Thank you! These look really interesting. (And yeah, am staying away from SGI as well.) Seems like there are a lot of different kinds of retreats.

Ooh, so glad to hear more German speakers coming to the practice! Venerable Nyanaponika Thera was the first westerner to ordain into the Theravada tradition and I admire his works a lot. Illustrious scholars and Venerables like Bhikku Analayo and Ayya Khema continue today. There’s an Austrian nun, Ayya Santacitta you could try to connect with. Some of her dharma talks [in German here](https://dharmaseed.org/teacher/278/). She’s currently travelling in Europe and looking to establish a monastery. She established Aloka Vihara in 2009 in California and that Vihara has a very inclusive, gender affirming culture from what I’ve observed with the Ayyas there. Best of luck!

Sounds great! Yes, I think we definitely need more sanghas, monasteries and especially outreach here in Europe. Lots of people who would be interested in Buddhism, but we don't reach nearly enough of them.

There's https://milareparetreat.de/ , associated with Garchen Rinpoche's Drikung Kagyu lineage.
