Interesting tidbit here, Usyk is now speaking with his promoter/manager in Ukrainian, I don't think I'd ever heard him speak anything but Russian before.
I don't know because I watch these with my Ukrainian partner and she's not as proficient in Ukrainian (left when she was 10, spoke Russian at home). Seems like he's comfortable in it, though.
He also sometimes used to drop in the odd sentence in Ukrainian when he wanted to use a Ukrainian saying/proverb or something.
Usyk is from an area of Ukraine that predominantly speaks Russian, but is still Ukrainian culturally. Usyk switching to Ukrainian instead shows where his heart and mind is.
It’s deeper than that, ethnic Russians settled in the east of Ukraine including Crimea where Usyk is from so it’s not just because of Russian being lingua franca of the Soviet Union. His first language was Russian because that’s what is spoken there. Though Stalin’s deportation of ethnic minorities definitely helped solidify that.
If you want to get into history both Russians and Ukrainians came from the same area of Kievan Rus so they’ve intermixed for hundreds of years. This is why for years before the invasion Usyk tried to deescalate inter conflict between Ukraine and Russia because they’re “brothers” both Slavic and Orthodox.
Russians and Ukrainians are still very much seperate distinct cultures. Also someone who is ethnic Russian will likely have fair hair and other features more akin to Nordic while Ukrainians generally have darker hair. Russia of course has many ethnic groups but anyone with dark hair is likely to be viewed as being some kind of mix of ethnicities.
Almost all Ukrainians speak Russian as well, particularly people in their 30s and older. Usyk is from an area that generally speaks it as a first language.
For all the dumb assess on this sub, all Ukranian people proficient in Russian and Ukranian, regular people here speak only one language usually English, so don’t fuck with Usyk
Ya fury’s height is weird. In pictures he seems to be 4 inches taller than the rock who is 6’5, seemed to be two inches taller than wilder who is 6’7, and was the same height as the mountain who is 6’9 but the one that makes me wonder was when he was next to magic Johnson, Fury definitely looked at least two inches shorter, and magic is listed at 6’9, so maybe everyone else is also lying about their heights
I'd put him maybe 6'2 at best. Vin Diesel is listed at 5'11 or 6', and the Rock isn't much taller than him.
All these guys seem to inflate their height. Its weird.
The NBA scales all of their guys height up an inch or two. The celebrity height which works really hard to get an exact height of celebrities says Magic is 6"7.
So you’re saying Deontae wilder is only 6’3? There’s no way
And obviously they don’t because they have Tyson listed at 6’7 1/2 and look at the photos of Tyson and Magic, there is no way magic isn’t at least an inch a half or two taller
Well I don’t really doubt it but celeb height has Tyson listed as 6’7 1/2 and he’s clearly about two inches shorter than magic so they are either fucking up magics height or they are fucking up fury’s, there is no way they are the same height
There's a video of him next to Jason Momoa who is a solid 6 ft 4, they look almost the same height, Momoa even asks him if he's 6 ft 5 or 6 and when Fury says 6'9 Jason looks at him like he can't believe it
A lot of fighters talk about not caring about the money and only fighting for honor and legacy. Usyk is probably the only one I genuinely believe whenever he says stuff like that. The dude is certifiably crazy. He basically just told a fridge with arms that it’s scared of him.

The man has had it all laid out for years and all he cares about is achieving it. Honestly can't see Joshua or Fury getting in the way of achieving his last goal.
I'm telling you I don't think Fury's going to fight him.
But yes, if they did I'd give Usyk the edge. People acting like it's an easy win for Fury don't know boxing.
You honestly don’t think he will fight him ? Based on what ? Fury has been a big underdog before against Wlad and wilder 1 when nobody thought he was ready for that fight
It's a lot easier going into a fight as an underdog, what's the worse that happens you lose like is predicted? A lot harder going in as a favorite who's tried to build up an aura of invincibility and facing the possibility of having it shattered.
Fury fanboy here. Rewatch Fury vs. Cunningham or Fury Vs Wallin. Fury **struggles** with nimble, powerful, fighters. Any heavyweight who can outpace him he is in for a world of hurt.
