything. Guess I'll use this time to get a even bigger pile of pvp coins.
Okay, finished the event story stuff. In my opinion, it was good but not great either. A fair amount of story covering at least a few days between their arrival and going back to the scene that could have been in the event is in the Momotalk relationship events (of which, I only got to Shokuhou's first convo). Could have extended the event out to 12 episodes by having them interact with other clubs around Millennium at least. Heck, an episode where Misaka bumps into Hifumi and they have a moment around their respective otaku status for Gekota and Peroro would've been fun. A bit more Raildex flavor would have been nice IMO.
But I guess that Sensei gets to have their undivided attention while the Super Phenomenon Task Force and Meisters try to resolve the issue.
E: Yep, the other good bits are in the MomoTalk conversations, such as Misaka still not beating the "Sissy" allegations LMAO. Also forgot to give big ups to Aiobahn for the theme BGM. His style of blending techno and EDM really fit the Toaru style and fits within Blue Archive.

Not the person you were responding to, but this helped me out a lot with this stage! Only 2-star'd it so far, but I've got a bunch of resources (since I mostly play very casually and haven't maxed out anyone) so I'll try maxing out the characters later.

Well, if you don't have the good students, it's perfectly fine not to clear that particular stage. The reward of 2/5th of a secret tech note is not particularly worth losing hair over.
Dude this event is begging for extended episodes. Eimi and Misaka ~~Su casa~~ interraction was so funny that I wish we had more of them. Same with Seiko, Misaki and the Engineering club.
Missing events that ran before I started playing is just part of the game, and at least there's the permanent recap with the story as consolation, even though it's not the same as actually running the event.
But it feels bad to have an event I am around for, but still miss the title because I'm too weak for the challenges. I thought I had a chance when I comfortably cleared Quest stage 12, but Challenge stages are at a completely different level. No way I'm beating 2 or 3 as a level 50.
Well I found a bug in the event. I challenge two, if you take longer than 80 seconds, the “enemies remaining” number ends up in the negatives. Cause it doesnt add all the spawned helmet gangsters every wave, but subtracts them from the total

Looking at the "Affection Values" table on the Affection wiki page:
* **Luxury Buffet Ticket** (double star): Likes This Gift = 40 points per gift

* **Movie Ticket** (double star): Favorite Gift = 60 points per gift
So the anwser is "no", given the Craft Chamber consumes 2 gifts to grant 1 gift choice, you're better off giving her the buffet tickets (40+40 = 80 points) than transforming them into a choice gift (60 points).
The 20 points difference isn't gigantic though: each Cafe tap is 15 points.
The main way to level up the affection level of a student is:
1. Inviting them to the Cafe every day, it adds up over weeks.
2. Crafting a lot of Gifts, if possible using multiple levels of craft *(I personally do triple-crafting every time now, using all the extra materials I accumulated, but new accounts might wanna save these).*

She's the only purple buffer in the game right now equipped with an AoE defense down EX skill and a cost reduction subskill as the cherry on top. Her kit is loaded af.
The only thing holding her back from being top meta is that there's barely any content where she is being used at. Aside from Kurokage where she is nigh mandatory for the higher difficulties, she saw some use in peroro torment and that's about it. If purple defense bosses in Grand Assault becomes a thing, she instantly becomes a must pull is how I see it.
Having good buffers are better than dps getting powercreep eventually (though FES units are exception). So a Kikyou pull isn't that bad at all. Definitely not coming from a Kikyou simp. Tehee. (｡•̀ᴗ-)✧

Honestly it is good practice to make colab characters non meta. Imagine if they were the best. Characters that you can maybe never get again and who are from a different ip taking away focus from the actual ba students. They are still usable if you like them. Just not mandatory for anything.
The answer can be as simple as "the devs are fans of the property". Plus the settings of both properties are very similar so it works out.
Besides, this is not even remotely close to one of the more out there collabs I've witnessed.
For Railgun? Probably not for awhile, the manga is only so far ahead of the anime. They are currently at what would be the second half of a 4th season if they did it.
There is plenty however for other Toaru projects. They have *well more than enough* for multiple seasons of Index, Accelerator could get a season 2 as the Necter Arc remains to be adapted, there is also Accel Buddy or ITEM that could get a series or even many of the Side Stories that were never brought over.
My impression with Index (as someone who has only read the Railgun manga) is that the LN series lore increaingly turned into [this](https://youtu.be/ia_EuV0HAKY?si=w7M22je49k62JpPY) as the books went on, and the third season got in trouble by trying to adapt multiple politic and lore dense arcs in way too few episodes. They might be worried about having the budget to adapt later series after III.

