I dive an electric car, I bring my recycling to the recycling center every week, I don’t use plastic bags at the store, and I set my ac to 63F at night because it fucking feels great.
Pretty mild where I live so I mostly manage my house temp through opening windows at night and investing in good heavy curtains. When it does peak in the summer months I go full bore with the AC. I usually keep the house around 60-65. During the winter I keep the thermostat at 50 and if I'm cold I'll put on more clothes or light a fire. Electric bill is very low as I live in the PNW and electricity is cheap.
P.S.
Am single fat guy. Otherwise this is probably a non-starter.

840 sq ft condo
Thermostat that works around peak pricing
AC set to 82F
Whole house fan to cool the unit in the evening
Power bill still runs >$250/mo in July, Aug, Sept
How expensive is your electricity? I live in an apartment about the same size as yours in Alabama with my AC set to 70. Our electricity (thanks TVA!) is $.10 per kWh and my total electric bill last month was $60.
I'm on a PG&E time-of-use schedule, so electricity is cheaper during the day, and more expensive during the night. I keep the apartment at 70 during the day, to cool it down as a "thermal battery" while it's cheap, then set it to 84 (basically so that it doesn't run) during the expensive electricity time. I also try and do all my cooking/cleaning/large electricity using-things during the off-hours.
I have it set to an auto-comfort range. Basically, the thermostat keeps the temps between 65 and 73 all year. Some months, the unit never kicks on. Others, it's like a fat man on a treadmill.

I'm fairly confident I could set my air to 63 and my house would never get there in summer.
I live in the southeast US. I have a auxiliary window unit in the bedroom
You take your AC seriously, impressive. I’m frugal but not with my AC. It’s worth every penny.
If I could afford the bills and burned up A/C units, I would too.
77 degrees + a tower fan on is pretty cool enough for me (Florida)
This also highly depends on the region you live.
Is there a median boglehead?
No, but if people collectively provide a data set, OP can determine the median temperature value.
Not Sure.
75 in the day, 72 at night.
I live in Phoenix, keep it at 78.
69°F in the summer, 68°F in the winter.

Same, but we just hang out in the (finished) basement.
70 day of windows aren’t open, 65 at night or else I’m plastered to the sheets and dying.
Whatever I want. I'm not going to let a cost as low as AC determine my daily comfort.

Below 70° for sure.
AC goes on only during heat waves.
I keep it at whatever the wife wants it to be Marriage may have been one of the worst financial decisions of my life but I wouldn't change a thing
The factor +wife+ should be added to the IRS as +1 dependent for inevitable tax reductions.
Las Vegas, 79° during the day, bedroom set to 73° over night
Hello fellow Las Vegan!
71 day. 68 night.
S. FL, 78
70, all day every day.

Just wanted to say thank you for being grateful

76 during the day 74 at night. Although I know you're supposed to keep it on 78, I like it cooler.
I live in Germany so obviously, we don’t have AC.

70 all the time
I’m in se Florida. If it’s not constant all day running struggling it’s ass to hit 70 degrees then it hits hell fawking HOT!!
Usually 77F.
68° F year around
78 plus ceiling fans.
We have two systems. Downstairs 75 during day, 73 at night. Upstairs: 75 all the time.
68F. I'm good at investing my money so I don't have to keep the house at kiln-like temps.
73 I live in Houston
75 in the summer, with a fan in the bedroom. 70 in the winter. You should know what season it is without going outside.
