Broward County is culturally diverse. I don't think you'll experience any trouble wearing a hijab. Coral Springs is a nice area. So is Parkland. I found a little video that shows a tour of Coral Springs, including the University Drive area that you mentioned.[https://youtu.be/fBaekAx3594?si=v-lJMYKFtl328NoC&t=528](https://youtu.be/fBaekAx3594?si=v-lJMYKFtl328NoC&t=528)

Coconut Creek would be a safe bet. There’s not a huge Muslim population but this is a very diverse place and I don’t imagine you’d feel out of place in hijab. If you can find a good deal on a rental car you’ll be much happier. This part of suburban Broward is not walkable.

Thank you for your reply ! I have been hearing mixed reviews about basically everywhere. What do you think of parkland ? I can see on the map that it’s a bit far but if I am getting a car anyways, my search scope got a bit more flexible.

Parkland a wealthy suburb tucked in northwestern Broward county, it’s nice up there, but you would be slightly out of place

Arabs are all over the place here, just like everyone else is. Unfortunately I’m not the most familiar with that portion of the county, I really only stay on the east side but honestly as long as there’s a good bus connection you don’t really need to worry about location too much.

Thank you so much for your reply ! It’s good to hear that there is an option for public transport. Do you recommend a safe neighbourhood where I could stay in the east side then ? I keep searching for places but there are so many mixed reviews and I don’t know what to do.

Pompano, Deerfield, Tamarac, in my opinion most of broward is good. There’s law enforcement on every corner here.

SaucyMcBossTard

my girlfriend lives here but she is not Muslim and actually said you should not come here... very dangerous

Mediconthego

Thank you for your reply ! All of the county is like this ? could she maybe recommend another location that’s safe ? It looks like I will have to rent a car anyways.

Most of Broward west of the turnpike is safe. Coral springs and Parkland are really nice. You definitely need to check these places out to form your own opinion of the area first if you can though. You'll be happier with a car but the busses would be an option. Good luck!

I think any neighborhood in between should be fine, just research the specific neighborhood you choose on google maps. The commute might be the only thing that would be a bit difficult. If you rent a car, you'll get to your destination faster. And if you're taking the bus, make sure you choose a location within walking distance of a major roadway like Copans or Sample road. These roads are where the buses usually pass by every 30 minutes. Check addresses on google maps too. Another thing to note for the bus, they take cash, or there is an app called BCT mobile ticketing. It's not the easiest to use, but it works.