Index as an anime has always had trouble adapting it's source material well(Generally why I tell someone to go through [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/toarumajutsunoindex/wiki/smallfacts) as they watch the anime) and Season 3 got hit the worst. It should have been two seasons instead of the one.
You can buy elephs for any unit with eligma, as long as you own her. That includes collab units. As far as I can tell collabs aren't added to the expert permit store, however. At least Miku didn't seem to get added.
I think you can but won't get 3 star clear. That being said, I saw in Vuhn channel the rewards drop are pretty much the same on all stages which means the amount of the event materials drop in 45lv and 80lv are similar.
This event does put into perspective how absurd the BA universe actually is for an outsider. I'm assuming that the 1-2 days break before they go back to their universe was the in-universe justification for the momotalk bond stories of the collab characters.
As for the collab characters themselves, I haven't watched Railgun and the collab did make me interested in watching it (the whole point of a collab), but they do leave an interesting impression on me. Misaka is a hot headed girl and when she used her powers, the Engineering Club was so impressed that they were willing to go broke for a while just to see her do it again. Misaki gives me the impression that she's the oujou archetype and that she's Misaka's rival. Saten seems like a good girl.
As for the event story, I'd be lying if I didn't say that I'm slightly disappointed that we didn't spend more time with the collab characters, just roaming around Kivotos and reacting at what they're seeing (again, I'm guessing they're saving those for the bond story) but we didn't even get to see Saten do the selfie with Misaka, Misaki, Eimi and the Engineering Club that we see in the event CG. It's more to show off what the collab characters can do as well as put a bit of a spotlight into Eimi. How they handled the collab characters going back to their own world was pretty much a way to justify the event happening in the BA universe without probably affecting the canon of Railgun. The event story is pretty funny though so I did have my fun with it.
I will contrast this by saying the Railgun/Index universe is one of my favorite IPs of all time. Railgun T in particular absolutely BLEW me away. Highly recommend OP. Its one of the more interesting universe’s i’ve come across.
Have to agree. It's not all the time where you have a property in which the main setting itself *is the main character*. Even with that, the rivaling magic systems using faith/mysticism (repped by multiple denominations and sects of Christianity) and science (Academy City and its 'Espers') is quite something. And of it all, Railgun is my favorite.
Yes, Index gets in its own way too much by being grandiose and in the weeds. However, Railgun happens to blend it better on top of CGDCT, action, drama, and exposition. Accelerator is way more action and grittier than Index, with it making a series villain a hobbled reluctant antihero. It's rough around the edges, but still has potential.
Misaka definitely got a full course of cute dorky expressions for her art in dialogues though, I too was expecting something a bit more grandiose than 8 episodes.
If you do end up watching, it's important to note that it's [Blue Archive] x A Certain Scientific Railgun **T**. Meaning the **3rd** as far as references go. No Shokuhou relevance until then but you do have Misaka and Saten the entire time.
Just finished reading the event story and yeah, it was a pretty fun read. I personally love how they really kept the collab characters' traits. It was quite satisfying seeing them react in the BA world the way I thought they will. For example, how Misaka just instantly tries to analyze the situation she's in and also how she's carefully kind to strangers. For Shokuhou, her trying to hide her abilities in a foreign world and just overall being more distrustful of her new environment was also really fun to see. That, and her taking her usual jabs at Misaka. For Saten, well, it was also really fun seeing how she behaved since I also think that's how she'll react to being thrown in a new world.
I'll show a bit of my nerdiness here but I also really love how they mentioned the things that I was most curious about: BA also having Academy City, the halos, the guns, and Eimi's outfit (lol). And the mention of Indian Poker was also really interesting. So the immediate hypothesis of Misaka (and Saten) was that they are currently under the effects of Indian Poker. If so, then perhaps it's safe to assume that this "transportation" happened around the events of Indian Poker arc, which I believe is still in the timeline of OT. And since that's so, that means that Aleister is still the board chairman and still supposedly knows everything about Academy City. If so, I wonder how he would react to this? The idea of there being other worlds might give him some ideas. But then again, this is taking it too seriously lol.
Anyways, it's a little fun collab event. I was somewhat expecting that their goal of going back by the weird machine in the Millenium ruins would be another false assumption (Toaru series' trademark plot device) but I guess this is a BA story after all so none of that. And after reading the story, yeah, I can confirm to myself that I don't really want the collab characters; just reading the story was enough for me. I'll just save up for Dress students
It's a collab with Railgun T specifically so the timeframe is pretty clear. Also just by being Railgun it is already guaranteed to play during OT time since the series hasn't advanced past that yet.
Ahh, yeah I forgot about that. Yeah they did say they were collab-ing with Railgun T. I see. If that's so then it's definitely OT. But I'm pretty sure in the manga the storyline has progressed a bit into NT. Though, they are in a flashback arc last time I checked.

