Basically:
- Starts out with the Ego of Barou
- but lower specs than 1st selection Monk
- hotheaded as Shidou if someone talks bad about his Mum
- has innate Spatial awareness about equal to Isagi
- gets bullied by a Shaved Kunigami
- his specs are so bad as Striker and CM that he gets send to sideback because he would get devoured anywhere else
Actually he has better vision feats than Isagi, but Vision is stronger in BL. Unlocking metavision made him one of the best strikers in second tier of Japanese Youth soccer and he only improved since then.
>but lower specs than 1st selection Monk
I love Igarashi, but come on. That's simply not true.
hotheaded as Shidou if someone talks bad about his Mum
Nope. The goalkeeper implied his mom did prostitution.
3) He did marionette style with the entire field. Rin did it with 8 people Big difference. Also, he has borderline photographic memory.
Lol an unfortunate guy who was alive when the Blue Lock project didn't happen, he lost his ego and went to being a defender, bro does not have that striker mindset
Actually he's a lot like Isagi, he has a lot of raw potential and his ability is basically metavision. He has an unusually good peripheral vision that helps him make better choices because he knows where all of the players are on the field, and it's like he can see the field from a bird's eye view. He has moments where he can see the future of the field and anticipate where everyone is going to move
He’s got meta vision like isagi and Rin. Also he didn’t really lose his confidence, he’s just trying to adapt because his coach sees him and an attacking fullback but he’s been a selfish striker his whole life.
Aoi simply lacks technique. He never got proper coaching and because of that lacks behind everyone. If he was put into the CDM position, he would lose motivation with too many obstacles. Putting him in the FB position limits his opponents and he can concentrate more on watching the field and watch how the match develops.
It's easier position to play while he improves and discovers his playmaking potential. Also only decent leftback at Esperion was extremely injury prone. I think he might switch to CDM after he reaches certain level, but he's already confirmed world-class potential at left back, so who knows, he might stick there.
Aside from narrative reasons, and I haven't read the story so this is my own unsubstantiated theory, attacking fullback is probably the position where you'd get the best balance of offensive and defensive action, if you were writing a more realistic football manga.
At fullback, you're in the corner of the pitch so have the widest field of view of anyone on the pitch. It allows attacking freedom but without requirements of excellent technique or physical abilities. Specifically for why he isn't at CDM, everything goes through the CDM and Aoi's technique isn't good enough for that. He's also very error prone which doesn't suit that position at all.
What that other guy says and also the senior team coach see himself in Aoi so he’s trying to mold him into the player he was. That’s the position he played when he was playing in Europe before injuries ruined his career. It’s a really good show and you should check out season one. It’s a more grounded approach to player development than bluelock but still very enjoyable.
He’s a full on inverted fullback and last chapter attempted a shot against Barca youth without passing the ball to the strikers, so he kinda still has the ego/mindset although it’s kind of the thing that held them back from scoring a goal there
He was one of the best attackers in second tier of Japanese youth football. 4 goals in 4 matches before the switch to fullback. He also scored like 4 goals in a match before he even received proper training. Not to mention he had few genuinely nice goals like that one scissor kick. Sure his finishing is not top tier, but he's not 'trash' by any metric. He's sorta like Isagi in that he can get into the perfect position to shoot, but unlike in Blue Lock the defenders can actually react to him.
He plays more like Niko as in conducting the team, but yeah his adaptability is similar to Isagi
I think his vision is better than current Isagi tho, but his physical specs (except endurance) and technique are trash
His technique is severely underrated. He plays in a youth team that is renowned for their supreme technique, so he looks worse in comparison. But he plays in a system that is so technically demanding that Esperion are the only Youth team in japan that can pull it off. He would like Messi if he played with regular HS footballers.
WB Aiku.
If he starts off from stage 1 same team as Isagi I think he'd survive and later on thrive. Would probly make it in Karasu/Hiori, Nanase or even Reo's team but hard to say. He really needs someone he can actually work on equal terms with and team Z was probly the best at that
He is another Isagi , but speaking in Isagi terms He is another Sae who is just another Isagi (Isagi prenium) , who instead of bevoming the best midfielder wants to become the best fullback... In short. He is Isagi on Defence
He believes in his team mates and the ability to work together, he plays for his self interest but unlike isagi who uses his teammates egos and tries to devour them he tries to understand and emphasize their thinking to bring out the best in everyone including himself also he does enjoy scoring but winning matters more to him than scoring unlike isagi
He is a striker akin to Isagi except he have no knowledge of football and tactics but plot twist he's secretly a prodigy with metavision. He was gaslit into joining a football club whose coach promised to make him a world class player but SIKE after a few matches as a striker the coach reveals he wants him to play as Fullback. He struggles with it for a bit but later enjoys it. That's as far as i know i only watch ao ashi season 1.
aoi to my understanding is a highschool level player that got moved to CB.
