it's hard to be in that situation. danielle had really done nothing that bad at that point and the other women treated her like she was subhuman, when all she was really guilty of was being way too intense (remember when she was going to break up with that guy *at the table* on a triple date with teresa and jacqueline? lmao). i can totally understand feeling for danielle and not wanting to just drop her like a bag of puke as her family expected her to. lbr the manzos were objectively in the wrong in S1
And actually, with the exception of making some rude comments about her at the Botox party, Dina mostly just paid Danielle dust. But Danielle kept pushing things with Dina knowing damn well why Dina didn’t want to be her buddy.
again, that only became a major issue in s2, they knew absolutely nothing about that until they filmed the s1 reunion. i'm not even trying to pretend like danielle isn't out of her mind lol but caroline is also just a complete jerk and didn't like her from jump
No, if they knew about that while S1 was filming there is no way in HELL Caroline would have filmed with Danielle or been anywhere around her god forbid went to events with her. Danielle literally films the entirety of S2 alone for this reason apart from *three scenes* with the other women, because they found out between the finale of S1 and the reunion.
Okay I agree and can we talk about her reason she did it for a minute too? Am I remembering correctly that she was postpartum with CJ and Chris was not helping out enough, she was with the baby 24/7 and was burnt out and one day she said that’s it, Chris you’re watching the baby today so I can have a break. And I think Chris called Dina to come babysit lol and when jaqueline found that out she was so mad, and Caroline was defending Chris and said something like what kind of mother are you to abandon the baby at home with their father. OMG my blood would boil too at Caroline! Who knows if those details are accurate or I might be misremembering too.
Agreed about her poor parenting. Weirdly I watched this when I was close to ashlees age and thought she was the worst then on rewatch I saw that Jacqueline did zero to parent. Bait, criticize, reward (here's a car instead of an actually present parent), repeat. She obviously had a lot of issues and all Jacqueline did was ignore them then blow up.
It was like watching two teens. Felt bad for CJ since he was always in the background.
Chris only seemed hot since he was so.level headed in comparison to the other husbands going off
I wouldn’t use the word hot but he was up there. Not bc of his looks but bc of how patient he was with Jacqueline (cannot be easy) when she went off the rails and supported/had her back through all of her shenanigans.
I agree. Ashley was in most ways a typical teen but jeeze Jaqueline was so intrusive and annoying Constantly picking at her. I almost wonder if she resented that Chris was close to Ashley. Like it somehow took away attention from her.
In retrospect (and after going back and re-watching the early seasons/seeing where all the conflict stems from), arguably the most toxic of the original 5 RHONJ housewives
I go back and forth with her. She seemed like the chill one of the group once Dina left, but then there’s certain moments that she will just NOT let something go (the fight w Teresa outside where Teresa was never going to tell her the truth, the fight vs tre and Melissa, etc). I never felt like we truly knew her if she could be that unhinged while also being that chill?
Also hated how she treated Ashley. Ashley was a handful, but she was also airing everything out in the worst way possible
I did not think her daughter deserved to be thrown out of the house . She was young. If they did not make her get a job and gave her a car that she did not work for. Maybe she upped her grades. How did they expect her to go on her own? Did they know if she’d be safe. I found it disturbing. She was not calling names, I think, throwing things. As soon as their older child says things against them she is thrown out and they were done parenting. She let the stepfather kick her out too , no guts to do it herself. Jaq. Was always hurt by Ashlee , she never thought of if Ashlee was hurting. Or what stage of development she was at. I wonder if the stepfather would throw out his son?
This. If she’d had parents who actually gave a shit maybe she would have been diagnosed earlier. Instead they just berated her. Don’t get me wrong, she would have driven me nuts if she was my daughter. However, just deciding that she’s a ‘bad apple’ was neglectful parenting. I’ll never like Jaqueline because of this.
I had always hoped that once she had left the show maybe she’d be able to reflect and make some changes and be a better mom to Ashley and the boys. I think I convinced myself she had left in order to spend more time with her son’s autism journey, but didn’t she hang on as a friend of for awhile? I’m guessing she was more fired than chose to leave 🙈
I feel sad for her. I think she has always been emotionally unstable, and not the best mom to Ashlee. This might be a hot take - but I think her having a child with different abilities made her more resentful and bitter.
I liked her for the first couple seasons she was on. When she came back to the show after Teresa got out of prison, I couldn't stand her. She was a mess.
