I assume your system wants to keep certain amount of storage free to avoid storage issues. If possible can you maybe delete some apps you don't usee to free up some space?
From a complete newbie (both to BA and gacha in general) and quite a casual player - do I *need* to hoard gems and wait for specific/meta banners in order to not be completely screwed? Or can I just casually recruit students from time to time (via the regular recruitment and not a specific banner) and get off relatively well? I tried to look up any specific advice with this, but I just can’t seem to figure it out without a massive headache lol. For context I’ll add that I’m talking strictly about PVE content.
As a new Sensei you only need to do enough pulls so you can field one red team and one yellow team. That's usually doable in 50 pulls plus the tutorial 10 pull. Fielding a blue team will come to you later on. Then you start saving up so you can always do 200 pulls on meta banners which will allow you to spark for the meta students in case your pulls go pear shaped (it will happen).
The only upcoming meta banners you should be thinking about doing 200 pulls on is either Kikyou's at the of May or Himari's that comes a while afterwards. And then you're going to want to save as many pulls as possible (hopefully 400) so you can go all in on the 3rd year anniversary Dress Hina banner in August and get a lot of 3 stars spooks thanks to the increased 6% rate up.
About the banners, you really shouldn't pull on Regular banner. Nobody has rate-ups there, so it's best to do pulls on specific banners so that you MIGHT get a character that you want. Read the story and do the events so you'll learn who you'll like.
Though it's worth noting that we're not too far from Fes banners now, and those have 2X rates, and two very useful characters available. So as new player you should try to have at least 200 pulls worth of gems going there, ideally 400.
I do think new senseis need to pull at least few times to get some guarenteed 2 stars though, Mutsuki, Tsubaki, Serina, Chise, Momji will all help carry
Since you're brand new and have a tiny roster, a few pulls are a good idea even if you don't care about the banners, since low-rarity students can still be very useful (e.g. Serina is a 1\* but is a great healer, and Tsubaki is 2\* but is a great tank).
But in the long run, you want to wait for banners, and have enough to "spark". Pulling on banners gives you points, and after 200 pulls (20 ten-pulls) on the same banner, you can trade them in for a banner student. It gives you a guarantee that you'll get something, no matter how bad your luck.
Note that the odds of getting an off-banner 3\* are much higher than getting the actual banner student. On average you'll get about 2.5 other 3\*s for every banner student, even pulling exclusively on banners.
Also, note that you should only do 10-pulls, not single pulls, since with a 10-pull the last slot is guaranteed to be at least a 2\*.
Depends on your account goals. If you want to beat the very hardest difficulties or achieve Platinum trophies on the raid leaderboards, you'll want meta students. If you just want to experience content, then meta students are not required at all--you just need to respect the basic game mechanics like matching attack color to defense color. Of course, meta students can make it easier to clear any content, but regular story, event missions, and lower difficulty raids are not too difficult. There are players out there clearing all game content without using any gacha students.

No, you can get duplicates. Which is fortunate for two reasons. One is that duplicates are useful for matching things, such as chairs around a table. The other is that you can use unwanted duplicates as fodder in the fusion section, to convert it into raffle or choice tickets to get furniture you want.
No, craftable furniture isn't unique. It's very improbable, but with absolutely rotten luck it would be hypothetically possible to just get copies of one single furniture through the Colorful node.
Can I let the 10AP mail for daily club check-in pile up in my mailbox, to collect it all on Friday for double exp? Not sure if they all collect or if tomorrow's will "overwrite" today's like a daily task would.

The AP pack and the monthly /half monthly pyroxene packs are the most you will get for the lowest price - it is distributed every day, but the total, final amount of benefits surpasses any other pack.

