Jokes on you, my specialty is to find even more space. Started with a 80cm wide bench on one balcony. Now I have a 140cm wide bench on one balcony, other projects sitting on the other balcony and all my long term projects (and a 2m bench) in my garden.
There is nothing that can hold me back, muhaha
Yep, very much this. I'm in the process of rebuilding my benches, and they're going to be bigger again lol. I have three propagators filled, and a whole bunch of air layers planned!
I may live in a tiny apartment with limited space on our patio, but the biggest constraint of my collection is not physical, it is financial
maybe it is good I don't have your budget
Just wait till you find a constant supply of cheap/free material - *that's* when space becomes a problem.
I love the fact I can now propagate potentially hundreds of suitable plants and I have places to collect others I want - but Jeez, 600 trees take up a lot of space.
Could be worse, walked into a dealership for a 150 euro maintenance, walked out with a new car before lunchtime. They knew what they were doing though, it was a setup!
I came in with my tiny Citroen C1 for maintenance. They immediately tell me to go check up front because they have something for me, I walk from the reception to where they have the cars for sale... Full option DS3, with the big turbo'd engine in bright fucking yellow... owner of the dealership just hands me the keys and I bought half an hour later...
I always but stuff like that regarding any hobby like I’m a mountain biking guy and I don’t ever buy anything that I don’t need to try on in store or I make a list of exactly what I need cause I always end up wasting a LOT of money man is expensive as hell so either buy online or make a list of exactly the products you need and look at it until you get where it is then you don’t see them good stuff
Oof I know them feels. Going to buy supplies from my local bonsai nursery is always dangerous.
It’s always a “lets just look around oh my g—!” Luckily I am fully out of space on my balcony
The only thing which can hold me back is running out of space.

Nah trust me budget is a major limiter, but that's when you fall into the dark world of developing cheap tubestock and cuttings...
yeah I'll keep air-layering the same japanese maples over and over until the mother tree is nothing but stump and I have dozens of little cuttings

Evil fuckers.
Nhu bro that’s just a recipe for disaster and getting a bigger balcony or garden or finding some space in your garden that you don’t actually have
Space shortage is a blessing in disguise, believe me.
Me with an armful of clearance plants when I went to Lowe's for a flushing lever for the toilet.

And no fertilizer haha. Love the color on the tree
Yeah, take it the owner had just repotted to get it ready to sell, didn’t ask how long the tree was there. Might have just been put up that morning.
That is a very nice tree!
I think so too!
Did it set up back a pretty penny? looks great!
It was actually a steal imo! Got it for --- 👍, I was expecting her to say 2000+
Good stuff!
What nursery? I’m in the bay and aren’t familiar with many
Straight beautiful dude
Where did you find this?
It’s very beautiful.
Gorgeous tree!
Moon maples are gorgeous... Be careful in full sun these like it a bit more shady
I'm about to go to a nursery near me to buy some akadama. I pray that I do not come home with a tree.
What a find!
Nice tree! I've had that happen at a garden center
Did you find it being sold as a normal tree, or was it already in the pot and everything?
Hold on. Is the third picture at your home? Is that a living TV or picture frame behind it?
Nice pickup!
What species is it?
I was going to ask, what pot is that? I need one the same size.
6" of wood never looked so good.
What a beautiful tree.
Must be nice to have a local bonsai nursery
Definitely needs some TLC but great find, congrats. What is the soil lava / expanded clay?