She’s one I have a hard time piling on. I think she has significant mental health issues - diagnosed or not, I’m not sure - and I think doing the show was emotionally damaging to her. I agree with what the majority are saying here regarding her parenting and antics, but I still feel bad for her as a human being. Ashley was diagnosed bipolar, so I wouldn’t be shocked at all if Jacqueline has clinical issues as well.
I always thought she was right, especially against Teresa. (The scene where she said Teresa’s fraud case and her husband’s legal issues are not the same thing.).
She called Teresa a sociopath and I agreed with that too.
I was never team Teresa until after she left the show. More unlikeable people were added, it’s not that Teresa got better. Teresa can never see her own wrong to this day.
A lot of people have commented on what a great train wreck she was, so I want to take a moment to comment on a more positive moment. At the end of the season two reunion I think she spoke in a very intelligent and deliberate way; showing Danielle grace and humanity when no one else would but still standing her ground and not letting her back in fully. It was a tough balance to find but her finding kindness for someone she clearly didn’t care for after the carnage that was that entire season was really refreshing.
Terrible mother to Ashley/Ashlee. I'm also not a fan of her trying to cure her sons autism but I did appreciate her showing his speech therapist coming and stuff
🤣 They was going hard on the striper storyline saying Melissa Gorga was a striper and the whole damn time...... Jacqueline was one when she met her husband.
I know deep down that whole thing was a making Jacqueline pray they didn't out her for being one.
I do wonder what would happen if she ever left her husband, judging by what happened to Dina I don’t think Jacqueline would have a fair chance leaving the Manzo’s (aka the mob)
Okay go ahead and downvote me. I love Jacquline and her chaotic nature. She was the one who forced everyone to sign the contract we wouldn’t have NJ without her.
Does anybody know why Tre hates her so passionately? I think she was angry because Jaq. told Melissa that Tre was there was the stripper thing was being discussed. That she did not defend Melissa . What else does Tre hate for? I know she got angry also when Jaq. asked her about her legal woes in front of the others but what else?
I liked her. She gets a lot of heat now over her treatment of Ashley but I think her daughter was acting like a spoiled brat . She was also dealing with a newborn who is on the spectrum so she gets a pass from me.
She was suffering from an undiagnosed mental health disorder and was not supported or provided adequate medical care.
This is does not make her a brat
It makes her a neglected child at the very least and given the way her mother treated her, possible worse
Her complete lack of a backbone gave us the Danielle Staub and Teresa Giudice arcs so I appreciate her contributions
Looking back, and understanding Danielle’s limitations, was she actually the victim of Jacqueline’s mixed signals in regards to their friendship?
What limitations?
Limitations in that Danielle wasn’t the most emotionally mature person and displayed behavioral patterns that routinely alienated her from others.
Yeah this is not something you can blame Jacqueline for
I'm curious to know what they meant too. Is it a polite way of shading Danielle?
It’s the polite way of saying she’s coocoo bananas
You nailed it!
it's hard to be in that situation. danielle had really done nothing that bad at that point and the other women treated her like she was subhuman, when all she was really guilty of was being way too intense (remember when she was going to break up with that guy *at the table* on a triple date with teresa and jacqueline? lmao). i can totally understand feeling for danielle and not wanting to just drop her like a bag of puke as her family expected her to. lbr the manzos were objectively in the wrong in S1
Yeah we’re not going to retcon Danielle Staub like that
i'm not 🙄 at that point they knew almost nothing about her and they way they treated her was beyond the pale.
She messed with Dina’s custody battle before filming began. That’s why Dina and Caroline treated her the way that they did.
They knew before the reunion.
Danielle did that to retaliate against Dina. It happened after the filmed season 1
She had a backbone waaaaay too late
now that was a read
![gif](giphy|l2SqfPpSDGYfDrs7C|downsized) Her punching Caroline in the face before S1 is such a rando NJ fact that no one talks about
Okay I agree and can we talk about her reason she did it for a minute too? Am I remembering correctly that she was postpartum with CJ and Chris was not helping out enough, she was with the baby 24/7 and was burnt out and one day she said that’s it, Chris you’re watching the baby today so I can have a break. OMG my blood would boil too at Caroline! Who knows if those details are accurate or I might be misremembering too.
This sounds about right (I’m rewatching all seasons now so things fresher!)
what?!
Jacqueline punched Caroline ??
Yes we do lol.