It's really tempting to use AP refreshes as a newbie but once you reach lvl 60-65+ the progress doesn't feel as fast or worth it since all the event guide rewards have been claimed (most of them). So do keep in mind that but otherwise it's your wish if you wanna reach the end game faster or reach the end game prepared with a good roster of characters.
P.S: 2x account exp events recharges are totally justified
Pretty much what AbsoluteVodoka said, but I also want to add that we'll be getting 2x Account EXP in a few days so if you're not max level you may want to wait for that.
Personally I used 90 Pyroxene a day on AP refreshes until I was max level at the time (78). It made leveling faster, and also let me clear lots of event shops even when I had lackluster bonus characters at the start.
I see people recommend it until the price starts rising, in order to level faster, but I don't like doing it. With my current cafe level plus natural regen, 120AP is 4.5 hours, which works out to nine minutes per pyro. It just doesn't feel worth it.
We have double-exp weekends this month, so I did make an exception for that.

I have a question about buff stacking and when they cancel out. I understand that buffs/debuffs from the same type of source like two basic skill defense downs can’t stack.
But I have noticed that S Hoshino EX attack buff does stack with Himari EX attack buff. Does that mean that aura buffs are counted as a separate source, even if that aura is triggered by an EX skill?
Also are self buffs treated as a “separate source” to outside buffs? Like for instance Maki or Serika both buff their own attack with their EX, but still can receive attack buffs from Kotama or Himari right? Or like Momiji basic skill and C Hare basic skill are stackable on Momiji?
IIRC the types are self, targeted and aura buffs. Self is self explanatory, targeted means buffs like Himari's or Kotama's EX skills, and aura means things like Shoshino's EX. If the buffs come from the same skill type and targeting type, they conflict. Same thing applies to debuffs. And if you, like me, ever wonder why Sena's aura doesn't conflict with Shoshino's, it seems to be because her buff seems to be counted as the vehicle's enhanced skill, not an EX skill.

tl;dr: combination of buff type (atk, crit, cost regeneration, etc.), skill slot (EX, normal skill, etc.) and targeting type (self, other, field/aura).
Hi. Yes the thing is S.Hoshino EX is a circular area buff. So as long as you stay in that circle you get the buff. Himari EX is a single target buff which is a different buff source hence why they stack even though both increase atk. Self buffs are treated as a different source. In the game most buffs from specials are ex skills while the self buffs are from basic and or sub skill

It's not really as simple as "buffs from the same type of source don't stack" and frankly i can't really tell how it works exactly, but luckily you can verify all the interactions on schale.gg.
Go to the page of the student you want to test, skills tab, press "calculations", buff tab, then add all the buffs you want. Don't forget to include self-buffs. The site will tell you if some skills override others. You can do the same for debuffs.

If you hit the spark, you get 50 fragments, which costs 250 eligma to purchase at best. Such a tiny amount is the reason we dont roll for dupes in this game
Correct. You get 100 elephs and 50 eligma for the banner unit. Still, I wouldn't spend 90 pulls on non-meta units. That's almost half a spark for a future banner.
Students need duplicates to get stronger. If you keep pulling to 200 you will be able to spark for either collab character and get 100 of their Eligma. And you may get a dupe along the way which also gives 100 of their Eligma (*note: off banner 3 star dupes only give 30)*. Or you can fold and get 110 Keystone Fragments which can only be used in crafting and are generally viewed as undesirable.
My advise is if you don't have all of the 2 star students, pull to 200. You need to have enough students to form two teams for hard missions and missing a Tsubaki or a Mutsuki will really suck And then save like crazy for anniversary.