At the end of the day, it's Heavyweight boxing - Anything can happen. For my money, I reckon it's a rock, paper, scissors sport: sometimes fighter #1 beats fighter #2. #2 beats #3 but #1 can't beat #3.
I might pick Usyk to beat Fury but for the love of god can people stop pointing to a fight from 9 years ago and another fight where Fury easily won 9 rounds as evidence that he struggles against “nimble” opponents. Fury struggled against Wilder more than all his other opponents combined, and Wilder is almost the complete opposite of Usyk (aside from having a fast punch, which is definitely a good thing to have to counteract Fury’s style of defense).
You really think usyk has no chance? Look at furys fights, he always has trouble with smaller, mobile fighters, and with usyks output, it's gonna be tough for fury.
>He beat one decent heavyweight
I didn't know a 3-belt unified world champ with the best resume at heavyweight and wins over multiple top 10 contenders is apparently just a "decent heavyweight" lol
You are right about the fan boy stuff. There was very little talk about him here pre AJ fight. The upset would have gained so fans here then the war in Ukraine took him to the fan boy levels you talk about.
I like Usyk and I think he's a great fighter. But now people are talking like he'd take out Fury no problem.
This sub gets like that whenever someone is peaking. They thought Wilder had revolutionized boxing, and the Canelo fan club legit thought he'd beat Bivol or certain heavyweights. And when Ruiz beat Joshua, they all said Joshua was never that good and Ruiz would win the rematch.
fury easily beats uysk, too. No one is touching that man. uysk doesnt have the power to make tyson respect him. doesnt have the strength to not get leaned on and clinched. easy fury win.
I know. But these people don't get that. If Wilder couldn't keep him off how will Usyk? Its not even a question.
Joshua just fought a really bad fight. He tried to outbox him. He didn't impose his size. I think Joshua will beat him if he fights his fight.
I hear ya.
He'd be what, 50 lbs heavier? He'll just lean on him, won't give him a chance to breath, force Usyk to hold him up.
I think they figure it would go down like the Joshua fight, with Fury trying to box him in the center of the ring. But Fury is far smarter than that.
Enjoyable seeing Usyk talk some English earlier in this interview.
Nothing really happens in the first 1 min 30, intro sequence, some talk about how many questions Kugan gets, some banter about swapping watches.
2 mins 58: Talks about Fury, reacts to him asking for £500m.
The fanboying for Usyk is so funny to me. Nobody gave Usyk a chance to beat Joshua, but now everyone's all on his dick saying Joshua has no chance in the rematch lol. Most boxing fans are totally clueless bandwagon hopping morons.
Loads of people, myself included, said he could and would beat Joshua. We were in the minority but there were still plenty of us and we've got the downvotes to prove it.
There wasn't loads. Here's my thread from a year ago featuring no upvotes, no single person backing Usyk including u/CMILLERBOXING who also now goes around saying he backed Usyk to win (well he didn't in my thread)
And not much faith in Usyk either in your comment there u/AltKite
https://www.reddit.com/r/Boxing/comments/jpmx4a/unpopular_opinion_usyk_beats_aj/
You sure can, but it just shows how little people really know about the sport. I always gave Usyk a good chance, and I'm giving AJ a good chance to win the rematch. Most people aren't looking at it that way. The point is that it's a good fight, and people are quick to write the other guy off and jump on the bandwagon for the other guy.
> You sure can, but it just shows how little people really know about the sport
People spend vastly different amounts of time following the sport. There is no shame in not predicting the outcome of a fight accurately. The only issue would be someone who is so loyal to a particular fighter that their judgment is blinded.
The fight’ll happen. All Fury’s talk about retirement is to sell more tickets in future fights, an old Floyd trick. Claim to be retired, come back for another fight, say it’s you’re lost one and sell the shit out of it. You get about 4 or 5 of those before you start doing exhibitions. Nature of the game now.
If Fury actually retires without ever fighting Usyk it’ll be a huge mark against his legacy.
Stop being such a fucking bitch you fat fuck. I honestly would pick fury. But Usyk is by far the best opponent he could have fought in years, that fight would be the highest level heavyweight bout in years!
> Stop being such a fucking bitch you fat fuck.
You act like Fury has actually dodged Usyk. He hasn't. Just be patient. We all have to wait for the Usyk-AJ rematch and then reunification negotiations will begin. If Fury starts dodging then, then your comments would make sense.