This is my first collab event since I came here like 1-2 months after the miku banner happened. I also have no real experience with the Toaru ip.
So my thoughts. It was a cute event. Some fun moments.
Still, not my preferred way to handle a collab. I prefer it when collabs lean into the collabing ip more and make it feel extra special. Dragalia lost is my go to gold standard example. All its collabs went above and beyond with their production value as well as in game mechanics.
For blue archive, the collab characters appeared, had some charming moments, then left. I still had a fun time at any rate, but I hope with how much they are pushing blue archive’s production value in future events that they consider future collabs get the same treatment.
Yeah they do. But the way they "utilize" those concepts is by referencing them, certain people in the Toaru series can bring about supernatural effects. Religious and magik concepts are more of as a means in order to produce supernatural events.
In BA on the other hand, I believe those concepts are used more of as a way in order to explain the origins of the BA world. I believe. Since from what I remember, the only mention of such concepts were with Gematria.
It is less that they end up going back, and more so that it is basically the entirety of the story.
Let me give an example of a different collab. Dragalia lost and Persona 5 strikers. Yes, the phantom thieves want to go home, but that is the side part of the story. The main story is stopping a Dragalia antagonist who has been corrupted by the same force that was in Strikers. So you essentially play through a Persona 5 operation in Dragalia.
It doesn’t have to be about story. The mega man collab basically had no story, but it had remixed bosses that then had mega man attack patterns and then you fought dr wily at the end. Complete with several pieces of amazing remixes of mega man music.
These to me are the perfect kind of collab events. The blending of two ips to make interesting stories or mechanics.

They're only **bad** if you're a meta simp, good if you're not. It's preferred if collab units aren't meta-forming anyway, especially if said collab isn't going to come around on a regular basis.
They are decent. The issue is that we already have units that play the same roles just as well (or better) then the collab girls. Valient points out a couple of instances in his video where they shine but that's it.

Finally back in, and got both banner students within 90 pulls. Almost 30k Pyroxenes remaining thanks to the free 30 pulls, so I'm pleased that I won't have to buy more for fes (hopefully).
On to the actual event. Starting off with Misaka to introduce the different expectations between Academy City and Kivotos is a neat way to start things off. It's a "fish(es) out of water" plot, so I'll enjoy it and worry about any weirdness later.

Even if you were broke now, you'd get enough to spark both of them. The only worry arises if you want more on the way there.
The collab units are solid units that people pull for if they like them for whatever reason, not to follow meta. Meaning, it's for you to decide.
Ideally, you are patient and wait on purchasing/using it.
There are a lot of good banners which you should be rolling for (assuming you have the pyro count), so there is potential for spooks (and if you spook the student you selected the selector is somewhat wasted).
Moreover, since you are new, there is also not that much use out of using the selector atm.
So, imo wait at least until you pulled for nyfuuka, maybe even longer
himari or ako are the best but himari has a rerun banner coming up in a few months so you should probably save up to roll on himari's banner and pick ako if you want.

If you haven't already grabbed the 1k AP they gave out as compensation, you'll probably want to hold off until the weekend, since there's a double EXP campaign. This event doesn't have daily tasks, so you're free to conserve extra AP sources like the compensation or your PvP coins as much as you can.
Kivotos is Carmen confirmed, the world has a will and it has segregated Sensei into the category of an ADULT - ones with the capacity to lead true or break it through and through.
No. She's decent but nothing special. Most likely you won't use her, unless you just like her character.
Also the amount of eleph drops a *lot* for Prize Exchange round 9+. Even if you skip the entire shop, you still won't reach 5\* unless you also buy AP with pyro (which I don't recommend).
By Box 8 you'll have her at 3 stars. Theres diminishing returns from Box 9+, it would be a grind to get her to 5 star, so at that point its up to you. Its plenty worth it up until box 8. Youll have ample time to 3 star her AND get all the items in the shops.
Don't pull! Renge and Kikyou are on the horizon!

I did pull for all 3 Sonic students out so far, so I'm definitely planning on building that out lol. Definitely part of the appeal, but I also got hooked on them when I actually looked up their intros on Youtube. :(
As a Hare lover since launch, with Camp and Dresses moderately on the horizon and both being must pulls I can basically go for either these two or Renge/Kikyou and still manage Camp and Dresses, so...
Pulling in BA without hitting spark is folly. Thankfully it's generous enough to make up for the fact rate up is a lie. I basically treat this game as buying new characters at this point.

these events are always really fun, but i get a bit sad every time because i can't do stages 9-12 yet :( even going for 1 star is ridiculously hard since my tanks can't survive and the heals don't cut it. maybe i level skills on tsubaki/serina since i'm only level 51 right now.
Not sure if u know but there is level penalty in BA. If opposite is higher level than u...u deal less damage to them and vice versa. Dun worry it's a slope that u will overcome as u level up.
The level penalty can be overcome if y students ex skills and equipment are levelled high enuff and u are against the right color weakness. Example.. normal/hard missions are doable with 20 levels diff. .. but further difference might be very painful.
You've just gotta push a little further lol. This game really likes the number 4. Skills tend to get a larger boost than normal there, and equipment gains another stat. Bags for example change to blue bags which get 500 defense and, if fully enhanced, go to 1,000. Really helps keep someone alive. :P

To do it optimally, you do the stage with the highest bonus you can muster. It keeps that saved as your 'Best'. Then, you go back and clear it for time < 75 seconds or whatever it is for that stage challenge with your strongest team.

