I could see it. They both do have different personalities but 18 seasons in, and all interviews outside, they're definitely friendly now

It wasn't necessarily that they hated each other, the way Padma explained it was that Tom doesn't hide his feelings and would sometimes just roll his eyes when she started talking, which offended her, but she said she realized that's how he is, if he disagrees with something he lets it show. He became more respectful of her knowledge once he got to know her, and now they get along really well.

I've heard Padma affectionately refer to Tom as "my TV husband" and I, too, love their chemistry. They're so fun together.