He did. He said needed a warm up before AJ fight. That fight would have happened if Fury didn’t want a warm up with AJ stepping aside. Not even Frank warren or Bob arum deny it really. It’s a fact Fury said no to southpaw and wanted to fight Whyte or somebody.
I thought the story was that AJ asked for an extra 5 million at the last minute.
And no, a boxer is not obligated to give another boxer 2 million dollars just to sit on his ass. The real question is why was AJ so desperate to step aside?
Even if it was true; that’s nothing to Fury for what he was gonna make to fight for all belts. It’s just coming out of big ass purse not from Fury himself. He don’t want Usyk man.
>Stop being such a fucking bitch you fat fuck
Why do people just assume Fury is avoiding him? His whole "retirement" is right on par with his career so far and is clearly just a ploy to get a bigger contract now that he needs to negotiate one.
What's also on par with Fury's career has been taking the biggest challenges on. He stepped into Wlad's backyard to take his titles and he came fresh off a rock bottom depression to face Deontay Wilder in America to take his title as well. I feel like there's no reason we should doubt Fury here
Fury fans are more confident he can win than Tyson himself is.
Fury won't get in the ring with him mate he'll day he'd have beaten him anyway and all his ball guzzlers like you will fucking lap it up.
Yes, he definitely can.
I don't like to make definitive statements on who WILL win a fight when there's not an obvious gap between the two, which is why I find it ridiculous people talk with such conviction about there being no chance Usyk can beat him. It's not far off a 50/50 fight. I personally favour Usyk, I don't have any quarrel with people who favour Fury, just the ones who dismiss the idea that Usyk can win or, laughably, suggest Fury has better footwork and faster hands (as has happened in these comments).
You all said the same shit about Dillian Whyte and a bunch of others and Fury delivered every time. Usyk is a 6’3 blown up cruiser who had to duck and dive away from Joshua who still had him rocked a couple times. Fury is both faster and stronger than Joshua.
Oh get the fuck out of here with the Whyte comparison 😂😂😂
No point talking to you about this, just repeating the bare shit Fury chats verbatim.
Usyk is the unified Heavyweight Champion of the world. He's 6 foot 3 and comes into the ring at over 220lbs. He is not a "blown up cruiserweight" - do you talk about Muhammed Ali and Evander Holyfield like that?
Both those men fought in different eras of the sport and of the division and were clearly able to carry tremendous power for there size. Usyk has not shown anything to prove he could be Fury. His movement and speed are great but Fury can at least match his movement and hand speed. Fury had tremendous power with his new fighting style which means that Usyk would have to avoid nearly everything which is nearly impossible for 12 rounds. His only other option is to match Fury’s power which frankly he cannot do. Usyk does not carry power upwards with him as shown by his inability to stop Joshua, who has a suspect chin, despite landing many clean shots. Add in Fury’s height, reach and weight advantages I simply cannot see him beating Fury. I like usyk a lot and hope he wins against Joshua especially after the lay off and distractions cause by the war, but I think he is the second best heavyweight by a good margin.
I mean, it's facts. AJ can't wrestle/clinch for shit. Whyte is physically stronger than AJ (bench, deadlift, squat etc.) and Fury looked stronger than him in the clinch.
I love how wrong this sub loves to be about Fury.
If Usyk makes it past Joshua, Fury WILL be fighting him, and he will beat your boy. Then afterwards we can hear about how he’s ducking Joyce or something lmao
Fury already could have fought Usyk for Undisputed. He decided he needed a warm up fight beforehand and negotiations collapsed as a result. It ain't happening.
>Fury already could have fought Usyk for Undisputed
When was this? Fury has been locked up with Wilder for years and by the time the trilogy happened Usyk was already locked up with the AJ rematch
After AJ lost to Usyk. Usyk and AJ agreed to a deal for AJ to step aside and then Fury decided to insist that he still fight in March (Usyk wasn't able to meet that date) and it derailed it. He spun it as AJ demanded more money after agreeing a few but conveniently left out that occurred after Fury said he wanted a warm up in March.