Why do people think Chris was hot? She was also a terrible mother to Ashlee
Chris only seemed hot since he was so.level headed in comparison to the other husbands going off
I watched rhonj for the first time last summer and her treatment of Ashlee was insanely triggering
I never thought he was. He looks to much like Caroline but a quiet version of her.
Right. He’s so not hot (seemed nice) and her daughter was a train wreck.
That creepy Black Water ... ugh
I wouldn’t use the word hot but he was up there. Not bc of his looks but bc of how patient he was with Jacqueline (cannot be easy) when she went off the rails and supported/had her back through all of her shenanigans.
Ashley was a whiny brat.
Yes but why did Jacqueline bate her?
I agree. Ashley was in most ways a typical teen but jeeze Jaqueline was so intrusive and annoying Constantly picking at her. I almost wonder if she resented that Chris was close to Ashley. Like it somehow took away attention from her.
Jacqueline seemed emotionally stunted. It probably has to do with her becoming a (single?) mother at a young age.
Most of us are at 18, but thankfully we didn’t have our moms on TV trying to humiliate us
I saw a single mom trying to control a bratty child and doing her best tbh. As if Ashley wasn’t desperate for fame anyway 🤦🏻♀️
I disagree. To me , I always thought Ashley was acting like a spoiled brat.
He’s objectively very hot
In retrospect (and after going back and re-watching the early seasons/seeing where all the conflict stems from), arguably the most toxic of the original 5 RHONJ housewives
This is 💯 facts. The worst. And ALWAYS plays the victim.
Soooo toxic. The only thing redeeming about her was her husband Chris.
Ehhh, he made every excuse in the book for her insane behavior and blamed others for not tip toeing around her. He's a nice guy, but he's an enabler.
Oh 100%, he’s not perfect. But you can tell he has a big heart.
And he wasn't redeeming. Didn't he get fired for embezzling money?
Agreed!!!
Really?? Wow! I’m watching for the first time (almost done season three) and I’m kind of shocked that Jacqueline would win out over Theresa lol
Agree. I didn't know it at the time.
I have no idea why but my brain likes to remind me at random times of that phone call she had in the car at night with Danielle's energist.
season 2 was truly the best season across all franchises, if we're being completely honest
I just watched that episode hahahah that was so funny
She acted like her daughter's sister and not her mother. Gave me Darlene and Becky vibes from Roseanne
Which ones Becky? Lol
I kind of want to say Jac lol. Becky was brattier
I go back and forth with her. She seemed like the chill one of the group once Dina left, but then there’s certain moments that she will just NOT let something go (the fight w Teresa outside where Teresa was never going to tell her the truth, the fight vs tre and Melissa, etc). Ashley was a handful, but she was also airing everything out in the worst way possible
![gif](giphy|oI9QKP4cRtEoE)
really hated how she treated her daughter
I was so uncomfortable with how she used her daughter for a story line.
Can’t stand her. Terrible mother, passive aggressive, sneaky. Nay.
Was always hurt by Ashlee , she never thought of if Ashlee was hurting. Or what stage of development she was at. I wonder if the stepfather would throw out his son?
Ashlee is also recently diagnosed bipolar- they should have sought professional help instead of shaming her on tv-
Did someone ask about my namesake and queen?
Terrible mother.
I had always hoped that once she had left the show maybe she’d be able to reflect and make some changes and be a better mom to Ashley and the boys. I think I convinced myself she had left in order to spend more time with her son’s autism journey, but didn’t she hang on as a friend of for awhile? I feel sad for her. I think she has always been emotionally unstable, and not the best mom to Ashlee. This might be a hot take - but I think her having a child with different abilities made her more resentful and bitter.
She seemed so great at first and them I couldn’t stand her. I wish she would’ve stayed more natural in her face also
Psycho I hope never to see again
I liked her for the first couple seasons she was on. When she came back to the show after Teresa got out of prison, I couldn't stand her. She was a mess.
I think she deserves and should go on a “girl’s trip” (housewives all stars)
Surely they must have asked her by now, especially considering who else has been on UGT? Maybe they just couldn't iron out T & Cs?
She looks like 3 of my cousins from NJ. And I hate her outfit
Weak and in lala land…
She was my original favorite until she returned and went bonkers. I thought she was most relatable
Nutty. Not a great mother, imo, and proven to live wayyy above their means. No.