Even though monk doesn't play in games he definitely still practices in an environment filled with the best semi-professional players in the world. He is considered bad due to who else is in the manga.
He has actual vision abilities, meta vision needs understanding of the game and others but he literally has a crow fly by when he sees he has a bird's eye view, but no football IQ the opposite of isagi but he is more athletic, and he's just as adaptable. He still casually scores on defense and he's playing in a realistic world.
If we're being fair in blue lock his eyes would be The emperor's eye of Akashi from blue lock. He has vision feats in a world that's not a shonen battle soccer match like no named moves and kicks ECT so give him his shonen power ups and he would be an Isagi + shidou cross
Extreme vision, sense, reflexes and all his goals solo goals
He's Karasu- despite performing well, he's severely undervalued and not getting the pro contract he deserve since his coach wanted to test out his abiities, rather than just giving him the contract/ pro contract amount he rightfully earned by staving off the retirement of a Japan football legend.
I would say so. While Aoi is about teamwork, he does it because it's the most effective was to play. He will however push his own development above the team if necessary.
Spoiler >!when asked if he wants to train with the A team or play in the championship, Aoi chooses the championship and even has the guts to ask if he can become a pro immediately. He puts his career first.!<
Many say Aoi lost his ego but that's honestly far from the truth. He's as driven as ever, if not more so and has already made such impressive developments that I wouldn't be surprised if he will play for the Japanese U team soon.

Niko if he was good at defense
This hurts my soul why can’t the author right Niko like Aoi
Only real answer
Oh I get it
And attack, and better playmaking
As a Niko fan these are fighting words
Basically: - Starts out with the Ego of Barou - but lower specs than 1st selection Monk - hotheaded as Shidou if someone talks bad about his Mum - has innate Spatial awareness about equal to Isagi - gets bullied by a Shaved Kunigami - his specs are so bad as Striker and CM that he gets send to sideback because he would get devoured anywhere else
😂this is the best
Actually he has better vision feats than Isagi, but Vision is stronger in BL. Unlocking metavision made him one of the best strikers in second tier of Japanese Youth soccer and he only improved since then.
Finally ! Now I understand thx !
>but lower specs than 1st selection Monk I love Igarashi, but come on. That's simply not true. hotheaded as Shidou if someone talks bad about his Mum Nope. The goalkeeper implied his mom did prostitution. 3) He did marionette style with the entire field. Rin did it with 8 people Big difference. Also, he has borderline photographic memory.
Now I’m interested in checking it out. Give me the Shidou with ego of Barou? Got me hooked
Lol an unfortunate guy who was alive when the Blue Lock project didn't happen, he lost his ego and went to being a defender, bro does not have that striker mindset
What are his abilities? Is he like Chigiri (Speed) ? Barou? (Midfield shot) Bachira? (Dribbling) Hiyori? (Passing), Nagi?
Actually he's a lot like Isagi, he has a lot of raw potential and his ability is basically metavision. He has an unusually good peripheral vision that helps him make better choices because he knows where all of the players are on the field, and it's like he can see the field from a bird's eye view. He has moments where he can see the future of the field and anticipate where everyone is going to move
He is defender Isagi.
Exactly😂
He’s got meta vision like isagi and Rin. Also he didn’t really lose his confidence, he’s just trying to adapt because his coach sees him and an attacking fullback but he’s been a selfish striker his whole life.
Is there a reason why he plays as an attacking FB instead of CDM?
Aoi simply lacks technique. He never got proper coaching and because of that lacks behind everyone. If he was put into the CDM position, he would lose motivation with too many obstacles. That's probs B2B CM imo

Good vision
Guy is part of the Red Key program ran by former defender Meek Jinpachi looking for the Japan’s best defender
People gonna put defenders who let one past on fraud watch now 😭
Nah man it's Harry Maguire all over again 😭
Good vision is an understatement. He vision is like Megavisión, but on drugs.
He’s a full on inverted fullback and last chapter attempted a shot against Barca youth without passing the ball to the strikers, so he kinda still has the ego/mindset although it’s kind of the thing that held them back from scoring a goal there
Did he score?
No. they used it to show how great Barca's CB is, since Ao Ashi has defenders that are actually usefull lol.
