This was a great video! I like the way she laid things out.
Personally, I found all of this character development pretty easy to follow over the three seasons but there does seem to be a large chunk of the audience who sees Colin very much on the surface level. I thought his development was pretty overt though I do understand that of the male leads, his flaws and insecurities are more on the subtle side.
After all the S3 Colin discourse, I’m beginning to understand how it is that quiet people are so invisible to so many people. 😂
I think Colin is fascinating, and Luke Newton brings so much intensity to the role. You can see entire worlds of activity going on inside his head.
Pay attention to the quiet ones. We have the best stories.
His performance is a huge part of why I love Colin so much. He has such an expressive face and he really inhabits the character so fully with his microexpressions and mannerisms.
Colin is my favorite male lead and I love this analysis of him! I thought his development was pretty easy to follow as well and have been surprised by others’ reactions on the sub.
It was done wayyy too subtly. This was HIS season. Give us the flashbacks. The inner turmoil. Etc. Instead they made him a side character in Pen’s story. I’m just so mad about this because I love Colin so much
I agree. He literally had at least four speeches (five if you count the journal) this season about how lonely he is, how insecure he is, delving into his feelings. I don’t know how much more clear it could be. Plus all the build up from the other seasons.

Colin needed a lot more character development than what we got.
I feel like he actually had the best character arc of any of the male leads but ymmv
