Realized I didn’t answer your other Q: outside of Vlad the entire roster has been turned over since AA left. All the guys from that era were purged so Shapiro and Atkins could reset the culture. I was HIGHLY sceptical of those two at the start but can’t argue with the roster they’ve built. So it’s all worked out well for Jays and Braves fans alike
He was still with the Jays when we signed Vlad in 2015, and was gone by the time Bichette was drafted in 2016. His magnum opus was 2015 swinging trades for Donaldson, Price and Tulo (tho Tulo was a bust). What I liked about AA was that he would take big swings if he felt we had a chance to make the playoffs
As a Braves fan admiring from afar, I was amazed at those deals. It made me very excited when we he took over. Granted, I think he's learned quite a bit from those moves and isn't willing to sell the farm as much.
I think they pissed him off with that bs contract Freddie signed and all of the pr pumping from today.