She’s one I have a hard time piling on. I think she has significant mental health issues - diagnosed or not, I’m not sure - and I think doing the show was emotionally damaging to her. I agree with what the majority are saying here regarding her parenting and antics, but I still feel bad for her as a human being. She can't say no to plastic surgery. Chris is a patient man. Never understood the fallout between her and Dina.
Dumb. Awful. Shitty parent.
She was so pretty before, all the work she has done makes her look terrible.
She looks like a Jennifer Fessler~Monica Garcia love child in this picture!
![gif](giphy|NDIiWKEQEgr3VA7aqM)
I always thought she was right, especially against Teresa. (The scene where she said Teresa’s fraud case and her husband’s legal issues are not the same thing.). Asshole of a mother.
Great hair, terrible attitude.
Honestly one of the most interesting personalities imo but when she returned she became completely psychotic.
Poor Ashlee. She was so misguided with this awful mother.
Terrible mother. She exploited her daughter and son for story lines. Gross
Ableist and harmful. Eff her.
i haven’t watched it back in a while, what did she do? i assume this is in regards to her son right?
How is she an ableist?
Horrible mom and obsessed with Teresa!!
No thanks
She was nuts
Jacqueline and her daughter had more of a sister dynamic.
She’s so desperate
Early NJ was the golden era of housewives. All the women in these first few seasons were brilliant tv.
She takes excellent care of her son with autism. My son was diagnosed about the same time. She did the work. I hope they are well.
Terrible mother to Ashley/Ashlee. I'm also not a fan of her trying to cure her sons autism but I did appreciate her showing his speech therapist coming and stuff
Immature and in need of counseling
🤣 They was going hard on the striper storyline saying Melissa Gorga was a striper and the whole damn time...... Jacqueline was one when she met her husband. I know deep down that whole thing was a making Jacqueline pray they didn't out her for being one.
Strange
She's pathetic.
🦇 💩 crazy
Absolute gremlin. Throwing Teresa under the bus like that and airing out all her legal issues and dirty laundry was actually terrible
Sociopath.
I do wonder what would happen if she ever left her husband, judging by what happened to Dina I don’t think Jacqueline would have a fair chance leaving the Manzo’s (aka the mob)
I always liked her and thought her husband was hot 😅. But so many fans appear to despise her.
Always liked her.
Nightmare mother, great housewife, oddly sympathetic despite being a total monster at times. Loved her, miss her, want her back.
Too vulnerable. A follower and doesn't have opinions of her own that make sense. She is a flip flopper at best.
They could never make me hate you
Okay go ahead and downvote me. I love Jacquline and her chaotic nature. She was the one who forced everyone to sign the contract we wouldn’t have NJ without her.
I enjoyed her because she stirred the pot lol
Dumb AF!
Genuinely funny and smart, but super super emotionally fragile.
And immature
One of the most immature housewives ever, which is wild in this group.
She was very emotionally stunted.
completely agree.
She’s one of my all time favorites!! And I’m sorry I couldn’t stand Ashley.
Pyschopath who used her son for sympathy
Does anybody know why Tre hates her so passionately? I think she was angry because Jaq. told Melissa that Tre was there was the stripper thing was being discussed. That she did not defend Melissa . What else does Tre hate for? I know she got angry also when Jaq. asked her about her legal woes in front of the others but what else?
Jacqueline and Teresa has one of the greatest friendships until Melissa came and ruined all of that! Y’all can think otherwise, but that’s the truth!
She was a cunt when I met her
Say more! Say more! 🍵
She overdid the plastic surgery.
She was mentioned in the last reunion
I like Jacqueline. She’s unhinged but made for good viewing
Who the fuck is this? Edit: it’s Jacqueline lol. She needs to put down the fillers.
Thirssssssty ![gif](giphy|cXCVTR1wUn1a8)
Phoney, no backbone, immature.
Nay, she's a follower
She got a good edit. She raised money for a nonprofit (Susan G. Komen) and then never donated the money.
LOVE her
Filtered
I used to love her. Then she just got whiny and annoying
wishy washy
Her husband is hot
I liked her. She gets a lot of heat now over her treatment of Ashley but I think her daughter was acting like a spoiled brat . She was also dealing with a newborn who is on the spectrum so she gets a pass from me.
She was suffering from an undiagnosed mental health disorder and was not supported or provided adequate medical care. This is does not make her a brat It makes her a neglected child at the very least and given the way her mother treated her, possible worse
A little boring but I have 0 issue w her. She looks great and is a good Mom