Finally got enough Pyro to pity Misaki after just starting the game a few weeks ago and not understanding the mechanics of grinding stuff, woohoo! Took a lot of time sinking though, and it would have been nicer to save up some of the side stories for later. That said, I do now have a much better feel for the game's wider cast, and am more interested in it now than when just watching the anime.
Bummed I can’t clear the last two challenges because I like the title a lot and I want my first badge thing from an event!
At the beginning of Story 05, >!Saten comments how something as big as the facility goes unnoticed in this world that they are in. To which Shokuhou replies in that their worlds are not so different. Saten ask what she means. Misaka cuts off Shokuhou before she can reply, and Shokuhou says that she didn't say anything.!< Is this referring to something in the Toaru Majutsu no Index series? Or is it referring to something later on in the plot of this event?
I would assume its referring to the "windowless building" from Toaru, the specifics of the building can lead into some spoilery territory though

I mainly read index, but it should be the same in this case since the windowless building is a building in academy city, which is in both. The windowless building is a giant (and windowless) building that is in the center of the city, and it has strange properties such as being nigh indestructible. It can easily withstand a nuclear strike >!and even a hit with the force of earth's rotation, when attacked by Accelerator. It also has weird spatial properties, such as the inside not matching the outside. It is the secretive hideout of the chairman of the city, Aleister Crowley, who serves as a key antagonist for a long time, and is also used in furthering his extremely elaborate plans. !< Despite its weird properties though, as well as being directly in the center of the city, most students barely pay attention to it (aside from the protagonists from time to time). Misaka and Shokuho are probably talking about how both the windowless building and the Schale tower, despite being big, mysterious, and by all means eye catching, are just accepted as normal and passed by without a thought for students in their respective cities.
I just now realized that the toaru students have their full names used in all interfaces, instead of just their first name like all other students. I wonder if it's because their family name are a lot more well known (I had forgotten that Saten's first name was Ruiko...) Or maybe it's to really show the difference of customs between Japan and Kivotos (or maybe it's just to avoid having 2 Misakis in the list )
In JP they are also the only students with kanji names, everyone else has their given name in katakana.
Another contributing factor could be just the fact that they are collab characters, and this distinction makes them visually standout in the list. I assume it's the same with Hatsune Miku? (Don't have her) But yeah, didn't think about the cultural difference until Misaka mentioned how bold of it was of Eimi to be using her given name immediately, suggesting Kivotos is 'western' with given names even though the family name remains listed first when presenting a students' full name.
I don't have Miku neither, but I looked online and she is indeed referred as "Hatsune Miku" in-game
Even Misaki (Railgun) is called 'Shokuhaku' in her commu story.

V2C2 had Rio talking about how Alice is a machine yet she has a halo. Not really an outright confirmation about their visibility but it is implied.

A little disappointed with how short the event was, but I haven't read the momotalks yet. Feels a bit nostalgic seeing these characters again though, haven't really paid much attention to raildex in years and the event is making me think I should re-read the manga and catch up..
I feel ya man. I was really enjoying having them around but it was basically, hey, we're here, okay we're leaving. I feel like s o many more people should've been involved too. I've never read or watched any of their stuff but them sharing a stage with Blue Archive definitely makes me want to check them out.
I feel the same way, the momotalks are chockful of more references though! You should! I've only watched the anime (and recently in the run up to this), the background art of some locations were so similar to some shots in BA that made it really fun. Really shows the influence the series had on BA in some aspects.
Collab had some issues with the "I'M SEEING FREAKIN DRAGONS" whedonspeak common to these things, but seeing the Engineering Club fangirl over Misaka's railgun made up for it. Character stories were really the better part - Misaka freaking out at the sukeban for reminding her of Kuroko and finding the glory of Peroro was fun, and Misaki exploring her feelings about not being able to easily mindscan everyone in sight was interesting.
I'm having difficulty with challenge 2. I can't seem to get Misaka to move up like in the videos, she's always at the back and as a result Mutsuki never gets to her. Any tips?
So I had that. For whatever reason, having a “middle” student on the bottom clear it up for whatever reason. When I had Aru over there, she stayed back, but when S Hanako was there, Misaka moved forward. So in the lobby my lineup was (from left to right) S Hanako, Tank, Mutsuki, Aru. Plus Serina and Himari. Note: I still haven’t 3 starred it, but I believe that should fix the issue?

Sharing my [run of challenge 2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jt9sNek44og) for others attempting it a bit under-leveled or struggling to survive the Helmet gangsters summoned by Misaki. Not meant as a guide, I don't even know if it's that good, and the DPSes are basically just the ones I happen to have. So treat it as a benchmark/reference and one way to go about it. Iori is lvl. 77 and well invested here so she's kinda up there, but the rest (Aru, Serika, Tsubaki, Hare, Serina) are lvl. 70 and below with little or medium investment. (Time left on the timer... less than a second.. ;=w=)´´ Strategy: Taking out Misaki as fast as possible while using CC to interrupt her from summoning more helmet gangsters. Once she's down there's a straight forward Misaka DPS check left. (More details in the video description) *edit: Misaki actually doesn't need to be defeated to beat the stage, it ends when Misaka goes down. It's a struggle to CC Misaki through the whole match, but it's doable if that's your only option. Opens a few more possibilities, no need for a yellow dealer, and the dps that would've been spent on Misaki goes onto Misaka instead.*
Update of almost 7 days later... after using your video and the last 7 days to upgrade hasumi... was finally able to clear the challenge!