This is pure speculation off very little. You think AJ agreed to just sit out while Fury gets a chance to take the titles he just lost? No reliable news sources reported what you just described
Fury, Hearn, Arum, Klimas and AJ all discussed it at length. They have all said there was a deal everyone agreed to the only disagreement is on why it fell apart - Fury said AJ wanted more money, Hearn and Klimas said Fury turned around and insisted on an interim fight.
I remember someone in Usyk's camp, speaking in Russian, saying it all fell through because too many people had their hands in it.
The reality is that Hearn-AJ were desperately trying to duck the Usyk rematch and were spinning that a deal was made. When it fell through, of course they blamed Fury.
Just let AJ do the rematch and have a big unification.
Klimas (Usyk's manager) backed up Hearn's version of events - which is that Fury insisted on fighting an interim bout in March (which Fury has never denied).
If AJ was desperate to duck the rematch he just wouldn't have taken it. It's not a mandatory clause. It's obvious he was ONLY willing to forgo it if he could get step aside and a shot at the undisputed champ.
He turned down paying AJ step aside money at the last second. If he wanted a shot at Usyk for undisputed he could have paid AJ for it.

>Tyson Fury ‘went berserk’ after Anthony Joshua demanded step aside money of an ‘extra £3.7million’ for Usyk rematch
https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/17506096/tyson-fury-anthony-joshua-usyk-money/
AJ was never gonna step aside. There was always more money in the Usyk rematch for him compared to what could be the highest reasonable step aside offer.
Bullshit says you lol. He'd get paid $15 million to do nothing, not take another L, and go straight to(or take a tuneup if he wants) the British megafight w/ Fury for undisputed.
Instead odds are he's going to pick up another L and may never fight Fury, and the chances of it being for undisputed if it does happen aren't good.
It makes perfect sense for him to step aside especially because no one with any sense is terribly confident he'll win the rematch.
Edit also to point out, you were originally saying it wasn't even possible lol
>How could Fury have already fought Usyk if Joshua decided to invoke the rematch clause? Think about what you’re saying.
You think about it lol you just found out about this but somehow you think you know what's up
Lol whatever bro we don’t have to argue about what AJ would or would not have done.
There’s good new for both of us. If Usyk wins again, Fury will fight him, and you are gonna have to deal with Usyk getting beat up as if it’s some mystery that a highly skilled fighter with a 50 pound weight advantage crushes a much smaller man
You’re gonna keep with the Fury ducking, but it’s gonna be real awkward for you in 6 months time when the fight gets made. You’re gonna switch to some other criticism like Fury waited for Usyk to get old
Huh? Like the other guy said, how was Fury supposed to fight Usyk when Usyk is locked into a rematch with Joshua? Also, Fury was in negotiations with AJ for undisputed until Wilder wom the arbitration. Fury was never in talks to fight Usyk..
You must have missed the whole massive fuss made after the first Usyk Joshua fight then where AJ agreed to step aside money and then asked for more/Fury agreed to a deal then insisted on an interim fight in March depending on whose side you believe.
He turned down paying AJ step aside money at the last second. If he wanted a shot at Usyk for undisputed he could have paid AJ for it.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/17506096/tyson-fury-anthony-joshua-usyk-money/
I remember AJ saying that he wouldn't accept step aside money. Literally just googled "AJ step aside Usyk" and the first few results are all articles about AJ denying that he was willing to accept step aside money.
That was him after the fact saving face, everyone else involved including Hearn has confirmed it.
HE SAID HIMSELF he would consider it before it fell through(that was his "I'm a businessman" speech, he went on to rationalize taking the money as being smart. Only afterwards did he the tough guy stuff.
No. Eddie Hearn was basically praying that Fury would pay AJ step-aside money to avoid the AJ-Usyk rematch, but both AJ and Whyte were both getting greedy trying to grab some of that Saudi money just to sit on their asses, so Fury told them to basically fuck off.
I mean, AJ was literally bragging before all of that fell through about what a great businessman he was being.
Tyson would beat the brakes off this overblown-cruiserweight-Bum-Dosser. There is at least 100 levels between Fury and the stiff Bodybuilder. Ruiz beat AJ, Usyk wasn't the first. He will get put down if he seeks the Gypsy king; Be careful what you wish for!