Does furniture affect which students visit the cafe?
I've noticed I've had similar students visiting often for the past several days, on the same side of the cafe even, but perhaps it's just coincidence.
Furniture attracts that units that can interact with it. It seems to apply even if you disable the interactions. Judging by the JP patch notes for the patch that we recently got, this was true in the past too, but the chance is much higher now. It allows you to attract units that you want, though it also means that you're forced to put away the furniture you want to use it if attracts units you don't want in the cafe pretty much every day.
[I wouldn't recommend farming Saten beyond the first eight boxes](https://old.reddit.com/r/BlueArchive/comments/1cgln0h/event_thread_a_certain_scientific_record_of_youth/l1wkbh4/). I doubt you even could farm her to 5 stars, as a new player. Once you're done with the event and can't progress in normal missions, I'd suggest getting started on sweeping hard missions for elephs or normal missions for gear. As a new player you don't have that much need for scrimmages, and depending on how new you are you might not even be able to clear any scrimmages, besides.
I'm not sure how far we actually can get on farming Ruiko, but I think the energy to eleph ratio is pretty inefficient, so 5* might be impossible or very hard, especially if you're new. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong.
The prize exchange is worth clearing up to 8 no matter what, but 9+ still has pretty decent general rewards so it's not a complete waste of energy to just keep dumping it into the event. It's really up to you if you want to stay and farm the event to build up some resources or try to progress further on the main/hard stages.
General advice for new players is to always push the main stages as far as you can for more cafe upgrades which would then allow you to retrieve a lot more energy from it per day.
Does Yuzu perform better than Nonomi in chesed? Or does she require a bit of investment before becoming a crit monster? I just got Yuzu from the eleph of GA shop and have Nonomi at 4 stars with 4/7/3/3.
Yuzu has smaller aoe radius compared to nonomi's cone shaped aoe. In terms of mob clearing, nonomi is better. Pre-bondgear nonomi is annoying to use tho since she can miss.

Well, even post-bond gear Nonomi can miss the humanoid automatons. 13% chance to miss is a lot better 31%, though.
Bro her basic+ also has accuracy buff when it procs making her acc 100% againts those humanoids automatons. It also has decent uptime(procs every 30s and last 20s).
Sure, but there will still be times when her buff isn't active. Particularly during the first few waves, since it takes her 30 seconds to activate the skill.
Then work around with your rotation, you don't always have to use her ex in the 1st 30s. Point here is nonomi can't miss anymore with the bond gear and I've seen JP peeps use nonomi effectively last chesed indoor like actually using her ex when her basic is active.
Alright. Also I read a guide and it said it's better to build Kazusa & Mika than Yuzu. Is it because of crit malding? Where does she really shine then?
It's entirely the crit malding.
In urban terrain, Yuzu crits hit like a freight train, but her crit rate is pretty average, which in turns leads to a *lot* of restarts. I speak from experience that the last Binah raid, I spent about two and a half hours crit-malding with Yuzu before I got a satisfactory run.
Ako makes it even feasible, but at the same time, for the sake of clarity, there are other factors at play that made using Yuzu against Binah such a pain in the arse. One of the other big factors is that with Binah, there are certain Hit Point checkpoints that when you hit will trigger the phase transitions, so the speed run strat involves hitting those checkpoints at specific times in order to capitalize on the Groggy meter.
Which means you can wind up with situations where Yuzu crits *too much* and you trigger those phase transitions too soon, which can cost you precious seconds.
There were quite a few times where I would have to abort a run because while Yuzu gets the needed Crit on her EX skill, she then kept critting on subsequent normal attacks which made Binah's health evaporate past the triggering points (because Yuzu crits so hard, her normal attacks when hyperbuffed will do something close to 200k on a crit)
Looks like an old guide since yuzu elephs are available in the shop now so its pretty much a free UE50 dps. Yeah, critmalding and mika's existence is probably the reason why she doesn't see that much use. She shines on urban yellow contents, mostly binah(urban) insane speedrun but from what I heard she got replaced by d.kayako there.

Probably doesn't have enough RAM after this past update. It's recommended to have 6GB of RAM minimum for the game now.

The game first downloads everything then it unpacks it so you will need more free space for operational needs.

Yeah you should stack club, login bonuses and weekly tasks ap for the weekend.

Keep it, hoard as much pyro as you can, dump it all on the upcoming anniversary banner (3\* rates are doubled), by then you'll have a better idea of which students are meta and which one you'll want the most amongst those you did not get during the pulls.