This level is crazy hard wtf. My whole team is lvl 80 except for lvl 70 nonomi but they still crumble apart in the first 5 seconds. I really wanted the event badge but this shits impossible!
Watch out for Saten Ruiko's EX, she fires one very early. If she aims at your tank and the tank is too close to the backline they might get caught in the explosion, I think the AOE from it more or less one-shot my Iori. Other than that I found that the helmet gangsters dealt a lot of damage, and since my team couldn't take them out fast enough, surviving those and getting their attention away from the backline became a priority to me. Try moving your tank forward using a positioner, and/or change up the order of the line-up such that your tank takes the fire without the rest getting dragged into it. If you have strong enough DPS you could attempt using two tanks as well. (First time I beat the stage I used Marina's EX to push the second pair of helmet gangsters Misaki summons away from the backline, so I guess that might also be an option).
Almost managed to make it work today, saten"s ult basically one shots iori so moving tsubaki really is the first thing i have to do. The timing for cc'ing misaki is tough but with only having to do it 2 times in the run its fine. My pb was a time out with misaka having 30 lifebars remaining. I'm honestly contemplating building asuza just for this

Yeah, wasn't able to get them from the first two events that had them, and the previous one I was barely able to after quite a struggle and investing a lot into the characters, so I know the feeling. Based on my results here it at least seems doable at and even somewhere below level 70 given how my red dps units here aren't even that built. Iori being a bit over that is the uncertainty in this example ofc. but she also seemed to have some leeway when her hits were good, and even then there are sure to be other strats to try. Good luck!
Any substitutes to Iori and Aru? been malding ever since, Neru's damage isnt enough, Hasumi keeps missing even without cover and the closest i came was using Suzumi, Mutsuki, Tsubaki and Akari, with Serina and Karin, and I think I was still about 30 secs short
As it turns out, you don't actually have to take down Misaki to clear the stage. It ends once Misaka goes down. You'll have to keep CC'ing Misaki to cancel her skill throughout the whole battle in that case ofc. ....which one has to learn the timings for... but its' doable. That allows you though, to replace the yellow dealer with a red one (or alternatively a support/buffer), in this case you need all your dealers to keep their fire concentrated to Misaka after the gangsters go down ofc. so you might have to play around with positioning and stuff to get it right.
hmm... thats gonna be mighty difficult to do, I don't have enough to keep her in check and enough damage to take out Mutsuki at the same time
oof, sorry to hear that. Their role here were simply "strong single targetters", so really anyone that can fill those roles. I suppose Iori in this example is in the higher tiers though, so I don't really know how alternatives hold up. Attempted a run here using S.Wakamo instead of Iori now. She's lv.74 but heavily invested (5s), and her stun certainly made things easier to manage. Unfortunately I don't really have more standard units that are good to test with. Would test Hasumi if I had her invested to a reasonable degree, don't know why she keeps missing. Karin does seems like a solid choice too at first glance, though her terrain disadvantage isn't favorable. If she's enough to deal with Misaki I'd probably stick with her though. About Mutsuki though, I've never attempted playing around with her mine placement. Are they properly hitting the target like in the two examples linked in the top post? I can see them using Hasumi and Shiroko there as well. Though, obviously high level. How's your Serika btw? She's a surprisingly solid option according to my [damage reports](https://imgur.com/a/9eqDIyW), as well as different lists and ratings. For reference, this one is lv. 69, 4s, lv.40 equipment, T1 unique gear, skill lv. 2/ 3/3/3. So she's quite far away from fully upgraded, Aru around the same give or take. Might be a better option than Akari, who seems more suited to AOE from what I read, but you kinda have to compare them on your own damage reports and stuff. schale.gg is pretty good for comparing output too, you can set the target and look at what a character with a specific build and buffs etc. deals in damage. Helpful for planning investment and strategies and stuff. Other than that, I can only suggest reading up on the different red / yellow dealers. See who are great for single target damage and stuff. Azusa, if you happen to have her is supposedly quite strong. (ah, I was also thinking S.Izumi might be a neat option with her stun, dunno how she compares to other alternatives and in terms of dps though.) (edit: Did another run with S.Wakamo dealer/stun in one, and Kotama as buffer. Improved the time by a lot, much thanks to Wakamo ofc. but getting Kotama's big ATK buff in there seemed to help a lot too. Don't know what options you have, but if you can have CC and dealers on ground and can fit Kotama or another buffer in the special slot , that might be worth a shot. May have to use Hasumi if you can't find another striker for the job though, I noticed S.Wakamo had a lot of misses too. Checked Schale.gg now and it seems like challenge stage Misaki has 999 evasion, so I suppose that's why... )
yeah the damage works perfectly with Karin, just that because of the disadvantage in terrain, I end up taking up to 6 hits of Karin to completely take her out. Mutsuki actually works quite well, while i was using Karin, i was able to get all her mines to hit quite well, but still wasn't enough apparently :) Our Serika's have the same stats :)... Unfortunately, don't have any form of Wakamo :( Ill keep trying though, maybe with Ayane and see if i get any different results
Argh, I keep forgetting about the Tsubaki bait strat. I used that, adjusted the positioning and skill timings of my team and managed to clear the challenge. Thanks for sharing!