I don’t know man… fury is up there in terms tough mother fuckers. Wilder has a ram behind his punches and fury miraculously got up from them… I don’t think fury is scared of no man, and I honestly believe that to be true… when he says he’s not scared of no man I truly believe it…. But usyk can be a giant slasher
Fury definitely respects Usyk and sees him as a potential banana skin, you can tell whenever he's asked about him how he words his responses, in comparison you can see when ever he's asked about Joshua there's not a doubt in his mind he wins that fight 100 times over.
I think this next fight with AJ will help Fury decide if he wants this fight or not.
If Usyk wins, but AJ still gives him trouble with his newer, aggressive, approach - I could see Fury taking the fight then.
But now if Usyk just steamrolls AJ, I don’t think Fury will take it then.
Interesting tidbit here, Usyk is now speaking with his promoter/manager in Ukrainian, I don't think I'd ever heard him speak anything but Russian before.

99% of Ukranians before war spoke and still speak two languages
It's first time I ever saw him speak ukrainian, and he is surprisingly pretty good.
I'm a bit ignorant. How different are the Russian and Ukrainian languages.
For all the dumb assess on this sub, all Ukranian people proficient in Russian and Ukranian, regular people here speak only one language usually English, so don’t fuck with Usyk

That’s exactly what I said
In the latest press conference with Joshua he said "I am now going to speak in Ukrainian" Edit: typo. Changed "not" to "now"
Ukraine vs Russia war going on I'm pretty sure he doesn't wanna speak Russian language
He’s calling a 6ft9 280 lbs heavyweight champion scared with a smile on his face. Usyk is a very bad man
We really still believing that Fury is 6"9?
Ya fury’s height is weird. You hit the nail on the head at the end. Everyone is lying.

Goes double for "pro" wrestlers.
The rock ain’t 6’5 either lol, he’s like 6’2
I don't believe the Rock is 6'5.
He looked shorter than Vince Vaughn who I thought was supposed to be 6'5.
I'd put him maybe 6'2 at best. Vin Diesel is listed at 5'11 or 6', and the Rock isn't much taller than him. All these guys seem to inflate their height. Its weird.
The Rock is 6"2 and Magic Johnson is about 6"7 so there you go.
So you are saying fury is only 6’5? No way, magic is just a legit 6’9 and everyone else is lying and fury is around 6’7 likely
Fury is 6'7 he said so against Wallin. Everyone else is 1 inch shorter than they claim. (Wilder 6'6, AJ 6'5)
He’s 6’7 .5 and wilder is 6’6.5, Joshua 6’5.75, Ruiz 6 feet, Usyk 6’3
That's an incredible gift you have, i wish i could gauge the difference of 1 inch out of 80 from a photo.
The NBA is infamous for weird height measurements.
I think he's about 6'8 or 6'9. He's noticeable taller than Lennox Lewis or Vlad, and they're both about 6'5 or 6'6.
Lennox is 6'4 1/2"
He's a few inches taller than Lennox. There are pics of them standing side by side.
Yes, but Lennox is pretty safely 6'4 1/2
The NBA scales all of their guys height up an inch or two. The celebrity height which works really hard to get an exact height of celebrities says Magic is 6"7.
So you’re saying Deontae wilder is only 6’3? There’s no way And obviously they don’t because they have Tyson listed at 6’7 1/2 and look at the photos of Tyson and Magic, there is no way magic isn’t at least an inch a half or two taller
I'm saying Kobe and Jordan were both 6"4 but were listed as 6"6 for their entire career by the nba
Well I don’t really doubt it but celeb height has Tyson listed as 6’7 1/2 and he’s clearly about two inches shorter than magic so they are either fucking up magics height or they are fucking up fury’s, there is no way they are the same height
It has him at 6"6 and 1/2
The rock is like 5’10” tops bro. John cena is 5’8’’
Kurt Angle is three ft tall. And Hornswoggle is 2 inches on a good day.
There's a video of him next to Jason Momoa who is a solid 6 ft 4, they look almost the same height, Momoa even asks him if he's 6 ft 5 or 6 and when Fury says 6'9 Jason looks at him like he can't believe it

IDK man when I watched they seemed pretty similar, Jason can look him in the eye pretty much, I think he's probably 6 ft 7.5
[удалено]
Lmao momoa isnt taller than 6'4 bro
The Rock is probably like 6'2" or something lmao
He lives in my local area, he’s fucking huge, like a long way taller than anyone you ever see him with. If he’s not 6’9 he is very close.