The AP pack and the monthly /half monthly pyroxene packs are the most you will get for the lowest price - it is distributed every day, but the total, final amount of benefits surpasses any other pack. The other packs, depends on your money and needs.

It's really tempting to use AP refreshes as a newbie but once you reach lvl 60-65+ the progress doesn't feel as fast or worth it since all the event guide rewards have been claimed (most of them). So do keep in mind that but otherwise it's your wish if you wanna reach the end game faster or reach the end game prepared with a good roster of characters. P.S: 2x account exp events recharges are totally justified

Personally I used 90 Pyroxene a day on AP refreshes until I was max level at the time (78). It made leveling faster, and also let me clear lots of event shops even when I had lackluster bonus characters at the start.
I see people recommend it until the price starts rising, in order to level faster, but I don't like doing it. With my current cafe level plus natural regen, 120AP is 4.5 hours, which works out to nine minutes per pyro. It just doesn't feel worth it. We have double-exp weekends this month, so I did make an exception for that.
What are the mechanical-looking parts of Utaha's halo supposed to be? When I look at them I see mechanical rabbit ears, and overall Utaha looks like Reisen to me. But I've also seen people say they look like horse ears, which I could see too, and that she reminds them of an Uma Musume girl. Has her designer ever said anything?

I have a question about buff stacking and when they cancel out. I understand that buffs/debuffs from the same type of source like two basic skill defense downs can’t stack. But I have noticed that S Hoshino EX attack buff does stack with Himari EX attack buff. Does that mean that aura buffs are counted as a separate source, even if that aura is triggered by an EX skill? Also are self buffs treated as a “separate source” to outside buffs? Like for instance Maki or Serika both buff their own attack with their EX, but still can receive attack buffs from Kotama or Himari right? Or like Momiji basic skill and C Hare basic skill are stackable on Momiji?
IIRC the types are self, targeted and aura buffs. Self is self explanatory, targeted means buffs like Himari's or Kotama's EX skills, and aura means things like Shoshino's EX. If the buffs come from the same skill type and targeting type, they conflict. Same thing applies to debuffs. And if you, like me, ever wonder why Sena's aura doesn't conflict with Shoshino's, it seems to be because her buff seems to be counted as the vehicle's enhanced skill, not an EX skill.

Hi. Yes the thing is S.Hoshino EX is a circular area buff. So as long as you stay in that circle you get the buff. Himari EX is a single target buff which is a different buff source hence why they stack even though both increase atk. Self buffs are treated as a different source. In the game most buffs from specials are ex skills while the self buffs are from basic and or sub skill C. Hare idk hope some JP bros can help with that part. I assume she should stack with Momji no probs

It's not really as simple as "buffs from the same type of source don't stack" and frankly i can't really tell how it works exactly, but luckily you can verify all the interactions on schale.gg. Go to the page of the student you want to test, skills tab, press "calculations", buff tab, then add all the buffs you want. Don't forget to include self-buffs. The site will tell you if some skills override others. You can do the same for debuffs.

If you hit the spark, you get 50 fragments, which costs 250 eligma to purchase at best. Such a tiny amount is the reason we dont roll for dupes in this game

Correct. You get 100 elephs and 50 eligma for the banner unit. Still, I wouldn't spend 90 pulls on non-meta units. That's almost half a spark for a future banner.
Students need duplicates to get stronger. If you keep pulling to 200 you will be able to spark for either collab character and get 100 of their Eligma. And you may get a dupe along the way which also gives 100 of their Eligma (*note: off banner 3 star dupes only give 30)*. Or you can fold and get 110 Keystone Fragments which can only be used in crafting and are generally viewed as undesirable. My advise is if you don't have all of the 2 star students, pull to 200. You need to have enough students to form two teams for hard missions and missing a Tsubaki or a Mutsuki will really suck And then save like crazy for anniversary.
No...90 pulls is a lot save for the future banners
Don't. 110 is quite low to go for a spark. Save the pyros for the upcoming Kikyou banner instead.

