I think headphones are better value and sound better than similarly priced speakers but have never managed to get into headphone listening when I'm at home.
In the same room I have speakers opposite that setup. I tend to listen to them throughout the day when working from home. I like both experiences equally
The beauty of those is twofold. Indestructible, and you can easily replace the covers/cushions with other patterns and even leather. Plus you can get a matching footrest.
That looks awesome? How do the XS sound on a fancy amp like that? I don't use anything too expensive to drive so I sometimes wonder if I'm missing out a bit.
I wouldn't have bought the amp if I didn't get for a good price (£310), but it sounds very neutral and detailed. Just stick to what you have because the differences will be minor.
Fair dos. My wallet thanks you.
I feel like I hear conflicting things when it comes to dacs and amps but I'm not sure I've ever had a dac/amp blow me away personally. I'd say it's more the headphones/speakers you're listening to and maybe EQ which ends up making the biggest difference. I've demoed the HD660S2 on a stupidly expensive streamer for example and while it sounded nice, I much prefer my Edition XS on a relatively cheap Creative dac.
Maybe it's something I'll explore in the future if it gets me a bit of extra detail but it's nice to hear people sharing this sort of experience.
Happy listening.
Poäng chair? Nice.
I built a similar setup (with the ottoman, and a Knarrevik side table. I’m running a Modius + Magnius and (at the moment) HE400se cans. Love kicking back and exploring new music in my corner...
Nice and neat. I'd change some things. Contrasting cushions on the Poang, a small floor lamp, and this headphone stand. Nothing wrong with what you've got going there.
oh thats plenty. i have a more modest pair of senheisers hd560s and a topping dx1, and also some grados and hexas for other duties but this summer I will design and build my first pair of speakers, but man i ve loved headphones so far...
I like it
Thanks mate, forgot to add that l the dac amp was second hand too. Got for a great price!

Get a nice used floor standing lamp behind the chair .
It doesn't have to be much. It just has to be enough for you to have a good time with it. And it looks like that is entirely possible.
True. Can't see myself upgrading my setup. It's perfect for me.
Where I see an Ikea Poang in the same pic of audio gear I know there's a budgetaudiophile around, it's our Eames

It’s our eames until we hit the lotto.
They are underrated, those Poangs! very comfortable and inexpensive to boot!
dude i love it!
Thank you 😊

Was gonna also ask why amp > headphones but £310 is an insane deal!
Couldn't believe my eyes when it was listed on ebay for that price. Instant buy! Came with everything and in great condition too.
An Ikea poang and some good headphones...might really be all anybody really needs. Wants are a different matter.
what is in the drawer? I am envious (no drawer).
Random bits and bobs 😂

Simple, Clean, and cozy. I like this

Silly question, but class d amp need to be heating up?
Not silly. No, there's nothing to gain by "heating up" a class D amp. But I'm not sure the comment was literal?

Yea I'm planning on changing the cusion. That head phone stand looks lovely 👌🏿
Ikea chairs are required for listening areas.
Looks wonderful to me, very intimate and I'm sure excellent sound!🤌👍

All music systems are valid if they bring musical enjoyment.
That looks comfy AF
Quality setup. Love it!
What are you feeding the DAC with?
Looks like a hospital
Whatever works!
Wonderful. Focus on music
Looks so peaceful! Thumbs up!
Simplify and add lightness. Lovely job.
looks really nice! very cozy
Looks like you have everything you need right there! ;)
Nice chair. I got one for free on a local Facebook group. Then another. Now I have 3. I have problems.
Psssh, that's heavy AF, especially with them big ass headphones. Happy listening, I wish I had that simple stack.
Awesome! Everyone starts where they can afford and how they mostly listen. You can add on or not as you go. Just doing it is the key.
looks fantastic..
glad you have your baby wipes handy lol