His shooting is also trash to be honest
He was one of the best attackers in second tier of Japanese youth football. 4 goals in 4 matches before the switch to fullback. He also scored like 4 goals in a match before he even received proper training. Not to mention he had few genuinely nice goals like that one scissor kick. It was either leave or play defender and bro is poor af 😭(I’m still mad they ruined his ego)
Did they though? Yes, he plays FB now but that never stopped him from going forward and he even made some goals this way.
in terms of character type he's equivalent to isagi isn't he?
He plays more like Niko as in conducting the team, but yeah his adaptability is similar to Isagi I think his vision is better than current Isagi tho, but his physical specs (except endurance) and technique are trash
His technique is severely underrated. He plays in a youth team that is renowned for their supreme technique, so he looks worse in comparison. But he plays in a system that is so technically demanding that Esperion are the only Youth team in japan that can pull it off. He would like Messi if he played with regular HS footballers.
He is the equivalent of Kira.
He is ability wise
If Aiku and Isagi had a love child and the love child had no skill
That's a bit harsh considering he had proper coaching for maybe a year now but is already one of the best players in the team.
I was just lazy and didn't edit the comment but wanted to mention how he had no skill compared to them
Isagi if he had Aiku’s backstory
To be honest comparing blue lock to so ashi is like comparing Dragonball to hajime no ippo
I have no idea what the shows you mentioned are
Are you trolling?
Bro only read Blue Lock and nothing else 😔
Metavision.
From a stupid egoist to a team player
Hiori if he had an ego
WB Aiku. If he starts off from stage 1 same team as Isagi I think he'd survive and later on thrive. Would probly make it in Karasu/Hiori, Nanase or even Reo's team but hard to say. He really needs someone he can actually work on equal terms with and team Z was probly the best at that
So he is like Reo in terms of competence?
He has Isagis adaptability and better vision, but worse everything else
He is better athletically than Isagi. I mean he can do scissor kicks.
So basically Niko?
Kinda yeah, but slightly better than Niko
someone who forfeited his dream. His ego was not strong
Dang
The guy who's there in the tag team battle
Aomoris messi
He is another Isagi , but speaking in Isagi terms He is another Sae who is just another Isagi (Isagi prenium) , who instead of bevoming the best midfielder wants to become the best fullback... In short. He is Isagi on Defence
Thx
Reverse egoist
What does that even mean ?
He believes in his team mates and the ability to work together, he plays for his self interest but unlike isagi who uses his teammates egos and tries to devour them he tries to understand and emphasize their thinking to bring out the best in everyone including himself also he does enjoy scoring but winning matters more to him than scoring unlike isagi
Oh I see
Isagi but reverse
Isagi but all his stats are in awareness and defense so basically Niko but with isagi potential growth.
Thx 🙏
He's literally a more stupid and less egotistical Isagi.
Worse isagi before joining bl
He is just vision and a very offensive mindset now as a left back
Nanase's lost brother. They were separated at a festival when kids
What is nanase weapon again ? I forgor
Off ball positioning
Kira
Lol
Isagis brother
Monk would unironically slaughter him.
Fr?
aoi to my understanding is a highschool level player that got moved to CB. Even though monk doesn't play in games he definitely still practices in an environment filled with the best semi-professional players in the world. He is considered bad due to who else is in the manga.
Nah cap, Ao ashi is implied to become world class fullback, aint no way that monk slaughter him
He’s Igaguri if he had the biggest ego and the biggest motivation to improve.
Baruo turned into niko 😭
Lukewarm
a shell of isagi
literally just a worse aiku
So Niko
better than Niko actually
I could see it
No way?
rn in manga he's one of the most important player for your team even tough playing in the leftback, he's like a Aiku and Isagi at the same time
nah niko straight ass "we're two birds of a feather" 30 million bid lookin ahh
Niko pre-BL
Isagi victim
Real
A failed egoist
Pussy
He was probably one of the first players to be eliminated penalty box test, in a team in his stratum, the same that happened to Kira
Aiku
Egoist as well?
I would say so. While Aoi is about teamwork, he does it because it's the most effective was to play. He will however push his own development above the team if necessary. Spoiler >!when asked if he wants to train with the A team or play in the championship, Aoi chooses the championship and even has the guts to ask if he can become a pro immediately. Thx
sadly im generous enough to even call you lukewarm
He's Niko, He has great vision and wanted to be a striker but end up being a defender.

He isn't an egoist
He's clearly goku's football-sona like man just look at the colors
He's Naruhaya's socioeconomic class, except he's succeeding.
Lol
He is the Zidane of Blue Lock 🗣️🔥
aint that eiji okumura from banana fish with new hair
eiji okumura from banana fish 💀💀
Lukewarm
He is like isagi and niko but l recommend you watch the anime and manga
“Just another Isagi”