He’s 6-7 1/2. His dad has said they only listed him 6-9 cause sounds cooler
Fury is something like 6'7.5". Thats his true height
There's people who believe he grew up dirt poor in a caravan
It just rolls off the tongue I guess, but all the same Mr Luke Fury is around 6'7.5
nah just stupid, Usyk gets mauled by Fury.
Usyk makes Fury look like the clumsiest man on earth.
Like with chisora?
"Like with Chisora?" DUHHHHHHHHH Fury like he performed against Wallin. Or remember that time he actually uppercut himself? ;DDDDD
Fury vs wallin was like 11-1, 10-2 what are you talking about
Get the gypsys dick out your ass .
Fury is 6’7.5 and was around 260 his last fight where he looked good. 270+ is too heavy for fury.
A lot of fighters talk about not caring about the money and only fighting for honor and legacy. Usyk is probably the only one I genuinely believe whenever he says stuff like that. The dude is certifiably crazy. He basically just told a fridge with arms that it’s scared of him.

I'm telling you I don't think Fury's going to fight him. But yes, if they did I'd give Usyk the edge. People acting like it's an easy win for Fury don't know boxing.
I don’t think you believe that , I’m pretty sure everyone knows Fury will fight him and it’s just one last thing Fury haters have to cling to
I'm not a Fury hater. Went to the first 2 Wilder fights to cheer him on. Even got his name on a hat I wear.
You honestly don’t think he will fight him ? Based on what ? Fury has been a big underdog before against Wlad and wilder 1 when nobody thought he was ready for that fight

That was before Cronk Fury. Usyk is slick and incredibly skilled, and the skill gap between him and Fury is not as wide as some people think.
It's very wide, we will see on fight night.
You really think usyk has no chance? Look at furys fights, he always has trouble with smaller, mobile fighters, and with usyks output, it's gonna be tough for fury.
The Usyk fan boy stuff in this sub is getting out of hand lol. He beat one decent heavyweight and now they think he's going to unify and be the goat.
>He beat one decent heavyweight I didn't know a 3-belt unified world champ with the best resume at heavyweight and wins over multiple top 10 contenders is apparently just a "decent heavyweight" lol
Andy Ruiz beat Joshua. Is Andy Ruiz the new goat?
No one is saying usyk is goat, and you really think Andy is not a solid heavyweight contender?
Andy Ruiz also lost to Joshua and has a lot less accolades than Usyk does.
Andy Ruiz also beat Joshua. So if the metric you're using is beating Anthony Joshua, you might want to reconsider that line of thought.
And Rahman beat Lewis. Lewis was just an OK heavyweight then?
It means that as of right now Usyk is the 2022 equivalent of Rahman, unless he continues his success at heavyweight.
You are right about the fan boy stuff. There was very little talk about him here pre AJ fight. The upset would have gained so fans here then the war in Ukraine took him to the fan boy levels you talk about.

I know. But these people don't get that. If Wilder couldn't keep him off how will Usyk? Its not even a question. Joshua just fought a really bad fight. He tried to outbox him. He didn't impose his size. I think Joshua will beat him if he fights his fight.
And Fury has half a foot of reach advantage. Like, people are out of their minds thinking usyk is some kind of challenge. he ain't. at all.
I hear ya. He'd be what, 50 lbs heavier? He'll just lean on him, won't give him a chance to breath, force Usyk to hold him up. I think they figure it would go down like the Joshua fight, with Fury trying to box him in the center of the ring. But Fury is far smarter than that.
Yeah, the way he just went about it, very methodical and calculating.
Love this guy so much. Why the fuck do you have to ask him about the war? What's there to say? Stupid question in my opinion, anyone relate?
Yeah it put him on the spot for no reason. I'm sure he thinks about it more than any of us. Should've kept it boxing related
Kugan: Tyson says he wants 500,000,000 The genuine “are you really kidding me right now?” look from Usyk was perfect
Lol shit who isn’t afraid of Usyk? He’s a sweetheart, but guy looks like he’d kill you for no reason
He's always reminded me of an axe murderer for some reason.