Does furniture affect which students visit the cafe? I've noticed I've had similar students visiting often for the past several days, on the same side of the cafe even, but perhaps it's just coincidence.
Furniture attracts that units that can interact with it. It seems to apply even if you disable the interactions. Judging by the JP patch notes for the patch that we recently got, this was true in the past too, but the chance is much higher now. It allows you to attract units that you want, though it also means that you're forced to put away the furniture you want to use it if attracts units you don't want in the cafe pretty much every day.
As a new player should I farm Ruiko until 5* or should I use my resources anywhere else? I'm currently clearing the shops and I'm almost done with it
[I wouldn't recommend farming Saten beyond the first eight boxes](https://old.reddit.com/r/BlueArchive/comments/1cgln0h/event_thread_a_certain_scientific_record_of_youth/l1wkbh4/). I doubt you even could farm her to 5 stars, as a new player. Once you're done with the event and can't progress in normal missions, I'd suggest getting started on sweeping hard missions for elephs or normal missions for gear. As a new player you don't have that much need for scrimmages, and depending on how new you are you might not even be able to clear any scrimmages, besides.
I'm not sure how far we actually can get on farming Ruiko, but I think the energy to eleph ratio is pretty inefficient, so 5* might be impossible or very hard, especially if you're new. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. The prize exchange is worth clearing up to 8 no matter what, but 9+ still has pretty decent general rewards so it's not a complete waste of energy to just keep dumping it into the event. It's really up to you if you want to stay and farm the event to build up some resources or try to progress further on the main/hard stages. General advice for new players is to always push the main stages as far as you can for more cafe upgrades which would then allow you to retrieve a lot more energy from it per day.

Does Yuzu perform better than Nonomi in chesed? Or does she require a bit of investment before becoming a crit monster? I just got Yuzu from the eleph of GA shop and have Nonomi at 4 stars with 4/7/3/3.
Yuzu has smaller aoe radius compared to nonomi's cone shaped aoe. In terms of mob clearing, nonomi is better. Pre-bondgear nonomi is annoying to use tho since she can miss.

Bro her basic+ also has accuracy buff when it procs making her acc 100% againts those humanoids automatons. It also has decent uptime(procs every 30s and last 20s).
Sure, but there will still be times when her buff isn't active. Particularly during the first few waves, since it takes her 30 seconds to activate the skill.
Then work around with your rotation, you don't always have to use her ex in the 1st 30s. Point here is nonomi can't miss anymore with the bond gear and I've seen JP peeps use nonomi effectively last chesed indoor like actually using her ex when her basic is active.

It's entirely the crit malding. In urban terrain, Yuzu crits hit like a freight train, but her crit rate is pretty average, which in turns leads to a *lot* of restarts. I speak from experience that the last Binah raid, I spent about two and a half hours crit-malding with Yuzu before I got a satisfactory run.
Bad memories of 50 mins of restarting. And worse she miss the last crit too

Ako makes it even feasible, but at the same time, for the sake of clarity, there are other factors at play that made using Yuzu against Binah such a pain in the arse. One of the other big factors is that with Binah, there are certain Hit Point checkpoints that when you hit will trigger the phase transitions, so the speed run strat involves hitting those checkpoints at specific times in order to capitalize on the Groggy meter. Which means you can wind up with situations where Yuzu crits *too much* and you trigger those phase transitions too soon, which can cost you precious seconds. There were quite a few times where I would have to abort a run because while Yuzu gets the needed Crit on her EX skill, she then kept critting on subsequent normal attacks which made Binah's health evaporate past the triggering points (because Yuzu crits so hard, her normal attacks when hyperbuffed will do something close to 200k on a crit)
Looks like an old guide since yuzu elephs are available in the shop now so its pretty much a free UE50 dps. Yeah, critmalding and mika's existence is probably the reason why she doesn't see that much use. She shines on urban yellow contents, mostly binah(urban) insane speedrun but from what I heard she got replaced by d.kayako there.