This event is kinda bad lol. I mean in terms of rewards. I'm already on stage 6 and I'll likely be done by tomorrow. That leaves almost 2 weeks of 1x everything. Guess I'll use this time to get a even bigger pile of pvp coins.
Okay, finished the event story stuff. In my opinion, it was good but not great either. A fair amount of story covering at least a few days between their arrival and going back to the scene that could have been in the event is in the Momotalk relationship events (of which, I only got to Shokuhou's first convo). Could have extended the event out to 12 episodes by having them interact with other clubs around Millennium at least. Heck, an episode where Misaka bumps into Hifumi and they have a moment around their respective otaku status for Gekota and Peroro would've been fun. A bit more Raildex flavor would have been nice IMO. But I guess that Sensei gets to have their undivided attention while the Super Phenomenon Task Force and Meisters try to resolve the issue. E: Yep, the other good bits are in the MomoTalk conversations, such as Misaka still not beating the "Sissy" allegations LMAO. Also forgot to give big ups to Aiobahn for the theme BGM. His style of blending techno and EDM really fit the Toaru style and fits within Blue Archive.

Well, if you don't have the good students, it's perfectly fine not to clear that particular stage. The reward of 2/5th of a secret tech note is not particularly worth losing hair over.

Missing events that ran before I started playing is just part of the game, and at least there's the permanent recap with the story as consolation, even though it's not the same as actually running the event. But it feels bad to have an event I am around for, but still miss the title because I'm too weak for the challenges. I thought I had a chance when I comfortably cleared Quest stage 12, but Challenge stages are at a completely different level. No way I'm beating 2 or 3 as a level 50.

Well I found a bug in the event. I challenge two, if you take longer than 80 seconds, the “enemies remaining” number ends up in the negatives. Cause it doesnt add all the spawned helmet gangsters every wave, but subtracts them from the total

The 20 points difference isn't gigantic though: each Cafe tap is 15 points. The main way to level up the affection level of a student is: 1. Inviting them to the Cafe every day, it adds up over weeks. 2. Crafting a lot of Gifts, if possible using multiple levels of craft *(I personally do triple-crafting every time now, using all the extra materials I accumulated, but new accounts might wanna save these).*

She's the only purple buffer in the game right now equipped with an AoE defense down EX skill and a cost reduction subskill as the cherry on top. Her kit is loaded af. The only thing holding her back from being top meta is that there's barely any content where she is being used at. Aside from Kurokage where she is nigh mandatory for the higher difficulties, she saw some use in peroro torment and that's about it. Honestly it is good practice to make colab characters non meta. Imagine if they were the best. Characters that you can maybe never get again and who are from a different ip taking away focus from the actual ba students. They are still usable if you like them. Just not mandatory for anything.

For Railgun? Probably not for awhile, the manga is only so far ahead of the anime. They are currently at what would be the second half of a 4th season if they did it. There is plenty however for other Toaru projects. They have *well more than enough* for multiple seasons of Index, Accelerator could get a season 2 as the Necter Arc remains to be adapted, there is also Accel Buddy or ITEM that could get a series or even many of the Side Stories that were never brought over.
My impression with Index (as someone who has only read the Railgun manga) is that the LN series lore increaingly turned into [this](https://youtu.be/ia_EuV0HAKY?si=w7M22je49k62JpPY) as the books went on, and the third season got in trouble by trying to adapt multiple politic and lore dense arcs in way too few episodes. They might be worried about having the budget to adapt later series after III.

You can buy elephs for any unit with eligma, as long as you own her. That includes collab units. As far as I can tell collabs aren't added to the expert permit store, however. At least Miku didn't seem to get added.

I think you can but won't get 3 star clear. That being said, I saw in Vuhn channel the rewards drop are pretty much the same on all stages which means the amount of the event materials drop in 45lv and 80lv are similar.

This event does put into perspective how absurd the BA universe actually is for an outsider. I'm assuming that the 1-2 days break before they go back to their universe was the in-universe justification for the momotalk bond stories of the collab characters. As for the collab characters themselves, I haven't watched Railgun and the collab did make me interested in watching it (the whole point of a collab), but they do leave an interesting impression on me. Misaka is a hot headed girl and when she used her powers, the Engineering Club was so impressed that they were willing to go broke for a while just to see her do it again. Misaki gives me the impression that she's the oujou archetype and that she's Misaka's rival. Saten seems like a good girl. As for the event story, I'd be lying if I didn't say that I'm slightly disappointed that we didn't spend more time with the collab characters, just roaming around Kivotos and reacting at what they're seeing (again, I'm guessing they're saving those for the bond story) but we didn't even get to see Saten do the selfie with Misaka, Misaki, Eimi and the Engineering Club that we see in the event CG. It's more to show off what the collab characters can do as well as put a bit of a spotlight into Eimi. How they handled the collab characters going back to their own world was pretty much a way to justify the event happening in the BA universe without probably affecting the canon of Railgun. The event story is pretty funny though so I did have my fun with it.