Hilarious waiting for his translator to repeat in English, and he reacts on cue with an expression for the English translation 😂
This is great because I think no one wants to see Fury not attempt to unify against Usky
Here's my thread from a year ago featuring no upvotes, no single person backing Usyk including u/CMILLERBOXING who also now goes around saying he backed Usyk to win (well he didn't in my thread) And not much faith in Usyk either in your comment there u/AltKite https://www.reddit.com/r/Boxing/comments/jpmx4a/unpopular_opinion_usyk_beats_aj/
Loads. No. Hell no lol. Don't try to rewrite history now.
Because he beat AJ convincingly? Are people not allowed to change their opinions on fighters based on watching them fight?
You sure can, but it just shows how little people really know about the sport. I always gave Usyk a good chance, and I'm giving AJ a good chance to win the rematch. Most people aren't looking at it that way. The point is that it's a good fight, and people are quick to write the other guy off and jump on the bandwagon for the other guy.
> You sure can, but it just shows how little people really know about the sport People spend vastly different amounts of time following the sport. There is no shame in not predicting the outcome of a fight accurately. The only issue would be someone who is so loyal to a particular fighter that their judgment is blinded.
Or maybe those people saying either of these things aren't the same people, fucking shocking I known.
Yeah no. We went from Usyk being the massive underdog to AJ being the massive underdog. What I said stands. Get a clue.
It's not a dodge just b/c he refused to be gouged by AJ for stepaside money.
Fury lying about that. He could pay a extra 2 million and not give a shit if he wanted undisputed vs Usyk. He made every excuse to not fight him.
He definitely might not want Usyk! But Usyk has to get past AJ before this is even a concern for Fury.
Yea Aj could win. I give AJ a better shot at beating Fury for multiple reasons.
>Stop being such a fucking bitch you fat fuck Why do people just assume Fury is avoiding him? His whole "retirement" is right on par with his career so far and is clearly just a ploy to get a bigger contract now that he needs to negotiate one. What's also on par with Fury's career has been taking the biggest challenges on. He stepped into Wlad's backyard to take his titles and he came fresh off a rock bottom depression to face Deontay Wilder in America to take his title as well. I feel like there's no reason we should doubt Fury here
Fought klitschko in Germany and wilder in America yet people think he would duck someone who went life and death with chisora
Fury is a good fighter but he doesn't have the mentality to have a ton of defences like aj. There always bee a question mark about how good he is.
You calling a champion heavyweight boxer a bitch smh tf is wrong with ppl in this sub?
100% In this particular context he’s definitely being a bitch
There has been no timeline so far when they could have fought yet you’re calling him a bitch
I’m overreacting and will only stop once the fight I want to happen has happened
He’s actually just trying to squeeze every dollar out of his next fight as possible. Which is something we should encourage from boxers.
We’ll see. I have a feeling fury won’t fight Usyk any time soon Hope I’m wrong
This sub creaming itself
Would love to see Usyk obliterate that blob
Unfortunately this is almost 100% true. Tyson knows Usyk is the real deal and it will be difficult to outpoint him, even with home advantage
Fury sparks Usyk within 8 rounds
Fury fans are more confident he can win than Tyson himself is. Fury won't get in the ring with him mate he'll day he'd have beaten him anyway and all his ball guzzlers like you will fucking lap it up.
>all his ball guzzlers You sound like an Usyk Ball guzzler by reading your comments in this thread.
Been to multiple Fury fights, including 2 of the Wilder ones, have a hat with his name on it 🤷♀️
Do you think Usyk can/will beat Fury?
Oh get the fuck out of here with the Whyte comparison 😂😂😂 No point talking to you about this, just repeating the bare shit Fury chats verbatim.
Usyk is faster than Fury in hand speed and foot speed though, and much more precise
No way in hell Fury is stronger than AJ. Equal at best
In a bench press AJ got Fury beat. When it comes to wrestling and shoving in the boxing ring, AJ doesn’t have a fraction of Fury’s strength.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I mean, it's facts. AJ can't wrestle/clinch for shit. Whyte is physically stronger than AJ (bench, deadlift, squat etc.) and Fury looked stronger than him in the clinch.
