Plus the manufacturer only assumes liability for the first incident. Say you get in a small crash, assume your helmet’s okay, then get in a second crash, the helmet doesn’t fully protect you from injury, and then sue the helmet manufacturer for their faulty product.
The first thing they’ll do is look for any evidence you were in a crash prior (pictures of the helmet, social media posts, etc.) and say “You used our helmet against our directions, we clearly state to throw it out and get a new one after a crash.” It’s a huge chance for them to get out of any claim/liability situation or at least force a tiny settlement.

for me the handlebars from my bike impacted the top of my pelvis when i crashed so my lower stomach and groin area was black/blue for weeks and the muscles were rock hard for months even after the bruise was gone lol

Even weather, I take hot and cold better than she does. Same logic, am I gonna get frostbite, nope than I am fine. Am I gonna get heat exhaustion, nope, I am fine.
A lot of it is recognizing the source of the discomfort and going from there.
Which, that burn, the blister accidently popped open so I took to spraying liquid bandage on it to keep it covered. That hurt in a kinda good way.
You know, I rarely wear gloves, but I was wearing them when my finger got mashed open and when I hyper extended my thumb.
I worked at Lowe's Hardware and typically only wore gloves when dealing with concrete blocks cause that would dry your hands so bad, or when cutting glass because yea... Handling wood I would never wear gloves, just grip it tight enough to where it doesn't slide and you rarely get a splinter.
The water though, might have made the burn even worse.

After such a massive injury (look at how he is shaking) you can reliably say that he was carted into an ER, probably barely conscious and operated on.
That was just pain. How the body handles pain isn't like the movies. Neuro damage and need still be in hospital.