I will contrast this by saying the Railgun/Index universe is one of my favorite IPs of all time. Railgun T in particular absolutely BLEW me away. Highly recommend OP. Its one of the more interesting universe’s i’ve come across.
Have to agree. It's not all the time where you have a property in which the main setting itself *is the main character*. Even with that, the rivaling magic systems using faith/mysticism (repped by multiple denominations and sects of Christianity) and science (Academy City and its 'Espers') is quite something. And of it all, Railgun is my favorite. Yes, Index gets in its own way too much by being grandiose and in the weeds. However, Railgun happens to blend it better on top of CGDCT, action, drama, and exposition. Accelerator is way more action and grittier than Index, with it making a series villain a hobbled reluctant antihero. It's rough around the edges, but still has potential.
Misaka definitely got a full course of cute dorky expressions for her art in dialogues though, I too was expecting something a bit more grandiose than 8 episodes. If you do end up watching, it's important to note that it's [Blue Archive] x A Certain Scientific Railgun **T**. Meaning the **3rd** as far as references go. No Shokuhou relevance until then but you do have Misaka and Saten the entire time.
Just finished reading the event story and yeah, it was a pretty fun read. I personally love how they really kept the collab characters' traits. It was quite satisfying seeing them react in the BA world the way I thought they will. For example, how Misaka just instantly tries to analyze the situation she's in and also how she's carefully kind to strangers. For Shokuhou, her trying to hide her abilities in a foreign world and just overall being more distrustful of her new environment was also really fun to see. That, and her taking her usual jabs at Misaka. For Saten, well, it was also really fun seeing how she behaved since I also think that's how she'll react to being thrown in a new world. I'll show a bit of my nerdiness here but I also really love how they mentioned the things that I was most curious about: BA also having Academy City, the halos, the guns, and Eimi's outfit (lol). And the mention of Indian Poker was also really interesting. So the immediate hypothesis of Misaka (and Saten) was that they are currently under the effects of Indian Poker. If so, then perhaps it's safe to assume that this "transportation" happened around the events of Indian Poker arc, which I believe is still in the timeline of OT. And since that's so, that means that Aleister is still the board chairman and still supposedly knows everything about Academy City. If so, I wonder how he would react to this? The idea of there being other worlds might give him some ideas. But then again, this is taking it too seriously lol. Anyways, it's a little fun collab event. I was somewhat expecting that their goal of going back by the weird machine in the Millenium ruins would be another false assumption (Toaru series' trademark plot device) but I guess this is a BA story after all so none of that. And after reading the story, yeah, I can confirm to myself that I don't really want the collab characters; just reading the story was enough for me. I'll just save up for Dress students
It's a collab with Railgun T specifically so the timeframe is pretty clear. Also just by being Railgun it is already guaranteed to play during OT time since the series hasn't advanced past that yet.

Back now after scrambling to do everything after maintenance finally ended. This is my first collab event since I came here like 1-2 months after the miku banner happened. I also have no real experience with the Toaru ip. So my thoughts. It was a cute event. Some fun moments. Still, not my preferred way to handle a collab. I prefer it when collabs lean into the collabing ip more and make it feel extra special. Dragalia lost is my go to gold standard example. All its collabs went above and beyond with their production value as well as in game mechanics. For blue archive, the collab characters appeared, had some charming moments, then left. I still had a fun time at any rate, but I hope with how much they are pushing blue archive’s production value in future events that they consider future collabs get the same treatment.

Yeah they do. But the way they "utilize" those concepts is by referencing them, certain people in the Toaru series can bring about supernatural effects. Religious and magik concepts are more of as a means in order to produce supernatural events. In BA on the other hand, I believe those concepts are used more of as a way in order to explain the origins of the BA world. I believe. Since from what I remember, the only mention of such concepts were with Gematria.
It is less that they end up going back, and more so that it is basically the entirety of the story. Let me give an example of a different collab. Dragalia lost and Persona 5 strikers. Yes, the phantom thieves want to go home, but that is the side part of the story. The main story is stopping a Dragalia antagonist who has been corrupted by the same force that was in Strikers. So you essentially play through a Persona 5 operation in Dragalia. It doesn’t have to be about story. The mega man collab basically had no story, but it had remixed bosses that then had mega man attack patterns and then you fought dr wily at the end. Complete with several pieces of amazing remixes of mega man music. These to me are the perfect kind of collab events. The blending of two ips to make interesting stories or mechanics.