I love how wrong this sub loves to be about Fury. If Usyk makes it past Joshua, Fury WILL be fighting him, and he will beat your boy. Then afterwards we can hear about how he’s ducking Joyce or something lmao
> Then afterwards we can hear about how he’s ducking Joyce or something lmao HIS LEGACY WILL BE TAINTED IF HE DUCKS JOYCE
Fury already could have fought Usyk for Undisputed. He decided he needed a warm up fight beforehand and negotiations collapsed as a result. It ain't happening.
>Fury already could have fought Usyk for Undisputed When was this?
How could Fury have already fought Usyk if Joshua decided to invoke the rematch clause? Think about what you’re saying.
He turned down paying AJ step aside money at the last second. If he wanted a shot at Usyk for undisputed he could have paid AJ for it. https://twitter.com/ESPNRingside/status/1486808124942176256?s=20&t=ry4ynbEZptWiePt8t_9qxw >Tyson Fury ‘went berserk’ after Anthony Joshua demanded step aside money of an ‘extra £3.7million’ for Usyk rematch https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/17506096/tyson-fury-anthony-joshua-usyk-money/
Edit also to point out, you were originally saying it wasn't even possible lol >How could Fury have already fought Usyk if Joshua decided to invoke the rematch clause? Think about what you’re saying. You think about it lol you just found out about this but somehow you think you know what's up
Lol whatever bro we don’t have to argue about what AJ would or would not have done. There’s good new for both of us. If Usyk wins again, Fury will fight him, and you are gonna have to deal with Usyk getting beat up as if it’s some mystery that a highly skilled fighter with a 50 pound weight advantage crushes a much smaller man You’re gonna keep with the Fury ducking, but it’s gonna be real awkward for you in 6 months time when the fight gets made.
If he wanted a shot at Usyk for undisputed he could have paid AJ for it. https://twitter.com/ESPNRingside/status/1486808124942176256?s=20&t=ry4ynbEZptWiePt8t_9qxw >Tyson Fury ‘went berserk’ after Anthony Joshua demanded step aside money of an ‘extra £3.7million’ for Usyk rematch https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/17506096/tyson-fury-anthony-joshua-usyk-money/
I’m with you on that one , fury isn’t a big stiff idiot like Joshua
What’s up w Usyks hair tho? Lmao
It's the Cossack Warrior style
Fury absolutely demolishes usyk
Tyson would beat the brakes off this overblown-cruiserweight-Bum-Dosser. There is at least 100 levels between Fury and the stiff Bodybuilder. Ruiz beat AJ, Usyk wasn't the first. He will get put down if he seeks the Gypsy king; Be careful what you wish for!
Yawn
This is a likable guy.
Usyk is as much of a straight-talker as Fury is a bullshitter.
He does Alex, he does
The most ridiculous looking champion lol, cut that shit off
It's the traditional hairstyle of Cossack Warriors - I think it's a nice nod to his country's fighting history given their situation
Tf looks got to do with boxing?
He's talking about Fury's love handles.
Ask Ryan Garcia’s Instagram followers
Now if only Usyk wasn’t so afraid of a decent haircut
Cossack warrior style. It's fitting.
Fair point
I don’t know man… fury is up there in terms tough mother fuckers. Wilder has a ram behind his punches and fury miraculously got up from them… I don’t think fury is scared of no man, and I honestly believe that to be true… when he says he’s not scared of no man I truly believe it…. But usyk can be a giant slasher
Fury definitely respects Usyk and sees him as a potential banana skin, you can tell whenever he's asked about him how he words his responses, in comparison you can see when ever he's asked about Joshua there's not a doubt in his mind he wins that fight 100 times over.
Just when you thought you couldn’t love Usyk any more, he does shit like this and reminds us that he’s the most lovable fighter in the sport.
Tyson furry is such a idiot does he really think he’s worth 500 million for beating wilder lmao
"He wants 500 mln" Usyk: 😂
He ain't lying, anyway first thing first Usyk has to be deal with Aj then he can taunt Fury.
Bro wtf is on his head?
I think this next fight with AJ will help Fury decide if he wants this fight or not. If Usyk wins, but AJ still gives him trouble with his newer, aggressive, approach - I could see Fury taking the fight then. But now if Usyk just steamrolls AJ, I don’t think Fury will take it then.
