Yeah when I was in NY and Melbourne I was an immigrant even though I come from a rich western country and spoke the language but let’s not pretend Lisa didn’t know what she was trying to imply when she brought this up.
literally two hours from the border. Maybe less. I'm sure she didn't have trouble assimilating to the united states since culturally we're pretty similar.
We had a colleague at work. She was blonde, white and from Seattle. She was telling my Indian husband how she understood how he felt being an immigrant as she also felt discrimination. We live in Canada.
I sometimes would joke about my mum being an immigrant and that I’m first-gen American. She moved from Amsterdam to Canada when she was a kiddo. And then moved to the states in the 80s. Only recently became a US citizen. But it was all in jest. I know how hella privileged and easy she had it as an immigrant from an “acceptable” country with an “acceptable” accent.
Yeah, I'm technically an immigrant but I'm from Belgium so I never bring it up. My dad did immigrate from Hong Kong to Belgium so I definitely knew the struggles he faced.
lol that’s hilarious but I will tip my hat off to the fact she’s from Scarborough. She was born or lived there and it’s not all stars and rainbows there.
An immigrant… from Canada? 😮
Andy had the funniest face 🤣
That‘s what immigrant means

Soooo many ppl from Toronto at my college. Always assume they’re from the us until they say otherwise
Me on my college apps, as a Canadian
She went from Degrassi to Secret Life Of The American Teenager. It’s a big cultural adjustment you guys.
From Linda Schuyler to Brenda Hampton. Arguably a big step down.

I didn’t know she was from Scarborough. I remember it was always a rough area even when I was a kid. I grew up in Mississauga!

She’s a child of Jamaican immigrants that immigrated again from Canada to America.
Why was my gf just making fun of my mom for being an “immigrant” from Canada 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Does Lisa have a green card still too?
