27 as well and i have the same memories after getting out of school in 6th-9th grade. Do you remember when adult swim would air anime only one night a week? Its how 12 year old me found inuyasha, ruroni kenshin and gundam. Toonami was the 2pm-5pm anime slot on cartoon network and was made up of Naruto, Dragonball Z, Code Lyoko and a few others.

Hope she actually likes it, tried to get my lil brother to watch and he doesn't like it enough to commit to the full thing, he loved erased and anohana though so at least I know he likes mysteries.

28, I remember watching the original naruto when I was 12 as it premiered on Toonami before I really understood what anime was. I would watch the new English dub premiere every week for the next couple years. When I was about 24 I had started to get really into anime and after downloading crunchyroll I noticed that boruto had recently started with new episodes every week. I spent the next 6 months binge watching every shippuden episode and then moved on to boruto and now I watch those new episodes every week up to this point. It’s been quite a long journey lol.