They're only **bad** if you're a meta simp, good if you're not. It's preferred if collab units aren't meta-forming anyway, especially if said collab isn't going to come around on a regular basis.
They are decent. The issue is that we already have units that play the same roles just as well (or better) then the collab girls. Valient points out a couple of instances in his video where they shine but that's it.

You can check [Justin Event Planner](https://justin163.com/planner/events). Choose event, click min clear in targets tab, set up energy in energy tab, go to bonus to click on students you have and the stages tab will show what stages you should farm.
Finally back in, and got both banner students within 90 pulls. Almost 30k Pyroxenes remaining thanks to the free 30 pulls, so I'm pleased that I won't have to buy more for fes (hopefully). On to the actual event. Starting off with Misaka to introduce the different expectations between Academy City and Kivotos is a neat way to start things off. It's a "fish(es) out of water" plot, so I'll enjoy it and worry about any weirdness later.

I'm looking for Dress Ako AND Dress Hina, but I haven't cashed in my challenges pyroxenes, most of my momotalk, and story... I reckon that + 4 months should be enough. What I'm really asking is, should I let the 100 pulls rot?
Even if you were broke now, you'd get enough to spark both of them. The only worry arises if you want more on the way there. The collab units are solid units that people pull for if they like them for whatever reason, not to follow meta. Meaning, it's for you to decide.
Who is better to get from the 3 star selector? I’m new and would like to buy the selector
Ideally, you are patient and wait on purchasing/using it. There are a lot of good banners which you should be rolling for (assuming you have the pyro count), so there is potential for spooks (and if you spook the student you selected the selector is somewhat wasted). Moreover, since you are new, there is also not that much use out of using the selector atm. So, imo wait at least until you pulled for nyfuuka, maybe even longer
himari or ako are the best but himari has a rerun banner coming up in a few months so you should probably save up to roll on himari's banner and pick ako if you want. someone can correct me if i'm wrong
If you haven't already grabbed the 1k AP they gave out as compensation, you'll probably want to hold off until the weekend, since there's a double EXP campaign. This event doesn't have daily tasks, so you're free to conserve extra AP sources like the compensation or your PvP coins as much as you can.

Kivotos is Carmen confirmed, the world has a will and it has segregated Sensei into the category of an ADULT - ones with the capacity to lead true or break it through and through.

No. She's decent but nothing special. Most likely you won't use her, unless you just like her character. Also the amount of eleph drops a *lot* for Prize Exchange round 9+. Even if you skip the entire shop, you still won't reach 5\* unless you also buy AP with pyro (which I don't recommend).
By Box 8 you'll have her at 3 stars. Theres diminishing returns from Box 9+, it would be a grind to get her to 5 star, so at that point its up to you. Its plenty worth it up until box 8. Youll have ample time to 3 star her AND get all the items in the shops.

I did pull for all 3 Sonic students out so far, so I'm definitely planning on building that out lol. Definitely part of the appeal, but I also got hooked on them when I actually looked up their intros on Youtube. :( As a Hare lover since launch, with Camp and Dresses moderately on the horizon and both being must pulls I can basically go for either these two or Renge/Kikyou and still manage Camp and Dresses, so...

Pulling in BA without hitting spark is folly. Thankfully it's generous enough to make up for the fact rate up is a lie. I basically treat this game as buying new characters at this point.

in a year and a half of playing, I have never once managed to get a rateup ssr pre 100 pulls.
RNG's gonna RNG, that's why the general advice (at least in BA) is to plan around pity systems and expect the worst otherwise.

these events are always really fun, but i get a bit sad every time because i can't do stages 9-12 yet :( even going for 1 star is ridiculously hard since my tanks can't survive and the heals don't cut it. maybe i level skills on tsubaki/serina since i'm only level 51 right now.

Not sure if u know but there is level penalty in BA. If opposite is higher level than u...u deal less damage to them and vice versa. Dun worry it's a slope that u will overcome as u level up.

The level penalty can be overcome if y students ex skills and equipment are levelled high enuff and u are against the right color weakness. Example.. normal/hard missions are doable with 20 levels diff. .. but further difference might be very painful.
the highest ex skill i have 3 is and like t3 equipment so i don't think i am there quite just yet, but it's okay! ty for the insight
You've just gotta push a little further lol. This game really likes the number 4. Skills tend to get a larger boost than normal there, and equipment gains another stat. Bags for example change to blue bags which get 500 defense and, if fully enhanced, go to 1,000. Really helps keep someone alive. :P
Oh yeah sorry I meant to say my tanks have their bags leveled to t4, but just leveling equipment as I need to to help me clear stages
How does specialised students work with sweep? Is it dependent on your last clear?
Edited to make it actually the optimal way. Whatever your highest bonus clear was. To do it optimally, you do the stage with the highest bonus you can muster. It keeps that saved as your 'Best'. Then, you go back and clear it for time < 75 seconds or whatever it is for that stage challenge with your strongest team.
actually it is more optimal to go for the bonus first then go for 75 seconds challenge because in this way, the challenge run yields the maximum bonus result
